Well, you've read the notes, the notes finished the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the 27 finished cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROACTIVE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have another grisly day: mopping the bathroom and kitchen, and that will finish up all the pre-inspection work for tomorrow. I may spend the rest of the week in bed recuperating.
-
Congratulations on finishing the book, BK!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last night, perhaps because of my posts yesterday, I watched the film version of Paul Rudnick's AIDS comedy, Jeffrey, which I first saw Off-Broadway around 1993. I hadn't seen the film in years, and I had forgotten how many friends were in it. It's very funny and touching, but on the minus side, it also brought back too many memories of friends I lost to AIDS. There's a scene in which Bryan Batt's character Darius, who is dying from AIDS, falls on the stairs as he, Patrick Stewart, and Steven Weber are leaving a City Ballet Nutcracker - I think that's the ballet; the sound on Amazon Prime for this movie is terrible - and I was suddenly hyperventilating and weeping through the remainder of the film.
-
We had thought of going up to the Elephant's Trunk Flea Market this morning, but it's
(wait for it)
raining.
It'll stop this morning, but no fun walking the place on wet ground and in the heat that's coming, so forget it this week.
-
Today is the first day of our official 4-day heat wave, which will go something like:
Sunday - 90
Monday - 95
Tuesday - 97
Wednesday - 92
Then a drop to 81 on Thursday.
-
I never saw Jeffrey. I'll put it on my list.
-
Congrats to MR BK on finishing the hat.
-
Travel vibes for the RODZ family.
-
Glad to hear that DR LAURA's shoes stayed on.
-
Yes DR FREDDIE the outage included the AC.
-
Forecast of 92 degrees this afternoon.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept well. And it felt good.
-
Once upon a time, proactive was not a word. But the language is organic.
-
I remember liking the film of Jeffrey, just not as much as the play.
-
Break #1
Kitty cleanup is finished and the things on the bathroom floor are either in the bathtub or sitting in the foyer waiting for the Pooph spray to dry.
-
DR ChasSmith, how's your weather? We have high humidity, dark skies, and a ot of thunder at the moment.
-
DR Rodzinski, can we expect Trouble in Tahiti? Safe travels, dear friend!
DR Laura,happy you enjoyed (?) the play? How were the puppets?
-
DR Jrand, I am sorry to learn about your power. This is not the time for a power outage.
DR John G, I preferred the play, too, but I loved all the star cameos, from Patrick Stewart, whom I preferred over Edward Hibbert, to Robert Klein, Nathan Lane, and Sigourney Weaver.
-
Break almost over. I needed to dry off.
Step 2 is vacuuming the bathroom and kitchen floors before I mop (Step 3).
-
Hello and happy Sunday...On the new Broadway Radio Show, Celia Berk is back to chat about her terrific new project Four Seasons of Song. On this episode, we focus on her Spring & Summer EPs and the process of putting together this great collection!

-
Good morning.
-
The puppets were spectacular, Elmore.
-
There was a woman sitting behind us who had a former student in the cast. She had been there on opening night in Tempe, when one of the special effects didn't work and they canceled the show 40 minutes in.
She said she was sitting in the balcony that night, and the view of the shipwreck was spectacular -- something we missed sitting in the orchestra. We still thought it was impressive.
-
I'm retrying my culinary experiment from a couple of weeks ago. I made carrot muffins, zucchini muffins, and berry muffins -- some round and some bars.
-
I hope no one brings donuts.
-
When did "donut" become a correct spelling? When I was a kid it was "doughnut."
-
I hope no one brings donuts.
I don't think anyone else has ever said that. :D
-
But curious to hear the results of the experiment.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
We are supposed to get up to 97 today, with a "feels like" of 110.
-
Unusual for us; perhaps not for our TX and AZ DRs.
-
The Scweam.
-
DR ChasSmith, how's your weather? We have high humidity, dark skies, and a ot of thunder at the moment.
Rain has stopped and it's brightening up. Yes to high humidity, and we're bracing ourselves for the coming heat. Thanks to that rain, it should be a real steamer. Just what we needed.
-
When did "donut" become a correct spelling? When I was a kid it was "doughnut."
I prefer doughnut myself. But we like to shorten things.
-
Break #2
The floors are vacuumed. Everything is mopped except for the section of the bathroom where the litter box and litter mat sit. As soon as the bathroom floor is dry, I will move the litter box to a dry spot and finish mopping the bathroom. I'm rather pleased how easily it's gone so far.
-
When did "donut" become a correct spelling? When I was a kid it was "doughnut."
I blame Dunkin' Donuts.
-
Congratulations on finishing Book 27, BK!!!
-
The Scweam.
LOL!!!
-
I hope no one brings donuts.
I don't think anyone else has ever said that. :D
LOL.
-
Unusual for us; perhaps not for our TX and AZ DRs.
We had a fairly cool day here yesterday at 104. Which is nice when your theater tickets are for 2 p.m.
-
Whether rectangle or round, the real winner will be the berry streusel muffins, because they are so pretty.
