Well, you've read the notes, the notes were joyous, and now it is time for you to post until the joyous cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LAPIDARY!
-
I just noticed a typo from my last post last night...it should've been "for taste purposes." ;)
-
Also, I was just about to post this:
I love Jack in the Box tacos. They're perverse but good. I didn't know they had such a thing as a monster taco.
They actually brought back the Monster Tacos. They had them (at least, around here) for quite a few years, in addition to their regular tacos. And I agree...their regular tacos are pretty darned good.
-
Pretty fun Ruthless videos, BK! The poster of those only had one other video, and it was also from Ruthless: The Pippi Song & Kisses and Hugs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHGP4umZyb8).
-
Forgot to put the Sami thing in the notes. Will put here instead. If it fits.
-
Nope, too big.
-
Actually, I'd rather post it on the board, so let's try again.
-
Let's try again. This should work.
-
Looking forward to SAMi!
-
Ruthless! played a huge part in my life.
My daughter was Tina.
I still remember every note and lyric.
-
Some girls like to cook and sew,
When I cook, it’s in a show,
I was born to entertain!
-
The adorable little girl, Tina, is really wicked, just like In The Bad Seed.
It was so much fun.
We did meet Lindsay Ridgeway, her sister, and her pet rabbits.
She became famous on the show Boy Meets World.
She was so talented and cute as a button.
-
Changing the subject, I missed the discussion of which HHW people had passed away.
I remember Kerry, Laura’s friend in Phoenix. Think his nickname was “Music Guy”.
He was such a delight, and I still miss him.
-
Wishing everyone a lovely Thursday. 🌻
-
Lindsay is closing in on forty and has an cute kid.
-
I remember hearing her sing the National Anthem at baseball games in Anaheim. Didn’t she also record country music? She and Elyse have the same birthday. They were both quite mischievous when they were together. Lindsay performed as Tina in Orange County a few years after the production at The Canon. That’s when we met her family.
-
Bet her child will be talented.
“Talent…where does it come from”?
I think many people on HHW would enjoy that production of Ruthless! on Broadway HD.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I continue to hope the current hurricane blows Mara-Lago and the Fat Orange Baboon out to sea where the bastard becomes fish food.
-
And speaking of politics, Dear Lurker Iris, I loved your election night posts immensely. I also wanted to post that Larry Hogan, whom I've only seen on MSNBC and CNN, is one of the few current Rethuglicans I admire for showing sense and intelligence. Like Liz Cheey, I don't expect him to have the same views as I and I admire them them both.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I just recently watched Ruthless! on Broadway HD and enjoyed it.
-
CONGRATULATIONS, BK, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
-
I had a dream last night where my pizza delivery guy walked up, swinging the pizza box - sideways - under his arm.
I woke up before I could open the box.
-
Tom of Oz is not dead; he's a friend on Facebook, and he occasionally posts a comment to me. He left HHW, I believe, during the Panni brouhaha with Charles Pogue, along with the Soloway brothers, Stuart and what's-his-name (I really cannot remember). Stuart shows up occasionally on some of the Facebook musical theatre pages.
-
The SAMI! graphic looks great. Can't wait.
-
I had a dream last night where my pizza delivery guy walked up, swinging the pizza box - sideways - under his arm.
I woke up before I could open the box.
I actually had a pizza once delivered to me in that condition. After a phone call, another delivery person brought me a new one for exchange of the old.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I have no real plans for today. I have an Amazon Fresh delivery arriving this morning, my first using my SNAP EBT card. I am very excited about this.
-
Thursday after the time change, and I'm still getting up earlier than before. I guess that's not a bad thing.
-
Yesterday I spent around two hours dealing with NY State SNAP program in an effort to learn how to use the card. Amazon acceptred the card number, but I had no idea how to create a PIN.
-
I called the NYC number given on the SNAP website several times. At first it was busy for several tries/ Then I finally got a recording asking me to hold; I was first in line. I waited around fifteen minutes, then someone picked up the line and hung up. When I called back, I got the message "The mailbox is full. Please call back later." I sent the SBA{ [rpgram an email telling them I did not appreciate the dumbass whose phoe number it was.
-
My vaccinations are at 11:30 this morning. I'll go to Shop Rite to pick up a few things afterward, then enjoy the rest of the day at home, probably working on some music.
Rain is forecast for pretty much all day tomorrow and Saturday. I'm guessing that's from the hurricane?
-
After several more frustrating readings of the program's website, I called Amazon Customer Service. I spoke to a nice young man named Nathan who lives in Washington. I explained that Amazon kept rejecting my attempts to provide a PIN. He said he was on the Washington Food Stamps program, and he had needed to register hsi card and create a PIN. He put me on hold and then returned with an 888 area code phone number for the New York State Food Stamps program.
-
Congrats on achieving success with the card, DR Elmore!
-
I called them and after givng an automated voice my card info, Social Security number, and date of birth, I finally got a live person, a wonderful lady named Laura who heard my woes and then said, "Oh, that's easy to fix." She told me she would transfer me but she also gave me instructions on what to do if we got disconnected and I had to call back. Then she asked if she could do anything else for me and I said, will you marry me? She laughed, told me she wasa honored but already married and transferred me. Ten minutes later my EBT card was registered, active, and it had a new PIN. I put all this info and phone number into TextEdit and added it to my fikle on NY SNAP folder.

