Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a double whammy burger, and now it is time for you to post until the double whammy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HOBGOBLIN!
-
Welcome forty-one GUESTS. Who ARE you people?
-
Topic of the Day: I'll be working during the day (of course), then I'll either go to my sister's or my friend Shelly's after work. As for a "costume," I have a Christmas shirt that I'm going to wear! THAT will be my costume! ;D
-
I also have a cap with battery-powered LEDs that light up "This is my costume!" :))
-
And now, I must hie myself to bed so that I may sleep...but before I do:

-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Happy Halloween.

-
Sorry for the scare, DR TCB. Glad it wasn't any worse.
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE HEALING VIBES~~~ for former DR WFO!!!!
-
Thank goodness for DR vixmom!
-
But sorry you missed Jason's show.
-
Hope you can get through today on so little sleep.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, I'm happy that Mr Orr is safe. Thank you for rescuing the poor man.
-
DR TCB, perhaps the ghost that smacks my linen coset door decided to visit you for the holiday?
-
I slept warmly but poorly. I was up and down too many times. The extra bedding made me and Annabelle very happy, but my dreams were unsettling and strange, and my bladder was running on overtime.
-
I remember none of the early dreams now, but the last one was truly strange, something about Stephen Sondheim, Tommy Krasker, a writer, and me in a strangely empty apartment complex in the middle of nowhere. At the time I awoke, we were driving on a highway through rural territory to pick up someone.
-
.Now that I've finished the Interlude, I ave a song to work on today. It's about 80 bars long and I think it will take me the week t orchestrate.
-
I have no plans for Halloween. Perhaps te cats and I will watch something scary tonight, although the scariest thing is the current political scene.
-
Ain't THAT the truth!
-
There was an interesting review in yesterday's NY Times of Jim Parsons starring in an Off-Broadway revival of A Man of No Importance. Overall, a positive review.
I'd link it, but I think it is behind a paywall.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Mega vibes for Bill. And much gratitude for Vixmom to the rescue.
I read some really negative reviews of that. Haven’t seen the Times’ review yet.
-
Must get ready for work.
-
Happy Halloween!
-
We can't leave it here.
-
Oh no. We must move on.
-
To Two.
-
If you please.
-
Good morning, all.
-
That is so scary about Mr. WFO. Kudos to vixmom for the follow-up and rescue.
-
It's a Monday, it's Halloween, and it's a ME day. (There was no rehearsal planned for tonight.) Other than that, I have little to report.
-
Halloween is a veritable month-long celebration, or season, in these parts. But with one show in production and another in rehearsal, it passed completely by me. Except for tonight, when damn it to HELL I shall sit down and watch a horror film or two.
Famous Last Words: I am NOT doing two shows back to back at this time next year.
(I'll just keep repeating that and we'll see what happens.)
-
Happy Boo Day!
One might even greet the day with "Hey, Boo!"
-
I have to say I was expecting the notes to speak of a really stupendous hamburger.
Because I'd love to have a really stupendous hamburger today. Wouldn't you?
-
Today will be spent finishing up the transfer of some handwritten notes from the 2020 version of this show to the current one, ketchuping on the putting away and straightening up of various things, musical and otherwise, the taking out of two weeks of trash (don't ask), and finally some movie watching relaxation.
I need to fit a trip to market (like a wee little pig) in there somewhere.
-
I have to say I was expecting the notes to speak of a really stupendous hamburger.
Because I'd love to have a really stupendous hamburger today. Wouldn't you?
Yes. I had a lot of dull burgers yesterday.
-
Sunrise this morning was spectacular. Dawn’s rosy fingers were really painting the sky.
-
Which is worse?
A dull burger, or a nothingburger?
I forgot to comment on your scare last night. I hope the poor man is okay.
Bed made. Now for the basement.
-
Good morning!
-
Vibes for DR WFO. So great that you rescued him, DR vixmom!
