Well, you've read the notes, the notes had tales as old as time, and now it is time for you to post until the tails as old as cows come home.

Good morning, all.
-
I had to get up at 5:30 in the a.m. to drop my car off at the car place and get a ride back home with Nathan.
So here I am.
-
BK is waiting a long time for his car. Hope they do NOT have to order parts from Europe.
For me, I just hope the needed repairs today don't break the bank. (A brake seems to have seized up, or done something that brakes do.)
-
BK is waiting a long time to be CROWNED, too.
My dentist has been making them same day for some years now, and they're wonderful. I'd imagine a traditionally made one might have a longer expected life span, but who knows. I've got two 3-D printed crowns and two 3-D printed caps in my mouth that are at least a decade old, plus the new crown from last month, and, knock wood, they're wonderful.

Good morning, all!

I slept rather well. Annabelle retreated to her aerie and her mountain chateau in the book cases, Stella slept at my feet, and Thatch slept next to me. Aome time after 2:00, Annabelle did her dive from the chateau onto me, which was an unpleasant surprise, as she ran for the litter box. When she returmned to bed, she curled up on her princess pillow. When the alarm rang, I decided to ignore it and sleep in, and Annabelle decided she wanted top sleep under the blankets, so wqe cuddled for maybe 45 minutes before I decided to get up.
-
I'm not sure what I'm doing after kitty cleanup and trip to the basement. I have several projects I need to get back to.
-
DR Jrand74, how are you feeling today?
-
DR Jrand74, yes, TCM was good last night. They Shoot Horses was coming on right when I needed it, and I was starting to fall asleep right at the end. I was awake for a few minutes of the next movie, but that one was a lost cause. It did exactly what it needed to do.
-
BK, I hope the dental pains have passed.
-
Maybe flowers will show up at DR Jrand74's door today.
-
I'd forgotten what that next movie was last night. It was Car Wash (1976) which I'd never seen. Well, I still have never seen it. I'll have to catch it another time.
When I first saw it listed, I conflated it with Used Cars (1980) which I like a lot.

There ain’t no shooting conflation here at HHW.

Thursday morning greetings! I slept in this morning, which is a good thing to d9 when the temperature is 18 and feels like 7 🥶

DR Rodzinski, thank you for last night’s birthday wish. As for your comment, all I can say is, “For now.” But it’s fun while it lasts!

I have a couple of CDs of Miss MacKenzie's singing and they are on high rotation around these parts.

How could I forget Time After Time!
I think I saw that movie five times....on the B I G screen.
It was a while ago, but I'd been doodling with a comedy about a character somewhat like me obsessed with going back in time to catch a character somewhat like you in a production of "Dial M for Murder" in the 1980s. It was turning out too much like "Somewhere in Time" and I'd thought if I made it a full-out parody, it might be OK to be like "Somewhere In Time." I'm trying to remember why I abandoned it.

What is great is that I really don't have any pressing engagements for the rest of the month.....so I am having some ME time.

Time travel is fiction anyway, so it could be a fictional version of your production of Dial M for Murder. :)

It was. You know, maybe they could do it with toasted hazelnuts. (Wink, wink.)

From John:
Has it become common to serve the man first. Three times tonight, I received my dish before the three women at the table. I didn’t say anything to the staff, but I did say it to my friends, who had noticed it too.
Not usually at a posh place, unless your food came out first.
Last night we did not eat at a posh place. The server, not the waitress, came out with the food, picked up one dish at a time and asked who it was for before serving it. Still, I think he managed to do the women first :)
-
LOL Jrand.

I have never worked as a server.

From DR Rodzinski:
Could be. Two-minute Mysteries were in print for a long time through Scholastic Book Services.
I bet then that they were purchased at the school book fairs. I loved working those.

Turns out today was to prep the bit of tooth that's getting the crown and to take an impression. That's all done now but I won't get the crown until 12/31 at noon.
Hope you’re not in pain and agony again at Midnight to welcome the new year.
I never have, or need, shots to numb my mouth for the final crown placements. It isn't a big deal.

My cataract surgery went very well, although it seemed different from the first one. I must have been a bit more "under" that first go-around.

It is currently a very chilly 50 degrees, but the day is very bright (!!) and sunny. Off in the distance (less than a quarter mile away, actually) someone is chain sawing a downed tree.
That particular pastime/function/necessity will be happening for quite some time to come as many of the Hurrican Helene casualties remain uprooted where they fell during that storm.

I was groggy, at least partially, the rest of the day.
My second one was a little different, too, in what I was “seeing” during the surgery. I didn’t get quite the interesting light & color show as I did in the first. I still remember it, and I wish I had the skill to create a video or something to show people - including my doctor who was interested in those perceptions of what was going on.

