Vibes for Mrs. Rodzinski! What a terrible accident, but at least good that the person who caused it stuck around.
-
BK, great that you got rid if the thousands of bots!
So given that, are the 353 Guests who are viewing this board right now (6:30 a.m. Eastern time) legitimate people type Guests viewing various sections of HHW?
-
More vibes for a modern major miracle for BK!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I will not be around much because of this tendonitus. It's affecting my entire arm to my shoulder muscles, and once it gets reared up, all I can do is get off the computer and let everything relax.
-
While I was typing that last post, my neighbor Ann stopped by to check on me. This is the last week of school, and she's got evening events all week, then she's off to Boston for Father's Day, so she wanted to know if I needed anything before she's literally back ext week. Today is Jen's birthday; I'm glad she told me so I can send Jen an e-card today.
-
DR Rodzinski, I am so happy that Mrs R is okay and everything - with the exception of her car - ended so well.
-
DR John G, on the morning news, I saw a short interview with an author whose gastronomic ghost story was published recently.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.

So very sorry to hear about Mrs. Rodz, and so glad it wasn't any worse. {{{HUGS}}} and ~~~HEALING VIBES!!!~~~

CONGRATULATIONS, DR vixmom, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!!

Congrats to DR VIXMOM on her millstone.

Glad to hear that Mrs. Rodz is okay.....that could have been even more scary.

Good morning, all.

BK -- I thought the German crime film you watched sounded kind of intriguing, but you didn't say what it was.
-
As for site wonkiness, from where I sit it's all over the map.
Just reading it earlier on the phone was very slow going, and a few times it wouldn't load at all. Checking it briefly on the iPad, it seemed normal. Now that I'm on the laptop, some things are fine and some (like getting the notes page to load) are slow.
-
We're continuing to have many consecutive days of rain here, some light, some quite heavy. The next two days are supposedly going to be sunny and warm, but we'll just see about that.
After that, probably rain again, and likely rain on Saturday which would make it the 13th Saturday in a row. I think I mis-stated that number before, but the 13th Saturday will be appropriate, seeing as how it will fall on the day after Friday the 13th (cue spooky theremin music).
-
Good morning.
-
I found a passed out person at the park this morning. Hopefully passed out and not dead.
-
I notified a ranger and will let the pros take care of it.

That's the third "body" I've found. I think they were all intoxicated.

I'm glad Mrs. R is ok. How frightening!
-
OMG, by the time I was posting the above, I forget to say anything about Mrs. Rodz!
That is horrible, and I was so relieved to hear that she escaped with only the airbag bruising or whatever it did (we had a light case of airbag burn here once) and of course the shock of the accident happening at all. And thank gawd the guilty party didn't pull a hit and run like so many do these days.
There's nothing like being shaken up by something like that, because we are indeed shaken by those things even if we don't feel it at first. I hope she can take it easy for a few days in the comfort of home.
-
Yes, a big whew for the Mrs of Rodzinski!

I'm not up, I'm not up.

I had missed that Bradley Coooper has a Cheesesteak restaurant in Manhattan.

I've been very pleased with Jersey Mike's Philly Cheesesteak, but this might be worth a try at some point.

The New Yorker gave his cheesesteak a good review, too.

Thanks to DR singdaw and DR FREDDIE for the good wishes.