Happy Halloween!
-
Halloween greetings! We have some errands to do today but will be home in time to hand out treats to the dozen or so beggars we expect.
-
Recovery vibes to WFO!
-
DR ChasSmith, please extend my best wishes to your friend from a fellow nose-diver. I did exactly the same thing during a Charlie Brown dress rehearsal (except I sprained my ankle and bruised my hip - no facial damage, no blood). That maneuver was not part of DR Elmore’s direction!
Oh my what a story!
DR VIXMOM made a reformation day rescue.....looking out for each other is so important!
-
Yes as DR CHAS SMITH's story illustrates - an unfamiliar theeder can be a dangerous place.
-
Vibes for DR TCB - scary!
-
I have no special plans for Halloween.....we shall just see what happens.....
No costume.
-
An arrest has been made in the murders of the two Delphi girls.....that happened in 2017.....
He is charged with two counts of murder or felony murder (depending on which station you're watching).
The county sheriff spent the first five minutes of his speech castigating people who had been critical of him and his department for taking all this time.....to arrest a man who lived three blocks from the police station.
My oven is not heating properly, which makes baking cookies difficult. And probably the reason my last cakes failed; they were not done at the bottom of the pan.
-
DR Chas I hope your director/composer/lyricist is ok today.
-
Thank you DR George. So far he isn't any better this morning.
-
From George:
All right, everybody. Thank you very much. It's all over.
That was one of my last lines, delivered right after the murder (who shall NOT be named here) is arrested!
I think that is a perfect last line.
-
DR George it seems to have been a very rewarding experience for you.
-
From DR Vixmom:
I just wish I had done it earlier
Of course, but if you hadn't made plans then how much longer would it have been before you went over there.
-
Thank goodness you heard "I'm up here".
-
MEGA HEALING VIBES FOR BILL!
-
Thank you DR TCB.
-
Thanks Vixmom.
-
I will take a covid test this afternoon. If I test negative, I may just go to see the kids even if Keith can't go.
-
DR TCB I am glad you are all safe and no how scary that was last night having had similar experiences.
-
You can always tell the theory teacher's house...
-
I am reading a wonderful book, The Thread Collectors.
-
It takes place during the Civil War.
Lovely.
Oh no. I hope it will be an easy, and not expensive, fix.
-
Finished Barbara Kingsolver’s latest, Demon Copperhead, an oxycotin rewrite of David Copperfield. The prose is dazzling. A great dose of Twain as well as Dickens. But the book is often depressing.
-
I think I will pass on that one.
-
I love Jackie Hoffman.
DR Laura, thanks for the horror preview. Did the Republicans make it?
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
Many vibes to WFO!
At last! Indiana University finally sent a contract with all corrections made, I think I can sign it.
Did the super turn your radiator back on? Didnt you have him.turn it off the other day because it was too hot?
-
Bill is still awaiting surgery
-
Thanks for the update. Will they be repairing his hip or possibly replacing it?
-
I guess I will take my test now. Fingers crossed.
Thanks John.
Very quickly Keith could see he is still positive :(
-
I have seven minutes left on my test.
-
Negative.
-
I am relieved but sad because I want Keith to feel better.
-
Thank you for the Halloween card, Larry!
-
Maybe a high "C" will scare the kiddies away.
-
Glad you are still safe, DR Jane. Sorry about Keith.
-
Maybe this will do it.
George & TCB, did you know Washington State has free covid tests? I just ordered kits at https://sayyescovidhometest.org/
A German production from Germany of Frank Wildhorn's Dracula (the musical) is being released on Blu Ray. Is the New York production the one that former DR Jose worked on?
-
Or was that Lestat?
-
He did Lestat.
I am having terrific failures on my cookies today. I guess I used up all my good energy on the snowflakes.
Sorry.
-
Picked up two important envelopes and a few other pieces of mail. Food should be here in thirty minutes.
