PUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.

Come, Mr. Talisman, talisman banana...

~~~POSITIVE VIBES~~~ for DR George's TAO!!!
-
More vibes for George's TAO!
Hope the good things come through.
-
Tao is (of course) the name of the leading character's (straight platonic) friend on the streaming hit series "Heartstopper."
-
But I believe the theater company TAO had the name first, before the streaming TV series was ever on the air.
-
Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. Nothing eventful happened, which was nice, and I lazed about with the cats. I got throgh six more chapters of A&T, but I will not meet my deadline for today, so I will finish that tomorrow.
-
Is a series still called "on the air" when it's streaming?
That may be another question for when Messiah comes.
-
Welcome, 469 GUESTS!
165 of the Guests are still here early in a Sunday morning!
-
HHW may be on its way to being THE place to hang out after the bars have closed on Saturday night.
DR Jrand74. I loved reading about your aspirations to become Mrs Tex Van Cliburn.
-
The Weekly Reader. Haven't thought about that publication in a long time.
-
DR Jrand74. I loved reading about your aspirations to become Mrs Tex Van Cliburn.
Jrand, your description of the gatekeeper keeping you from Van Cliburn came full circle with your stage door lady at "Dial M for Murder" keeping 22 year old Freddie in 1982 from meeting you after the play. (Oh wait, that stage door thing only happened in an unfinished time travel screenplay.)
-
Good morning.
-
I need to walk to the store to get some milk for cupcake frosting.
-
Whenever I see chocolate, I hear two voices in my head.
One of them says, "East the chocolate!"
Meanwhile, the other voice says, "You heard him... Eat the chocolate!"
-
Speaking of the pair of keets...
I saw two black birds in my yard this morning. They were stuck togethers.
Turns out, they were velcrows.
:)
Let's get this show on the road.
One more.
Modern dance dance.
Do you think this would be a good combination?
Oy! (That's a good oy!)
-
Good morning, all.
-
Do you think this would be a good combination?
Hmm, I'd try a slice. (Assuming rhubarb bacon is just a type of bacon with a bit of rhubarb flavor)
-
I did like the movie RHUBARB, about the cat who inherited a baseball team.
-
Yesterday, I saw two jack rabbits, two deer, a road runner and longhorn cattle. Only one posed.
-
And I had some pecan pie a la mode.
That looks delicious!
-
This might be a good day. Turn out I have very good chances of approval for the PayPal Cashback Mastercard.
:)
-
Rhubarb is one of my favorite foods. But I shouldn’t have it, as it is high in oxalic acid, which causes kidney stones in me. And I don’t need those.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I do believe this is the morning after my last musical of the season. I have two spring concerts in the next two weeks, and that's it.
-
It's a cool clear day here, topping off at 70 degrees. That's very welcome after the past several muggy and gray and rainy days.
-
This afternoon I'm seeing Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) at the Bedford Playhouse. I liked it a lot back in the day so it'll be fun to reacquaint myself with it and see how it holds up. There's a Q&A afterward with co-star Campbell Scott, who I don't think I much know but he's in a lot of things. It'll be a nice afternoon.
-
And then Tuesday evening I'm seeing George Stevens Jr. and the documentary about his father's career and filmography. That was made in 1985 but I don't think I ever saw it. I'd go anyway, and Robert Harris will be there. That will definitely be a fine evening.
I have never been able to see that one and want to. Anything Alan Rudolph does is worth a look.
-
I have that original Munch LP of the Ravel. It was issued in one of RCA's lovely "hardcover albums" with several pages of notes inside. I also have the 1955 stereo that Chesky Records issued on LP in the late 80s. I thought I had the other stereo Munch, but it's not here, and somehow I never got the RCA SACD either, damn it.
I thought I had the Monteux as well, and I do, but it's a reissue on London/Richmond. The only other one here Levine's, with Vienna. I have the Dover full score, and I think now I'll have to take all of these out and do some list'nin'.
-
If I can fit them in, it’s a five winery day.
I never saw it in a theeder, only on laserdisc, so this will be a treat.
-
Just remembered that Campbell Scott was in another Rudolph film, The Secret Lives of Dentists. And he co-directed Big Night, if I recall correctly.
