Well, you've read the notes, the notes were allergic to the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the allergic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BRAVO!
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Well, this has been quite the adventure with the site. Glad to see it up and running.
-
I tried Flonase. It caused my blood sugar to skyrocket 400 points. I stopped.
-
Glad to see the site is up.

I’m sitting in a wine bar in Mason, TX.
-
A quick answer to the TOD, and then I must get back to doing some things:
Flonase. I have moderate seasonal allergies, but they can be annoying and sometimes rough. My doctor actually prescribed it a few years before it went to being an OTC thing, which told me they took it pretty seriously.
So did it work, and does it still? Yes, it helps considerably, but you have to stick with it regularly. I've used both the name brand and less pricey store brands, and they seem equal in quality.

Yikes!! What the HELL?
-
I tried Flonase. It caused my blood sugar to skyrocket 400 points. I stopped.
Wow! Do you know if it affected your A1C during the time you were taking it?
-
Nice news in the notes about the residual check.

I hope the wine is good.
-
I just finished a session with my student. It was fun. I'm happy I stayed awake.
-
I slept quite poorly last night. I could not get comfortable, everything ached, and I didn't get to sleep until after 11:30. I had an unsettling nightmare, something in the 19th century involving a serial killer, red-headed women victims, and I was with several detectives protecting a victim who had been tortured and survived. God alone knows why I had this ugly dream.
-
I spent most of the night awake and sleeping very fitfully. I would have liked to sleep late but I had too much to accomplish this morning
-
Got the flyer info to Doug Haverty.
-
Already have one blurb - just one sentence -- short and sweet as the blubber described it, and it is. Sometimes you can say more in a sentence than in a paragraph.
-
Ordered from P.F. Chang's - there was a $13 off coupon. I like that they give you a calorie count. The two things I ordered don't even come to 700 calories.
-
I feel very logy and may try for more sleep later.
-
Had to go to the bank to deposit the Kritzerland show check.
-
Page one? :)
-
I think we should be on page two by now.
-
And yet, we're not.
-
We could be.
-
And yet, we're not.
-
Glad that things are back to "normal".
-
But soon.
-
Can't be on this damn page forever.
-
Throat is still a bit raw - better than yesterday, I think, but too much damn phlegm.
-
Over the counter for allergies I use the WalMart generic bland....non drowsy....it works very well.
But the other day someone suggested that you tell your doctor and perhaps get a prescription strength medication.
-
Enter page two.

I am now the proud owner of an IPhone 16E.....baaa-rother....................
-
Good afternoon.
-
Oh, nice! A new phone!
Every once in a while my DH is told we qualify for a new phone. Usually about the time something goes wrong with mine.
-
Years ago the doctor prescribed Fosonate and it burned my nose. I was then prescribed Rhinocort which I found far more comfortable and it considerably helped my allergies. Rhinocort is budesonide, a different corticosteroid than Flonase and known to be more gentle though not as strong.
I found if I went on it at the beginning of the allergy season (spring) I could go off of it by the end of the summer and be decent the rest of the year.
Eventually I stopped using it as I had improved and it is a cortisone.
-
Last year I felt I needed to go on Rhinocort again but sadly it was discontinued. I couldn't find a generic budesonide locally and then decided I could live without it.
-
Amazon does sell the generic spray.
-
Already have one blurb - just one sentence -- short and sweet as the blubber described it, and it is. Sometimes you can say more in a sentence than in a paragraph.
Very nice, and I agree about a single entence vs a paragraph.
-

Congratulations!
-
DR Jrand were you able to retrieve your information from your old phone?

Topic of the Day: I have never used, nor, most fortunately, have I ever needed products such as Flonase.

Agreed!

Ordered from P.F. Chang's - there was a $13 off coupon. I like that they give you a calorie count. The two things I ordered don't even come to 700 calories.
That's great, BK...both for the coupon and the calorie count. :)

Congrats, Jrand!

I know nothing about Apple products. I'll stick to Android phones.
-
I am thinking about getting a new (to me...probably refurbished) phone.
-
Finally enough reading time to finish “Directed By.” I think the writer was way too hard on the actor who played John in The Creature Wasn’t Nice.
-
I got my current phone about five years ago, and it's still working well, but it's developing little quirks that are starting to make me go "hmmm."
-
“Cooking With John” is a dagblame master class in comedy!
-
Finally enough reading time to finish “Directed By.” I think the writer was way too hard on the actor who played John in The Creature Wasn’t Nice.
Isn't that always the way? Some directors just have to pick on someone. ;)

