Well, you've read the notes, the notes were staged, and now it is time for you to post until the staged cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ECSTATIC!

Great news on the staging, BK. It's also fun for the performers when things go that smoothly!
-
Terrific DRAT! THE CAT! rehearsal report from BK in the notes!
-
George, it's great to hear that your Mom was able to come home sooner than expected, and sending more vibes for a quick recovery!
-
That Jerusalema dance (from last night's posts) looks like great fun!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Really enjoyed the Jerusalema video.
-
I think it would be fun to try with a group.
-
What a day you had, DR George. Thrilled that your mom is home and recuperating. I'll bet Henry is glad, too.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, I'm happy that your mother is home and that friends and family are looking out for her.
-
Good morning.
-
DR Jeanne, I too am completely frazzled over the havoc and malaise the Fat Orange Felon and his crooked cronies are creating. My first suspicion was that FOF, E. Musk and his young accomplices were going to empty the treasury and send the money to offshore accounts, that I would lose my Social Security and Medicare, and the IRS would be in such a mess that it would be years before the 2024 returns could bve deciphered. As I've mentioned before, I feel much like a German citizen stuck there in the 1930s, too poor to relocate, and hating everything that was happening.
-
On the positive side, I still believe Trump's days are numbered. I hope I'm alive to see his utter destruction.
-
We had snow. I awoke around 5:00 this morning to the sounds of snow shovels scraping the sidewalks. The wondewrful thing about snopw in Manhattan is how quiet it makes the city.
-
Good morning.
Good morning, DR Laura!
-
Today, I hope to finish all my tax tallies. Tomorrow I need to scan everything. As soon as the NY Public Library 1099 - hopefully tomorrow - shows up, I can send everything to my new accountant.
-
BK, when are you going to announce the cast and let us see who they are?
-
The NY Times has Crème Brûlée Pie.
-
No blowtorch required.
-
Last night I decided life was too short and I stopped reading the second book in the "Mysteries of Max [the Cat]" when its too-high level of cute and coy, combined with lousy mysteries and poor solutions finally pissed me off. I cannot believe author "Nic Saint" - I don't believe he's a real person - wrote some 60+ books in this series unless he's stealing the plots from the overly cute and coy "Murder She Wrote," a series I loathed, much as I love Angela Lansbury. 1.5 Mysteries of Max - although I loved Max and his friend Dooley - is more than enough.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Lousy night of sleep. And I think I was outdoors too much yesterday. All the pollen is making my body ache.
-
Glad that the mother of DR GEORGE is home!
-
Yes....thanks to DR JOHN G for mentioned the Jerusalema and to DR RODZINSKI for posting the video link.
-
And good news from DR RODZINSKI about the turntable!
-
I loved reading MR BK's notes about the rehearsal.
These are my favorite parts of doing a musical....seeing a musical number come together and just WORK.
-
Page Two.
We are at 29 degrees headed for 35.
-
Luka Garza did indeed play about 7 minutes in the first quarter and didn't do very well.
He then played another 7 minutes in the third quarter and then was placed safely back on the bench.
-
Great news about George’s mom. Continued vibes.
-
I agree with DR ELMORE's comments on DR JEANNE's question from yesterday.
-
Cold front has moved in. High of only 70 degrees today.
-
Good morning, all.

Nothing like the safety of the bench.

We got over four inches of snow and there’s sleet and rain on top or maybe mixed in. I’m waiting to see if we can determine that it’s totally done, then a hellish cleanup will commence.
-
My deepest sympathies, ChasSmith.
-
I somehow missed the video of Jerusalema that DR Rodzinski posted last night. Yes, it is that fun. I didn’t dance it while holding a plate of food. Oh, the possibilities!
-
I want crème brûlée pie.
-
DR Rodzinski, that’s great to hear, about your fixing up the turntable. You have probably told us already and I apologize for not recalling, but what kind is it? I have two, and I’m embarrassed to say they both need work.

