Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland 126, and now it is time for you to post until the 126 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PANOPLY!
-
BK, congrats on the successful Kritzerland show! And great pictures, as always!
-
I love (and actually bought my own copy of) the book Snow White in New York (https://www.amazon.com/Snow-White-York-Fiona-French/dp/0192722107/)! I've always thought that it could make a really good musical. Too bad it didn't happen. I wish I could hear the songs that were performed. ::)
;)
-
Good morning, all!
-
Wow! A plethora of photos today, and it looks like so much fun was had by all. The only good thing about the pandemic was Kritzerland online.
-
Stella's nose is cold again, so I regard that as a good sign. Yesterday she had another bowel accident on the bathroom rug, so she's not healthy yet.
-
I slept quite poorly; I seem to be averaging one good night, one bad, one good, etc. The problems are the pains in my hip and knee joints, and I don't have any painkillers strong enough to kill the pain.
-
I will finish up this number for Joshie this morning, and I need to put the laundry together for Saturday.
-
I wish I could train Annabelle or Thatch to do this for me!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning.
-
DR elmore3003 - love that illustration so much!

~~~CONTINUED TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!
-
I’m still fighting to avoid coming down with what Vixdad had/has
-
Hope you are doing OK this morning, DR vixmom. NO MORE VEERING TOWARD SICKNESS!
-
Thanks for the photos last night, DR John G.
-
Good to hear of Kritzerland 126!
-
I’ve been using the zicam swabs, taking sambucol and the vitamin C. Drinking hot orange herb tea with lemon infused honey.
Then alka seltzer plus before any early bedtime,
-
Come for the satanic exorcism. Stay for the fried chicken.
-
I was in bed by 10 but woke at 12:47, 3:47, 5:27 to use the necessary
-
At 7:29 I woke again and just stayed up
-
Drinking my tea with honey now
-
Guess I’ll wordle and go to work
-
Wellness vibes to vixmom!
-
Pain-free vibes to Larry.
-
Really enjoyed the repor and photographic evidence from the Kritzerland show last night! Sounds like excellent news all round.
-
More smooth travel vibes to John G!
-
So glad the party singdaw went to last night was such fun!
-
.
-
Thanks for the photos last night, DR John G.
That was a most enjoyable group of photos!
-
If you use taffy, you can have a lucky penny with you all the time.
-
.
National Taffy Day sounds like great fun!
-
Why doesn't a lucky penny keep returning like a bad penny?
That's what I'd like to know.
-
DR Freddie flipped us to page two and didn't know it! :)
-
Page two is always something to celebrate.
-
Iris, if you're reading every day anyway, could you just pop in once in a while to let your pals at HHW know how you're doing. You can tell that we're concerned.
-
DR Freddie flipped us to page two and didn't know it! :)
Yes!
-
TOD:
I suppose I'd go back to hear Judy at Carnegie Hall.
-
TOD: Despite the bad reviews her show "Peg" got, I'd so like to have seen Peggy Lee's concert show on Broadway. Who could have guessed it would be close to the last time to see her perform live in New York?
-
Thursday morning greetings! I still have a sore throat and stuffy head.
-
Sounds like it was a wonderful Kritzerland show last night.
-
TOD, part II:
I'd also like to go back and see Little Edie Beale's cabaret act.
-
Thursday morning greetings! I still have a sore throat and stuffy head.
Feel better soon, Ginny!
-
Feel better soon, Ginny!
DITTO!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Boy, did I sleep in.
I woke at the ungodly hour of 4:30, used the necessary, and laid (lay?) awake for two hours! But I was determined to get back to sleep for a bit, and I did indeed, and I nearly made up those two hours.
The result, though, in a case like that, is the incredible dreams I have in that “extra” sleep, and this one was a doozy.
-
It was one of my (long story short) getting lost in a mall or other huge meandering space. This time it was both, and both elements were taken to an extreme. It even included a deja vu section, which always confounds me in a dream. But the “framing device” was somebody’s voice studio or apartment in which I seem to have been playing for auditions, and for some reason I stepped out for a minute and ended up in this sprawling place of…well, dreams.
-
But they say God is in the details for a reason, and if only I had the patience to describe everything and even sketch out how certain things and places appeared.
-
So, getting back to planet Earth, I will say that Kritzerland 126 sounds like one great show.
I, too, always think of the pandemic Kritzerland shows. Hell, throughout the lead-up to this one I kept thinking I should be highlighting the date on my calendar or something.
-
More STAY WELL vibes for vixmom! Fight, fight, fight!
-
More STAY WELL vibes for Stella, too!
-
DR John G., the "prizes" were awarded in categories like "The Golden Throat" award, and "Most Unexcused Absences." (The winner of the latter was not there to accept the award.)
-
Ditto!
-
More STAY WELL vibes for Stella, too!
Ditto to both!
