Well, you've read the notes, the notes had not only the mysteries of the universe, but the mysteries of Blake Edwards' career, and now it is time for you to post until the mysterious cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MAGNANIMOUS!
-
Bk, I didn't know that Blake Edwards directed The Great Escape. ::)
;)
-
I don't know WHAT you're talking about.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, once I got to sleep, but that took forever. I lay awake for several hours before my body finally shut down.
-
It's 40 degrees F in the apartment, but that didn't stop the cats, Stella and Thatch in particular, from excessively romping between 2:30 and 5:00. Annabelle preferred to bury herself in the blankets with me.
-
Today I have a lunch date with my friend Joseph, whom I've not seen in years. We're meeting at a small Thai restaurant around the corner from me.
-
Ron, thanks for the Betty White bloopers. I loved her in Hot in Cleveland, which may be the last comedy series I watched.
-
TOD
Victor/Victoria
Breakfast at Tiffany's
-
DR John G, that article on the asexual tabby was quite interesting. I remain amazed at the number of posts from the NYC Animal Care Centers in which the sex of kittens is undetermined.
-
DR Laura, are you aware of this event with our E&T DR PennyO?

Monday morning greetings! Richard’s phone rang at 6am (spam call). He went back to sleep; I did not.
-
Thank you to DR TCB for the birthday wish for Richard.
-
Blake Edwards also wrote for radio and his name pops up a lot listening to Classic Radio on SiriusXM
He created wrote and directed Richard Diamond Private Detective
Broadway My Beat and Johnny Dollar that he did occasional scripts
-
Good morning

I saw Bill yesterday and he was looking much better

I don’t want to get up.

Good morning, all.

Good morning, friends.
-
And one more.

Two.
-
They haven't called it yet, but it sure looks like Kari Lake is going down to defeat in Arizona.
-
I am quite amazed at that magic trick that DR John G. posted last night.
-
I am never able to figure out how they do these things.
-
We have much s**w on the ground here; many accidents for the morning rush hour.
-
Thanking my lucky stars that I can sit here at home and work.
-
So long as there's Internet.
-
So long as there's Internet, I can watch cat videos.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
I'd better go read today's Notes.
-
I woke up sneezing at 5:09 this morning. Got about an hour of sleep a little later, then more sneezing. Got up and immediately took a Benadryl. I need relief today so I'll be worth something at rehearsal tonight.
It's the third time in the past two weeks I've been through this, which seems strange for this time of year. But the weather and such have hardly been what you'd call normal, either.
-
I'm ready for food. I've two avocados that suddenly ripened yesterday and I'm going to start with some avocado toast. Don't try to stop me.
-
Further on the apparent allergy attacks: I even considered I'd caught a cold those other times, and tested myself for Covid -- for the obvious reasons, but also so I'd know I was in the clear for last week's booster. I've tested negative each time, so no worries there.

Blake Edwards:
High Time
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Experiment in Terror
Days of Wine and Roses
The Pink Panther
10
Victor/Victoria
I need to ketchup on, or watch for the first time, a few additional things. But this list is definitely solid.
-
A package from Kritzerland has arrived.
-
I started making stock yesterday. Will finish the soup for lunch today.
-
My favorite of favorites among Blake Edwards’ films is Victor/Victoria.
-
The aroma of the stock is filling the house.
-
The heat from the stovetop is warming the place.
-
Odd to think I needed the AC last week.
-
It’s drizzling out there. Gray, cold morning.
-
Apropos of nothing...
Just a little thing someone posted to me and now I am posting it to you:

-
I have a small leak.....it will be observed tomorrow by those I hope can fix it.
-
I enjoyed the notes very much. Mr. Blake Edwards has directed some of my favorite films.
I like the lists that everyone has posted already and concur with them.....so I will add only one more that is not included in the notes or anyone's list so far.
THE HAPPY TIME with Miss Debbie Reynolds and Curt Jergens....featuring Mr John Saxon, Miss Mary Astor, Miss Alexis Smith, Miss Estelle Winwood, and in a small role - Mr Troy Donahue at the end of his Universal-International contract period....
There is also a very fancy car driven by John Saxon - I think it's a Mercedes of some kind.....but it gets lots of closeups.
I think the only thing that bothers me about Blake Edwards is how he looks.....one strange bird. And Miss Julie Andrews claiming in her book that he was so handsome and so good looking that women were falling all over him....seems a bit.....strange. But then again, I never saw him in person.

DR Ron, IMD is showing the last two episodes of Magpie Murders as airing on the 13th.
-
We watched Doc Martin instead of Magpie Murders. Did anyone notice if one or both episodes aired last night?
-
Monday morning greetings! Richard’s phone rang at 6am (spam call). He went back to sleep; I did not.

I hadn't either. I follow Dylan Hollis and he's very funny...and a very good musician, too. In a couple of his videos, he's played the piano and the accordion...not at the same time, though. ;)

Patti LuPone is bringing her new concert tour to Austin. I wonder if she’ll come here.
Would you drive to Austin to see her?
Maybe. I’ve seen her onstage three or four times.
-
I wonder if Shucked will also have a song about corn puddin'. To compete with Schmigadoon's.
-
You put the corn in the puddin'
And the puddin' in the bowl.
You put the bowl in your belly
'Cause it's good for the soul.
-
Many a Thanksgiving table will have corn puddin'.

Corn puddin' will take us almost to the next page.

Isn't it thoughtful that way?

Five!

Kitty cleanup is over, and I'm down for the night.

Kitty cleanup and corn pudding.
Not a yum.

