Well, you've read the notes, then notes were a bit better, and now it is time for you to post until the bit better cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LAMBENT!
-
To continue from last night:
Here's looking the other way. My friend Shelly is to the right of the pole and my sister is the shorter person to the left of the pole:
-
Here's a woman representing the fate of Lady Liberty:
-
Here I am protesting:
-
Here I am with my sister...and yes, my hat says what it looks like:
-
And finally:
-
It was a fun couple of hours. A lot of cars honked in support as they drove by. I only noticed two or three where people flipped us off or gave us a thumbs down.
-
We were at a marked crosswalk (that's what Shelly is leaning against), and this one older woman was going back and forth across the street over and over again so that cars HAD to stop and see what we were doing! ;D
-
A good time was had by most!
-
Notes purified. Sanctified.
-
Good work, G and friends and fam!
-
Going to bed now.
-
Seriously thinking I should cancel she of the Evil Eye - we'll see how I feel when I get up.
-
I don't need or want any relapses.
-
No-relapse vibes for BK!
-
Great hearing about your day yesterday and seeing the photos, George!

Good morning, friends.

And others.
-
Good morning, all!

Good work, G and friends and fam!
Thanks, Rodzinski!

Great hearing about your day yesterday and seeing the photos, George!
Thanks, Freddie!

I didn't sleep as well as I did the night before. I had a peculiar dream in which our former DR Joey from DR Jrand74's neck of the woods was a featured player. I haven't thought about him in years, but in my dream, he came to visit. I was living with my parents in what looked like summer camp housing. I had lesbian neighbors - not Ann and Jen - who were being terrorized by some psycho in another of these strange houses. I remember two parts of the dream: the ladies and I confronted the jerk and warned him to cease and desist and at one point Joey went swimming and I followed him calling him to nopt go out too far where the water was polluted.

DITTO!
Thanks, Singdaw!
-
DR George, I loved the photo of you and your sister. The others were fun, but that was special.
-
I don't know how many of today's plans will be accomplished, but heres my list:
1. take the recyclables and garbage to the basement; pick up mail
2. make pasta sauce
3. secure towel rack in bathroom
-
Good morning, all.
-
Page turn!
-
Two!
-
Thank you, George. Peaceful protests are the way to go.
-
As I listen to sacred music this morning, this is what I know:
-
My two favorite posts on X this morning!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I like DR Elmore's sacred music lesson.
-
Nice photos from DR GOERGE
-
Yes DR FREDDIE Success was chanted to the same rhythm as Victory.
-
So sad DR JOHN G.
Has the fat bastard said anything about the disaster? Not that I really want to hear his bull - but I'm sure every one of our other presidents would already be planning a trip to Texas.
-
We have a meeting of the bored today at 2 p.m.
-
Next Sunday's performance will be a signed one. The woman who did such a beautiful job of it last time was sitting in the audience with a script, discreetly planning her stuff, and for this show she'll be using an assistant. It makes for a thrilling event and I look forward to it.

Trying to roll this YouTube out again because it seems timely somehow.
With the new law making the disparity for who gets health care even more clear, as between the haves and the have-nots: (and I guess with the new Superman movie opening this week :) )

What dance songs and dances were your favorites in your teen years?
A recreation of a favorite of mine. My guess is that the guy wearing glasses in the front row choreographed this.

DR ELMORE I had forgotten about former DR JOEY......

Watching the How Now, Dow Jones number, YouTube suggested several more videos:

For the 1970s, are "Turn the Beat Around" and "Heaven Knows" considered dance songs?
Or do you mean stuff more like "The Hustle" or "Le Freak"?