-
I picked up yesterday's mail. The book has arrived! Thank you, BK and DR Jrand73!
-
And so to work!
Thanks, DRs Freddie and Singdaw.
-
So far, two hours of sleep, but I'm going back to bed shortly.
-
Thursday...at last...and so fast.
I cannot believe the weekend looms so closely.
-
I have read that the WB network has failed to renew it's number one show: "Walker", starring Jared Padalecki.
That is a financial decision rather than a smart one. "Walker" wanted more money to continue and the WB needs to keep a financially workable schedule. For what "Walker" costs, apparently, the WB can get a couple of new shows.
Always interesting when a network throws out the baby with the bath water.
At any rate, I have read a comment indicating that Padalecki might be worked into a role on "The Boys", Amazon's dystopian show about villainous superheroes. Jensen Ackles is in the cast, as well. So, too, is Jim Beaver. All three were on "Supernatural".
-
The sky just got ominously grey here in Manhattan!
-
TOD:
I don't know of any one specific concert I wish I had attended, but I do wish I would have had the chance to see Streisand, Midler, Simon and Garfunkel, and The Beatles live in a concert.
-
HA!
-
Wonderful write up and photos in the notes about KL 126!
Congrats to MR BK & Co.
-
I have read the first three chapters of THE book. I hope to read more this weekend.
-
Last night one man was missing for Scandal/Outrage so of course when we do the run thru tonight he will have NEVER done it....and he's not none too all the ball even when he's been rehearsed several times.
I guess I will walk through his part and have him record it on his telephone....and give him an Easy Sheet of the staging so he can review it over the LONG weekend.....AS IF.
-
Stay well vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
Getting home vibes for DR JOHNG who posted some great photos yesterday.
-
Healing vibes for DR GINNY.
-
So now I have to make a blocking sheet for you know who.....
:( Don't the people in the show want the show to come off well?
-
Congratulations on the successful show, BK!
-
TOD: I've been lucky enough to hear most of my favorites in concert, but I sure would like to have heard the Don Ellis orchestra, especially the version with a string quartet from the 1970s. I would take any of the dates they did for their live albums At Montreux or Tears of Joy.
-
DR John I enjoyed your photos last night.
-
I recall having fava beans, and the delicious fava bean falafels, but not dried fava beans in Greece.
-
Beets were on just about every menu in Ireland. They seem to be popular these days. They were usually part of the vegetarian options. If only I liked beets.
-
The number is finished. Stella and I are watching TV.
-
I’m still fighting to avoid coming down with what Vixdad had/has
I'm still fighting not to come down with Keith's cold.
-
I wish my doctor's appointment had been this morning, which I originally thought it was.
-
Stay well vibes DR Vixmom!
-
Iris, if you're reading every day anyway, could you just pop in once in a while to let your pals at HHW know how you're doing. You can tell that we're concerned.
Yes DR Iris, it would be very nice just to know how you are doing. Sending good vibes your way.
DR FREDDIE sometimes I wonder.....but his wife is the pianist, so there you are.....
-
I enjoy my Don Ellis records.
-
I kick myself for never seeing Blossom Dearie at the Algonquin when she was doing regular gigs there.
-
Wish I could’ve been at the Kritzerland show last night! Looked amazing and they can’t turn their noses up at that attendance!
-
I'm up, I'm up - slept a couple of hours, was up for a couple hours - I think maybe I got six hours total.
Yes, that is a very good thing. Keith tested this morning and said he doesn't have it.
And stay well vibes for DR JANE.
Thank you.
-
I enjoyed reading the notes and seeing the photos from last night.
Craig Brockman just sent me this article from Movie Web - twenty under appreciated film musicals. As I scrolled down the list, I wondered what ARE these movies and is there anything on this list pre-1990? And then guess what appeared as I kept scrolling - The First Nudie Musical. Followed by a favorite of mine, The Young Girls of Rochefort. Anyway, he wrote very nice things about our little motion picture. Take a gander. Just scroll until you find it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/tripideas/20-underrated-cult-musicals-that-deserve-your-attention/ar-BB1iXIFw?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=c8ff64a875314909ad895ee095554c83&ei=42&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR19CqKb4Vl_Zbi5twaIYq7SgI9PQLg6MBfaMmzE1Od0vmz3F_PeBdRpvRk_aem_AUJVePTtZeUj9ENhYOW2HouBtRsH1jAciCUG7-M_nqFbMPywbH5m0r6hnevMc7MOnpZ8GEN9SSddcEnI5yU_MbPZ
Maybe Nancy Ford and Gretchen Cryer would allow a production called "I'm Getting My Cats Together and Taking Them to the Bank" :)
-
;D
-
BK's book arrived in the Midwest. It looks really spiffy!
-
I listened to the German-language recording of Next to Normal today. In some ways, I think it surpasses the OBC.
-
Except that it's not sung in English, of course.