It is a Technics sl-1600 from the 1970s. Refurbished at some point. I bought it in Delaware.
-
And if not a plate, then how about a margarita?
-
Or a longneck?
-
A sparrow is starting to build a nest in the wreath on my front door. I can see him through the peephole studiously flying back and forth with twigs.

Thank you. I don't know the different models but I often wished I'd gotten a Technics back when it was possible to do so at a good price. They're so highly thought of.
My two are the AR ES-1 from the mid-1980s which I bought new in 1990, and a Dual 1019 from the 1960s that I found in beautiful condition at a community thrift shop. I have an updated, improved motor to install on the AR, I just need to plan a day to install it. The Dual worked well for a while but it needs the whole megillah in refurbishment by a pro. It's in gorgeous cosmetic condition and still works well enough that I know it'll repair beautifully.

George, it's great to hear that your Mom was able to come home sooner than expected, and sending more vibes for a quick recovery!
Thanks, Freddie!

I am done with my part of the SN*W cleanup. It was slow going, but this 4-to-5 incher was oddly a little easier to handle than the 2-inch mess we had the other day. I didn't detect much icy component at all while using the snowblower this time. We do have a couple of bad icy patches on the driveway that we'll be treating later. That and a few other things are Nathan's department. I am done. D-U-N. Done.
-

Thanks, Singdaw! Henry is on her bed with her right now. :)

Here in Lacey (at my mom's house), it's raining slush. Not really rain or snow, but a combo platter.

Nathan doesn't have a musical bone in his body but he loves musicals, and theeder in general. His all time favorite is Sunday in the Park With George and his birthday is coming up, so Kristi and I are surprising him with a local college production of it. This is the place (Western CT State University) that wowed Andy Hammerstein and Ted Chapin with Allegro, and I loved their Marat/Sade almost as much. We'll be there when they're having a talkback, no idea who's participating, but I look forward to that.
-
I am laundering my outdoor work clothes so they'll be ready for the next disaster, and I must shower and change. I plan on the rest of the day being ME ME ME. Hey, isn't there a basketball game or something on later?

What a nice present.

I must do tallies for my 2024 utilities and Spectrum, and I will have finished my 2024 taxes. Now I need that NYPL 1099, dammit!

The youth group at church had a Super Bowl Sunday fundraiser today that included a pulled pork sandwich, chips, soda and cookies. I'm enjoying the sandwich now.

While I worked I listened to the 1979 broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. It really is Project 2025, and when Jimmy Mahoney is sentenced to death for being unable to pay for a bottle of whiskey, I thought, OMG Donald Trump is Widow Begbick!

I emailed them, asking for a PDF.
-
I posted yesterday how those four 1960 horror movies all had nice memories attached.
What I also meant to post, and now shall, was what DR Elmore has reminded us of regarding his participation at the library for the ballet last year. My God, that was a great day, the ballet and the event and all company included. We need more of those.

From DR Jeanne,
Jane, BBL means Be Back Later. As in now.
That good, cuz when I googled BBL, "Brazilian butt lift" is all I saw.
:))

I think that's a possible dance move for a musical version of the movie "My Old Ass."

DR George it is wonderful how well your mother is doing, and that she is sensible about what she can or cannot do. It is also great that you have a team of people to stay with her.

I'm up, I'm up - over ten hours of good sleep. I believe I'm all caught up.

Now I must be on my way to the mail place, the ATM, and then perhaps Gelson's for food.

Well, I fed the cats and myself. Aropund 1:30 I started feeling peculiar, but I went ahead and prepared our dinners. I fed the cats, sat down to eat, and all hell broke loose. I had to make a walk as fast as I could - which is really slow - to the bathroom and didn't make it in time. I just finished cleaning up the kitchen and bathroom floors and myself. Some days life sucks, really sucks.
-
Four!
-
Hugs and vibes, Elmore.
-
On the positive side, my taxes are finished, and now I wait for that 1099.

Saw a hawk in the neighborhood today. Glad J.B. didn’t.

