Well, you're read the notes, the notes then said three days earlier, and now it is time for you to post until the three days earlier cows come home.

Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I don't think BK's web host has solved the bots/hackers problem quite yet.
-
Judging by the lag.
-
But maybe it's just me.
-
If often is.
-
I think I might need more rest.
-
I went a bit crazy searching for the novel DR John G. mentioned last night.
-
Then I finally figured out I was typing "The Disco Queens of Fire Ireland."
-
Which isn't a thing.
-
But that title isn't quite right, either.
-
Turns out, it's "The Disco Witches of Fire Island."
-
So now I've found it.
-
Yesterday was beautiful; fluffy clouds and crystal blue sky.
-
But today is starting out gray.
-
Gray as the day is long.
-
But the days are inexorably getting shorter.
-
Smoke on your pipe and put that in!
-
For some of the software upgrades at work, we have to install several "authenticators" (random security code generators) on our personal cell phones.
-
And to do that, we have to set up a lockscreen, or they won't install.
-
I'm a security nightmare; I've never had a pin or a shape to unlock my phone.
-
So I decided to set up a shape/pattern to unlock it.
-
But it's a little scary; it says if I forget the pattern, I'll have to reset my phone back to factory settings and start from scratch.
-
That would not be a happy day.
-
More vibes for BK to have a modern major miracle or three!

But it's a little scary; it says if I forget the pattern, I'll have to reset my phone back to factory settings and start from scratch.
It would scare me, too! Vibes all works out.
-
PAGE TWO!!
But page two before 7 a.m. (Eastern) - that's NOT scary!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did not sleep well, and to add proverbial insult to that injury, I had an Amazon Fresh delivery between 6:00-8:00, so I was up at 5:15. I thinkj Amazon's delivery, between 6:30 and 6:45, was their earliest ever. Usually, it's between 7:00 and 7:30.
-
So, along with kitty cleanup this morning, I've got Amazon cleanup.
-
Yum!!

DR John G, did you get my email yesterday?
-
DR Michael G, there are many recordings of My Fair Lady in as many languages, but all, except for John Yap's, are incomplete. His recording on two CD'shas all of the musical numbers and Higgins' cut song "Come to the Ball." The cast is quite good, and the excellent conductor is my friend John Owen Edwards, conductor of the late D'Oyly Carte Oopera Company.
-
This new recording, coming out in September, conducted by my friend John Wilson. goes even further. including all the scene change music, the Exit Music, and appendix of material cut before Broadway:
Say a Prayer for mer tonight
Come to the Ball
Original version of "On the Street Where You Live"
Ballet: Dressing Eliza
And my friend Scarlett is playing Eliza!
-
Very cool, DR elmore3003!
-
DR elmore3003, I keep forgetting to ask you if you have ever crossed paths with Alex Bonoff. He is currently the Cantorial soloist at the temple where my DH works, but his background is in orchestration in NYC.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Can't wait for the John Wilson My Fair Lady. I'm embarrassed to say, however, that I never even got John Yap's, so - what the HELL is wrong with me? So much to ketchup on.
-
At some point in my junior high or high school years I thought I was so damned cool when I discovered the Spanish language MFL on LP in a Miami Beach (Lincoln Road Mall) record store and brought it home. I still have it, I probably played it all of twice, don't remember. Mine's in mono, though, and I never discovered until many years later that it was also issued in stereo. So much for my cool factor.
-
Yum!!
Wow!

-
I must add a thought to what DR John G. said last night about this particular book of BK's. My lips are sealed, of course -- but I will say it's kind of the perfect book appearing at kind of the perfect time.
-
DR John G, did you get my email yesterday?
Many more references lately, right here in public on HHW. to emails and PMs that no one else will see or are meant to see - adds a real touch of intrigue to reading here.
-
:)
-
Speaking of a touch of intrigue...
Our current phone software system give you a "beep" in your headset to know a new call has been connected to you.
In the new system, you get what Amazon Connect calls a "whisper alert." One of my teammates wonders if she should ask if they have any Gray Poupon.
-
Can we get to page three?
-
Relatively early in the morning?
-
I'll just bet we can.
-
With just a bit of stuff
-
And nonsense.
-
I wonder if the Rodz clan are over their jet lag yet.
-
It's possible.