BK is waiting a long time to be CROWNED, too.
My dentist has been making them same day for some years now, and they're wonderful. I'd imagine a traditionally made one might have a longer expected life span, but who knows. Starting The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, which I have never seen before. But that Michael Powell documentary made me want to watch it.
It took me a couple of viewings to totally warm up to that one, but warm up to it I did. I had never seen it till about ten years ago when one of the really good projectionists who posts on Home Theater Forum ran a pristine 35mm print in a lovely old theeder. That was a great introduction to it, but I watched the Blu-ray at home a couple of times shortly thereafter to thoroughly digest it. It's time to do it again because even now, a couple of moments shown in the documentary didn't look familiar enough to me!

Good afternoon.
-
My church did a gift thing for a foster child. I chose a teen boy, because I was afraid a teen wouldn't be chosen.
-
Teen gifts are expensive.
-
We were given a price suggestion of $30.
-
My daughter chose a 3-year-old girl. Little kids are fun to shop for. They will be happy with anything.
-
The only item close to $30 on the teen's list were Nike socks, at $26 per package.
-
I also bought a gift of baking equipment for my next-door neighbors. As much as I enjoy baking with the children, it's more important that they bake with their mother and aunt.
-
and features lusting mutants......
Was this the Regent East Bar on East 58th Street back in the 1980s?
-
The only item close to $30 on the teen's list were Nike socks, at $26 per package.
I hope $26 was for more than one pair of socks!
-
Six pair, I think.
-
A pretty awful Christmas gift, I think.
-
I got three of the seven suggested items. All pretty utilitarian. But I suppose that's teen boys.
-
Our local theater is going to do Seussical in January. I have a pair of tickets in my season ticket package.
-
I bought the Horton books that the story is based on, and tucked in a note for Grandson saying that Aunt Sassy will take him to see it.

I saw it when it toured a number of years ago. I think he'll enjoy it. He's 6.

Just puttering about the house.

That may be a good idea that Jane has - if they tell me parts are coming from overseas, then maybe I'll go get the car and use it until they come in. Although, I don't really use it all that much.

-
Really funny.
-
I'll try to find something to watch in a few minutes.

Tuna sandwiches were really good.

Is "People are funny" a euphemism for "People are awful" :)

-
I think it can be done.
-
We are, after all, the little engine that could. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
-
Very appreciative of the Thrill Ride inclusions. Such a fun book to write.
-
I LOVE and am obsessed with the idea of time travel, which is why I enjoyed that movie last night so much.
-
What's really funny about that movie is that everyone says the issue that causes the time warp was because he sustained an injury. What know one, not one single critic or person noticed is that it's the guy he never captured twenty years ago, who inflicts the injury - you have to be paying attention to why the cop stops (to see why there's a vehicle on the bridge, not moving, with no one in the driver's seat. It doesn't pay off until the end of the film so I guess no one remembers - I did.
-
I just stopped in to see what condition my condition was in.

Name the song and which group sang it and who from the group went on to become a major star.
I had no idea without googling.

I think many cheeses are low carb.

Everyone has left the damn room.

I also bought a gift of baking equipment for my next-door neighbors. As much as I enjoy baking with the children, it's more important that they bake with their mother and aunt.
That is very thoughtful of you.
-
My daughter chose a 3-year-old girl. Little kids are fun to shop for. They will be happy with anything.
LOL.
-
I got three of the seven suggested items. All pretty utilitarian. But I suppose that's teen boys.
Was anything fun requested? Teen boys do like clothes, but socks must mean he really needs them.
-
I bought the Horton books that the story is based on, and tucked in a note for Grandson saying that Aunt Sassy will take him to see it.
You are very clever :)
-
People are funny and I'll just leave it at that.
Is "People are funny" a euphemism for "People are awful" :)
I waited to see if someone asked the question-lol
-
I may try to find a chiropractor, since it's covered by insurance. I need some adjustments.
Is there anyone walking distance from you?

Does peanut butter have a lot of carbs? And what DOESN'T have a lot of damn carbs?
Eating peanuts is better than eating peanut butter unless you buy it without sugar.

The First Edition featuring Kenny Rogers
-
Not to be confused with New Edition featuring Bobby Brown
-
Let’s flip this!

Hello 8!
-
Does peanut butter have a lot of carbs? And what DOESN'T have a lot of damn carbs?
Meat and cheese.
-
Does peanut butter have a lot of carbs? And what DOESN'T have a lot of damn carbs?
I think many cheeses are low carb.
What Fred said. :)

I (usually) only get Adam's All-Natural with just peanuts and salt. I like theirs better than any other "natural" peanut butter.