That sounds like a fun birthday surprise DR CHAS SMITH.

Saw a hawk in the neighborhood today. Glad J.B. didn’t.
Glad it wasn't the other way around.

I have an Audio-Technica ATPL50 and Ion Pro USB turntable.....I got that new in an unopened box at Goodwill and it was the color price tag that was half price off that day...and I got a senior discount so it cost me all of $7.
-
Wow, what a great buy.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Hi Dr Jeanne.
-
Good news about George’s mother! I’m impressed with the tag team taking care of her, too.
Continued recover vibes to her.
-
Hi, Jane.
Did you ever try Natural Ophthalmics Women’s Tear Stimulation pellets? I don’t use it much, but it always helps when I do. It’s not instant relief like eye drops — you need to give it a day or two to start working. But it does work. You might want to take it once a week for a while, supplemented by eye drops. It may be hard to find, though.
-
I think Jrand and George vie for the title of Bargain Queen, Jrand at Goodwill and George at Fred Meyer.
-
On the positive side, I still believe Trump's days are numbered. I hope I'm alive to see his utter destruction.
The thought that keeps coming to be is that FOF isn’t just a disrupter, he’s a smearer. He loves to smear and humiliate. That kind of behavior instills hatred and resentment. And now these executive actions have something to enrage everyone, even some of his MAGA base. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if one of them turned on him. In fact, I’d be surprised if there aren’t more attempts.
-
I don’t expect Musk to last. People don’t like him. He wasn’t even elected!
-
On that note, good Sunday vibes to all.
And a good week ahead, no matter how you spend it.
-
TTFN.

And thanks (again), Jane and Jeanne for the vibes and good wished for my mom from yesterday!

Went to mail place, went to ATM, went to Gelson's.
-
Came home and had Gelson's cheese enchiladas and got lox and bagels for tomorrow and a small Caesar for tonight.

This is riveting content.

Proofing away. Found one thing so far.

Other than the spacing stuff and front matter stuff I'd already found.

Andy Weir fans, did you read Artemis, and if so did you like it?

Back from an exhausting dance class.

Back to Coup de Chance. It started out Woody Allen was channeling Eric Rohmer. Now it’s gotten darker.

Back from an exhausting dance class.
Are you feeling Ok, John?
-
Good evening.
-
Elmore, I hope you are feeling better by now.
-
I provided the refreshments for today's preservice coffee hour. I have no idea how long this is going to go on. It's a lot of work, even for a small congregation.
-
My group I hosted on Tuesday had a very low turnout, so we put the leftovers in the freezer. I pulled those out this morning, plus made a couple other things.
-
I'm so glad the price of eggs has come down. Baking is expensive.

Do we have a sarcasm emoji?

I am boycotting the Super Bowl today.
-
Well............................
-
It's more that I couldn't care less.
-
Also, I have no television.
-
But we did get a video call tonight from Grandson. It seems they made a visit to the library, and he checked out a joke book. He read us some of his favorite jokes.
-
Oh, how we laughed.

Why did the elephant leave the circus?

-
DR LAURA that's pretty funny.
-
I am watching WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION on TCM
-
Coup de Chance is my favorite Woody Allen in more than 20 years. It wasn't great, but it was enjoyable.
-
DR JEANNE I hope the competition doesn't include a swimsuit section.
-
The score actually included an instrumental version of a song from Here's Love, the mother-daughter number Arm in Arm.

I, too, am watching that on TCM. It’s looking great, and it’s been several years since I’ve seen it. But I doubt I’ll be awake for long.
-
I'm now ignoring BK's advice and watching Saturday Night. It's possibly worse than he said. It's smug and insufferable. I like the guy playing Garrett Morris.

It probably needs a new idler wheel, and the thing they call a steuerpimple that may or may not be unique to Duals. And probably some grease cleanup and replacement. I might find these are not impossible for me to do, but I wouldn’t try it if not assured of that. They’re a bit complicated to work on.

John Batiste is really good as Billy Preston.
