Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Mother's Day and mothers, and now it is time for you to post until the mother cows come home.

Notes imbibed. Quenched.

Mr. Munch, do you see a figure screaming, or a basset hound?

That was a beautiful cake, George
-
I have church today
-
Then this afternoon I am going out to my moms and we’ll have a video chat with the Vixter
-
Then we’re going out for Italian food.
-
There’s a tiny little pizzeria/restaurant right here in town that makes wonderful food.
-
Vixdad hates Italian food, and can’t even abide the aromas in Italian restaurants
-
So as a gift he’s treating my mom and I to dinner but he’ll stay home so we can enjoy some of our favorite food.
-
Well I had better get ready for church but I’ll try a quick wordle first
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a Happy Mothers Day to y'all.

And perhaps a couple of us have even exclaimed "Mamma mia!" on occasion.

Good morning, all!

I slept in. My left foot still bothers me, and I'm sleeping poorly, so I decided to splurge and ignopre the alarm. 70 minutes later I got up, dressed, and fed the cats. Then I had a nice breakfast: eggs over easy, English muffin, and coffee.

the nice neighbpor across the hall has died. I don't know how old Johnny was, but rumor says he was a tenant here for sixty years. In 2020, he caught Covid, and that was the beginning of the ned. He was away from the building for months, and I told neighbors I feared we would never see him again. Then he was suddenly returned by a medical group of what looked like 6-10 paramedics. Two weeks later he was back in hospital. When he did return, he had a home healthcare worker who, my neighbor Judy says, stole items along with his credit cards and bank account. He had several more long hospital stays, and he died several weeks ago. His family from New Jersey cleaned out the apartmetn a week ago, and I expect the management will spemd tim,e very soon upgrading the apartment.
-
I am taking it very easy again today and most of the week. I have no appointments and no reason to leave the apartment.
-
DR ELMORE very sad about your neighbor.

Roger Corman! Not of this earth any more.

DR singdaw I liked your pun.

How awful!
-
And especially disturbing if his home healthcare worker was taking advantage in that way.
-
It raises concern: Was there ever an investigation, or was it ever reported to the healthcare worker's company, so that the worker doesn't do the same to others in the future?
-
It's possible that the person who was ill knew about it, and may have given an OK to the use of the credit card or access to the bank account.
-
But hoping that if something dishonest actually happened, that it was reported to someone with authority to take action or investigate it.

My sympathies, Larry, on your neighbor.

The former President actually said this at a rally yesterday:
"Silence of the Lambs. Has anyone ever seen The Silence of the Lambs? The late, great Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man. He often times would have a friend for dinner. Remember the last scene? ‘Excuse, me, I’m about to have a friend for dinner,’ as the poor doctor walked by. ‘I’m about to have a friend for dinner.’ But Hannibal Lecter. Congratulations. The late, great Hannibal Lecture."

I’m not yet caught up…but here’s my repor
Wow!
I emptied and reloaded the dishwasher and started it,
started a loading of laundry,
went to Mom's, had a video call with the kids,
went to dinner ( veal marsala and angel hair pasta and tiramisù for me, manicotti. Tiramisù and cannoli for mom)
Took mom to the Dollar store for stuff she wanted,
drove her home and put her stuff away,
just dropped some stuff in the storage unit
and went off to Kohls to return an Amazon purchase
-
So I did an Amazon return at Kohls and they give you a 10% off Sephora coupon ( besides doing your free return!)
I needed a new eyeshadow because I dropped mine and it broke up, so I wandered over to the Sephora section
-
Turns out the shade I want is being discontinued or repackaged or something …
In any event it was reduced from $10 to $3.50
I bought 6...
it cost $20.53 with tax, after the coupon discount , less than it would have cost for 2.
I love a bargain.
At my age that should be a lifetime supply
-
Assuming I don’t drop them.
-
Then I went home and made some tea
-
Also I found the new tablecloth for the kitchen table ,which I ordered last night, had arrived and was sitting on top of my deck box
-
The one with the sign that reads
“Please put all packages inside this box, Thank you”
-
Ah well
-
Then I watched a documentary on PBS about the Manhattan theatre club.
-
We had the final performance of the first weekend of The King in Yellow.
-
Then I watched a Great Performances show (which included frequent interruptions for a begathon) with musical numbers from Broadway shows from the 1970’s to the 2020’s
-

That's great, Vixmom!

Then Vixdad and I decided to drive out ti a north shore beach to see if we could see the northern lights

But the powers that be had blocked off the entrance with two rows of barricades
-
So we came home , unsuccessful in our quest

Extreme ridic.

Godzilla-style ridic.

Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?

Page six is ridic.
-
For The King in Yellow, we had a decent audience.
-
I think there only 16, but we had several people give a standing O!
-
Not the whole audience, just a few, so they genuinely felt that the cast deserved it.
-
Our stage manager Kris was back, so everything on the tech side went very smoothly.
-
It turns out that she went to a celebration of life for a friend who had passed away a couple of months ago. :(
-
Good morning, all
-
I found red currants for sale yesterday. I see them so rarely I had to grab them. They brought back fond memories of eating them while strolling through Venice.
-
The King in yellow?
What a quaere fellow!
-
A lyric from “The Fairy Fellow’s Master Stroke” by Queen.
-
(Only the real lyric is “the nymph in yellow”)
-
From the LP “Queen II”
-
For my money the most over-the-top, bonkers album ever produced.
-
There are like 14 Freddy Mercury voices whizzing through each speaker at any given moment.
-
And then they have the audacity to brag on the inner sleeve, “No synthesizers were used on this album.”
-
The King in yellow?
What a quaere fellow!
;D
-
No, just ridiculous multi-tracking, stacking and other audio madness.
-
There are like 14 Freddy Mercury voices whizzing through each speaker at any given moment.
Oh, my! :D

That said, it’s so crazy, it’s probably the best Queen album.

