Well, you've read the notes, the notes were good news, and now it is time for you to post until the good news cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERITORIOUS!
-
Notes registered. Enrolled.

Wordle 1,490 5/6
⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜
⬜🟨🟨🟨⬜
🟨⬜🟨🟩🟨
🟨🟩🟨🟩⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
-
I don't have to, but I'll confess that I didn't know what today's Wordle word was or meant. :-\
-
Well, I just looked it up and now I know. :)
-
I want to stay with the happy people.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Personally, nothing of note happened overnight.
-
But if anything noteworthy does happen
-
Y'all will be the first to know.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well until 1:15 or so. After that, the night was hit or miss. The alarm rang at 5:15, but I decided to cuddle with Annabelle, fell back to sleep, and got up around 5:45.
-
Last night I watched episodes 2 and 3 of Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich. I'll finish it tonight.
-
Good morning.
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.
What did I do to you that you should give me that?
-
Elmore, I think you recommended the novel Aftertaste to me. I’m almost halfway through and am enjoying it very much.
-
Well, indeed, last night was the absolute worst in terms of heat and humidity. The show was fine, we got through it. Then in the latter stages of Act 2, suddenly a strong wind picked up - not too cool, but at least not hot - to the point that I wondered if a small cell with rain was approaching. Thankfully, it did not, it was just the heat wave starting to break.
-
And blessedly, it did indeed break. It's cool this morning, the windows are wide open, and we're airing out as best we can before the heat and humidity come back...which they are definitely going to do.
-
Got some stuff to do. Back in a bit.

That was great fun! Thanks for posting it, Rodzinski!

I want to stay with the happy people.
My version of where that lyric would go is, then I get to work and there are no happy people around.
:)

TOD
Nothing to see here, just move along now.
But hey, in two days I'll be back to normal!
(What IS normal, anyway? I'll have to let you know when I find out.)
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.
I don't know that I'd try the gelatin part if it were on a buffet table.

How great that it didn't start raining.
-
BK, it's great that yesterday's rehearsal went so well!

TOD:
Miss Evers’ Boys
Marcello Mio
Maybe some Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman
-
I enjoyed reading about the rehearsal in the notes.
-
Continued show vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I have heard NOTHING about last night's performance.
I am a bit worried....we shall see what happens as the morning rolls along.
-
I’m glad you’re feeling better, BK. More vibes for improvement.
-
Jrand, are you feeling better these days that, if not for the problem of driving at night, you could as of now direct again?
I take it you probably feel your theater is just a wrong venue (or wrong move) for your Frances play.
-
My theeder could not produce the play - it is not particularly "family friendly."
Yes DR FREDDIE I am feeing better. But the not driving at night is a career killer.....but that's okay. I had a long run.
-
Well, reports are that even with musicals being extremely risky investments on Broadway, plays are still doing quite well, especially star vehicles.
-
I don't have to, but I'll confess that I didn't know what today's Wordle word was or meant. :-\
I will be sure to ask Keith what the word is today.
-
Well, I just looked it up and now I know. :)
;D
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.
It is too early in the morning to look at that disgusting dish :P
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.
What did I do to you that you should give me that?
Exactly ;D
-
I have heard NOTHING about last night's performance.
I am a bit worried....we shall see what happens as the morning rolls along.
Fingers crossed the news is good.
-
Last night's movie The Soft Skin was good. I don't think I'd seen the three stars before - Jean Desailly, Françoise Dorléac, and Nelly Benedetti - and they were all excellent. Georges Delerue came through again with an effective score.
-
The movie has a scene with a cat, and afterwards we saw the scene from Day for Night which is inspired by the filming of that scene. I'm sure it's also funny in the context of the film, but it was hilarious having just watched the original scene.
-
I give you: spaghettios in gelatin with Vienna sausage.

Umm...no. :P

And blessedly, it did indeed break. It's cool this morning, the windows are wide open, and we're airing out as best we can before the heat and humidity come back...which they are definitely going to do.
Very good news, ChasSmith!

Ahh. You must have found my mother-in-law's cookbook.

DR John G, yes, I suggested the book to you after seeing an interview woith the author. I thought it seemed like something you would like.

I got 25 measures written today. It's nice to be working again.

Oh, no. :(
-
Good news DR ELMORE.
-
There was indeed another standing ovation last night.
But the audience was a bit quieter.
This should be our largest audience tonight so we shall see what we shall see.

CD: Maybe Happy Ending OBC. I haven't started to listen yet.
-
I shall be on my way in a bit to performance number 6.
The AD told me that the scene change music was well received.

Very sad about Alan Bergman. Ballroom is one of my all-time favorite scores.

I know, it’s hard to believe I like a score about ballroom dancing.

I am on my way. I was waiting for the weather report but the entire first 12 minutes of the local news was gobbled up by pressing WNBA news.

He got Wordle in three and is very pleased about that today.

Had my annual performance review this morning. All is well.

;D
-
And, in other dog-related news...
-
Otherwise, I don't have a lot to tell ya.

It was relatively pleasant here today, so we didn't need to fire up the A/C.

