Well, you've read the notes, the notes had light, and now it is time for you to post until the light cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PINNACLE!
-
BK, congrats on finally having your lighting designer last night, as well as the assistant!

BK, congrats on finally having your lighting designer last night, as well as the assistant!
Yes, most excellent lighting designer news!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather poorly last night. Actually, I slept very poorly last night. Part of it was anxiety over concerns that I would be routed from bed to be sick in the bathroom and the rest was a series of anxiety attacks from my belief that I would learn when I turned on the TV this morning that Musk and Trump had eviscerated Social Security. It's bad enough that they've screwed up the IRS and I have no idea when my (much) needed refund will show up, but with no work, I am very dependent on my Social Security. I've paid into it for over 60 years, and no matter what an ignorant, entitled ass like Musk says, it's no entitlement.
-
The news about the Dept. of Education was depressing, but reading comments on the measles from a complete fool like RFK, Jr. makes me feel that Trump's hiring a complete idiot to run HHS is grounds alone for iompeaching the fat orange bastard.
-
Maybe my constant bouts of nausea are no more than outward signs of my fears and disgust with the current administration? I won't rest easy until I read a Trump obituary or that a plague from God has destroyed 75% of the GOP in Congress.
-
My only bit of good news is that Modern Cat magazinbe wants to do something with Annabelle & Thatch, either a feature or a review.
-
DR Iris, I'm sorry your news was so wretched. Couldn't the medical staff do something about the rash so you could continue with the treatments? Otherwise, what are your options? I'm hoping the situation is still capable of a happy resolution.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Up early this morning, but I’d been awake for a while so might as well.
-
Huge vibes for DR DR Iris.
-
At the start of the title song last night, we stopped, because…
No Dolly.
She’d fainted.
-
Ultimately, she’s all right - or so we were told - but she’ll have to watch her food intake or the tightness of the corset or whatever else was involved.
Preview audience tonight.

~~~ULTRA-STRENGTH VIBES OF COMFORT, HEALING, AND FORTITUDE~~~ for our very own dear DR DR IRIS!!!!!
My only bit of good news is that Modern Cat magazinbe wants to do something with Annabelle & Thatch, either a feature or a review.
That's wonderful, Larry! Hoping it's a sign of good things to come.
-
More mega-vibes for DR Iris.
While all of that fun was going on, I got asked to step in and play the synth book for an Into the Woods next week down near Yonkers. I hear there’s a popular hay and feed store down that way.
I’ll have to see today if that’s possible to fit in. If it is, it’ll be a record setter for the month of March. Four shows in four weeks. Would I survive it?
DR CHAS SMITH your hands precede you in the theeder community.
-
MR BK I think every show has a rehearsal like that.
I would chalk it up to DST.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY.
What was your favorite television game show when you were growing up?
-
It is 44 degrees here headed for 74 degrees.
-
WORDLE in six! That was close.
-
I went to the getting places and things got got.
On the way there - a deer ran across the road in front of me. I didn't even have time to hit the brakes.....I took my foot off the accelerator and another one followed the first one across.
Scary. I guess they aren't used to the different traffic because of EDST.
Yikes! Hope you're OK, Jrand.
-
DR FREDDIE a second or so earlier and it would not have had a happy ending. Thanks.
-
DR ELMORE I am so sorry to hear about your health woes.
I feel the same tension and fear and uncertainty everyday. Without my SS, I would be lost....everything would be gone.
I might be able to last a couple of years, but nothing beyond that.
And it's all because of one stupid person who gave the idiots of this country permission to be the jerks they always were.
I am hoping our country lasts to celebrate its 250 anniversary, but I have my doubts today.
The people who are supposed to help us and have sworn to do so - have another agenda.
What happens to them when they get to D.C. - it's like a fever.
-
But enough of that already.
-
I hope we get a more detailed theeder report from DR VIXMOM.
-
DR CHAS SMITH your hands precede you in the theeder community.
Speaking of those things, I'm down to only one finger whose damage continues to return. What it really needs is a few days off.
The white glove system is great, though. I just need it on one hand, so at night I look like the Phantom or something.