Hello, Rodzinski.
-
Starting The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, which I have never seen before.
What an emotional wow that movie was. Just about perfect. I can't watch it again so soon, but I want to watch the commentary with Michael Powell and Martin Scorsese.
-
Hey, G! And John G!
-
And 3 guests!
-
Hi, Rodz!
-
Hi, George!
-
At the end of his introduction to Blimp, Scorsese tells the story that before filming Powell was told by the government not to make it and if he did, he would never be knighted. He made the film. He never was knighted.

Do you need to stir it?

I just watched the trailer on IMDB. Is this a comedy?
-
DR singdaw, did you watch Eloise at Christmastime?
I did! It was fun. Thanks for the prod.

At times, but not always

Made some chicken noodle soup
-
:)
-
:)
You use a smiley face for that? That's nothing to smile about.
-
So, eating nothing but meat and cheese is somehow supposed to be HEALTHY and good for you???
-
Really?
-
I understand that's the Keto way, but every time I've done Keto I feel LOUSY.
-
Hi, George!
Hi, John!

Yes, and I don't mind that.
-
Just got a streaming screener code so I think that will be my viewing for this evening.
-

That's the keto concept. If you stop eating carbs, your body will start using your body's fat as fuel instead.

Which movie?

You are not supposed to eat nothing but meat and cheese. Blueberries are a good fruit to eat, and of course you need veggies.
-
I understand that's the Keto way, but every time I've done Keto I feel LOUSY.
IMHO it is not a good diet.

PAGE NINE DANCE!! :D
-
NINE!

I was looking for nine cats. Images that said nine had mostly eight or ten but not nine ;D
-
I want nine cats for reals.
-
Well. Maybe not nine. But two or three would be delightful.
-
I finally persuaded my boss to get an electric heated cat bed, and it has been VERY popular with her two.
-
Has anyone seen the animated film Flow? I've heard good things about it.
-
It's mostly non-narrated and about animals, I think.
-
Has anyone seen the animated film Flow? I've heard good things about it.
I want to.
-

As long as they are bonded and don't fight ;D
-

Sweet.
-
'night
-
Good night, Jane
-
DeVito on a burrito.
-
Glad your second surgery went well, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
It's really been a medical month for you, hasn't it?
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Good night, Singdaw.
-
Watching the original film Holiday Inn. Fred Astaire is truly excellent in this.
-
“For the love of mud.”
Now that’s dialogue.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished streaming the screener - The Substance. I'll have a few things to say about it in the notes. I will say that I'd be surprised if Demi Moore doesn't get an Oscar nomination for it - that is, if they can get anyone to actually watch it.
-
Just think David Cronenberg's The Fly times 10,000 and you'll have an idea what you're in for for all of its two hours and twenty minutes.
-
Hey, we're on page nine.
-
Nothing wrong with THAT.
-
Nothing at all.
-
What I really like about page nine is its ability to know when it's time is up.
-
Because it realizes page ten is waiting in the wings.
-
See?
-
Enter page ten.
-
And - completely out of the blue - ALLERGY ATTACK.
-
Not very sporting.
-
NINE!

Cute Cats, Keith's wife! (I wanted three "k" sounds ;) )!
-
I want nine cats for reals.
My niece really has six cats and nine chickens! And ne'er the twain shall meet. ::)
-
;D
-
Has anyone seen the animated film Flow? I've heard good things about it.
Not I. I don't think I've even heard of it. :-\
-
DeVito on a burrito.

Interesting.
-
Perhaps I'll write some notes.
-
Why shouldn't I?
-
It must be done.
-
Or chaos will ensue.
-
And we cannot have ensuing chaos.
-
And why would en be suing chaos anyway?
-
Fly X 10,000? Unfathomable!
-
Better diet is cut out all sweets and sweet drinks. Minimize bread. Don’t eat after 7pm.
-
I’ve dropped 15 in the last couple months.
-
I must lose weight is the bottom line.
-
After tomorrow, no more sweets. But I can't cut out pasta until after the Do. Bread isn't really a problem.
-
Now I want some bread.
-
But I shan't have any.
-
Tomorrow will be Wacky Noodles or something like that.
-
Then for the weekend I'll have the Amazon Fresh stuff - salads, no bread, no sweets, fruit, veggies.
-
Some of their prices are amazingly cheap. They had the thirty-dollars 50 tablet size for nine bucks. I got two for that incredible price.
-
Waiting for the Claritin-D to kick in.
-
Might start a movie after posting notes.
-
Listening to a marvelous Japanese symphonic composer.
-
I do feel that page eleven is waiting patiently in the wings.
-
See?
-
Enter page eleven.
-
Isn't that a kick in the pants.
-
I've been filling out forms for my appointment tomorrow. ::)
-
Too many damn forms
Filling out and hoping it's all correct
How many damn forms
Are there still to go??
-
;D
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