I would hate for a dead man to pull a gun on me!
-
Today my sister and her husband are going to mow my lawn.
-
I am kind of watching for the trash truck to make sure they don't forget me two weeks in a row.
-
Add my good wishes for you, Brother JRand!
-
And thank you all for your warm thoughts for Mrs R.
-
Our insurance is pretty responsive so far but I wonder if we are also supposed to contact the other guy’s insurance or let ours handle everything.
-
Today my sister and her husband are going to mow my lawn.
How nice of them!
-
Congrats, Vixmom.
-
Thanks, Elmore, for the book tip.
-
Three!
-
DR Rodzinski, I would ask your insurance agent that very question.
In a case like this one (especially because this was serious and your car will surely be totaled), I would think that you absolutely want your insurance to handle everything, including interacting with the other guy's insurance.
But I've gone straight to the other guy's insurance in "small" incidents when I specifically did NOT want to make a claim on my own, and that worked fine. I've done that twice successfully, leaving my policy "clean". First time it happened, I called my agent and they advised me to do just that because making a claim, even for a small amount and when it's not my fault, would still affect my record and my premiums -- which I find completely abominable, but that's how it works.
-
Thanks DR RODZINSKI.
-
To no one's surprise - except maybe his - the director of A Christmas Carol is pissing and moaning about the tickets sales of his show.
Several of us tried to tell him it was a dumb idea.....Now we are all suffering.......especially at the box office and in season ticket sales.
-
Underwater.
-
Several of us tried to tell him it was a dumb idea.....
Somehow, it's still all your fault.
-
DR Jrand74, maybe you got out while the getting was good.
-
Ah yes, the famous Christmas In July programming.
-
Our insurance is pretty responsive so far but I wonder if we are also supposed to contact the other guy’s insurance or let ours handle everything.
When my DH was rear-ended a couple of years ago, the other guy's insurance contacted us.
-
Are you feeling any better today, JRand?
-
:)
-
There was a Castrecl thread about the Library of America's paperback edselected lyrics by Cole Porter, and that got me thinking about my old friend Robert Kimball, whom I haven't seen or spoken to in maybe ten years. I hope he is well.
-
DR Rodzinski I couldn't connect with HHW this morning and didn't see your scary post until now. I read the following posts before commenting.
I'm relieved Mrs Rodzinski walked away from that, and impressed that the driver stayed. How does her body feel today?
-
Rodzinski, at first I thought you had fortunately gotten the kids to school before she called. Darn, but it is good you could simply keep your son with you since that is what he needed, and maybe it helped you a bit.
-
Also, thanks for the kind cop.

Our insurance is pretty responsive so far but I wonder if we are also supposed to contact the other guy’s insurance or let ours handle everything.
You can double check with your insurance but my guess it, since they authorized the car rental, that they will take care of it.

I had that once with the same situation. Only my car was hurt and their agent was great.

AFTERTASTE should be available for me to read soon. It came in a couple of weeks ago when I had too many books checked out and I had to suspend my hold.

Tomorrow is going to be very hectic here. Our new bathroom is basically completed and the new carpeting will be installed.
-
I had a bacon cheeseburger for food from Islands. I haven't ordered from there in years because they would always muck up the order - and - today was no exception. They forgot the fries. I called them and they really could not care less, It's really a shame.
-
We have already begun clearing out the dresser that needs to go back in the bedroom, plus the closet in our guest room as it is getting matching carpeting.
-
And I'm tired.
-
First thing in the morning I will be washing our bedding to put back on our bed once it has been returned to our bedroom.

Mazeltov on your (partial) new arrivals!
Will there be a bidet?
-
Alas, no. No room. I know they make bidets that glom onto or otherwise amend regular seats. Perhaps something to explore.

Tuesday is officially over on the east coast, but I still have a little bit to post Tuesday news!
Truth is, I have none...other than I hate FedEx's local driver who, in stormy weather, left a box beside my garage door, exposed to the elements, rather than putting it out of harm's way on my front porch which is protected from the elements. I guess it wasn't convenient for him, but the box held an expensive book that, fortunately, escaped ruin. The box it was shipped in was soaked through and fell apart while I was opening it.
We have had nothing BUT troubles with Fed Ex hereabouts for several months. Trouble is, the longtime delivery guy was an older man who died six months ago. We never had problems with him. Many folks, including me, have had their packages left at addresses not even remotely similar to the addresses on the packages.
The best thing about living here, however, is that local folks genuinely care about mail getting to the right place, and most of us have had our packages brought to us by the folks who got them in error.
-
For the full spa experience, dontcha know.
TMI, I know, but I have never experienced a bidet. ::)
I lived in Italy for nine-and-a-half years. All my apartments had bidets in them. Most Americans loved to do strange things, like putting plants in them. I always used mine for a foot wash.