I asked them. Annabelle refuses to help since I did not get her the lead in the ballet.
I asked them. Annabelle refuses to help since I did not get her the lead in the ballet.
I heard gossip that in another casting matter, the casting director tried to explain to her that the project was "Cat Ballou" - not "Cat Ballet"
-
Had Pad Thai for food - very good and VERY filling.
-
Grocery shopping accomplished. It was a good time to go. Store was deserted.
-
Hoping not to have to go out at all during the long weekend.
-
On This Day in 1980, The Shining debuted on the big screen.
-
Good night, friends.
-
I’m home.
-
Exhausted but home.
-
I watered plants. Some had fried, others were in the middle, a few looked better without watering.
-
The flight from Athens was uneventful. I watched the film of the stage production of The Prince of Egypt. It needs work. There are a couple of good songs, but the show is both too long and underdeveloped.
-
Then I went into ABBA overload. Watched a 1-hour documentary about and with the band, then Muriel’s Wedding and Mamma Mia. I had forgotten just how good Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths were in Muriel’s Wedding. Had to believe that movie is 30 years old.
-
The flight to San Antonio was sheer torture. I was in the last row in the middle seat. The woman to my right would not move her srm from the arm test to allow me to watch a movie, not that I wanted to watch the movies they were showing.
-
The seat stuffing seems to have been MIA. And being the last row, I could not recline the seat.
-
I took two painkillers before takeoff and they actually helped.
-
It was in the 70s in Greece. It was 89 when I landed.
-
Page five???
-
What is THAT about?
-
No George?
-
What is THAT about?
-
No comprende.
-
Finished with my viewing and better write some damn notes and when I return from doing so there better be some damn posts.
-
I gotta tell you...
-
Say what?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Soitenly not here.
-
Burrito?
-
Chef Boyardee?
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
TOD:
I don't know of any one specific concert I wish I had attended, but I do wish I would have had the chance to see Streisand, Midler, Simon and Garfunkel, and The Beatles live in a concert.
The only one of these people that I've see live is Art Garfunkel. He came to the Washington Center and put on a great solo show. :)
-
Topic of the Day: I would've loved to have seen Bette Midler and Barry Manilow live in their Continental Baths performances, which amazingly was filmed and is actually on YouTube! Here's the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOrzpQeJyKI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOrzpQeJyKI)
And speaking of Greece, my friends Michael (the TAO president) and his wife Heather (she played Joyce in TAO's production of The Brain from Planet X) are in Greece right now, and Michael sent me this picture just a couple of hours ago:
-
Thursday morning greetings! I still have a sore throat and stuffy head.
Sorry, feel better.
Thanks, DR Jane. At least I don’t have Covid.
Very good news, Ginny!
-
Topic of the Day:
I have seen Patti LuPone, Bernadette Peters, and Mandy Patinkin (separately) live in concert, and Betty Buckley in Sunset Boulevard, as well as Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria, so those got covered. :)
-
I think I'd like to have seen some cabaret performers:
Billie Holiday
Eartha Kitt
Andrea Marcovicci
Amanda McBroom
Bobby Short
-
And ANY (or all ;) ) of the Kritzerland shows!
-
That's really cool, BK!
-
They also mention Cannibal! The Musical! Theater Artists Olympia did the stage version twice and I was in both productions. :)
-
Another movie that they mention is a science fiction movie called The American Astronaut, and the whole move is on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COxhvqWWxSU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COxhvqWWxSU)
It's at a very low resolution, though.
-
I just did a random search on the movie and saw that it was on YouTube, and then I clicked a random spot in the movie and saw that Tom Aldridge (the original Narrator in Into the Woods) is in it!
-
And I also have the original Korean cast recording (https://castalbums.org/recordings/-2011-Original-Korean-Cast/24751/). :)
I haven't listened to that in quite a while, so I don't remember how it compares.
I’m home.
Welcome home, John!
No George?
I don't know what you're talking about. ::)
:D
-
So, my sister is going to have a garage sale on Saturday.
-
I'm going to bring over some things...knick-knacks and some shirts that don't fit (but are in great condition).
-
My friend Shelly will also bring some stuff to sell, so hopefully we'll all make a little bit o' cash.
-
Tomorrow night will start the last weekend of TAO's The King in Yellow.
-
It turns out that this was our second biggest seller since moving into the space at the mall!
-
We have the kids show put on by Juice Box Theatre (one weekend a month) and then we're doing tick, tick... BOOM! at the end of June through the middle of July.
-
There won't be performances at all during the weekend of the Fourth of July, though...just WAY too much competition. ;)
-
PAGE SEVEN tick, tick... BOOM! DANCE!!
I once read in a book that I do not care for page seven.
Sorry for the lateness of the notes, but when you read them it will become clear.
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
-
I'm tired.
How can it be two o'clock already?
Guess I'll shower and hit the hay.
