Well, you've read the notes, the notes were proper and a stranger, and now it is time for you to post until the proper cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PETRICHOR!
-
Text to Tom has been sent.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR George, I am really sorry that happened to you.
-
~~~VIBES~~~ that the dealer can get it sorted for you, and quickly
-
On a more positive note, CONGRATULATIONS on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
-
Hoping we shall soon have an update on DR TCB.
-
So, when you send out a screenplay, what's to stop other people from stealing your ideas?
-
Just curious.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, when I saw your FUCK post, I giggled. Unlike me, you never write such things. But when I read your story about the break-in and theft, plus all the accompanying tsuris, I agree with you. I am so sorry for such a mess.
-
I had a very quiet evening, but once the lights were turned off, three cats went bananas and refused to settle down no matter how much I screamed and yelled and threw things.
-
Around 3:00, both Thatch and Stella crawled into bed for a cuddle and left. Around 4:00 a cat approached me and I thought it was Annabelle wanting under the blankets. So, I grabbed the cat and dragged it under the blankets. It wasn't Annabelle; it was Stella, and getting mugged and stuffed under a pile of blankets scared the shit out of her. Then, it pissed her off.
Realizing my mistake and fighting off lethal claws, I let her escape. Annabelle showed up around 5:00 and stayed with me until the alarm rang.
-
DR vixmom, I have DR TCB's phone number. I will email it to you.
-
I have no real plans today. I may get to the nightstand drawers today, and I need to check the wheels on a bin of dry cat food.
-
Ann and Jen leave for Italy today. I will miss them.
-
Good morning, all.
-
This site fell off the Internet at 7:36 AM Eastern (4:36 Pacific) — just after DR Elmore’s post above — and remained unreadable till about five minutes ago. That’s about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
-
What’s weird is that Kritzerland.com stayed up. That’s the first time I’ve seen them not both go offline together.
-
Yes, I tried several times to access HHW and failed. Welcome back!
-
;)
-
After a couple of years, the NY State Lottery has brought Cyrus back for the holidays. I love this commercial! The YouTube commercial is complete; the current one running begins at 0:18, "good night, Cyrus."
Thanks, again!
Thanks, Larry. And it really wasn't that horrible an experience. The CDs and tapes weren't mine (yet) sad the window is fixable. It's just...why do people do such things. :-\
shocking and frustrating story from DR GEORGE last night.
vibes for getting through it all!
-
And congrats to DR GEORGE on his new millstone.
-
I did not like the Pickleball Show last night.....I could only take about 15 minutes of the thing.....I understand the tone they were going for - but it just didn't do it for me.
And the "celebrities" in the first game were BEYOND ANNOYING.
-
-
I received my Harpers Bizarre boxed set....I also got the 2006 Cast Recording of Evita and the Dreamgirls soundtrack.....so I shall hear some music today.
-
George, so sorry about your theft and damage.
-
Keith and I know how you felt.
-
Bruce, not sure if you recall we barely made it to the HHW Dupars gathering as our window was smashed in the hotel parking garage. Oddly nothing was stolen. I remember going one place to vacuum the car and another to get it replaced. Fortunately the weather was nice.
-
It was bery shocking to wind the window had been smashed.
The digital versions of the new Funny Girl and Sondheim Unplugged Volume 3 drop today.
I didn't know that Funny Girl had been recorded at all! The physical CD will be released in January. I've ordered that. :)
-
I had two phone numbers for DR TCB. One is not receiving calls, and I left a message on the other, hoping I called the correct number. I am concerned that he might have fallen and cannot get to the phone.
-
I couldn't get on this morning
No one could. Did you get my email?
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
George, sorry about your car. You’ve had enough cDs taken from you.
-
Just finished helping package Thanksgiving meals to be given away.
-
It was fairly well organized and fun.
-
We put cans of yams, green beans and corn as well as a box of mac and cheese, stuffing, potatoes, gravy and rolls in each.
-
George, sorry about your car. You’ve had enough cDs taken from you.
Thanks, John.
-
Someone in the group had the good idea to double-check the bags, and three of us set about it. We each found two bags with items missing.
-
Three!
-
Since we finished early, I decided to stop at a favorite Salvadoran seafood place. Haven’t been here since before the pandemic.
-
TOD:
I need to watch more of The Gilded Age.
-
I don’t know when. I’m ushering a Christmas concert tonight featuring the Drifters and the Coasters.
-
YAMS MISSING should be the headline.
-
Thanks for the theatrical update, Vixmom.
-
YAMS MISSING should be the headline.
Yams left out.
-
Good morning!
-
Hoping that TCB is okay.