-
Happy Halloween! Wow I'm just catching up. DR Vixmom thank goodness you had a key and let yourself in. I can't even imagine being on the floor for 3 days. I guess it's important to have someone check on people daily.
-
Thank you for the Halloween card, Larry!
You're very welcome.
So sorry. Sounds horrible. Do you need a new oven?
Hi, Jennifer!
-
Hi DR Jennifer. It is nice to see you here.
-
Feel better vibes for Keith. Here each person is able to get one pack of covid tests every month for free at any pharmacy. I can't believe how many people are getting covid now who haven't had it before.
-
Hi DR Jennifer. It is nice to see you here.
Thanks. I only have HHW set up on my computer. Yet I don't use my computer as much as I used to.
It's the royal icing. Also, the dough stuck in the new Haunted Mansion cookie cutters and I couldn't for the life of me get it out.
Thank you. I was told by a friend in California just to ask at the pharmacy. They said in Washington I needed a prescription yet didn't mention the state program. It is good you can still get the tests free.
-
The Washington State site says "Orders may be placed each calendar month (beginning on the 1st of each month)." I suppose that means I can order more tomorrow.
I hate when the dough sticks like that.
Thanks for answering my question, DR Laura!
I am off to my book discussion. I will wear a mask.
I did. I don't want it turned back on. I just want to be warmer.
Tonight we watched the 1962 Hallmark Hall of Fame broadcast of Arsenic and Old Lace with Dorothy Stickney and Mildred Natwick as Abby and Martha Brewster, Tom Bosley as Teddy, and Boris Karloff reprising the role of Jonathan, which he originated. I really liked Tony Randall as Mortimer. George Voskevic was a good Dr Einstein, but Peter Lorre owns that role.
DR Vixmom, thanks for the update on DR WFO. Continued vibes for him!
I had a very enjoyable discussion of GIANT.
-
Everyone was surprised, as I was, to learn there was a musical. Had it not been for HHW I would not have been able to share this information.
-
DR John they found your comments about Mary & Ferber very interesting, thank you.
They all appreciated the fact I wore a mask to protect them.
A German production from Germany of Frank Wildhorn's Dracula (the musical) is being released on Blu Ray. Is the New York production the one that former DR Jose worked on?
I actually got that German Blu-ray. It's really over the top, but in general, I like Wildhorn's music. I just don't think I need to see ANOTHER version of Dracula...maybe a new and unique (and good) take on a vampire musical, but not "Dracula" specifically.
-
No knocks or ringing doorbell - light off, so maybe that was it, but I did not hear any kiddies outside at all. I suspect there simply aren't children on this block.
-
Been playing on YouTube after not finding anything of interest to watch.
-
Such are the way of things.
-
Had my farfalle with roasted garlic and chicken from Cheesecake Factory - excellent and the lunch-size portion, which seemed to me to be the regular-size portion.
-
I ate it all up.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Who knows it?
-
Anyone?
-
Perhaps I'll go try again to find something to watch.
-
Bill is still awaiting surgery
I am obviously way behind on news about Mr. Orr. Is he now living alone?
I wonder how they will deal with rehab once he has been operated upon.
-
Trying to write a bio that will get me a job teaching food writing.
-
I think I’m too tired.
-
I think it's the dreaded algorithms that's not showing me, for example, classic movies.
I think we know Amazon Prime has classic movies.
I'd like to know it now.
Good evening.
-
We had some trick or treaters. The streets were much busier during the pandemic. It was quiet this year.
-
The cookies that did turn out were a hit.
-
We made a quick trip to our former pastor's house, who lives about a mile away. He and his wife hadn't seen my grandson since he retired.
Former pastors are not allowed to be in contact with church members for a period of time. This gives the new pastor time to get established and the congregation adjusts to going to the new pastor for their needs. Mrs. Former Pastor in particular misses the children.
He is still one of my best friends. One of the only ones left alive.