-
Something I expressed to the minister last night is my concern about ICE raids at churches.
Something I never thought I'd hear myself say.
-
I suggested having someone hang around the lobby until the service starts and then lock the doors, with said person hanging around the lobby to let late-comers inside.
-
Well, I'm off. I'll let you all know the outcome of the experiment. I'm sure ya'll are interested.
-
And I am finished. I can spend the next 2.5 hours before I begin thinking about dinner for me and the kitties resting my weary bones. I estimated a finish around 10:00, so I'm nearly 90 minutes off.
I can't put anything back in the bathroom before the floor is dry, so that has to wait. I'm going to put the vacuum away and lie down for a time. I'm sure the cats are happy I've finished destroying their Sunday schedule.
-
When did "donut" become a correct spelling? When I was a kid it was "doughnut."
I blame Dunkin' Donuts.
Definitely. I have sometimes typed "donut", but I most often use "doughnut" out of respect for what's right.
-
Well, the skies are getting brighter, so I guess we're heading into hellishly warm days. I hope the humidity stays low.
-
Fuck Tramp!
-
Congratulations bk on finishing the book!
-
Experiment vibes to DR Laura.
-
Great news on the book, BK.
-
Stirring from a nap.
-
Need to pack.
-
Page turn!
-
Three!
-
J.B. is at the Tweet Suites. He didn't want to go, poor Birdy.
-
Poor guy. Did he let out a scweam?
-
What we need is a
drink Lime Rickey.
-
Or popcorn.
-
But first, a nap.
-
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVELS~~~ DR John G.
-
Perhaps DR Rodz will drop by eventually and tell us how are things in Bora Bora.
-
Do they have boars in Bora Bora?
-
Lots of work done today DR ELMORE. Huzzah!
-
It is 91 degrees outside with a feels like of 100 degrees.
This will last through Tuesday, they say
-
I enjoyed watching The History Boys yesterday. I also watched a short extra about This History Boys on tour in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia and the on Broadway.
It was most entertaining.
Had anyone listened to the commentary? I am almost tempted to listen.
-
I didn't have anything to watch today.....so I started an award winning movie from last year....The Brutalist.
-
I don't think "enjoy" is the right word.....but it did hold my interest.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
It's so hot that I'm ordering in Jersey Mike's and going for the cold roast beef sandwich instead of the fabulous Philly Cheesesteak.
That's pretty drastic.
-
Still haven't tried Bradley Cooper's Philly Cheesesteak restaurant yet, but I hear great things.
-
Sadly, there was no commentary on the Amazon Prime viewing, but I would sure like to. I;ve got the playwright's ished diaries, and the one for the year the play was filmed has much about the play.
-
Lots of work done today DR ELMORE. Huzzah!
I am very happy about it, but my body is disagreeing with that.
Wordle 1,464 5/6
⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨
⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜
⬜🟩🟨🟨⬜
⬜🟩🟨🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
-
So, yesterday was a long day.
-
We did our half-hour presentation of The HEAD!!! That Wouldn't DIE! at the local TV station, and the performance itself went well, but they didn't have the stand microphone on to pick up the voices for the first number, only the music track, so that doesn't make sense...but for the rest of the performance, the voices were heard.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Congrats on finishing the book, BK!
-
It's available on YouTube here:
https://www.youtube.com/live/BmSKDd0Zz4M
Jump to about an hour in to see just our presentation.
-
Wordle: 5/6. I was not familiar with today's word, so it was a good guess.
-
After the TV station presentation, I went and had dinner with my friends from high school at a local non-Native casino restaurant.
-
I didn't get home until about 2:00 a.m., so I just went right to bed...and now, I'm off to my mom's to play cards since we didn't play on Friday.
-
Forecast for the DC area: Monday: 94 degrees, Tuesday: 99, Wednesday: 100. With high humidity, of course.
-
But first, Congrats to BK on finishing his latest book!!
-
The results are in.
-
The answer is: Rectangles.
-
Hurray!
-
DR GEORGE that was very funny and everybody was very good!!!
-
What time does the game start tonight, JRand?
-
Made it to the hills.
-
The room is not on the lowest level this time, so I doubt I will see the fox.
-
It’s the exact same room, except for the refrigerator, which opens on the right. The other opened on the left, as does mine at home.
-
Sixth world problem, I know.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Refrigerator post 100!
-
There’s a stargazing party tonight. Sounds like fun.
-
I futzed and finessed, added a page of new stuff, got rid of a couple of things, but we did get up to and over 48,000 words. Then I sent the last batch of pages to Muse Margaret - they're usually out on Sunday so she may not get to it until tomorrow.
-
Then I picked up a package from the mail place.
-
Then I came home and ordered a bacon cheeseburger from Tom's - pretty good.
-
Then I finished the commentary and thank heavens it's done.
-
And now, I'm vegging out on the damn couch like so much fish.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
DR GEORGE that was very funny and everybody was very good!!!
I really enjoyed it, too!