Not another! :(
-
With my Dad living to 100-1/2 and Mom living to 94-1/2, maybe I've gotten "spoiled" as to what a good long life is.
And who knows how long Dad might have lived if he hadn't gotten Covid in Jan. 2021, before the vaccines were REALLY everywhere - and he got Covid even with 24/7 at-home care.
-
TOD: Flonase works great for me. Don't take it with Claritin-D! That would be overdosing on decongestant. Claritin never did anything for me; I use 24-hour Allegra for the antihistamine and Flonase for the decongestant. It works well, doesn't make me drowsy, and doesn't mess up my voice. (Zyrtec worked well but dried me out too much for singing.) Everyone responds differently to these medications though.
-
LOL DR ROSZINSKI & DR GEORGE.
-
DR JANE unfortunately not - my phone would not charge even using the Verizon superfragicalilisticexpialidocious charge.
So I am building my contacts.....but photos, etc, or lost.....not much there.....
-
Lalo Schifrin was great. He also lived next door to the Shermans.
-
Tomorrow the air conditioner man is coming to my house at 8 a.m. Because I have been sweltering.
I hope he can find a solution.....but after spending $$ today on a phone - I am feeling like I am on the way to the poor house as they used to say.
-
I've been to P.F. Changs any number of times. It's average and has never once been more than that. Food was average, which is much better than terrible.
-
Hackers were the problem last night and this morning. You'd have to be pretty desperate as a hacker to target a site like this. Maybe it's someone who doesn't like that we're the longest running day blog in the history of the Internet? Oh well. But I suspect other sites on our server were also affected.

Sorry.

Tonight starts the "90 Years of French Cinema" class which my wife and I are both taking. It tentatively begins with "Port of Shadows" from 1938 and a discussion of French Poetic Realism. But last term the first film changed from what was on the preliminary syllabus, so we'll see.

Word is that our two new toilets MIGHT be installed tomorrow morning.

I used to say I shared a nutrition plan with Barbara Cook, but at some point, that became in bad taste.

Bruce, Keith has used Flonase on and off. He said it helps some.
Both Flonase (fluticasone) and Rhinocort (budesonide) can take awhile before you notice a consistant improvement.
-
Good afternoon, again.
-
I don't believe I've needed to take anything for allergies since my doctor started me on Singulair for asthma. It is also prescribed for allergies, I understand.
-
I have nothing to report, except that while my DH was out for some groceries, I stripped the bed and washed the bedding, vacuumed, and steam mopped the bedroom floor.
-
Then I spent about 20 minutes in the other bedroom decluttering. I found a box of old paperwork from about 2006 that I don't need. I tossed some other stuff, too.
-
I actually have an open small bottle of the CVS equivalent of Flonase on my dresser, and I can't recall what the condition was that made my buy it. I recall it working very well somehow.
(I'm pretty sure it was non-prescription.)

It is nice when a medication for one issue also helps another.

I think the main things, DR Freddie, are pretty common sense. Listen, and answer the question that was actually asked.
And, if asked for a specific example of something, give one.
:)
-
And, have done some research and have one or two questions to ask the interviewer.
-
Even if it is just "What are some of things you most enjoy about working at ____ ?

Is it a great way to clean a floor? No. Is it good enough? Yes.

Oh - DR Freddie, forgot to mention that we watched the first episode of the new season of Grantchester.

When I saw that they're posting the new episodes of The Guilded Age one week at a time, I decided we will wait until they're all posted and we can watch them back-to-back.

I tried Flonase. It caused my blood sugar to skyrocket 400 points. I stopped.
Wow! Do you know if it affected your A1C during the time you were taking it?
Can’t remember back that far. The doctor who prescribed the Flonase said it was not the drug’s fault and tried putting me on insulin. I fired the doctor. Two days after stopping the Flonase, blood sugar dropped 300 points, a day later it was to its normal high, well under 200 points.
-
Do you know why that happened? Is it a known side effect?
It was the steroid. And blood sugar. They don’t mix.
-
Long day. But a very good day.
-
We did not get to see the bats. We drove down the worst road in Christendom for 10 miles. Pavement gave way to rock to dirt, all broken up by cattle crossings. Sometimes it felt like driving off the edge of the world because you couldn’t see the road as it took a dip before you. We crossed creek parts and dried up waterways that were part of the road. We lost internet connection but the map kept going. We got to a place covered with water we had no notion how deep it was. We stopped. A high pickup that had followed us also stopped, the driver said she cleaned a house in the area and told us to follow her. It was less than 1,000 yards, but it looked too deep, so we turned around. We saw no bats.
-
We went looking for pie, but the restaurant was on vacation.
-
The first wine tasting room we came to had closed.
-
We ended up at a great boutique winery. (Some of their wines were less than 20 cases.) It didn’t matter. They were good. The winemaker-owner-proprietor-chief bottle washer was charismatic, loved talking with us, even if it meant not eating his dinner. In the courtyard out back, there was karaoke tonight and all of the singers were really good. A four-year-old girl sang Let It Go. She better on the chorus than the verses, but she also did well.
-
The owner did a karaoke version of Tequila.
-
Not bats, but definitely not bad.
-
Instead of Port of Shadows, we saw Le jour se lève, another film by Marcel Garné starring Jean Gabin from one year later. It was my first time seeing French noir / Poetic Realism and it was good. We did see some clips from Port of Shadows afterwards.
-
We preceded all that by seeing clips of American and French films from 1895-1896, and differences between later French and American films were present even way back then.
-
Finished with my viewing and having a small slice of cherry pie from House of Pies - very good.
