It came out in 1955 and was mistakenly put on the ballot for Best Story due to the other High Society coming out. The guys who wrote the Bowery Boys movie withdrew their nomination, though it would have been more fun if they had not.

I found this interesting while looking up Hall and Oates songs
- on the wiki for "Maneater" but it's also about "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" -
"John Oates has explained that while it is natural to assume the lyrics are about a woman, the song actually was originally written 'about NYC in the '80s. It's about greed, avarice, and spoiled riches. But we have it in the setting of a girl because it's more relatable. It's something that people can understand. That's what we do all of the time', after describing how they took a similar approach with the earlier song 'I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)'."
Well, I feel like I've taken a step backward today, health wise. Voice is a bit weaker than yesterday and there's that sore thing in the throat unless it's neck related.
Then it's just the final look-see at the galley and then it all goes to the publisher.

The site is logging me out repeatedly today.
Is that happening to anyone else?

So far I think I'm liking each week's film better than the next, but this week and last week's were mighty close.

We've been having trouble with our innerwebs lately. We rush-ordered a new modem or whatever. That didn't help. Turns out the cable company is digging up stuff around here and messing everything up. We were down all afternoon and evening yesterday.
I'm sure you all wanted to know that.

We did stories about thus place because they had to shut their crematory down, and I though the same thing!
Kitten Update:
Lots of pouncing and chasing and playing. No cuddling yet.
I'm quite proud of myself. I just assembled a tall square lamp table, with a drawer, all by myself. And I'm not that handy.
It will sit in the hallway outside the apartment door in a little nook, to put packages on, etc.
Basketball boy continues apace, 8 or more times a day. Last night he was bouncing outside our windows at 10:00pm. That's a bit much.
I did have to partially undo one step, but then all was right.

Jane, have you ever watched the steamy Spanish soap opera series ELITE on Netflix (not to be confused with ETOILE)?

With Aunt Sassy, or with the other cat? Didn't the new kitten purr like crazy at the adoption fair?
Having grown up in Buffalo, I had certainly heard of Amigone, but I don't think anyone I knew mentioned the "appropriateness" of the name. It occurred to me years later.

George, thanks for the Montego Glover link. I really like her. I like her singing, but,IMO, she needs to live in the role a little longer. The depth of all that hurt and anger isn’t quite there yet.
