Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cautiously optimistic, and now it is time for you to post until the optimistic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ROSEATE!
-
It wasn't until after I ordered both laserdiscs from eBay that I found that the 67-minute Nimoy release of Titanica is available on DVD, but I haven't been able to find any copies of the 95-minute Smith version on DVD at all. Too late. I like that they're both available on laserdisc...and I'm very glad that I have a working laserdisc player!

Important envelope vibes for BK!
-
Rodzinski, hoping you're OK after cutting your foot!
-
Congratulations, BK, on your record-setting new posting millstone!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a completely lousy night of sleep. Faithful Thatch stayed with me all night, but it took me forever to finally fet to sleep. I had a dream that I was beginning a recording project with Judy Kaye and Rebecca Luker. I remember nothing more about it now.
-
DR Rodzinski, I do hope your health not been threatened.
-
DR singdaw, how are things going at the convention?
-
I need to help my neighbor Ann this morning, but I plan to have an easy day. Yesterday was quite exhausting and my legs need a rest.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
CONGRATULATIONS, BK, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!
-
~~~IMPORTANT ENVELOPE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!
-
I am very glad everything worked out well for you yesterday, DR elmore3003.
-
The convention is going well so far - many connections with colleagues being reinforced. No security issues so far.
-
Rodzinski, hoping you're OK after cutting your foot!
DITTO!
Notes sequestered. Festered.
-
Thanks fellas. I’m sure it’s not a big deal for my big toe.
The number of people who confuse "to" and "too" is amazing two me.
Good to hear that!
-
Congrats to MR BK on his new historic millstone.
And Important Envelope vibes as well!
-
Glad to hear that the digit incident is not causing additional trouble for DR RODZINSKI.
Today my brother and I are attending a memorial service for our former neighbor Randy.
When we moved into this house, Randy and Jeanne had lived in the house across the street for about five years. They had two school age children.
Oldest son Brian grew up and started attending Indiana University. He worked part time as a bouncer in a club in Bloomington. One night there was an altercation and when Brian went to help the doorman, the crazy guy causing trouble shot him and he died.
It was very hard on Randy and Jeanne and they eventually divorced. Jeanne remarried and she and her new husband still live across the street. Her new husband has a son who has some problems and has spent some time in jail. At one point he was appointed a lawyer by the court.....and it was the crazy shooter who had "studied law" in jail and become an attorney. It was quite an ordeal.
So we shall see what we shall see.....
-
Wow, DR Jrand74. Peyton Place has nothing on your neighborhood!
-
Hope that BK and DR Jrand74 continue to recover apace.
-
That's so terrible, Jrand.
Had the shooter, the one who became an attorney, been given a very short sentence relative to his crime?
-
Peyton Place has nothing on your neighborhood!
My own brother and his wife had a classic play written about them. Their real story even had to be toned down from the real-life horrors that they are. Have you ever heard of a play called MACBETH?
-
Welcome, 5 Guests!
In 1985, when I was working on Cole Porter's show JUBILEE, we were trying to find recordings of the beautiful June Knight, one of the stars of the 1935 Broadway production. We knew she danced, and she sang "Just One of Those Things" and "Begin the Beguine." I wanted to hear her to set the keys for the reconstruction, but we could find nothing. Well, she did make the film Broadway Melody of 1936, I learned years later, and she had a spectacular number with Robert Taylor and Nick Long Jr., "Ive Got a Feelin' You're Foolin'" and it's really wonderful.
Good morning, all.
-
Had a dream of taking someone through my favorite bookstore. My legs began having neurological problems as we got higher and higher into the store. I kept saying I would deal with it later.
-
The bookstore part is a recurring dream.
Love this number.
-
DR FREDDIE yes many of us thought that was the case.
The shot was so close Brian lost his shoes when it hit him.....very sad.
-
Nice video DR ELMORE.....and I liked DR JOHN G's video from last night as well.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep. I guess that was enough and I know I'll doze off later.
-
In an hour or so, I'll go to the mail place and then do banking.
-
Have you confirmed the important envelopes are there?
-
Good ... afternoon, all.
-
Been very very busy this morning, and I must continue being busy.
-
I, too, have to take a run out to the bank and grab something to eat to hold me over till after rehearsal tonight.
We're meeting a little early, and as of now, we're to play inside the building this time because of the weather forecast calling for rain pretty much all evening.
-
Back from picking up two important envelopes and banking. No waiting at either bank.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Took a bus from hotel to Papeete downtown. It was more fun than I thought. Nice markets and shoppes. Ate a quiche. Walked around. Caught the bus back, then I went for a couple mile walk back to a cemetery I’d seen. Was stupid to not take water or money. But found another historic cemetery on the way. Took some nice photos then made it back in the midday heat. Rehydrated and jumped in the pool.
Water & money would have been a good idea. Otherwise, it sounds like a nice day.
-
DR Rodzinski, tell me you are up to date on your tenus booster.
-
Bruce, congrats on the new plateau!
I'm feeling better today, although the cough remains - no coughing jags - but it's there and the gunk is still in my chest a bit. I think by tomorrow I'll be fine.
It was nice to take a drive.
Thinking about food.
Oh, my goodness! How could he have been allowed to be a lawyer for someone who was related (even just by marriage) to a guy HE shot?? Isn't that a gross conflict of interest?? >:(
It’s been a day.
-
Got some interesting news. Nothing to talk about, though.
-
Back from the errands.
And may I just say...? It is one hot sticky mofo out there.