Well done page turn!
-
Page 3 before 9 a.m. (Eastern) is nothing to sneeze at!
-
Or cough at, for that matter!
-
It would be something to write home about, if I weren't already at home.

Possible Ask Bk question -
I see many Youtube content creators (I gather we're going by the more sophisticated name "digital creators" these years) are going back in their histories and finding one-minute or less segments that can stand alone as "Shorts."
What I can't tell, and googling isn't helpful in this question, is whether these "Shorts" are ends in themselves to get views, or are a means to an end of getting the full videos watched, or getting interest in your channel generally.
BK, I've seen very effective "Shorts" from your channels. What's your take on what the purpose of Shorts are for the digital creator, or content creator?
-
Also, do you prefer being called a digital creator or content creator, or some other term?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Elmore, let’s give it two more days. Let me know tomorrow if you haven’t received it.
-
Singdaw, thank you for correcting me on the Disco Witches. There is a character with an Irish accent, so you weren’t entirely island confused.
-
Good morning.
-
I have to report to Vacation Bible School today. I'm so glad the younger women have taken it over and I don't have to do it any more.
-
I am going to lead the children in making cookie dough, which we will form into balls and freeze. So we'll have an emergency stash of cookies if needed.
-
I suppose I should look up some recipes, huh? And maybe go to the store?
-
Kidding. I went to Winco a few days ago and dipped LOTS of stuff from the big bins. I overbought, I'm sure. But whatever is left we can use for coffee hour stuff.
-
This is as much stress as I want in my life. I like it this way.
-
Rainy day....and that's fine with me.
-
DR elmore3003, I keep forgetting to ask you if you have ever crossed paths with Alex Bonoff. He is currently the Cantorial soloist at the temple where my DH works, but his background is in orchestration in NYC.
No, I'm sorry. I've never heard his name mentioned. He has no credits on IBDB, but there is this gentleman on IMDB:

An emergency stash of cookies is a lovely thing.

Still working and reworking the last section of the book, which has to do with wine clubs. It wasn't well structured. It's much better know, but I hope I've answered all my editor's questions now.
-
And I need to get ready to go to dance practice.
-
But we're almost off this page, so I'll blather some more.

Blather, blather, blather.

Glad I got that out of my system.

More vibes, xylophones and prayers for BK.

Didn’t get to yesterday’s TOD because Mrs R was having a health scare of her own. Soreness in her jaw and arm, we drove down to an urgent care in Bellingham. They gave her an ekg which was fine, but upon talking to her more and learning she’d been traveling recently, that doc sent her to the ER across the street for tests. So the kids and I had to find things to do. First we closed down the Michael’s crafts, then the Fred Meyer, then Wal-Mart was going to close at 11, but luckily it was a slow night at the ER and all tests were good and we picked her up and made it home before midnight.
-
The odd thing it was a mirror of my TOD answer which is that in 2020, I unknowingly had developed such acute acid reflux, my body was interpreting that as a heart issue, I was getting lightheaded and unable to sleep. Ended up in an ambulance in to a Delaware hospital where they basically couldn’t find anything wrong. To this day I don’t know how much was in my head, but the chest issues did subside with a course of omezeperale.
-
Docs thought Mrs R’s symptoms could be heartburn related as well.
-
Health vibes to Mrs R. Did they offer treatment for the soreness in her jaw and arm?
-
Thanks Fred, and thanks for sharing yesterday. No, just OTC pain relief.
-
DR Laura, vibes your doctor's office and your insurance company come to an agreement. We have received letters like that and fortunately agreements were made.
-
From George:
I'm looking at some on Amazon so that I don't have to change my plan.
Why would you have to change your plan? You might find a better deal through your phone carrier.
-
I'm not up, I'm not up - well, just for now - gonna try for another hour or so.
-
Freddie wants to know about my shorts :)
-
I am going to lead the children in making cookie dough, which we will form into balls and freeze. So we'll have an emergency stash of cookies if needed.
Have fun.

I have to report to Vacation Bible School today. I'm so glad the younger women have taken it over and I don't have to do it any more.
I am happy for you.
-
I only know that the shorts we put out have gotten almost no views. I thought we'd go viral. Then again, I don't know what I'm doing so maybe I didn't do something you're supposed to to get more views. I don't like content creator or digital creator - content Jew or digital Jew is okay by me.

