Well, you've read the notes, the notes need a new iMac, and now it is time for you to post until the iMac cows come home.

Topic of the Day: I don't know which specific burger was the best that I've ever had, but the consistently best burgers that I get are from the local Red Wagon Burgers (https://www.redwagontumwater.com/). I haven't been there in a couple of weeks, but they really do have some of the best burgers in town. :)
-
That's very sad about Marvin Laird. I love the BK produced cast recording of Ruthless! The Musical!
-
TOD: best restaurant burger that I can recall was at the Painted Horse restaurant on Biscayne Blvd in Miami.
Best burgers at home have been the steak burgers from Omaha Steaks!

Such sad news. And ditto to loving the cast recording of Ruthless! The Musical!

That New Slice sammich looks delicious.
-
Good burgers,
Bad burgers,
I've had them all and, my dear,
I'm still here!
-
Good morning, all!
-
TOD: Despite everything I have ever read about them, I have never had an In and Out burger.
Of the burgers I have had, I have very much enjoyed Wendy's, the Burger King Whopper and the Mickey D's quarter-pounder.
I prefer them all without cheese, please.
My favorite way to have a burger is with grilled onions, mustard and thin slices of dill pickles. YUM!
I also like them all the way with lettuce, tomato and an onion slice.
-
:)
-
I like burgers with mayo spread thinly on both buns. Is that Texas-style?
-
~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!!
-
My dad was the grill master in my family. What he could do on a grill was incredible.
His steaks were sublime! And so were his burgers. They had the best flavor. And they were always the correct proportion of beef and properly shaped.
When I get hamburgers in non-burger joints, the patties are way too thick to properly enjoy the blend of the burger with the bun and add-ons. Just a huge chunk of grilled beef with a bit of mustard, some lettuce and tomato, a bit of which always hits the plate because the burger takes up too much room.
Blech!
It's Thursday. This week is flying by like a gazelle in hot pink culottes doing the Lambada - the Forbidden Dance.
-
This morning Amazon Fresh delivered my order by 6:30. The 6:00-8:00 time slot del;iveries in the past have usually arrived between 7:00 and 7:15, so I was happily surprised at its early arrival.
-
I am happy to repor that my week of medical appointments is complete!
My appointment yesterday was quick and easy, and I stopped at Sam's Club for a bit of shopping/re-stocking (of ice cream products, especially).
-
The Re-stocking of the Ice Cream Products is a very solemn and important task.
-
Best not neglected.
-
I think BK asked the other day about favorite flavors. As a kid I loved Baskin Robbins's pink bubblegum ice cream. I collected all the bubble gum bits and had them as a second snack when I was done with the ice cream. I am sure that now I would find it all too sickeningly sweet.
-
BK, I'm very happy your emails havbe turned up. My problem was the server. When my Mac man set up my first computer in 2001, he put my email server on Netscape. When Netscape went under, he told me how to move to SeaMonkey, which is now - according to Apple - unworthy of being used. So, on that last upgrade to Sequoia 15.1.1, SeaMonkley got bounced, and I could not get it to open.
Jason managed to get SeaMonkey back up and running, and I now have to open it through the Terminal and using two passwords, my email password and my computer password. I'm not sure Jason's instructions would have done you any good.
Mehitabel was played by Taylor Dayne. She's probably best known for "Tell It To my Heart"
Slept well. Had Conclave-induced dreams as I was listening to the audiobook before going to sleep.
Somehow, I have the feeling that John G and Jrand have done some pretty nifty dance moves to "Tell It To My Heart" at some points.
I woke up to two to three inches of wet snow. The roads are repor'ed to be fine, but my driveway always needs work. First time in a while. I think we were out there actually working only two or three times last season? I didn't do the cleanest job so I need to go out and check it later because it'll all freeze good and hard tonight.
I am REALLY delighted to hear, though, that BK is buying us all new iMacs!!!
The 24" is fine for me, and I'm not real choosey on color. A basic Apple silver would be fine, but I might as well ask if they by any chance have a nice blue?
When I had a Mac mini, I didn’t have to get a Mac monitor. So I got a nice cheap one. And, I don’t know if this is still true, but Mac minis, their whole thing was you used to be able to add memory cards to them, so I did that, and that was pretty easy.
Maybe it was a reference to "Granny Get Your Gun" - a movie which preceded "Annie Get Your Gun" by a few years.
Or maybe not.
I just went online at medicare.gov to review drug plans before the 12/7 deadline, and I'm horrified at what I'm seeing.
Horrified, not just at the drug costs at various pharmacies around town, but at the site itself. Every page talks about what my ESTIMATED drug costs will be in 2024. Yes, 2024. They also list pharmacies associated with supermarkets that CLOSED two months ago (the pharmacies might even have closed way earlier). And I don't think I've found a website yet where the location-and-distance finder technology has been anywhere near accurate.
ANYHOO...
To the extent that I can even understand any of it, it looks like I still won't make any change, but I do stand to save a few bucks by using the Costco pharmacy instead of the Walmart one I've been with, and it's much more convenient. I added it to my "list" of pharmacies on the website, and I guess I need to tell the doctors to send prescriptions there. Right? Who the hell knows? Guess I'll find out by doing it.
Maybe I didn't even post what "all of that work" was. Mostly shovel-plowing (I make a point of not doing much actual snow lifting)... all along the 500-foot driveway.
-
Okay, that was just a snow squall that only lasted for a couple of minutes. They always look like we're going to get a foot dumped on us, but they also blow away quickly and end up leaving nothing. There could be more of same through the afternoon, though.
Making those cookies was a nightmare and time consuming beyond belief.
-
But I did it in Mom’s memory.
I also listened to most of Conclave while working. I like the book, but I loved the movie. It actually improves on the original by condensing some overwritten passages and letting the images tell so much. Nothing is substantially different.
But I did it in Mom’s memory.
I think you did her proud. They look wonderful!
-
If my gums are swollen I floss very gently. I hope you can see the dentist to be sure everything is ok, or are much improved so you don't feel the need to see the dentist. Is the office opened on Friday?
-
Dentist is squeezing me in at 9:30 tomorrow morning. I believe what they do is pop it and let it drain. I've done the salt water thing already and will do it again later. But I can't do the show this weekend with it like it is.
The article says "Spokespersons for Stereophonic have not responded to a request for comment on this lawsuit. The Tony-winning play is scheduled to run on Broadway through January 12, 2025. "
I love a good old hamburger, grilled or griddled, smashed or steamed.
Ah, the page that shall not be named.
My favorite burger was the one my sister Annaliese and I discovered at the Columbia Steakhouse in Lexington, Kentucky. It was 1/2 pound of ground beef, perfectly seasoned and griddled to perfection. It came with steak fries. The plate was enough for dinner and was priced at a level college students could afford.
Texas is cattle country, so we love our burgers. Some of the local places have great burgers. I found a patty melt the other day that was excellent.
