Well, you've read the notes, the notes were enjoyable and rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the rehearsed cows come home.

And the word of the day is: CONCATENATE!

Good morning, friends.
-
That was quite a tale from yesterday, DR vixmom.
-
~~~CONTINUED RECUPERATION VIBES~~~ for the vixdad!!!
.
-
OK. I'll be a millionaire.
-
If you insist.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, and the cats behaved. Who could ask for anything more?
-
Last night I watched the American Ballet Theatre production of Le Corsaire, which was based on Byron's epic poem, The Corsair. I found it rather silly, and so did the production team, but the dancing was wonderful. I think ABT regarded it as a swash-buckling romp, and Ethan Stiefel looked like he was having a fantastic time storming harems, fighting villains, and surviving a shipwreck to rescue the woman he loves.
-
At some point today, I will see Joshie, who will pick up the ocerture and bring me another score.
-
DR vixmom, your days sounded like a lot of fun and frustration. I'm so happy you survived it all. I hope vixdad is feeling better today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Back to rehearsal today, then another spring concert tomorrow night.
-
Vixmom, that hotel screwup sounds horrible. I’m glad it got worked out.
That was some tale yesterday DR VIXMOM. A bit of everything.
I am glad it had an eventual happy ending.
-
I have three news articles to write, so I shall get started on them.
-
Minnesota did indeed beat the Nuggets last night to move on in the NBA tournament.
-
Nothings happened between my last post early this morning and now
That hotel story sounds like it must have been so frustrating, and so glad it had an ending involving a room upgrade!
-
At some point today, I will see Joshie, who will pick up the ocerture and bring me another score.
Great that work is coming in for you!
More get-well vibes for vixdad!
They call it the Tick Tack Club, which sounds like they're playing on the Kit Kat Club from CABARET.
Good morning.
Randy Rainbow has a new song.
From Vixmom:
Great upgrade, which they deserved, after all of that stress.
Continued get well vibes for DR Vixdad who had to miss all of the fun.
Joshie has picked up the overture and dropped off a song from the Irish Rep's production of The Streets of New York. He told me that if I finished it this week, he has an Irish medley for me to do.
Dennis Deal, who was the arranger and MD for many of Ben Bagley's later Revisited recordings, has died. I really loved him. I copied things for him before he and Ben started sending me thing to orchestrate to meet a deadline. He was charming, talented, and as I got busier we lost touch. I hadn't seen him in close to forty years. It's sad to see how time and friends get past you and sadder to realize how many roads in hell were paved with your good intentions. RIP, dear Dennis.
One of my favorite birding spots outside of Phoenix is at risk of a wildfire. The air is smoky and windy. Not good.
My condolences. I never like hearing of these good and talented people leaving us.
And I'm quite familiar with those roads in hell.
-
Irish Rep has done The Streets of New York before - but it's not the off-B'way musical version that we released - entirely different thing. I wish someone would do the off-B'way one.
Who'da thunk it??
And then, I totally got this script-vocal score on a whim:
-
I made a post on Facebook about the second rehearsal - I do this for every show. I just got a notice that they took down the post because I was pimping for likes and shares. Say what? You can contest it, which I did immediately, ticking the box that said the post did NOT violate their rules and that it was simply an informative post (the second selection you can choose). I was furious. Literally ten seconds later they reinstated the post and apologized for "getting it wrong."
LOL, right. My brain just doesn't go there.
I had the CD for this in my wish list on Amazon, but no copies are available at all, so I could only get the script-score.
I'm glad they apologized. Was this on your personal FB page or elsewhere & it was the group administrator that removed it?
-
I just went to FB and the first post there was on your personal page mentioning the rehearsal.
-
Because every single thing on Facebook isn’t angling for likes and shares!
-
That’s rich, I tell ya!
-
Jane, yes, my personal page. About yesterday's rehearsal. They took it down for three hours and put it back up in ten seconds.
I blame Mark Zuckerberg.
Watched the Audra McDonald concert from the London Palladium on Great Performances (PBS). She was fabulous.