A lesson in learning to never throw out a good tune -
Where the music for (most of) "Tomorrow" originated, in this short movie called REPLAY
At 2:32 here - a song with music and lyrics by Mr. Strouse, I assume called "The Way It Is Now"
From DR Jrand:
Not that is was an obsession or anything like that.
;D I think, when young, we have all had obsessions like that.
-
DR George, fingers crossed for your TAO.
-
DR George, I hope your Safeway faucilities aren't locked. Ours unfortunately need to be. I keep the code number but since I rarely use them the number has usually been changed by then. Then I have to search for someone to give me the new code.
When we travel in foreign countries I am not thrilled to see food places like McDonald's and KFC. Starbucks makes me happy as, just like here, they have a decent bathroom to use. Keith will buy tea and I might get a small hot chocolate in appreciation and to be proper customers.
Yes, George C. Scott’s son and George Stevens’ son in consecutive days!
-
Campbell was good in Roger Dodger.
The first time I saw him was as the dying guy in Dying Young with Julia Roberts.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about seven hours of sleep.
-
ChasSmith, I think the SACD of the Munch can still be found reasonably. Let's check.
This one is twenty and you can make an offer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225764291494
I got mine from this dealer on amazon - same price of 15.99: https://www.amazon.com/Ravel-Daphnis-Chloe-Complete-Maurice/dp/B0002TKFHW
Or, if you want to spend more money, one dealer on eBay has it for 99 bucks :)
The National Theeder production of Here We Are is being filmed. The second act has supposedly been trimmed and additional musical underscoring, not lyrics, have been added.
The modern dance recital was exhilarating.
Three dance companies jointly presented, so there were a wide variety of styles on offer.
Fortunately, that Safeway did not have a locked bathroom.
The Tumwater Fred Meyer also is not locked, but the Lacey Fred Meyer is locked...very inconvenient!
And the couple of places that I've gone to two days in a row, the code was different, so I assume that most places change the code daily.
Freddie, yes the repeated rhubarb is from a show song.
-
I managed to watch three motion pictures without dozing.
-
I did doze a bit between them.
-
I need some healthy greens so a Caesar salad from Cheesecake Factory is on its merry way to me.
-
Well, if I'm to reach a new plateau this evening I'll have to post up a storm - so, it may be tomorrow. We'll see how productive I want to be.
-
It would be nice to get off this damn page.
-
I could rhyme us to death.
-
That might be fun.
-
And then we'd have won.
-
And this page would be done.
-
We've only just begun.
-
Of posts, that would be a ton.
-
If there's a Randy Vicar is there a Randy Nun?
-
I could do a pun.
-
Maybe we should shun the pun.
-
The pun might stun.
-
Well, closer now.
-
Much closer.
-
Rhyming always helps.
-
Twenty posts. I can do that.
-
I'm actually quite hungry at this moment in time.
-
Don't worry - I won't rhyme time.
-
Oh, I did.
-
What's the rhubarb song?
-
I watched three Mae West movies on TCM and now I never need to see one again.
-
The last was from Columbia Pictures in 1943 - her last until she did Myra Breckinridge in 1970 or so.
It was called The Heat's On and Steven Scheuer wrote in his book Movies on TV....The Heat's Off!
And he was correct. Mae looked all of her 50 years and the plot and characters were a no go from the start.
-
Are you going to tell us why it is lame?
Finally caught up.
Good night, all.
-
Are you going to tell us why it is lame?
The wines, all using grapes from Yakima Valley, not Texas, tasted like adult soda.
Huh, what's the point of that? Is there an untapped market for sweet Texas wines from Washington state grapes? Are they super-cheap?
-
Oops, got hung up doing something.
-
Salad was good.
-
LEt's get to the new plateau first.
-
Not to mention getting off this damn page.
-
Where the HELL is George?
-
Eating a burrito, I have no doubt.
-
Just for clout.
-
That's what it's about.
-
Or maybe he has gout.
-
He'll twist and shout.
-
And eat some trout.
-
Uh oh, I rhymed again.
-
Well, here it comes and hopefully George wILL show up and immortalize it.
-
Two more to go.
-
One more to go.
-
And - here it is!
-
Now to write some damn notes.
Gratuitous Post #200!!
And - here it is!
Here it is...plus one! ;D
