Well, you've read the notes, the notes added something to nothing and got something, and now it is time for you to post until the nothing from something cows come home.

Good morning, all!
-
I had a pretty good day yesterday. The heaviest part of the day was the laundry, and that went very smoothly. The one thing I did not accomplish, and I will do it today, was vacuuming the apartment. I slept well last nightwas a bonus.
-
Annabelle and Thatch have taken over my new cart. I find trhem sleeping on different tiers, as though the cart were a pullman car on a train, and lately while they are doing this, they sing "Shuffle off to Buffalo."
-
The worst part is trying to evict Annabelle so I can use the cart for its intended purpose: to cart my things - and theirs - to and from the bathroom and kitchen. She's a very entitled young lady.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Oh My Lanta!
-
I have no plans today beyond the vacuuming. I'm nearing the end of my current Cat in the Stacks mystery, Arsenic and Old Books, which is the best so far in the series, and I have no idea who the murderer could be.
-
I dreamed I had woken up before I actually woke up. It was weird.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Weird dreams about staging a community reading of selections from Thomas Hardy’s Return of the Native, a book I loathed in high school and still don’t care for.
-
That was such an enjoyable discussion of various and sundried pizzas (and pizza places) in last night's posts!
-
Sundried pizza is the best pizza.

Are they making those arrangements yet for you to get some home help? Some of this sounds like something home help could be doing for you to take some of the physical strain off you, doesn't it?

Wishing for a series adaptation of your book, so that we can see this!

I dreamed I had woken up before I actually woke up. It was weird.
I'm typically awake in my dreams, so I guess I dreamed something similar.
-
Sundried pizza is the best pizza.

I dreamed I was watching the views of a video and keeping close watch waiting for the views to get to 1,000.
Oh wait, that's the plot HOW NOW DOW JONES, only there it's everyone waiting for the Dow index getting to 1,000.

Good morning, all.

Sunday. And holy damn moly, I don't have to go anywhere or play anything today. Or tomorrow. What am I to do with this FREEDOM?
-
Philadelphia Freedom is the best kind of freedom.

Sunday. And holy damn moly, I don't have to go anywhere or play anything today. Or tomorrow. What am I to do with this FREEDOM?
I hear freedom is a notion sweeping the nation.
-
Well, it was when they wrote SHENANDOAH in the 1970s.
-
Philadelphia Freedom is the best kind of freedom.
They make great cream cheese, too.
-
So I hear.
-
FREEDOM AND CREAM CHEESE - the title of a possible book about Philadelphia.
-
Speaking of which, I have discovered a nearby New York location for Jersey Mike's and their Philly Cheese Steak. Not cheap, but quite good.

CNN reminds us that it's the unofficial Star Wars Day -
as in May the Fourth be with you.
-
I like that the new version of CNN has added quite a bit of humor and lightness to its programming. What I like less is how much time they seem to feel obligated to give to conservative views, but with MSNBC feeling in flux, CNN probably "knows" what they need to survive as a news network in this era.

Sundried pizza is the best pizza.
Especially with sundried tomatoes.
-
I'm tuckered out. I've finished kitty cleanup, cleaned the bathroom, and vacuumed. I need to make the bed so I can lie in it.
-
Ann stopped by. She brought me a half dozen apple cider donuts from the farmer's market.
-
Sunday.
I like Papa John's pizza.
But it is not on my menu now. Still trying to keep the weight down.
-
I have to get ready and travel to a meeting of the bored today.
I shall start the book when I return.

I've been listening to two of my favorite British musicals, Lock Up Your Daughters, based on Henry Fielding's 18th century comedy Rape Upon Rape, which I think BK should direct for the Guild, and Virtue in Danger, based on Vanbrugh's Restoration comedy The Relapse.

Does every dog really have its day? And if so, which day is it?

Wordle: 4/6
-
Thus far today, I've gotten some stuff organized and put away and got some new music to work on more or less organized (some people still owe me some). Then I fell into a rabbit hole downloading some scores from IMSLP. I'd never used that site much, and shame on my sorry ASS because that's going to change. It's incredible what can be found there.
One thing I wanted that isn't yet in public domain is Poulenc's Le Bal Masque, preferably the full score, but a piano solo version would do.
Another is Gershwin's own Porgy and Bess Suite ("Catfish Row") -- not to be confused with Robert Russell Bennett's "Symphonic Picture" or any other arrangement. This one strongly features some of the purely orchestral music from the opera such as the fight fugue, hurricane music, and an abbreviated version of the opening piano solo.

