Well, you've read the notes, the notes don't want no stinking crud, and now it is time for you to post until the gone cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REGENERATE!
-
More no-crud vibes for BK!
-
Great photos from yesterday's festivities, George! Thanks for posting them.
-
Belated anniversary wishes to the Vixter and her DH!
-
singdaw - I think the new GRANTCHESTER season might also be called The Randy Vicar Wants to Settle Down. :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
Millstone alert - BK, you're getting close to a record-setting 156,000-post millstone.
Maybe even today or tomorrow?
-
Sending more vibes of comfort to vixmom, and Pam's friends and family.
-
We are hoping this morning for a successful trip to my podiatrist. This may be my first venture out since March, thanks to an endless Con Edison check on the wiring and pipes below West 82nd Street. I honestly do not know if the crew will be here today since their progress has been sporadic; I thought they had finished a month ago. If the Access-a-Ride driver tells me the street is closed and he cannot get to my building, then I will need to cancel the appointment.

Vibes that you can keep the appointment.

Good morning, friends.
-
And others.

We don't need no stinkin' crud.
-
I haz spoken.

~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!
More {{{HUGS}}} for DR vixmom!!!
-
Thanks, DR Freddie.
-
Nice photos, DR George!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I love Nyquil when I am sick.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I was wiped out last night from heat and humidity because we probed the sitz outdoors in the "band tent" instead of in the airconditioned building adjacent to the outdoor stage. But that space would not have comfortably held the entire cast and band, and in the end, moving outdoors right away was the right thing to do. We have now been through the initial HELL of setting up in a tight arrangement that will now just need some adjusting at tomorrow night's dress rehearsal. And it is nothing short of a blessing that there's no band tonight, so we have today and tomorrow in which to personally recover and be prepared for tomorrow evening.
-
Hoping for a positive update from DR Elmore on the present state of West 82nd Street.
-
It's hard to believe that June stops busting out TODAY. That is just wrong.
-
I don’t wanna get up.
-
But I gotta.
-
But first ….
-
Page turn!
-
Two!
-
Hello Five Guests.
-
DR JOHN G if I recall the CD correctly, the music from the movie is more fun than the movie with the music.
-
Hope DR ELMORE gets to his appt. today!
-
DR CHAS SMITH - ain't it awful - the heat?
-
We are at 76 degrees right now heading up to 87.....but then a cool down with rain tonight....and over the next few days.
-
TOD:
I drink lots of water and grape juice and take whatever generic cold capsules I can find. I used to like CONTAC but it was not non-drowsy.....so I buy the ND generic brand at WalMart or Walgreen's.
-
So far my cold has just been annoying with stuffy nose and tiredness.
-
The case for my new iPhone is out for delivery today.
-
Just watched the trailer for The Art of Love, which I had no memory of existing. One of those very ‘60s trailers that tries to meta-generate wacky hype and doesn’t do the movie any favors. But it does include a very short promo for visiting Universal Studios.
-
We enjoyed the soft black sands of our Tahitian beach yesterday. I’d like to swim in the ocean today. But we are going to take a bus into Papeete for yuks. (Hopefully not yucks). I did see a cemetery I should like to photograph.
-
From DR Singdaw:
Thanks for all the vibes! DH reports successfully arriving in D.C. without too much hassle.
Excellent.
-
From Singdaw:
Conference attendees are being told if they venture off the 2nd floor of the hotel, or leave the hotel, that they should remove their conference credentials and yarmulkes for security. What a sad state our world is in.
:(
Does your DH normally wear a yarmulke?
-
It is a joint conference of the American Conference of Cantors and the Guild of Temple Musicians.
It sounds interesting, and now I understand the concern.
-
From DR Vixmom:
One of the daughters, who I often babysat when she was a tyke said, looking around the room at all of us, how wonderful it was to have friends for 50 years. She thought of us all as aunts and uncles.
This is very moving, and I hope gave you comfort.
-
DR George,
Nice photos.
-
Bruce, DR Jeanne is correct about water. Since it is the season, watermellon also helps. If you get any, be sure to drink the juice as well.
Lovely.
Good morning. Mimosa has not been named, as far as I know.
-
The older cat is still angry, although I heard she came downstairs and observed without hissing.
-
Mimosa is a lap cat, which is nice, since Aunt Sassy works from home.