For my original Covid shots and three boosters I had no reaction. On the last one, I was puny for two days after. I hope yours goes well today.

Thank you. I deliberately planned being free of obligations till Sunday.
This will actually be only my second booster, and it's the "updated" one. Hard to believe, but it's been a whole year since my first. I didn't get one earlier this year due to actually catching the plague. :)

;)
-
Good morning.
-
Kerry passed away. MusicGuy was his partner for a number of years.
-
I met Kerry here on this site. I asked him on a date to the theater, which he declined.
-
I had an extra ticket to a show, but he worked Saturdays and couldn't go.
We decided to meet in person, and when we did, we spent hours talking, like we had known each other for years.
-
Yesterday I got antibiotics for the sinus infection I developed from the cold. I am traveling this weekend, so I hope it kicks in quickly.
-
Let's try again. This should work.

Wonderful!
-
Good morning, all.
-
It is a nice shot.
-
Wordle 5, Phoodle 3
-
So Sami has no !
Unlike Hello, Dolly!, which does.
-
I must remember that.
-
To paraphrase BK's close personal friend, Stephen Sondheim.
-
I turned the AC on last night. It’s supposed to drop 30 degrees tomorrow night.
-
Or Oklahoma!
-
It was warm again here last night. As the building's A/C was shut off long ago, it made for uncomfortable sleeping weather.
-
I wonder when the "!" trend started. If Oklahoma! had it, then it was pre-David Merrick.
-
DR Ginny, does the town of Hamilton near you still carry an exclamation point? It was Hamilton!, at least for a while.
-
Whom I would have though would have been a likely suspect.
-
The original title of Oklahoma! was Away We Go!, also with an exclamation point!
-
And now we've probably exhausted our yearly quota of them.
-
Three!!!
-
Good morning, BK.
-
You are up early.
-
Or should I say, Early!
-
Early is when someone does something Earl-like.
-
I've never understood why, when singing "What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor?," the word "early" is pronounced ehr-LIE.
-
These are the things I ponder.
-
In the yonder.
-
Contemplating my pirate's
plunder plonder.
-
Maybe I should see about getting some breakfast.
-
All my other morning chores are already accomplished.
-
The bed is made.
-
The dishwasher is unloaded.
-
The C-PAP gear is hand-washed.
-
And I'm on top of the world.
-
To paraphrase John Bettis.
-
There's a lot of
parasailing paraphrasing going on this morning.
-
As opposed to backphrasing.
-
But you'd have to ask Polly Bergen about that.
-
So Sami has no !
Unlike Hello, Dolly!, which does.
Or Oklahoma!
Or Oliver!

Because it’s all a lie.
-
What is it - Thursday?
-
I enjoyed the RUTHLESS! clips. I only know the show from the cast CD.....interesting that DR IRIS was the mother of "Tina"....
-
I like MR BK's idea of golden age composers writing songs for the electronic age....
I can only think of one right now:
Lerner & Loewe's "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Facebook"
-
Many thanks to those who have provided updates on our dearly departed. DRs Thom, Kerry, Susan, et.al.
I had suspected der Brucer may have passed, but not sure about S.Woody White.
Tom of Oz remains alive and as sassy as ever, if his FB posts are indicative.
-