Back from: the auto parts store for replacement rear hatch struts, Costco for cat litter and water softener salts, and Shop Rite for Coke products* and coffee K-cups.
Note: Gas had jumped up to $2.99 and then $3.01 a week or so ago, and it's back to $2.97 today. I won't need any myself for a few more days, but I wanted to keep my loyal readership informed.
*The rotating sales of the Coca-Cola family of products and the Green Mountain family of coffee products are in my favor this week, so time to stock up. The Coke stuff is 4 six-packs of the 16.9-oz bottles for $10, which is as good as those get. That's 42 cents per Coke (not including bottle deposit etc.). I neglected to check the 12-packs of cans because I was just out for bottles today, but I'll do so when I'm back there. I know those used to be absolutely dirt cheap.

Back from the mail place and picking up a package from Heritage Auctions. About eight years ago I consigned a few items. A few weeks ago I got an email from a nice lady there, saying they'd been going through stuff that's been sitting there for a long time, two items of which were from me that somehow never got listed and I forgot about them. Today's package was a book, a very rare first edition in very nice jacket of Badge of Evil, which was the source material for Touch of Evil. It's impossible to find this book. There is one horrible copy on ABE for 1500 bucks. Today, I think this would go for four or five K - not to a dealer, but to a collector, so I'm thinking about trying another auction house.
-
That said, I may offer it to a dealer just to see what the offer might be.

Am at Costco now. Gas was $2.38 a gallon.
-
The other item is a one-sheet poster for Von Sternberg's Morocco. Well, not exactly - if I HAD that one-sheet it would go for over 100K. I commissioned Igor Edelman to paint it - he was the premiere poster restorer, and he duplicated the one-sheet brilliantly. That should be here in another couple of weeks - it's in a frame so it's more packaging to deal with.

On Facebook, I keep seeing posts of Cole’s in LA closing after more than 100 years. Do you know it, BK? Or like it?
I love the neon sign in the photos.

Time to move on.

When I got home I had an e-mail that was very exciting to get - potential VERY good news for the end of the year, should everything go according to Hoyle and we really need Hoyle to be right.
-
This potential good news has been in potential mode for about a year now. A year ago it took a major step forward and today it took another major step forward. One more major step will lead to the potential becoming a reality.
-
I think we're about to have the ubiquitous computer freeze. Oh joy. I'll try to order some food before that happens.
-
More good news. Cedars just called and I scheduled an appointment for October 30 but I'm also on an urgent wait list. Don't know what that woman the other day was all about, but glad I'm scheduled and have a chance to get in there earlier.

This is great, especially that they called you. October isn't too bad and there is always a good chance of something opening on the waitlist. I just happen to be talking to someone today who mentioned his great experiences with his Cedars plan. He gave me some information that might be helpful to you which I will send in an email.

Good afternoon.

We had some math accidents during the cookie dough construction. That led to doubling or tripling some of the recipes.
-
So there's a stupid amount of cookie dough balls in the freezer.
-
Which isn't really a bad thing.
-
We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary of being in our current building in a couple of months. I remember posting photos of the construction on this site.
-
So we wanted to have cookies ready to bake that day. I'd say we probably have enough.
-
Mostly the kids just wanted to run up and down the hallways screaming. Not my kids. Not my problem.
-
So a couple of the older girls, young teens, make the dough.

For some of the software upgrades at work, we have to install several "authenticators" (random security code generators) on our personal cell phones.
I know a couple of people who absolutely will not put any work-related app(s) on their personal phones. If their work requires the app(s), then their work can supply and pay for the phone...not negotiable. If I remember correctly, they got phones paid for by their work, but they absolutely cannot do anything personal on them, which is also the point. So, no problem. :)
-
But it's a little scary; it says if I forget the pattern, I'll have to reset my phone back to factory settings and start from scratch.
I would absolutely NOT want to do that! :o Fortunately, I already have a pattern lock on my phone.

I'm looking at some on Amazon so that I don't have to change my plan.
Why would you have to change your plan? You might find a better deal through your phone carrier.
Not usually. The deals that I see from Verizon can save money on the (usually very expensive) phone itself, but they have always required an upgrade to my plan, which would cost more than I'm paying now. :-\
-
Yes, vibes for Missus Rodz! What a scary little adventure. Hope all is well, now and later.