-
My blue leather phone case is nice.....but now I'm wondering where blue leather comes from.
-
Thanks for the kitty update DR LAURA
-
Well, I am back in one piece, and, despite my fears and anxiety, everything went very smoothly. It's a big relief.
-
My podiatrist, Dr Corrasdo, has retired, and today I met my new podiatrist, Dr Morales. He's young and friendly, and I liked him very much. My next appontment is Sept. 29.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Took quite a while to fall asleep due to guck.
-
Too early to tell how I am today. I am cautiously optimistic, oh, yes, I am cautiously optimistic.
-
I will drink some water and I do have some juice here so I can do that, too.
-
I think I'll stay put today. Hopefully, the important envelopes are there and I can just go tomorrow when I get up and then go banking.
-
Seems the safer bet.
-
Called Muse Margaret but got voice mail. But I did all the global changes, so that's all done.
-
Enter page three?
-
I was waiting last night for more George stories, but they never came.
-
Will the mail place tell you over the phone whether the important envelopes are there?
-
I am taking a pill because the eye watering is annoying me.
-
Good news from DR ELMORE
-
Good news from MR BK.
That’ll leave you free to celebrate my birthday on the 28th.
Progress.
Sweet. I gather the other cat is not a lap cat.
Wordle: 4/6
Back from Buffalo. My flight was delayed for about 2 hours. We arrived earlier than expected but the gate wasn't available so we sat for about 45 minutes. Oh, well. It could have been a lot worse.
-
Welcome home, KevinH.
It is bad enough when the flight is delayed, but then to have to sit at the gate for 45 minutes. Yes, it could have been worse, still this isn't great. Which airport did you land at?
-
It’s raining. Yay!
-
Pride of Barbados.
-
Crape Myrtle!
-
The pride should be in full sun. Naturally I planted it in the shade.
-
I am tired today and I don’t know why.
-
Other than I am back to my regular schedule.
-
I think the rain is stopping. At least for now.
-
Thunderstorms are still in the forecast.
-
Page turn!
Four!
-
Listening to Julianne Moore read Joan Didion’s Notes to John. Fascinating, obtuse, occasionally infuriating book. Highly recommended. But be prepared for the emotional involvement.
-
Crape Myrtle!
Beautiful photos!
-
Pride of Barbados.
Beautiful.
-
Crape Myrtle!
I bet it is spectacular in person.
-
The pride should be in full sun. Naturally I planted it in the shade.
LOL. It seems to be doing very well.
-
Keith got Wordle in three.
-
If it had been in the sun, the Pride of Barbados would have maybe six or seven flowers instead of just one.
-
The crape Myrtles everywhere are in full bloom. I haven’t seen a year this dramatic in some time. Red, pink, rose, lilac, white, purple and more are just everywhere.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Pride of Barbados post 100!
Wow!
-
Starting The Waltz King. Schmaltz with extra cheese on the side. And apparently lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein.
-
It’s bad, but in a better way than Hitchcock’s Waltzes from Vienna.
-
Luise Rainer is no Jessie Matthews.
-
Today was emotionally exhausting, but it was achurch beautiful service. Frank is a member of the choir and the entire choir attended.
-
They sat in the congregation and the room was filled with the beautiful sound of their singing
-
They only went up front to sing a specially prepared anthem.
-
Pam's final resting place is in a beautifully landscaped garden area of the cemetery
-
There was a wonderful turnout of our old friends to support Frank and mourn Pam.
-
A beautifully sad day
-
Vibes for you all
-
DR JOHN G nice photos.
-
DR VIXMOM it sounds like a wonderfully emotional day.
-
Peace, Vixmom.
-
The Last Waltz seems to get longer the more it goes on.
-
I’m still exhausted.
-
But I will rise to the occasion soon.
Thanks for the kitty update, DR Laura.
-
Starting an oddity called Better Man. A musical bio of sorts. If you see yourself as a monkey, that is.
-
My book group discussed Orbital by Samantha Harvey. Three people out of 12 liked it. The rest of us weren't thrilled with it. We did have a good discussion.
-
One member showed up with a tray of cheese & crackers, plus a bottle of wine.
-
Alas, I had to pass since I am on a low fiber diet today. Fortunately I ate before going to the meeting and wasn't hungry.