From DR Rodzinski:
In Canada, did I mention this? There’s a chain called Boston Pizza. Now whoever associates Boston and pizza in the states? Nobody. Yet Boston Pizza is rather good. Generous, anyways.
:))
-
DR Chas, growing up the only really good pizza, IMHO, was LaBarbera's.
-
In the 70's we enjoyed Numero Uno's which was our first deep dish pizza.
-
DR Chas, growing up the only really good pizza, IMHO, was LaBarbera's.
I recognize the name, but where was it?
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
ChasSmith, don't forget to watch the Frenzy comparison. Also, LaBarbera's was at 11813 Wilshire Blvd near Barrington.
-
Nick Redman's first wife worked at a good pizza place called Da Vita's right down from La Barbera's and next to the Odyssey. We went there quite often in the early Bay Cities days.

Well, no one has gotten back to me about a dining adventure, so maybe I'll just stay here or maybe I'll take a drive and bring something back.

I already gave the address above - it's 11813, near Barrington.
-
Did you add an extra 1 to the address?

I’m still exhausted.

Not exactly Boston, however, Keith loved a pizza place in Cambridge. After eating it for lunch as it was close to his office, and raving about it, he finally stopped for takeout on his was home. The kids and I weren't as thrilled with the pizza as he was and that was probably due to the fact that there were walnuts on it ;D

ASAP: As soon as practical. And it ain’t practical anytime soon.

Yes.
Yes to both?

The pizza in New Haven, Conn., is justifiably famous. The clams on top made it that much better.
-

I've watched half so far, will finish up in a bit. It's AMAZING what a score does to a movie. At some moments (in this as well as other examples I've seen), it's almost like two different films.

And I felt.... Nothing. :)
-
I was not too big a fan of Chicago deep-dish pizza. It was more reminiscent of a casserole than pizza. But I had a low-carb version with a sausage crust that was memorable.
-
And I felt.... Nothing. :)
Duly noted.

:(
-
And I felt.... Nothing. :)
I'd done a parody that ended with an attempt to combine and reconcile the two Priscilla Lopez songs.
Get upset, go and fret

Listening to an odd novel called Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert, by Bob the Drag Queen. It’s short, and I am enjoying it.

I agree about the New Haven pizza, just not the clams ;D
-
I still miss the New Haven pizza. It is the best I have had in the US.
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
-
Last night we watched "The Friend" and unfortunately wished we had skipped it. For us there was never any joy in the film, which is not what I expected.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats again to bk on Drat! The Cat! Wild and Reckless continues to run through my head.
-
Belated birthday wishes to DRFreddie. I hope you had a lovely day.
-
Happy Birthday in advance to DR George. Hope you have a great day!
-
I am shocked at the behavior of the Levin progeny.
Is he just going to pretend the LA production never happened?

Page Four.

One job is done.

I continue to work on my taxes and other assorted necessities. My taxes are always a bear, but I didn’t expect it to take this long to get everything together. Sigh. Getting close to done.
-
I watched Ludwig on Brit Box. I liked it so much I watched the whole series a second time. Highly recommended. I think it may also be available on Amazon Prime Video.
-
Hi DR Jeanne.
-
Page Four.
-
Paddington in Peru is coming to Netflix on May 15.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
Wishing you all a good week ahead.
TTFN.
-
Sorry you didn't like The Friend, DR Jane.
-
Thanks for the recommendation, DR Jeanne.
-
Belated birthday wishes to DRFreddie. I hope you had a lovely day.
Thanks so much, Jeanne!

One job is done.
That's quick and efficient!

Tax vibes to Jeanne!

Groceries were procured this afternoon at the getting place.
-
But I did not get a nap, and I am feeling the lack thereof right now.
-
Sorry you didn't like The Friend, DR Jane.
Didn't you find it sad, especially the dog?
-
Yes, DR Jane. But I'm not opposed to sad.
-
And there was that scene at the end with all the Great Danes in the dog park.
-
Yes, DR Jane. But I'm not opposed to sad.
I suppose because the dog movie watchdog groups said this was safe to watch I thought it would be more heartwarming. It was not just sad, it was depressing.
-
And there was that scene at the end with all the Great Danes in the dog park.
And he was still sad in the scene.
-
Yes, some of the other dogs were very cute.
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
Congrats to Keith!
-
Thanks DR Kevin.