Actually, I believe it's a play on pronunciation of nautical terms. If not, it's likely just a drunken interpretation.
-
DR Elmo's orange baboon has blamed Melania for having him back Dr. Oz.
The moron cannot take blame for ANYTHING.
Meantime, a lot of Republicans are declaring that Trump is now "off the table" as an influencer.
-
I turned the AC on last night. It’s supposed to drop 30 degrees tomorrow night.
I turned everything off last night. It feels so good in the house right...averaging about 71 degrees. It will get a lot colder today.
-
And one to grow on.
-
Four.
-
I wonder if DR TCB will be singing "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" today?
-
Amazon Fresh has arrived and is put away. Their deliveries used to come in these cumbersome cartons, but now they arrive in paper bags. I received seven bags today. Annabelle and Stella played for nearly an hour in the empty bnags while I put things away. It was very funny and they were very cute chasing and pouncing on each other.

It's about time that they're finally admitting it!

The cat's in the bag......

From DR Jrand:
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.
Well....I'm not sure how I will avoid having an egg show up in the cage one day......but I do not think that parakeets breed in captivity so it will probably just be there until I take it away.
This happened with another pair of birds we had decades ago.
Thank you. And good luck they don't breed.
-
Bruce I remember how happy Susan was and the Las Vegas trip.
-
It was Tom of Oz's wonderful friend Derek who passed away. Our first loss :(
-
Sadly der Brucer passed away. I have no idea how S. Woody White is :(

Thank you George.

I miss former DR Mike Barnum. Does anyone ever hear from him?
-
Saw the dermatologist. Got two steroid shots and a prescription for an unguent.
-
I miss former DR Mike Barnum. Does anyone ever hear from him?
I miss him, too. He's a Facebook friend, and we keep in touch. He left because he couldn't stand DR Druxy, who seems to have departed for good. Perhaps we can convince Barnum to return?
-
Saw the dermatologist. Got two steroid shots and a prescription for an unguent.
I thought it might have been a swollen lymph node. What is it?
-
Probably an irritated hair follicle

So I stopped for groceries after getting stabbed, and by the time I was leaving the store I could already feel the effects (mild fatigue) of the vaccinations! That would be from the Covid one, of course, not the flu shot. Those have never bothered me.
Finally back at home, in the recliner. :)
-
Good afternoon!

Wordle: 5/6

Belated HHW Anniversary greetings to all!

Looking forward to seeing "Sami!"

Is an unguent ungentlemanly?
-
Glad it's not more serious, DR John G.
-
I miss former DR Mike Barnum. Does anyone ever hear from him?
No and I should write considering how often I think of him.

As DR Jrand72 pointed out, tomorrow is a holiday. But I will be working.

-
I'm up, I'm up - I think nine hours of sleep total - was up for an hour at around six but fell right asleep at seven.
-
Derek, yes!
-
Yes, someone tell Barnum to come back - Druxy hasn't been here in ages, like probably six months.
-
Larry, so pleased that the SNAP card and Amazon Fresh delivery went well.
-
As for Governor Hogan, he was a very good governor.
Trump didn’t want Covid testing to continue, because he feared if the number of cases increased, it would hurt his re-election prospects.
So,his administration confiscated tests and masks after governors had ordered and received them.
-
Larry Hogan was so furious about it that he managed to bring in thousands of tests for Maryland from South Korea….his wife is from there.
He knew that the Trump FEMA would confiscate them with no warning, so he arranged to fly the Covid tests in secret on a South Korean Airlines flight.
-
Druxy hasn't been here in ages, like probably six months.
He hasn't had any new plays to hawk?
-
He was then smart enough to have our National Guard watch over them so that Jared and company wouldn’t steal them.
We were able to distribute them widely throughout Maryland.
Trump was livid, and he and Hogan have never reconciled, which made me like Hogan even more.
-
That is wild, DR Dear Lurker Iris.
-
Jrand, I wasn’t the original mother of “Tina”.
Our production was performed in Phoenix and Tucson.
It’s very theater oriented, lots of in jokes, and over the top in a good way.
-
I just flew in from Fresno.
-
And boy, are my arms tired.
-
Singdaw, it was such a crazy time, as we all remember.
Hogan was a hero after that incident.
A Hogan Hero.
-
No groaning allowed at HHW.
-
How was Fresno?
I remember putting baggage tags on luggage in the early 80’s.
The 3 letter code for Fresno is FAT.
-
DR IRIS - the best kind of theeder if you can't be on Broadway!
-
warm today....warm tomorrow.
Snow on Saturday. Welcome to Indiana!
-
DR MBARNUM is quiet on Facebook, too, but that could just be the algorithm and I am not seeing his posts.