Am at Costco now. Gas was $2.38 a gallon.
I just filled up on Sunday at Fred Meyer (it was after Costco gas had closed), and with my 15¢ rewards card discount, I paid $4.04⁹ per gallon (instead of the regular price of $4.19⁹)!
-
And just kitty-corner across the street at the Chevron station, their regular unleaded was $4.55⁹! :o Why someone would go there and pay 36¢/gallon more is beyond me!
-
The other item is a one-sheet poster for Von Sternberg's Morocco.
That's really cool, BK!
-
When I got home I had an e-mail that was very exciting to get - potential VERY good news for the end of the year, should everything go according to Hoyle and we really need Hoyle to be right.
This potential good news has been in potential mode for about a year now. A year ago it took a major step forward and today it took another major step forward. One more major step will lead to the potential becoming a reality.
Wow! Can't wait to find out about it!

We had some math accidents during the cookie dough construction. That led to doubling or tripling some of the recipes.
Oh, my! :o

Good for Keith!

Thanks.

I haven’t the slightest idea what a pattern lock is. Perhaps it’s something I know by another name.
I have no clue. It just sounds bad ;D
When you log into your phone (or other things like secured folders), nine dots in a 3x3 grid will show up and you have to draw the pattern that you created to make it unlock. I guess that that can be a more secure way of locking your phone than just a random set of numbers.

Yes, it was regular. I drove by the local Fred Meyer today, but I didn't notice today's prices.

As opposed to a breakfast of Campions (a "Follies" reverence)
;D

Gee, BK, if you could sell that book, that might be your new computer!
-
Math accidents? Or the "baking accidents" we hear tell about in Into the Woods?

~~~SUPER-STRENGTH HEALTH VIBES~~~ for Mrs. Rodz!!!
I'm going to start a TWO Dollar Store for folks who appreciate the finer things in life.
-
A burrito is just a rolled-up taco.
-
A tostada is just an unrolled taco.
-
Nachos are just broken tacos.
-
See? It's all just tacos.
-
On Taco Tuesday.
-
Oh, wait. Today is Wednesday.
-
Really, shouldn't dogs just be able to pursue whatever career they want?
-
Blather, blather, blather.
-
One more.
-
Now we're cooking with gas.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Tonight was the annual volunteer appreciation party at the Tobin, the theater I usher for.
-
The food was a mixed bag for me because it was partially like Thanksgiving in July: turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, rolls, carbs, carbs, carbs.
I had a thin slice of turkey and a dollop of cranberry sauce. Neither was all that appealing.
-
The roast beef was marginally better. The broccoli rabe was in a lousy sauce. The pickled jalapeno was wonderful.
-
So was the salad table with crudites. Fresh, delicious.
-
Sadly the desserts were mostly mediocre. Cake balls, mini cheesecakes, banana bread pudding, mini pineapple upside down cakes. I had a cake ball (too much frosting) and a tiny fruit tart that was good, so were the fresh berries.
-
The theme was Casino Royale with gambling. Boring.
-
It was fun talking with people. And I eventually danced, which was fun.
-
I won a prize from the raffle table. I took a pair of socks commemorating the musical Ain’t Too Proud.
-
So, aside from the food and the theme, I enjoyed myself. Putting on a tux in 90-degree weather isn’t fun.
-
A lot of people did not dress up. I think because of the heat.
That's great, John! Ours was just last month. :)
Darn. That's too bad. :P
-
I have Flonased. It does open up the sinuses quickly.
-
And that's a good thing.
-
I finished season two of Shooter and may as well stick it out till the bitter end, even though many sharks have been jumped.
-
New notes are written.
-
They are ready to post, then I'll watch one more episode of Shooter, then go to bed.
-
Very nice posting day.
-
Time for some red licorice.
-
Just a few pieces.
-
I just get to a Rite Aid and get more chocolate licorice.
-
Hmmm - I wonder if Amazon carries it.
-
Let's check.
-
They do! Ordered. The vaporizer I ordered arrived, didn't work, and is getting returned, probably Friday. Instead, I got the small personal one where you stick your face on what looks like an oxygen mask.
-
Hopefully, that one will work. It'll be here Friday.
-
Where have all the Georges gone?
-
I know not.
-
Enter page nine!
-
I had three red vines.
-
I like Twizzlers better.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
