Well, you've read the notes, the notes told the Playboy story and the finding of Kristeen, and now it is time for you to post until the found cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HEADWAY!
-
That's a great story (with a happy ending, even) about finding and reconnecting with Kristeen! Can't wait to read the book!

But retirement is still more than three years away….

So far, so good this morning. Yesterday morning was hell, then the day improved, and the afternoon went to hell when Amazon delivered three orders of mine to some building, just not mine. The worst part was dealing with customer service, who gave me a refund for two of the orders, I even old the lady with whom I was communicating that she had omitted the third order for refund. She apologized, we ended the communication, and two hours later I got a credit for two orders. WTF?
-
Which is unlikely for multiple reasons
-
Not the least being I haven’t bought a ticket in months
-
I must play the lottery this morning.
-
Maybe I’ll Wordle , why not?
-
Today is another tax day, since I must accomplish the things I meant to do yesterday.

TOD
Sorta.
Yesterday evening I took out something I'd been wanting to check on for a while (for two reasons): the laserdisc release of The Day of the Triffids (1963). First, I'd only seen it once in the 60s, and again when I first got this copy some 20 years ago. Second, just to see what shape it's in, since it has never had another release - except for home-brewed DVD copies people have made.
I really need to clean my player inside and out, but fortunately the thing played decently all the way through. The movie itself is not great, and the transfer is nothing like what we expect nowadays, but it's pretty good in that comfort-food old-sci-fi-film way. I love the John Wyndham book, though, just like The Midwich Cuckoos (Village of the Damned), and the later British TV mini-series is much more faithful to it. I shall have to take that out and watch it next.
-
Later I turned on TCM for something to watch in bed and get drowsy to, and they were playing the incredible Laurel and Hardy feature, The Music Box. You know, the one about delivering the piano up the stairs. Genius. Pure perfection. If these guys had never made another film, this one would nevertheless have made them immortal.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Lottery vibes for all.
-
I have a feeling the only lottery I would ever win would have been for the draft
-
Good morning, friends.

MichaelG, Hitchcock’s only musical was called Waltzes from Vienna. It stars Edmund Qwenn as a dour Johann Strauss Sr., who hates his son’s music. Jessie Matthews is a warbling songbird. It may have been his last contract job before coming to America.

MichaelG, congratulations on that review!

Congratulations, ChasSmith, on your sleuthing.

Why does toilet paper need a television commercial?
Seriously, is there any consumer who isn't already buying it?

That's what I'd like to know.

These are the things I ponder.

I only have to buy it for guests.

Lottery luck for DR ELMORE.

DR Rodzinski, have you come across this one in your travels?

Thanks! I never had heard of that one. I've recently been finding Kurt Weill's Hollywood movies on YouTube so I'll need to search for this one after I watch those.

TOD: Another of my jazz anthologies that I haven't listened to in ages. This one is Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology. I'm moving backward through it so currently on Disc 3 of 6. I skipped 4 since I have nearly all those tracks on the original albums.

Have you seen You and Me? George Raft, Sylvia Sidney and several Weill songs. Very interesting movie.

We have been watching one episode a night.

I'm up, I'm up - a bit over eight hours of sleep.

I've just watched the scenes with the songs so far. I need to watch the whole thing. The same thing with Where Do We Go From Here? and One Touch of Venus. Knickerbocker Holiday is only there in a version with a distorted aspect ratio.
-
Also on the tv schedule for tonight is Mr. Bates vs The Post Office.
-
Today has been quite pleasant, the complete opposite of yesterday.
-
I am now on season 5 of Brothers & Sisters, but, except for a few good scenes, it's a mess. The first four seasons were so good, but I can see why there was no season 6.

Oh, yes, the sleep thing may have something to do with it.
I long to sleep like DR Ron!