I haven't seen my friend Joseph for about 10 years. He works with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players and will conduct their Christmas holiday performances of HMS Pinafore. Lunch was full of gossip and catching up. Since I last saw him for a real visit - not in passing at a performance - he has moved, married, and adopted a beautiful, blind pomeranian puppy.
-
We went to Vanessa's. I had the very spicy chicken-shrimp dumplings and a huge serving of vegetable noodle soup.

Today, I have received a rather heavy package of Indiegogo perks! The heaviness is, of course, due to the conductors score (never published) of Take Me Along. It's single-sided ::) and hand-written (copied) but otherwise quite readable. I actually only got the recording after I selected the score for a perk, so I 'll now be able to follow along and compare the recording with what the songs are really like. :)
-
Nice purchase DR GEORGE.
-
Included in the Indiegogo package were "The Twelve Ds" by Harvey Schmidt, and a copy of a page of the sheet music to "Children Will Listen" corrected (not photocopied) in Sondheim's own hand!
-
AND three Kritzerland released Ben Bagley CDs!
-
Nice George.
-
Also received, but ordered separately, was Liz Callaway's newest recording "To Steve With Love," and the world premiere recording of Knoxville with a score by Ahrens and Flaherty. :)
-
Thanks, Jrand and Jane!
-
I want to know how Knoxville is, George.
-
I want to know how Knoxville is, George.
So do I, but I'm listening to Liz's Sondheim CD first. ;D

Good evening.

Word is that a big drop of votes will be announced in a few minutes. Maybe we'll finally know who won the Arizona elections.

One of the raccoons is bringing babies to my yard every night. I wonder how many fish I have left.

Just stopped in for a quick hello and update.
Will catch up on notes and posts later.
Hope everyone is having a nice evening.

You’re so welcome, Jane!
I am planning to move to Sedona.
This election was very important to me.
-
We almost moved to Sedona. It is beautiful, except we went to Ashland for the charming town. I wouldn't mind being in either place. I look forward to reading more about your move.

Speaking of corn...
Cranberry cornbread, anyone?

:)
-
Good night, friends.

I love it! Charles Addams might have done it.
-
In my Kritzerland box today was a real treasure: The Burt Bacharach Album. New orchestrations from our Elmore to enjoy.
-
It’s official.
AP has called the race for Katie.
Am quite sure the morning news will have "reaction" comments from Kari Lake. She's wacka-doo!
-
Today was a lazy day (more than any in past days).
Feeling a bit "under" but not truly sick.
-
I don't hold out much hope for a turnaround in the House count.
Steve Kornacki laid out the remaining candidates that were leading big who were Republicans, and they will be enough to give 281 seats to Republicans.
-
Am wondering if Trump will truly "announce" a reelection campaign tomorrow.
-
It seems pointless.
-
But, then, "pointless" is Trump's life.
-
I’m loving Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont.
-
But, then, "pointless" is Trump's life.
Amen.
-
I am very thankful for the good news this evening, and I hope the less-than-good news is of minimal impact.
-
In the meantime, Amazon drivers can be such LIARS. (Alert the media!)
Two of us in this household had wholly separate deliveries due today. Both of us got delivery confirmations. Neither of us got the goods. Neither of us got the usual photo of the delivery. Someone was here the whole time, and we can state that no one entered the driveway or left anything in the mailbox or near the front stoop or anywhere else. Nor did they leave anything at the usual suspect place, i.e. at the same number on the wrong street.
The "chat" option on Amazon is wholly inadequate for this, but I left a very direct message on it anyway because I wouldn't dare talk to anyone right now. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
-
Who could resist a movie with such a description?
n the last days of WWII, a band of Allied soldiers trafficking Hitler's remains out of Germany are ambushed by Nazi Werewolf fighters.
It’s called Burial, in case you’re interested.
-
Good luck, ChasSmith.
-
Anybody want to go to Malta? Started a movie called Carmen with Natascha McElhone. The scenery is both rustic and beautiful.
-
But I must sleep.
-
Good night, all.
-
Yes, a pundit said there's no way to hold the house now - and California is apparently semi-responsible for that, where Republicans took the day - one has to presume in Orange County or somewhere like it. Then again, there have been many surprises in this election.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
I watched a new motion picture I'd never heard of - See How They Run. See What They Thought in the notes.
-
Tried watching some of The Mask of Zorro, which I'd never seen, but I found it pretty dire.
-
Dire news, Sire. What's that from?
-
I know - do you?
-
Had a little Rocky Road ice cream - can't eat the pumpkin pie anymore.
-
What else is going on?
-
Is one more bagel in my future?
-
I may have to be weak and do it.
-
I just may have to.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
In other words, perhaps I'll just have it.
-
It’s official.
AP has called the race for Katie.
Halle-freakin'-looya!!

I am not feeling well tonight. I think I need to sleep.
~~~Continued Vibes for Tom!!~~~
Everyone needs to feel WELL!
-
Starting here, starting now.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I personally have seen them.
-
What I have not seen is page eight.
-
The elusive page eight - just like last night.
-
The notes are on the long side again.
-
But they have interesting content.
-
If one is interested, that is.
-
I certainly was.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Not here, not now.
-
Certainly.
-
I have received a lot of spam - more than usual.
-
I don't know a single person who would ever respond to anything that was spamming, so what IS the point?
-
I don't know the point.
-
Sometimes it's good to know the point.
-
Sometimes it's nice when someone else makes a damn post.
-
And yet, here I am, alone in the wilderness.
-
And there we have page eight.
-
Good job, me.