-
Colds be gone vibes for Bruce & Jrand.
-
Here’s a fun number from the movie:
-
Hugs and comfort vibes for vixmom.
-
Talked to Muse Margaret.
-
Had a Chinese chicken salad for lunch.
-
Knock wood, have not coughed all day.
-
Or sneezed and nose is not runny.
-
I am cautiously optimistic.
-
I'll do Ny-Quil tonight but if things are better tomorrow, I'll probably not do it after tonight.
-
Otherwise, just vegging on the couch, nodded off for two hours. Maybe I'll try a movie.
-
Knock wood, have not coughed all day.
Yay!
-
I'll do Ny-Quil tonight but if things are better tomorrow, I'll probably not do it after tonight.
Vibes you won't need the Ny-Quil tomorrow.
-
Took a bus from hotel to Papeete downtown. It was more fun than I thought. Nice markets and shoppes. Ate a quiche. Walked around. Caught the bus back, then I went for a couple mile walk back to a cemetery I’d seen. Was stupid to not take water or money. But found another historic cemetery on the way. Took some nice photos then made it back in the midday heat. Rehydrated and jumped in the pool.
-
Got in the ocean for a bit. Stepped on something sharp with my big toe. You hear these stories of people stepping on coral then getting infections and dying, so, hopefully it’s not one of those deals. It would be a bummer.
-
Mad dogs and Rodz's go out in the noonday sun.
-
Or so I hear.
-
Slouching toward six.
-
Slowly.
-
One more.
-
PAGE SIX!
-
By hook or by crook.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Better Man is ending. The script was predictable biomusic formula. But a lot of the music was good.
-
Time for bed.
-
Good night, all..
-
I coughed once. I am still cautiously optimistic.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Finished “Directed By…” I found the Sami situation a bit sad. Aside from the loss of Cindy. The star seemed to not appreciate the chance she was given, or someone got in her ear with bad advice.
Wordle 1,472 4/6
⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜
⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜
🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
I almost forgot! :o
-
Rodzinski, yes, I think it may have been a combination of both. I got off the Sami train at that point, and as far as I know she has not worked since. I think she likes hanging out with her bar buddies.
-
George shows up!
-
Hold your hats and hallelujah.
-
New notes are written.
-
I coughed once. I am still cautiously optimistic.
~~~Continued Recovery Vibes for BK!!~~~

Now, can I achieve a new plateau in twelve minutes?
-
Won't be easy.
-
But I'm up for the challenge.
-
Only sixteen posts to go.
-
And certainly I would like to get the HELL off this page.
-
George shows up!
I went down a rabbit hole of just watching hours (literally!) of YouTube shorts, just one right after the other. ::)
-
It's exciting.
-
The race is on.
-
On is the race.
-
Now, can I achieve a new plateau in twelve minutes?
PUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hope Rodzinski enjoyed Directed by
-
Nine more posts.
-
The tension is high.
-
On Saturday, I got the laserdisc of the IMAX documentary of Titanica, narrated by Leonard Nimoy.
-
You could hear a bin drop from the hush in the crowd.
-
All that AND a now page.
-
Very close now.
-
I hope George is standing by to capture it.
-
Eight minutes to go.
-
And -
-
Here it comes -
-
DRUM ROLL - a new plateau!
-
This isn't the actual laserdisc that I got, but it's the same item:
(https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/3oEAAOSwbHJn8EO0/s-l400.webp)
-
DRUM ROLL - a new plateau!
And here it is!
-
;D
-
Whew!
-
I have done the Ny-Quil routine.
-
That stuff is potent.
-
I'm talkin' potent.
-
The thing about Titanica is that the Leonard Nimoy-narrated release is only 67 minutes long, AND is says that it "has been edited and reformatted to fit your TV screen." :-\
-
Potentate.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
There is another (earlier?) release with different cover art, is a gatefold, has a different narrator (Cedric Smith), is 95 minutes long, AND doesn't say that it's edited or reformatted to fit my TV screen!
-
I wrote them.
-
And now, a hot shower and bed.
-
Here's the cover to the other version:
(https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/JWkAAeSwM5VoXKMJ/s-l400.webp)
-
So, I had to get both. ;D
-
I got the Nimoy version on Saturday, and the other (original?) version will arrive next Monday.