-
Wordle: 5/6. I was not familiar with today's word, so it was a good guess.
Neither was Keith.
-
Keith got Wordle in four.
-
DR Rodzinski, have a fabulous vacation!
-
DR Laura while pleased, I am not surprised that your shoes stayed on for the entire performance.
-
DR John your Plumbago looks pretty.
-
Laura, what a bit of a mess with the security alarm situation. I hope the problems can be fixed.
-
As it turns out, Muse Margaret called hours ago and I didn't hear the damn phone. I was here, the phone was with me when I picked up the package - so irritating. But she left me a message and the new pages so I knew I was okay.
-
And I just had a long conversation - she was very emotional as was I last night, and she said just what any writer wants to hear: Do not change a single word. She has really loved this book from start to finish, except for the two bits she had me remove, which she was totally right about.
-
From Bruce:
Do old people just have to stop eating ice cream? Or is it just me whose stomach cannot seem to deal with it anymore.
Try taking a chewable Laxtaid with the first bite, or getting a lower fat gelato. I am very grateful for my Protonix that helps, plus every morning before breakfast I take one of these.
-
I hope no one brings donuts.
Good luck.
-
When did "donut" become a correct spelling? When I was a kid it was "doughnut."
Both are correct.
-
We are supposed to get up to 97 today, with a "feels like" of 110.
You have my sympathy.
-
FIVE!
Whether rectangle or round, the real winner will be the berry streusel muffins, because they are so pretty.
Yum.
-
Something I expressed to the minister last night is my concern about ICE raids at churches.
Something I never thought I'd hear myself say.
Oh my! Do you think it is a possibility at your church? Fortunately the police did not show up yesterday.
-
I suggested having someone hang around the lobby until the service starts and then lock the doors, with said person hanging around the lobby to let late-comers inside.
Great suggestion but it is sad it is needed.
-
Well, I'm off. I'll let you all know the outcome of the experiment. I'm sure ya'll are interested.
I am very interested.
-
It started about 8p.m. EDST on ABC.....so there are about 6 minutes left in the first quarter.....Pacers lead by 4.
-
J.B. is at the Tweet Suites. He didn't want to go, poor Birdy.
Poor Birdy.
-
Or popcorn.
I will be having that tonight.
-
It is 91 degrees outside with a feels like of 100 degrees.
This will last through Tuesday, they say
Groan.
-
Bruce, congratulations of finishing your book.
-
The answer is: Rectangles.
Interesting. Thanks for the report.
Mmmmm! Delicious page turn!
Sixth world problem, I know.
More research. Just to be a completist.
-
The new season of The Gilded Age has started. If I watch it now, I will want to watch the whole season.
Sixth world problem, I know.
-
Poor JB.
-
The sun hasn’t set (not a Sondheim reference) and the stargazing party starts in five minutes
-
Thanks for reporting on the experiment results, DR Laura.
-
Nice to have Muse Margaret's seal of approval.
-
Pigs in blankets? What about squids and crabs in blankets?
-
A new culinary trend?
-
What WILL they think of next?
-
DR John G., does this trip mean you may be adding to your manuscript?
-
Struggling toward a page turn.
-
Struggling being the operative word.
-
Words make sentences.
-
And sentences make posts.
-
One more.
-
PAGE SIX!
-
Good night, friends.
-
DR John G., does this trip mean you may be adding to your manuscript?
Adding a touch and revising a little.
-
Vega was sparkling out there. And Sagittarius. And the Dippers. But it was a little too bright.
-
Watching a dreadful inept movie that somehow has a really good cast.
-
Good night, all.
I didn't get home until about 2:00 a.m., so I just went right to bed...and now, I'm off to my mom's to play cards since we didn't play on Friday.
I ordered pizzas from the Tumwater Brewery City Pizza (https://www.brewerycitypizza.com/). I ordered the Harvester (without bacon for my niece), and a sausage, pepperoni and pineapple for anyone who didn't want the Harvester.
-
It was all quite tasty, but just two medium pizzas were not as much pizza as I expected, but better than too much, so it's all good.
-
We then played two games of Phase 10...I lost both...as usual.
-
Dee (not my sister DeeDee) who is another regular player, brought some Costco cheesecake. :)
-
Page SIX???
-
Not very sporting.
-
Finished with my viewing - thank goodness.
-
DR GEORGE that was very funny and everybody was very good!!!
Thanks, Jrand!
-
Our first two versions of the show are on YouTube, if you want (or anyone else wants) to see them. Let me know and I can post the links.
-
Then I came home and ordered a bacon cheeseburger from Tom's - pretty good.
Here in Olympia there's a burger joint called Big Tom's, which is an off-shoot of Eagan's. :)
-
And now, I'm vegging out on the damn couch like so much fish.
As well you should!
-
DR GEORGE that was very funny and everybody was very good!!!
I really enjoyed it, too!
Thanks, Freddie!
-
I think we're going to have the one-off Seattle performance recorded, so that'll be the whole current version of the show!