-
As a card carrying resident of Deer Central, I know what DR Jrand74 has experienced all too well.
-
MR BK I think every show has a rehearsal like that.
I would chalk it up to DST.
I was thinking that, too, and those times are absolutely horrible.
My most recent one was back in November with the "Wonderettes", on one shitty rehearsal night when the director and producer I hated everything and were ready to be put to sleep for the next two months. And then, somehow, the next night ... without anyone saying anything, we suddenly knew for the first time in the whole period that we had a show. Just like that. Night and day.
-
I'm eating an everything bagel with an olive-pimiento spread of my own making. The spread will be MUCH better by tomorrow when the flavors have combined, but it's still delicious. It was a spur of the moment decision, and I'm glad I took the trouble to make it.
-
Hand vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
I think this dance could be interpolated into the Harmonia Gardens sequence.
Had to arise early this morning to interview a guy in the Netherlands who recycles artificial body parts.
-
File that under “sentences I never imagined I’d be typing.”
-
But implant recycling is a bigger business than one might expect.
-
I hope for Iris the docs can adjust the radiation dosage or something that helps.
Wordle: 4/6
-
Thanks for the Wordle congrats yesterday, DRs Jane and George!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
Jrand - as a very young tyke I liked almost all of them - I do remember liking Treasure Hunt with Jan Murray very much - I'm sure that seeing it today would be insufferable. Anything with Bill Cullen.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Apparently they were all revised in the 1950s to make certain things less offensive or dated.
I'm guessing the ones I read were revised but they might not have been. I don't recall anything seeming wrong, but then I was young.
-
From DR Vixmom:
Juinors is an iconic cheescake bakery/ diner, the first was in Brooklyn and there's one on 45th
Thanks. It sounds good.
-
I would definately not like a loaded potato pankcake.
-
From DR Iris:
I was complaining about a painful rash for a week, and the doctors did not take me seriously until it spread everywhere, out of control.
I had to cancel the rest of my radiation appointments, and am suffering greatly.
This is horrific and I am shocked they didn't take the rash seriously before it spread everywhere. They should have known better >:(
Vibes you didn't need those radiation treatments you will miss.
-
Bruce I'm glad you are pleased with the new actress.
I'm glad you are improving. Vibes that last finger heals quickly.
Just back from possibly the last visit with one of my dance instructors. He has been sleeping a lot lately. Today he hasn't even awakened. But he's apparently in no pain, which is a blessing
I am so sorry, DR John G. Saying goodbye is the worst part of living.
-
I just finished watching the final hour of Wicked. I want to make time in the next couple of days to watch the entire movie in one sitting. I really loved the scattered references to the 1939 film and the increased references to fascism in the novel. I found much of it very moving. By the end of the movie, I decided I liked Ariana Grande more thjan I thought I did, but I loved Cynthia Erivo's performance. She's so much prettier with that stupid ring out of her nose.
I was really impressed by Paul Tazewell's costumes, which seemed a mix of Victorian/Edwardian (time of the novel's publication in 1900) and contemporary while seeming other-worldly as well as real clothing the citizens of Oz would wear.
-
Thanks DR JANE - me, too. It would have been a completely different day.
We have had closer calls than that and no how scary it is. Fortunately we have never hit a deer. Once though a deer jumped over the hood of my car as I was driving ;D
-
DR John, sending hugs. No pain is a big blessing.
-
I'm sorry, John. I hope if it's time, it will be peaceful.
Vibes for DR JOHN G & his friend.
-
There are a couple of nice tables and a bookcase on the curb across the street. But I have no room for any of them....too bad.
I am guessing that they will be gone by this time tomorrow.
It’s up for the PEN/Faulkner, I think.
Thanks for your Wicked thoughts, DR elmore3003.
Edmond Dantes has just escaped from prison. The score for a swashbuckler should be exciting. This one is ho-hum so far. Too much synth, not enough of that Korngold epic sound.
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I wrote them to the music of Bartok - The Miraculous Mandarin suite, brilliantly conducted by Ormandy with the Philadelphians never sounding better.
-
It's amazing how much Bartok influenced composers like Jerry Goldsmith.