Gratuitous Post #111!!! :D
-
The “excitement” here was the leak in one of the hot water pipes under the building. Our mail has been wet for several weeks now. We did have a monsoon, but it was wet even on dry days. Then the manager found water in the vacant apartment that they just spent $$$ renovating. They had to rip out some walls and floors to fix the leak. Water was turned off this morning, but back on about noon. They’re still trying to dry things out.
-
You can see how exciting my life has been and why I have little to report.

Vibes to all.

Oh my, but I never expected wet mail.

This week there was a story in the paper that the owners of Beaches will be retiring and closing the restaurant. It put us in the mood to eat dinner there tonight.
-
I ordered a salmon burger with coleslaw and fries that is no longer on the menu. I enjoyed it very much and am pleased to have had it again. I wanted it one last time.

George & Rodzinski did you receive your primary ballots today?
I am going to vote for a Rebublican, just deciding between Christie & Haley.
-
Does anyone else live in a state where you can vote for either party in the primary?

Vibes to all.
Sending vibes to you, Jeanne!

Haven’t checked the mail yet. I like this plan. Strategically, one would want to uplift Haley as much as possible to keep her as a factor, force Orangeman to have to keep spending, etc.

Good question.

But why can we vote for either party in the primary? Would seem to be a bad idea for just this reason.
-
BK, any of those Playboy segments viewable online? I bet there’s hilarity there.
-
They're not online - I do have them all on 3/4" video, however.
-
But why can we vote for either party in the primary? Would seem to be a bad idea for just this reason.
It is odd and took me awhile to get used to it. I believe Ohio is the same, can't recall which other states do it.

“Once the primary is over, the Democrat party will give delegates to every candidate who gets at least 15 percent of the vote. The more votes they get will determine how many delegates they receive.”
Probably best for me to stick Dem and max out Joe’s delegates.

I could go for a salmonburger.

I vacuumed for the first time in too long. The machine collected an insane amount of debris.

Projecting, I see.

It's been a busy day.
-
This morning I weeded for a couple of hours. Got the plants out where they belong. Trimmed around some plants and saw some welcome signs of spring.
-
One of the bougainvilleas is ready to blossom. It's a lovely mix of pink and green.
-
The yard guy is coming to mow tomorrow.
-
I just realized that I'm not quite ready. I have to go roll in the water hose.
-
One more ...

Six!
-
Hi, Vixmom! Did you get a winning lottery ticket?
-
This afternoon I went to the library, the drug store and the grocery, all fascinating beyond words.
-
Today is Joy's 76th birthday. So, a bunch of us dance students went out to dinner. Excellent Sichuan food.
-
There was one dish that Joy loves that did not go over the majority of folks. They didn't care for squid, fish ball or Asian meat ball, which made up a lot of the dish.
-
But the rest was good. Sesame chicken, green beans, Mongolian chicken, beef with snow peas, crispy spicy chicken, shrimp fried rice, spicy fish stew, cucumber salad, sauteed peanuts, chicken with broccoli, chicken lo mein, Singapore noodles and more. We shared everything family style.
-
Then it was a night of dancing.
-
Now I'm home. Ready for rest.
-
Good night, all.
-
John G could have danced all night.
-
But he did not.
-

Oh, my goodness! :o
-
I have a similar situation in my garage.
-
It snowed and had been raining a couple of weeks ago, and there was water in my garage.
-
But when it stopped raining and snowing, there still was water on my garage floor!
-
Here's what it looks like:
-
Here's another picture:
-
I called Tumwater Utilities and they came out to look at the water meter.
-
The meter showed that no water was running, which, meant that the pipes in the ground had not burst. WHEW!!
-
But since there still was water, it has to come from somewhere.
-
I need to let the property manager when I'm available next week so that someone else can look at my garage to see where the water might be coming from. :-\
-
Hopefully, someone can figure out what's going on!
-
But the good news is that because it's not a burst pipe underground, it's most likely not going to cost me anything.
-
So...
-
...let's...
-
...get...
-
...going...
-
...and...
-
...get...
-
...to...
