Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the thing about orange chicken, and now it is time for you to post until the orange cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GUFFAW!
-
We could all use a good guffaw now and then.
-
I suppose I could tall the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Broom Handle.
-
That one's a corker.
-
I, too, am a corker.
-
Are you?
-
What a great posting day was yesterday - 300 posts.

Welcome, 696 GUESTS.

Listening to the soundtrack of Klute, a great score by Michael Small.

Good morning, all!
-
I saw Teacher's Pet twice in 1958. I have no idea how that occurred, ut I remembner liking the movie although I cannot tell you anything about the movie. I was 11 or 12 in 1958, depending on the month, and I don't recall laughing at all. I was probably too immature to understand what it was about, and I would like to see it again.
-
Last night was sorta like a repeat of the night before. I woke up around 12:30 and spent the next five hours nodding, dozing, and playing with the cats. Annabelle last night decided to sleep with me rather than her mountain chalet or the cat tree. U had Thatch sleeping on the outside side of the bed and Annabelle on a pillow behind me against the filing cabinets.
-
My friend Bob Kosovsky from the NYPL Music collection is coming to visit tomorrow, so I have a bit of housekeeping to take care of before I will be comfortable admitting him into this squalor I currently inhabit.
-
Good morning, friends.

And others.
-
Good morning, all.

A blah Saturday morning. We’ve had nothing but rain for several days, and I think we’re past it now, but it’s still wet, gray and yucky out there. Well, I don’t mind doing stuff I have to do indoors, but I do need to stock up on some eating products at some point.
-
Plus, I feel blah from a less than great sleep and from whatever my stupid dreams were. They’re totally forgotten, and that’s fine.
-
The very best orange chicken I’ve had was over thirty years ago in my first years living here. That was when there were still several good traditional sit-down Chinese restaurants around town. And we took them for granted. Who knew they would so quickly become a thing of the past? The orange (or tangerine - I’ll take either one) chicken I occasionally have now is okay. But just okay.

This is very nice; Kerr Lockhart from castrecl told me he sent the link to my "What a perfect show for Mother's Day" The Mother --- with the Hat parody song to the author of the play, whom he knows. I respect and enjoy Kerr's opinions a lot, so I think it's a sweet thing for him to do.
Certainly, the playwright won't be offended, since the parody song only kids the marketing of the play. :)

I just realized the cause of today’s blahs. Pollen season is in full force, damn it to HELL!
It’s been here for several days, but now I’m feeling it. Might be a good idea to pop a Benadryl. Let it clear me up some before tonight.

DR CHAS SMITH I think that Mr Stephen Sondheim mentioned your error on his death bed.
-
Saturday. Tomorrow are auditions for The Cemetery Club.....round one.

Good morning

I liked Teacher's Pet when I saw it on television one of the NBC ------ At The Movies series.
I think if the duo had been Rock Hudson, Doris Day, and GIG YOUNG - all three of their movies together would have been even more fun.

It's been a busy week but doing what I couldn't tell you

An HHW puzzler: Pondering whether BK would prefer that we get yesterday's posts to page 12 while yesterday is still open, or just concentrate on today's posts?

We got a nice surprise: rain. It must because I watered this morning.
-
While our new tv is better than our old ones, the sound still isn't great for me. Once again, before the prices go up, we got a good tv for our bedroom this morning. Reasonably it would have made sense to wait until we can move back into our bedroom but by then the prices might increase.
-
Not focused today.

The wife of a man who lived in Maine disappeared, and a week later the
police showed up at his door.
They said: Well, sir, we have bad news, some good news, and some better
news for you. How do you wish to receive it?
Man: I'll take the bad news first.
Police: Okay. I'm afraid your wife is dead. We pulled her body from the
bay this morning.
Man: Oh, dear. Well, what's the good news?
Police: When we brought her up, we found a dozen of the biggest and best
Maine lobsters clinging to her, so we thought we'd share them with you.
Man: Oh... And what's the better news?
Police: We're bringing her up again tomorrow.
-
Best Buy only had the newer model on the floor. Fingers crossed last years model is just as good. The price was much better plus it has what we need to connect my hearing aids to the sound system. If we are really lucky, the sound will be good enough that I won't need to connect to it.

Starting The Man Who Wasn’t There. I liked this in the theater when it first came out. But I don’t remember much about it. And it seems too stylized now.

Somebody gave me some old community cookbooks. Already I have come across a recipe for a congealed vegetable salad. With carrots and celery. Yum? Not.

But there’s one recipe beyond reason: Florence Henderson’s Blueberry Burgers. That’s right. She added blueberries to her burgers. Gag.

Good night, all.

Good day. Visited the mom in law at her living facility for a Mother’s Day snack, then puttered around Surrey, BC; then dropped the boy off at climbing class, came home, picked him up, then took the neighbor lady out for a Mother’s Day dinner. She is selling her house after her husband had a stroke last summer. So we’re trying to enjoy our last weeks as neighbors.
-
Wonder what John G thought of the conclusion of Succession.
-
I liked Doris Day in Love Me or Leave Me.
-
I can’t really get excited about Gone With the Wind, but Gable’s performance is excellent.

Finished with my viewing.

I think I finally figured out why I've never liked Miss Martha Hyer.