-
Sorry to hear about your car, DR George.
-
Wordle: 6/6 I didn't think I'd get it today. Never heard of today's word.
-
I also had trouble getting on HHW this morning.
-
Some excellent news for a Friday coming out of Washington DC just now.
DR George, what happened to your car is a nightmare by any standard.
Here's hoping the dealership gets it completely and perfectly taken care of in short order.
-
Friday afternoon greetings!
This site fell off the Internet at 7:36 AM Eastern (4:36 Pacific) — just after DR Elmore’s post above — and remained unreadable till about five minutes ago. That’s about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
That explains why I was unable to open this site earlier.
-
DR George, I’m so sorry about what happened with your car.
-
On Wednesday I had my first appointment with a new primary care physician. She has taken over for our long-time provider after his retirement. Then yesterday I had every woman’s second least favorite screening (normal results), dinner with 2 girlfriends, and a book group meeting.
-
Today I had a long overdue haircut and picked up groceries and a prescription at Kroger.
-
This is entirely too much excitement for me!
-
Does anyone know how to contact any friend of DR TCB and ask them to check on him? I am worried.
-
BK, do you know about this?
DR Jane - may you have FUN today!
I am thank you.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
elmore, I was just about to post that article. Yes, this deal has been in the works for several years now - first with Broadway Records and Van Dean (he sold the label, but he's still there). They couldn't make a deal (Broadway Records) because there were no contracts and they needed those. Well, I had them - we made a deal and I spent ages looking for them and could only find one of the two binders. Then he sold the label and I never heard from him again, which pissed me off because I paid someone to look for that stuff and he was supposed to cover that.
-
A year or so later, Sean Flahavan called me and asked about the contracts. I told him what I'd been through with Van and that I wasn't interested in going on a hunt again without a firm deal in place (I had one with Van, but...). We worked it out and the fact is I'd already found one binder and then I got lucky and found the other one. They paid me a fee, and I got back and own the Haines His Way album and the right to issue any Guy Haines track from the other albums he did, either separately or on one CD, for free. That was a year ago and now it's a done deal. I also think there's the possibility of resurrecting Lost in Boston and while they wouldn't guarantee it, I do think he'll come to me to produce it should it happen.
-
Someone in the group had the good idea to double-check the bags, and three of us set about it. We each found two bags with items missing.
Oh, no! >:(
-
Sorry to hear about your car, DR George.
Thanks, Kevin.
-
DR George, I’m so sorry about what happened with your car.
Thanks, Ginny.
-
FOUR!!!!
-
Exciting licensing news, BK.
-
Looking forward to re-visiting a lot of these albums. I purchased all of them originally, but can't always put my hands on the physical copies now.
-
It would be very exciting if the "Lost in Boston" series became available again. Or was added to.
-
Ned Rorem has died at age 99.
-
Besides the "Lost in Boston" series, what was the other multi-volume series? Geesh, my brain...
-
Wordle: 6/6 I didn't think I'd get it today. Never heard of today's word.
It’s what we used to call Prince when he went by a symbol instead of a name.
-
Besides the "Lost in Boston" series, what was the other multi-volume series? Geesh, my brain...
Unsung Musicals.
-
Great news, BK.
-
Unsung Musicals.
That's it! Thank you.
-
Unsung Musicals.
That's it! Thank you.
That’ll be $5. Or a slice of pie.
-
99 is all you can really ask for - Rorem is a very interesting fellow and interesting composer, and it was fun to issue his score to Panic in Needle Park.
-
Mmmm.... Pie.
-
Can one Venmo a slice of pie?
-
That is what I am pondering.
-
Ned Rorem has died at age 99.
Wow...99 years old! Hope it was a good 99 years!
-
I believe so. He documented many of them in his published diaries.
-
Well, I just got a text from Tom. He hasn't posted because he's sick...alive, but not feeling well at all. :(
-
And now, I'm off to my mom's. I have to take the back roads because evidently there's an accident on I-5 and everything's backed up. :o
Be back later.
-
Thanks for seeking and sharing the DR TCB update, DR George!
-
~~~CONTINUED HEALING VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!
-
Well, I've now added all 24 of the newly available albums to my Apple Music library. Some of them took a bit of creative searching, but now I've got 'em all.
-
Nice to have all the Trotter Sondheim albums, too.
-
Well, I just got a text from Tom. He hasn't posted because he's sick...alive, but not feeling well at all. :(
:(
-
DR George thanks for texting TCB and letting us know how he is.
-
MEGA GET WELL VIBES FOR DR TCB!
-
Whew - yez good newz.