Yesterday was glorious. It was like a sunny but very-low-humidity California day.
Today?
HELL.
I am SO glad we're rehearsing inside this evening. There's even an air-conditioner!
-
And now, back to work. Got a couple of hours before I have to leave.
-
Enjoyed Directed By very much. I remember when Deceit was BK’s current project, so it took me back to my early HHW days.
-
Keith got Wordle in five.
-
DR John G, I got your email. Thanks for the news!
-
Poor Ann has been to the posrt office four times for me this week. I needed to send a copy of the galleys to Modern Cat magazine in Vancouver. I've had it wrapped and ready to go for over a week, but she and Jen were sickl all last week. I askeds Jen if she knew whether or not I needed a customs form for the book and she said she didn't think so.
So, on Friday Ann took it to the post office, and the line was so long, she decided to take it to the post officer by the school where she teaches yesterday. She got to the counter and needed a customs form (envelopes, no; packages, yes), so she breought it home and told me she would bring it to me this morning to fill out.
-
She didn't stop by this mornming, so I called her. She said she filled it out herself. Then, an hour ago, she stopped by. The customs form needed my signature. I asked, if you filled it out, why didn't you sign it? She said, when the postal clerk asked her if she were Larry Moore, she said no and they threw her out. So, I signed the form and she's gone back.
-
She and Jen leave for vacation tomorrow, and I will take care of their mail.
-
Keith got Wordle in five.
Good for Keith!
-
What a blessing good neighbors are.
-
Had pasta for food.
-
Unfortunately, several coughing jags today - I think it's all the gunk that's breaking up - how much gunk can one person have?
-
Keith got Wordle in five.
Good for Keith!
Thanks.
Just in from an hour of garden work that nearly did me in. I’m completely wet with sweat.
-
I did plant a new olive tree and started on some overdue weeding. Everything exploded while I was gone.
But the plumeria will bloom in a day or two.
I need to fertilize stuff.
DR Jane--I landed at National Airport (aka "Reagan") yesterday.
-
Congrats on your milestone, BK!
-
Thanks for the Wordle congrats yesterday, DR Jane.
-
Thank you for the "welcome home," DR JohnG.
-
Watching a forgotten John Waters called Desperate Living. It’s occasionally fun, but the shock value has worn off over the years.
-
dr elmore I blame DR JOSE.
-
dr elmore I blame DR JOSE.
I concur.
Most interesting....I talked to the daughter today.....the mom was behind me in line and seemed to be persona non grata....most distressing....
-
This plumaria is too ripe!
Oh the plumaria and the plumbago must be friends!
Thank heavens for your neighbors, DR elmore3003.
-
Will no one rid us of this infernal page?
-
No, sir. No one.
-
But posts might help.
-
Only a few left.
-
Then what have you got?
-
Page turn!
-
Five!
-
I feel that today was a little back step, wellness-wise, but at least the coughing has stopped. Hopefully, the rest of the crud will break up and finally be gone because in addition to pulling every muscle in my stomach a few days ago, today's few jags pulled every muscle on the right side of my neck.
-
Watched a new documentary called My Mom - about Jayne Mansfield, made by Mariska Hargitay. Very moving and surprising. Also doesn't overstay its welcome. More in the notes, but it's free on HBO Max.
-
Plot twist!!
-
I blame Jose, too.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Good night, all.
-
Page FIVE???
-
Barely???
-
Watched a movie, too.
-
Something called Drop.
-
The globs of goo that I'm expectorating are repulsive and endless. And if this cough continues, I will have no voice tomorrow.
-
Got the second book blurb.
-
Third coming Friday.
-
Trying to figure out one other person.
-
Well, this is ridic.
-
I am disgusting right now.
-
If I were still married, this would be cause for divorce.
-
Where all the peeps at?
-
Exactly!
-
Where have the people gone?
-
Glad you enjoyed the book, Rodzinski.
-
Won't someone rid me of this meddlesome page?
-
It's so irritatingly irritating.
-
Hello, out there.
-
And where the HELL is George?
-
Probably out again, eating cucumber sandwiches with herbal tea.
-
Not very sporting.
-
Give me a break already with this damn page - someone is playing head games here.
-
I mean, we should be on page eight already.
-
See?
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
Got the second book blurb.
Third coming Friday.
Very good news, BK!
-
I think it's time for George to get a proper spanking.
-
Oh, finally!
-
And where the HELL is George?
I has arrived!
-
When did you become a night owl, eating grapes with seeds?
-
Today, I received the second of the two laseredisc versions of the IMAX documentary, Titanica.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
When did you become a night owl, eating grapes with seeds?
I eschew grapes with seeds...I muchly prefer seedless grapes.
-
I wrote them.
-
I'll let George finish his story before changing the topic.
-
And go, man, go.
-
Here are my two laserdiscs together:
-
Here's the description on the back of the 95-minute version:
-
And here's the tracklist:
-
Here's the description of the 65-minute version (which I just realized today is a Miramax release...the original version was not):
-
And here's the tracklist for that one:
-
And (finally) here's the modification notice of the movie format on the 67-minute version:
-
That was my evening tonight.
-
I haven't watched either version yet, but eventually, I will.
-
Since laserdiscs aren't copy-protected (at least, I've never come across one that was), I can make DVD copies of them.
-
They won't, of course, be hi-def, but they'll be on a format that others can play...unless they no longer have a DVD or Blue-ray player...but that's on them ;)
-
And now...
-
...since we're so close...
-
...it's time to roll over to...
-
RUPERT'S PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
Whew!
