The alarm rang at 5:45 aqnd I decided to sleep in. Annabelle cuddled up next to me, I wrapped her in my arms and we fell asleep. When I woke, Thatch hadjoined us, and we slept some more. Annabelle finally sat up and then jumped off the bed. Thatch followed her, and I took that as a sign to get up. It was 7:15, and I'd had enough sleep as well.
-
We've all had our breakfast. Annabelle has been sitting on the cart next to me. She wanted to be held for a bit, and now she's back on the cart grooming herself.
-
Vibes for BK’s brother.
Ditto!
-
DR vixmom, I am so sorry for your loss. Pam sounds like a wonderful friend, and I grieve with you.
-
DR Laura, Mimosa is adorable! What a pretty little baby. When I adopted Stellla, I changed her name, which was Pinot Noir, as soon as I got her home.

I have no plans today. A couple of nights ago, I started watching on Amazon the first season of The Nanny, which I loved 30 years ago in its iitial run. I find I still love the cast, expecially Daniel Davis and Renee Taylor. The writing is like throwing pasta at the wall to see if it sticks; some it's topicality (Trump jokes, John John Kennedy) is dated and some lines land no better than the Hindenberg, but when the setups and jokes land, it's still very very very funny.
-
I must bathe today for tomorrow's appointment - if the streets are open - and then the cays and I will watch Season Two of The Nanny.

Jennifer Aniston says she hopes to do a Broadway play when the time is right and the right play comes along.
https://deadline.com/2025/06/jennifer-aniston-past-project-revisit-1236445200/
"'I definitely want to do a Broadway play,' she told the publication. 'That’s on my bucket list, but it’s finding the time and finding the right piece, the right material.'"
Jrand, asking this seriously, since she's tackled deeper roles effectively - Is she a possible Frances Farmer for the stage?
Someone on "another website" was referring to her performances in "Cake" (Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress) and "The Good Girl" as examples of her more serious work.
-
Cable fixed. Hopefully better than before.
Now to shower and start my day out in the world.

If there was a pill for procrastination, I'd probably take it. Tomorrow.
-
I heard that the more colorful your salad is, the better it is for you.
So I replaced my croutons with M&Ms.
-
:)
That's great! Makes me think pancakes (or maybe French toast) with fruit might be good for brunch.
-
I love the little bow tie.
-
Could be DR FREDDIE.
The reading was a YEAR ago today.
-
Thanks for sharing that story DR VIXMOM.
Healing vibes for you and all the other friends and the family of Pam.

My nephew’s wedding was very nice. It was at this place:

The “ringbearer” was a hawk. It flew down the aisle to the trainer, who handed the rings to the bride and groom. It was a unique ceremony.

I found a recipe from Morocco for homemade dinner rolls.

It called for fresh thyme, but mine was wilted.

I used it anyway.

Now, as I reminisce,

Vixmom, so sorry to hear about Pam, such a good friend at such a pivotal time. It’s incredible that you fell for your husband by hearing his voice first.
-
Greetings from Papeete, which I first learned about through the Crosby, Stills and Nash song “Southern Cross.”

Readjusting to life outside of the comforting (but spoiling) womb of our Bora Bora spot. I did have to remove a lizard from the kids room here last night.

DR Vixmom I loved the story of how you and your DS met, and laughed that Pam took you on your first couple of dates.

I am very, very sorry you have lost your dear friend. Your tribute to Pam is beautiful.

I just finished watching My Mother Jayne - the documentary by Mariska Hargitay on HBO.
It is most excellent and highly recommended by me.

Weird day. We have had alternating rain and sun.

I have finished the dreaded annual writing of the self-assessment performance review.
-
Also, good news: my union has a tentative contract agreement with the state. They were going to try to increase our own health insurance costs by $4,500 per year. That proposal has been beaten back.

Mimosa!!!!!
Yes, what is her new name?

Oops, Keith only had to do the low fiber pre-colonoscopy for one day. As a result I figured I was remembering my directions incorrectly and didn't need to begin my low fiber diet until tomorrow. Nope, I should have begun it today.
-
I ate a few things I shouldn't have but I am probably ok. I wouldn't be concerned at all if my doctor hadn't given me a prep I have never used.
-
At least I double checked the directions before eating any toasted almond I just made, or cooked dinner ;D

Good news and bad news from DR singdaw.