Jrand, it IS the best kind of theeder!
All of the fun, none of the pressure.

From Jrand:
I can only think of one right now:
Lerner & Loewe's "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Facebook"
Would the number from Company be revised to “TikTok”?
-
Will return later.

This day is flying by like a gazelle singing the Minnie Riperton songbook.

I wonder if the birds would like those high frequencies?

Absolutely! But WILL he actually end up paying anything. :-\
-
I'm at the local Dairy Queen for a late lunch, and they have their music on a 70s station, and they just played the theme from WKRP in Cincinnati...and not just the 60-second version that was played in the show, but the complete full-length version of the song! ;D
-
Just had to share. :)
-
Elmore, how’s Randy doing?
I owe him a phone call.
-
Druxy hasn't been here in ages, like probably six months.
He hasn't had any new plays to hawk?
Bingo!
-
The Dairy Queen radio just played the full length theme from Taxi.
-
DR Elmore, when you posted earlier about the cats playing with the Amazon bags, it made me think about a hilarious cat on YouTube named Maru.
If you’ve never watched his videos, I highly recommend them. He never fails to make me laugh.
-
I just called Randy. He's doing well and in good spirits. He gave me this story:
A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patty Whack.
"Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday."
Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager.
Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.
The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.
Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.
She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?"
The bank manager looks back at her and says, "It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone."

I fell asleep at 4:30 this morning and woke up at 6:30. I then dozed on and off, mostly off, for a couple of hours.

I am falling asleep.

There are apparently many cute kitties on the Internet, and on YouTube specifically.
-
I have learned this today.

From HHW.

But in truth, I think I already knew it.

Just coasting to a new page here.

Slumming, you might say.

I wasn’t feeling myself this morning so I called out of work and went back to bed
-
When I got up finally I paid some bills
-
Went to the pharmacy to puck up my meds
-
Which took FOREVER!
-
They closed the drive through and there had to be 20 people ahead of me
-
I was the only one in a mask
-
Apparently there were about 15 people behind me aS well, including my mother
-
I never saw her but she called me later to say she saw me
-
Not sure why she didn’t call my name
-
Good night, all.
-
Feel better soon, Vixmom.
-
Then I went to Aldi for orange juice
-
I ended up picking up a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving since apparently my mom invited everyone to her house
-
But I’m supplying the dinner
-
And cooking it, obviously
-
My mom has a big house, I do not
-
My SIL , until last year, has hosted all the Thanksgiving dinners so I am fine with this

I didn’t even Wordle this morning

Well midnight has come so I will go to bed so I can get myself to work tomorrow

Good night all

Finished with my viewing, about which more later.

Some music listening coming up.

What else can I tell you?

George inspired me to have Jack in the Box tacos - I did that for my early meal. Not the best batch, but good - I did the regular size - and had some of their good onion rings. I have a sandwich on its way to me now.

Had a nice Eyetalian sandwich from Fat Sal's - pretty good and not too big.

You know, maybe someone should write TCB - this is night two and it's alarming to me that he wouldn't show up for the anniversary.
-
I am here.
-
I have been dealing with medical stuff.
-
I am sorry that I missed the anniversary.
-
I have been here since 11:15.; I am trying to ketchup.

Hi, Tom!
-
I am now on a pain patch along with the hydrocodone.
-
Well, thank goodness. Everyone missed you yesterday.
-
They just did.
-
This cannot be refuted.
-
You can try but will fail.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
At first, the pharmacy wouldn’t fill the prescription for the patch.
-
I've seen them.
-
They're pretty.
-
They smell good.
-
They're filled with words.

I'm full from the sandwich, but it sure was tasty.

I am now on a pain patch along with the hydrocodone.

It just was.

They said it might kill me, among other things.
-
There is no use arguing with me.
-
At first, the pharmacy wouldn’t fill the prescription for the patch.
Oh, no!
-
Let's not take any medicine that might kill us.
-
PAGE NINE DANCE!!

That would be my advice.

Page NINE.

They said it might kill me, among other things.

Fortunately, it hasn't!

So, if I should die, bone of you guys should change your name to mine and sue them for $1.9 billion.
