I slept well. In the last couple of months Stella has begun this bad habit of sleeping at the side of my bed, so every time I get out of bed, I step on her. This happened around 11:30 last night and 5:30 when the alarm rang. She's so sweet and pretty, but she's definitely several sandwiches short of a picnic.

To recapture the dreams, it was one of those times that I actually worked through them backwards. I finally realized where they’d started and it all began making a little more sense.

Little known fact that I only know from that time I discovered all my old Day Runners. I read for a The Sunshine Boys tv series pilot that starred Red Buttons and Lionel Stander. They liked me well enough to screen test me and a couple of others, one of whom, Michael Durrell, got the part - he was more of a straight arrow type than I was, but I like to think I did well. I know when I read for it, Neil Simon was in the room, as was director Robert Moore. I never saw it - not even sure it aired.

DR George, did I miss a date for your mother's eye surgery? I hope it goes smoothly.

Thanks, Larry!  But no, you didn't miss the surgery.

She'll have to schedule the actual procedure at, and for, a later date.

MichaelG, Center Stage Records is releasing a cast album of Opening Night, which you saw in London, if I recall correctly.

It has a score by Rufus Wainwright, and is listed in CastAlbums.org (https://castalbums.org/):

Ooh, thanks for the news! Plus there's a concert performance at Town Hall in New York on September 15 with folks like Sara Bareilles, Laura Benanti, Darren Criss, Patti LuPone, and Elizabeth Teeter. The album is due out on September 12.

It would be cool if the could/would record that concert, too!

DR RODZINSKI I took your advice and dropped a message to a friend in the theeder dept. at Purdue to ask if he would like to read the play.

The Executive Producing Director at American Lives Theatre said yes and downloaded the script.....my "friend" at DePauw said yes but NEVER downloaded or acknowledged the link.

That was good of the Executive Producing Director...and not so good of your "friend."

I was sitting next to an uber-Rufus Wainwright fan who flew from Milwaukee to London just for this show. Good thing he didn't wait since it closed pretty soon after I saw it (but I wasn't there for the performances they recorded).

Listening to a beautiful ballet by Matilde Salvador - must see if there's anything else out there by her. It's just terrific. Called El Ruiseñor i la Rosa, from 1958. Delightfully tuneful.

Maybe I'll issue it with a couple of other tuneful, rare ballet scores/