Did George have his burrito?
-
If not, what DID he have?
-
Beef bits on toast?
-
Cracked crab?
-
Irish stew?
-
Did George have his burrito?
No, I had a Big Mac, but I still have some leftover vegetarian enchiladas that my sister made that I will probably have a little later.
-
Armenian pizza?
-
Glad the tech went well today, G!
-
The page of Sevens.
-
French onion soup?
-
Crepe suzette?
-
Perhaps swift work could be made of this page.
-
Risotto?
-
Oh, I just heard this very minute that I do not care for page seven.
-
Phil Rizzutto played for the Yankees.
-
I'm sure we can get off this damn page as long as George doesn't do his usual disappearing act.
-
We haven't had a food report, after all.

Oh heck, here’s a link if you want to try.

I don't think that I've ever heard that song before.
-
Perhaps he's eating a liverwurst sandwich.
-
BK, are there any producers of the rock and roll music that you admire in any fashion?
-
Glad the tech went well today, G!
Thanks, Rodzinski! It should (better ;) ) be smooth sailing for the rest of the run!
-
Granted, Rupert Holmes produced a few rock acts, and you admire him.
-
Crepe suzette?
I've had crepes, but I don't think I've had crepe suzettes before.
-
There’s a good documentary about the band Sparks. It’s good in that they discuss each of their 27 or whatever albums. But I was sad they didn’t get a clip of Rupert talking about the one he produced.
-
I'm sure we can get off this damn page as long as George doesn't do his usual disappearing act.
No, I'm here.
-
What makes a crepe “suzette “?
-
It's slow for me, but I know it's on my end...EVERYTHING is slow for me, right now. :P
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
Perhaps he's eating a liverwurst sandwich.
NEVER! :P :P :P
-
I enjoy liverwurst under the name “braunschweiger.”
-

That's too bad.
-
What makes a crepe “suzette “?
Does someone named Suzette have to make it?
-
Yes, Roy Hallee, who produced the Simon and Garfunkel albums. Phil Ramone. Lenny Waronker.
-
Took Mrs R to see her parents, then took her and the youngsters to a nice dinner in a little Canadian town nearby.
-
I'm sure there are others.
-
I enjoy liverwurst under the name “braunschweiger.”
Just the idea of meaty pastes like that gross me out.
-
Listening to the amazing Paul Desmond.
-
Did George say what he ate?
-
What he ate will be on page eight.
-
Perhaps it was pork rinds?
-
Lamb shanks?
-
Veal Oscar?
-
Good lord, if you want to hear a great-sounding record, listen to Waronker’s production of Gordon Lightfoot’s “Sundown.”
-
I used to love Veal Oscar.
-
Waronker produced all the great Randy Newman albums early on.
-
Sounded great on a 45, coming through an AM transistor radio, or on a high-end digital soundsystem.
-
Did George say what he ate?
Yes, he did, and he posted it here:
Did George have his burrito?
No, I had a Big Mac, but I still have some leftover vegetarian enchiladas that my sister made that I will probably have a little later.
;)
-
Page 8, it must be said.
-
I've had terrible luck with Big Macs - they just gross me out now.
-
I used to love them.
-
I really did.
-
There will not be a pick-up rehearsal for The King in Yellow this week.
-
A great Paul Desmond record I think I still have is called “Easy Living.”
-
I've been very good about not eating anything late in the evening for the past couple of weeks.
-
We're going to go back on Friday and have our show.
-
I’ve never had a Big Mac.
-
I have all the Desmond albums - he's in the notes and I call out my favorites.
-
Quarter Pounders all day.
-
Right about this time last year, I was in rehearsal/performances for Sunday in the Park with George at South Puget Sound Community College.

I’ve never had a Big Mac.
Is that by choice or circumstance?
-
Red Hot and Blue by Brubeck.
-
I’ve never had a Big Mac.

Just never wanted all that bread.

This year, the show that SPSCC is doing is Amélie.

Right about this time last year, I was in rehearsal/performances for Sunday in the Park with George at South Puget Sound Community College.
I recall those days!
-
Next page, so near.
-
I’ve never had a Big Mac.
Is that by choice or circumstance?
Just never wanted all that bread.
You can get a McDouble and ask for the Big Mac sauce...practically the same taste with less bread.
-
Or get the Quarter Pounder without ketchup and mustard and add the Big Mac sauce...I've done that a few times. :)
-
Just stuck in my Double Quarter Pounder ways, I guess.
-
Ninth Page!
-
Also not into special sauce.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They're cool.
-
Just stuck in my Double Quarter Pounder ways, I guess.
I don't like double burgers with lots of burger...I prefer the thin patties if they're going to be doubled.
-
Also not into special sauce.
Well, that's a perfectly good reason not to have one. ::)
;)
-
They're cool.
But are they Jerome Robbins reeeeeal cool?
;D