Everything counts.....like Rate A Record on American Bandstand.....it has a good beeat and I can dance to it.
This song is originally from the 1970s (which were my teens), but I think Steve and Eydie's cover version (which they released under the pseudonyms "Parker and Penny" to fool the airplay people) may have been later.
It was danced to at Jewish events in the day.
Steve and Eydie - "Hallelujah" [not the Leonard Cohen song]

"Hallelujah" was Steve and Eydie's final single to chart.
-
DR ELMORE I had forgotten about former DR JOEY......
Yeah I can almost remember him. Can’t get a picture in my head though.
-
How cute are those Watusi dancers? Could watch that all day.
-
If the kid with the glasses choreographed it, does that mean that was not actually the Watusi?
-
There was a fun Personal Jesus line dance when I was still a teen. Can’t find it, but this is pretty cool.

I could also watch people dance the Electric Slide at wedding receptions all day.

He did early on and has spoken with Abbott.

I had started a twee British comedy last night called Finding Your Feet, but I wasn’t in the mood for it today. So I started a Jason Statham action flick called A Working Man. Lots of not twee violence in store.

The original recording of The Wah Watusi by the KCTU dancers has recently been discovered! This is the uncut version to give you a little more perspective into these recording sessions from the summer of 2014.

I don't know much of the history from those Tony nomination years.
Does anyone know:
Were the nominators going out of their way to not nominate Sondheim's score for FORUM?
(It was a much smaller nominating committee back in those days than the large groups of nominators in recent years.)

I don’t have good focus tonight. Started a movie called Scarecrow with Gene Hackman and Al Pacino, but I had no patience for its charms. Now watching a Tracy-Hepburn melodrama called Keeper of the Flame, which I haven’t seen before. It’s only okay.
-
Jeez, where have I been all day?
-
I got eight hours of sleep.
-
Got up, and had some e-mails that needed responses, and the usual back and forths to make sure everything was right. That took up a lot of time.
-
Then I ordered food - fettuccine with pink sauce and a meat ball - very good.
-
Then there was more back and forth and corrections, and then I got everything to the book designer and he's already downloaded all the files.
-
Should have a galley in five or six days, I should think.
-
And I finished the final five episodes of Shooter. I was along for the ride until episode six - which began with our hero looking like he was out of luck. Then the jump the shark moment (for me, at least) with the awful "twenty hours earlier" baloney. I guess the writer of that episode couldn't resist. It's the only episode that did that.
-
The final four were okay with several jump the shark moments along the way.
-
It's more faithful to the movie than the book, and that's a shame.
-
The lead's backstory in the movie and series is completely different - they're too scared of doing what the book did.
-
The basic plot structure is similar, but the lead in the book is older than the lead in the movie and that works better.
-
Keeper of the Flame has turned chillingly prescient. Hepburn’s husband in the movie is Trump-like character. Ugly, prophetic. A fascist draping himself in the red, white and blue.
-
In the book, he's a loner with a dog. In the series he has a wife and young daughter - so, all the cliches are in place.
-
In the book, he's a Vietnam vet. The movie takes place now so it's the 2000s wars.
-
Several reviews pointed out similarities to 24 and other movies and shows - well, sorry critics, the book was published in 1993 before any of the ones they reference.
-
The book has several twists that you never see coming - the series you see everything coming.
-
There are a couple of really bad casting mistakes, but otherwise the actors are fine.
-
There's a season two and three - based on the next two books in the series.
-
I may or may not watch those.
-
And what no one ever says is how Jack Reacher would not exist if it wasn't for the success of the Bob Lee Swagger books.
-
That was really about it.
-
Finally had to cool down the house.
-
And I've decided to chance she of the Evil Eye - I think I'll be okay if I go to Art's and not sit near anyone. As I said, fairly empty in the early morning.
-
Then I'll go get more Ricola and a few other things I now need.
-
It was probably inspired by Charles Lindbergh.
-
I'm hoping she'll finish by eleven-thirty and then I don't really need to go anywhere this week, so I should be fine being out for three hours.
-
Guess I'll shave now. Want to be in bed right after the notes are posted.
-
No telephonic calls, so I've been resting the voice all day and night. Still hoarse, but not quite as bad.
-
Not much coughing, either.
-
Listening to a fun book called So Far Gone. It's highly topical.
-
Some of it is exceptionally political.
-
Conservatives will hate it.
-
Let's ditch this page.

Good night, all.