I doubt I could do it today, however, there was a time when I was very fast at getting pills down our pets.
-
I am rather sure I can no longer get into the position required to shove pills down cats.
-
I sure was fast-lol
-
Curtain speech went well and we were SOLD OUT which is remarkable for a straight play/comedy.
I look forward to the repor later this evening.
Thanks for all the vibes.
-
Tomorrow night we are supposed to have severe weather with rain and hail wind gusts up to 50 MPH....I am sure that will affect our show.....
Time will tell.

Good news, DR Jrand74!
-
Hope there is similar good news later from DR ChasSmith.
-
Very tired.
-
Just watching stupid YouTube stuff. Will try for a movie.
-
Caesar salad was good, but I remember the Cheesecake Factory days when the portions were DOUBLE what they are now for Caesar Salad. This was half the size for the full price. I'll need something else to eat.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Capped teeth and Caesar salad.
-
Ordered two small crab cakes from Marmalade. Hoping they're tasty.
-
Tasty is the thing.
-
Hope their tartar sauce is good, but if it isn't, I still have some Uncle Andre's left and that's excellent.
-
And now to try and find a motion picture of some sort.
-
Enter page five.

As you know, I like to follow along with auctions, books mainly. This one from yesterday didn't do all that well - only a couple of items over 1K. And there was some decent stuff and some stuff didn't sell at all. But even when someone thinks they're getting a deal, say they win something for 300 bucks and it's a $600 to $700 item. Good deal, right? Not when the tally is totaled, I'm afraid - that 300-dollar book has thirty percent tacked on as an auction fee, which I think is completely ridiculous - used to be twenty percent not even ten years ago. So, you're 300-dollar book is now over $400. Then add tax and their shipping fee? Now you're at $500. Not such a good deal, is it? Even when I've jokingly bid on something where the starting bid was ten bucks for a group of books, it's not ten bucks it's thirteen bucks plus tax and shipping - now it's closer to twenty-five bucks.
-
But can you imagine, as in that Sondheim auction, if you won something wonderful for 7,500, which many people did. When the thirty percent is added on AND tax AND shipping? You're over ten grand.
-
That sucks.
-
The auction houses do nothing but win - thirty percent from the buyer and 10 to 15 percent from the seller.
-
https://urbancowgirllife.com/texas-pie/
Would anyone eat this? Must be canned pie filling.
-
I’m suggesting a book on Texas pies to my publisher.
-
And then just imagine how those movie poster auctions at Heritage go - with hundreds bidding and posters going for twenty to one hundred grand. You win a rare poster for one hundred grand and it's automatically one hundred and thirty grand. Tax on that and shipping - a hundred and forty grand.
-
It's really crazy.
-
I've lucked out the few times I've auctioned rare books and art - because the auction houses knew how good the stuff was, they took no percentage from me.
-
I'd have a book on Texas pies. How about a book on fried chicken all over the US? I'd buy that book in a heartbeat.

The new auction math - 500 is the new 300!

I shall be on my way in a bit to performance number 6.
The AD told me that the scene change music was well received.
That's great about the scene change music.
-
For Into the Woods, we had tracks, so it was all built in. However, we had no pre-show or intermission music. That was kind of weird. :-\
-
I'd have a book on Texas pies. How about a book on fried chicken all over the US? I'd buy that book in a heartbeat.
Don't forget Skip's fried chicken in that book!
To Rodzinski, Skip loved your testimonial for his fried chicken the other day!

I got it five, but I had never heard the word before.

It’s been written. But so has a book on Texas pies.
-
Had my annual performance review this morning. All is well.
Groovy.
-
Watched the first couple of episodes of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
-
What happened to Debra Lee Scott?
-
I’m enjoying it. But it can also seem slow as a real soap opera.

She died. BK and she were tight for a spell.

Oh, my goodness!
-
Where everybody at?
-
I shall endeavor to move us to the 6th of pages.
-
Hello from 6!
-
Yes, sadly Debralee passed away at much too young an age. We were very close all during the play I did at the Taper, in which she was one of the understudies. Then we reunited on the Angie episode I did. I saw her a few times after that. A not that well known fact is that she's the dead girl who's fished out of the water at the beginning of Dirty Harry.
-
What is this page six malarkey.
-
And just barely page six.
-
So it is written, so it shall be posted.
-
George must be off eating lobster rolls.
-
Or perhaps he's having Apple Pan Dowdy?
-
Does anyone still make apple pan dowdy?
-
I want my croque monsieur sandwich, but the place that has it is only on Uber Eats, which is fine, but it never seems to be open.
-
I WANT it.
-
Damn them, damn them all the HELL.
-
And speaking of HELL, where the HELL is George.
-
Perhaps he's eating apple brown betty?
-
Maybe he had both.
-
I, on the other hand, have never had either.
-
I guess we won't be getting off this damn page because someone is eating apple pan dowdy and apple brown betty, and washing it down with apple pie a la mode.
-
Quite disturbing.
-
And not very sporting.
-
Ridic.
-
In any case:
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