Watching something called The Art of Love. James Garner, Dick Van Dyke, Ethel Merman with pink hair, Elke Sommer, Angie Dickinson, Fifi D’Orsay. Carl Reiner wrote. Cy Coleman did the score. Norman Jewison directed.
-
Finished with proofer two's stuff.
-
Cough has mercifully abated for the time being.

Enter page six.

Got some chicken soup from Art's - the tri-salad and the soup is all they do well. Not any more. The soup was rancid-tasting - foul - I had three or four bites and into the trash it went. Got a full refund.
-
Not ready to order anything else - I have a few things here but I'm not in the mood to make anything.

I wish it were. It’s kinda frantic without being much fun.

Cy Coleman’s score is part Lalo Shifrin, part Mancini, part Avengers.

I'll bet DR Freddie could turn that into a "But Alive!" quatrain.

I, too, was hoping for a Mimosa update today.

Thanks for all the vibes! DH reports successfully arriving in D.C. without too much hassle.

Conference attendees are being told if they venture off the 2nd floor of the hotel, or leave the hotel, that they should remove their conference credentials and yarmulkes for security. What a sad state our world is in.

Watching a weird movie called The Constant Nymph. Charles Boyer, Joan Fontaine, Alexis Smith, Peter Lorre and every character actor on the lot.
-
We issued Cy's The Art of Love soundtrack on a double bill with, I think, Divorce, American Style.
-
Just been vegging on the couch.
-
Vixdad, my Mom and I went to the wake this afternoon. There were a lot of old friends and their children( who are themselves in their 40's now).
-
One of the daughters, who I often babysat when she was a tyke said, looking around the room at all of us, how wonderful it was to have friends for 50 years. She thought of us all as aunts and uncles.
-
It is pretty wonderful.
-
Vixdad and I have had tickets for some months to see a show tonight " The Sixties Show" which is a band that plays a variety of songs from ( yes you guessed it) the 1960's.
-
So after the wake we dropped off Mom, went home, changed and went out to dinner at a restaurant across the street from the theatre
-
On the way we called the Vixter and husband
-
Vixdads phone hooks to his car so his radio becomes z speaker
-
Today was their 6th wedding anniversary.
-
Anyway dinner was nice and the show fun.
-
Now we're home and vixdad has gone to bed, and I'm soon to follow.
-
Thank-you all for the lovely words. Hugs to you all

I will look for it. The logo seemed familiar, but I had never seen it before.

Gratuitous post 190!
-
Good night, all.
-
I am quite sick of being sick.
-
After the coughing jag this morning, I began to feel a bit better.
-
After the Art's soup incident, began to feel worse.
-
I believe the morning coughing jag pulled every muscle in my stomach.
-
Had taco bell for food as I knew it would get here quickly. It was okay, but then I started to feel my throat closing a little - that's been happening on and off but I thought it was done. Apparently not.
-
This is now day five of this crud.
-
Day FIVE.
-
I think I'm probably in the everything getting loose phase - constant expectorating and on the odd occasion when I need to blow my nose, it's extraordinary what comes out of the left nostril.
-
Dear reader Jeanne told me to drink water, so I've been doing that even though I don't really like water.
-
I would like to be over this already.
-
If anyone is listening.
-
Is anybody there?
-
Does anybody care?
-
Does anybody see what I see?
-
New notes are written.

Where in tarnation IS everyone.
-
George is probably out galavanting, eating finger sandwiches made with actual fingers, eating melons and exotic nutmeats.
-
Or is it erotic nutmeats.
-
That reminds me of the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Melon Balls.
-
Enter page eight.
-
Still no George. This is becoming an epidemic. How much melon can one person eat?
-
Ah well.
-
Nothing to be done about it.
-
Drinking water might just be helping.
-
Might.
-
Can't be completely certain.
-
Will try to be in bed by one again.

Hot shower first to relax.