-
We are supposed to get some feels like temps in the single digits tonight......but no s**w.
-
Very exciting recording release release!
There a couple of titles they may be interested in that are not on the list:
Jack Sings Annette!
Jack & His Accordion - Themes From Carroll Baker Films
The Sabre Dance - The Jack Philharmonic (with choreography notes)
Music From Gypsy - The Jack Three Piece Band (Piano, Stool, and Cover)
-
I believe all of these are at the present time unlicensed.
-
Hello, all. Yes, it's my one post for the day.
I don't know where the day got to.
Am recovering nicely from my surgical procedure of yesterday morning.
Am actually chewing soft foods.
-
I started page 5, so I will wish you all a fond good night.
It's gonna be cold here again tonight.
But thank goodness we have no snow.
-
Glad you are doing all right, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
I would pay to hear those, DR Jrand72!
-
Good night, friends.
-
The Drifters, The Platters and The Coasters did not draw a large crowd, but they gave an excellent concert. And the audience was very vocal.
Songs included Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Only You, Shout, White Christmas and Under the Boardwalk.
-
Mega vibes for Tom.
-
Thank you, George, for the update.
-
I once saw Ned Rorem in concert. It was about 30 years ago. I don’t remember what of his works was on the program, but I did enjoy it.
-
Thank you George for letting us know about Tom
-
I’m sorry he’s sick but relieved it wasn’t worse, after the Bill incident I was imagining nightmare scenarios
-
Elmore, I just found your email, I get so much spam these days it was buried in the midst of junk
-
Elizabeth Holmes got more than 11 years in prison for Theranos. She doesn’t have to report until April. Seems she’s pregnant and is being allowed to remain free until after the baby is born. I hope they keep a sharp watch on her.
-
Vixdad and I will be attending a Doctor Who convention this weekend
-
Good night, all.
-
Well, happy that George heard, but yes, after three days, everyone is imagining nightmare scenarios. Hope he's better soon.
-
And now, I'm off to my mom's. I have to take the back roads because evidently there's an accident on I-5 and everything's backed up. :o
Be back later.
Yup, there was a back-up. And even though I took the back roads (paved, of course), it still took me 45 minutes to get to my mom's! :o
-
I don't know what happened, but the north bound I-5 was still slow going when I left my mom's, and fortunately, was heading south.
-
I have no idea what happened. I couldn't have just been traffic.
-
Thanks for seeking and sharing the DR TCB update, DR George!
You're welcome, Singdaw! Glad he was able to respond!
-
DR George thanks for texting TCB and letting us know how he is.
You're welcome, Jane!
-
Thank you, George, for the update.
You're welcome, John.
-
Thank you George for letting us know about Tom
You're welcome, Vixmom.
-
Vixdad and I will be attending a Doctor Who convention this weekend
Cool! Have a great time!
-
So, when we play cards at my mom's, we always eat, snack, nosh, etc.
-
Tonight was no exception...EXCEPT that after everyone else had left (MOST fortunately), I very quickly started to feel not good!
-
I don't know what I ate that caused it, but for the first time in literally 30 years, I threw up!
-
I tossed my cookies (well, chips and dip, actually)! :o
-
All I can say is that I felt better after it was all done, but of course, not during!
-
I managed to get home without any trouble, and I was able to take my evening meds with a low carb protein drink.
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
So, I've been napping a bit after I got home, but I just now had to upchuck AGAIN! :o
-
I can only hope that it's all done, because I don't want to go through this all night!
-
My bedroom is up on my 3rd floor (it's a loft above the official master bedroom), and my bathroom is down on the second floor.
-
FORTUNATELY (again), I was able to make it downstairs in time.
-
If this happens again, I'm going to sleep on my recliner downstairs with the light on so that I can see where I need to go.
-
I sleep with a sleep mask that blocks out light quite well, so that won't keep me awake.
-
WTH?? :-\
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Right on time.
-
No one can say they were late.
-
Not a single person.
-
Well, someone could say it, but then I'd have to bellow in my best Charles Laughton voice, LIAR!
-
And I can do it, believe me.
-
I've been known to do it.
-
And I can dog it again.
-
Dog it again?
-
Why I oughta...
-
All right, clearly we're not getting to even page seven tonight, after setting all kinds of records for most of this month.
-
Page seven is somewhere.
-
I feel it.
-
George could help in that regard, but he's down some rabbit hole or other.
-
I haven't.
-
I have resisted.
-
Okay, this is stupid - we should have been on page seven ages ago.
-
I am now officially bored.
-
Continual gaslighting.
-
See?
-
This page now has about 200 posts on it.
-
And still nothing.
-
Finally a finale.