The worst part is trying to evict Annabelle so I can use the cart for its intended purpose: to cart my things - and theirs - to and from the bathroom and kitchen. She's a very entitled young lady.
Good luck with that, Larry! ;)
-
Back from dancing. Very tired.
-
I am also tired of four.
-
I want more.
-
What a bore is four!
-
Five!
-
It’s alive!
-
That’s no jive.
-
Sez you.

Watching Let Them All Talk. Fun performances from Meryl Streep, Dianne Wiest, and Candice Bergen.

Which pizza place in Cambridge? Most of my old favorites from the area are alas lone gone, especially those with what I considered a Boston-style pie with emphasis on the tomato sauce. Though Regina's is still in the North End as far as I know.

AHA! I just finished VEGAS CAN BE MURDER.
Most excellent!! I shall sleep on it and write a review tomorrow. AND I solved the mystery!
I think I have also solved the mystery in the afterward. I shall PM my thought to MR BK.
-
Good night, friends.

Watching Let Them All Talk. Fun performances from Meryl Streep, Dianne Wiest, and Candice Bergen.
I enjoyed that movie
-
Just finished the Frenzy score without themes from Henry Mancini, which is much better than Goodwin's. It added a buzz, an edge, suspicion, even menace occasionally.
Frenzy is a favorite. I think it would rank even higher if it had the rejected score.
-
Good night, all.
-
Jane, yes I added a 1 because that's the correct address - five numbers, not four.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Looking forward to Jrand's review.
-
Must write notes. Just tried to open the document I usually use and got a warning that it would ruin my computer - say what???
-
Sunday. And holy damn moly, I don't have to go anywhere or play anything today. Or tomorrow. What am I to do with this FREEDOM?
I hear freedom is a notion sweeping the nation.
I thought that Love is Sweeping the Country (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wKDEJoW8sKU)!
;D

Must write notes. Just tried to open the document I usually use and got a warning that it would ruin my computer - say what???
Yikes! :o
-
So far, it hasn't ruined my computer.
-
But page five is ruining my mood.
-
That much I can tell you.
-
And that much I HAVE told you.
-
Listening to music.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Certainly not here.
-
Everyone must be there.
-
It is a momentous day coming up.
-
As you'll see in the notes, which are written.
-
They are written, I tell you.
-
And now... I suspect there's a page waiting to enter.
-
See?
-
About damn time.
-
The time is nigh.
-
Nigh, I tell you.
-
Where the HELL did George get to?
-
Perhaps he's reading a book.
-
And Jrand also solved the mystery question that's in the acknowledgements.
-
George has left the room.
-
Guess he's getting ready to be OLDER.
-
Welcome, 2,277 GUESTS. Who ARE you people?
-
Mystery people.
-
George has left the room.
I was ketchuping on yesterday's posts, and one in particular that Jane posted:
Quote from: Jane on May 02, 2025, 09:22:52 AM
George, who is the hillbilly from Kentucky? Is he someone you regularly follow?
-
I replied:
I don't follow a hillbilly from Kentucky. I'm sorry, but I don't know about whom you are referring. Did I post a video from this person? :-\
-
Jane re-replied:
The guy you posted saying "This should be fine (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GSweMRkUcbU)" called himself a hillbilly from Kentucky. I don't know his name.
-
I can now respond:
That guy is Hawk of Hawk's Podcasts (https://www.youtube.com/@hawkpodcasts/shorts). I don't know his real name. But in that video, he never says that he's a hillbilly from Kentucky. In one of the comments for that video short, a person calls themselves that, but Hawk doesn't.
-
And?
-
There must be more.
-
Regardless, as to your original question, I'm not actually subscribed to his channel, but I do watch a lot of his video shorts when they come up, and because I watch them, they do come up fairly often. :)
-
More there must be.
-
So, a couple of days ago, I got some new glasses. Here are the new (on the top) and my old glasses:
-
What's cool is that the back arms of the new frames are adjustable:

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I posted them.
-
They're there.
-
Not hidden.
-
See?
-
Whew.