DR elmore3003, do you know her music director, Andy Einhorn?
I couldn't find a credit for the concert's orchestrator.
Good night, friends.
Good news from DR singdaw.
-
DR ELMORE sorry to hear about your friend.
-
But I am happy about the work coming your way.
-
Facebook is terrible....in so many ways.
-
Act One without books for the first time....two hours and 10 minutes....so it's getting better.
-
It was nice of so many folks to show up......
-
I liked the Randy Rainbow video.....but I am so sad and upset and unoptimistic about the situation, that I find it hard to laugh sometimes.
-
Nice weather we're having.
Oh, and I'm home...and it's only Page FOUR?? :o
-
Not MY fault!!
-
Oh, look! It's Page Five!
-
Page five. I blame Jose.
-
But there's an hour to go, so let's have some reportage.
-
I had Taco Bell for lunch. 1000 calories, maybe a bit less.
-
But at nine, not only was I hungry, I needed some soup to soothe my throat - so much damn phlegm. In fact, rather than take my allergy pill at midnight, which is what I've been doing, I'll take a 12-hour Mucinex-D, which will definitely help cut the phlegm.
-
So, let's have some reportage from dear George.
-
Don't just sit there like a fried bean.
-
Say something.
-
DO something.
-
I had Taco Bell for lunch. 1000 calories, maybe a bit less.
What a coinkydink! After the show tonight, I drove through Taco Bell and had a Beef Burrito with extra beef. :)
-
Rise to the occasion.
-
My friend Shelly came to the show and she enjoyed it.
-
She didn't understand a couple of things...it took me several watchings to understand most (if not all) of it. ::)
-
I need to ask pug to explain it all to me so that I can explain it to Shelly (or Margo, if she sees it next weekend).
-
Uh oh...The Doomsday Glacier in Antarctica is melting faster than scientists thought (https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/the-doomsday-glacier-in-antarctica-is-melting-faster-than-scientists-thought/ar-BB1mJt2d?OCID=ansmsnnews11)!
-
So yesterday, I did a couple of loads of laundry.
-
But for the second load, I forgot to put the clothes in the dryer, so they were in the washing machine all night. ::)
-
I rewashed them and actually put them in the dryer, but when I got home tonight, they were still a little damp. :P
-
So, I turned on the dryer again to make sure that they're completely dry and I won't have to wash them for a third time.
-
And now, they're drying.
-
Well, this is cool! It's audio of "Hit It, Lorraine" from the opening night (April 15th 1971) of 70, Girls, 70 on Broadway with Mildred Natwick, Hans Conried, etc.:
-
And this is fun...someone took "Rose's Turn" from the film version of Gypsy starring Rosalind Russell and dubbed it with Ethel Merman's voice!
;D
-
Tomorrow, my niece is going to come over and help me continue to clean my place.
-
I'm getting some things together to sell at a garage sale that she and her mom (my sister) are going to have this coming weekend.
-
I went through (with much prodding by my niece and my friend Shelly) and did a LOT of laundry over the last week or so, and am going to get rid of some shirts that either no longer fit or "give me joy."
-
I'm still am keeping probably over 100 shirts that still fit and I really like, so it's not as if I won't have anything to wear. ;)
-
My dryer just buzzed, so let me see if they're actually dry!
-
But before I do...
I thought we were ON page six.
How nauseating.
-
Fun to hear Hit It, Lorraine. In our production, it stopped the show cold. One performance I though the applause and cheering would go on forever - they would not stop.
-
Where'd George get to?
Eating cherries flambe?
Eating a shrinking violet?
-
Eating a rib roast?
Where'd George get to?
I'm done eating for the night.
I read this article about a movie about tRump where they filmed a scene where he r-pes his former wife Ivana. :-\
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
Not only that - I do not care for page seven.
I have no desire to see that, either.
Yes, trump doing his deed.
What now?
They've just done a brand new 4K of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg - they'll be showing in at Cannes in September and hopefully a new 4K disc will come soon thereafter.
-
And then, hopefully they'll do the same for The Young Girls of Rochefort.
