Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written on the wall, and now it is time for you to post until the off the wall cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BEATIFIC!

George asked about my cousin's traveling from The Bronx to go to synagogue every Saturday in Manhattan: How far does she travel? Does it take very long?
It's quicker than so many people's commuting from the outer boroughs to their jobs in Manhattan. The Express Bus, once on the bus, takes about 20-25 minutes to go from Throggs Neck to Manhattan on the East Side, then she has a pleasant (if the weather is cooperative) walk from the bus stop to the synagogue on the Upper West Side.
-
She says there are no synagogues close by in The Bronx, and most times of the year, the services she goes to are just Saturday morning.
From the synagogue in the West 80's to us on West 43rd, it's a pretty normal subway ride.

This song from the "Writing on the Wall" album by Bucks Fizz feels like it referred (years in advance) to today's Notes.
"I Hear Talk"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dZnWPYXd_s
"And still I can’t believe what’s going round
I don’t believe you’d ever let me down
I hear talk, I hear the writings on the wall"
And later (in the bridge) references "Chinese whispers circulate"
-
There was some amazing hair going on in videos in the 1980s!
-
This part of the lyric now seems prescient about the internet:
If you don't want a headline, better use your head,
'Cause I heard someone say something you said."
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Wow, that took a while to post.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning.
-
Today we are going to see "Let the Good Times Roll."
-
I slept in. Annabelle and Thatch loved the extra cuddles. I wish Stella would join us, but that baby prefers to march to another drum.
-
Today we are going to see "Let the Good Times Roll."
Have fun! If you see my friend Jack Viertel, tell him hello. I hoper the show's good.
-
After I take the trash to the basement, I have no plans for the day. I hope that means I can take it easy.
-
BK, I'm sorry to hear about Genghis Cohen. I remember a wonderful dinner there after we opened The Brain from Planet X.
-
Good morning, all.

BK, I'm sorry to hear about Genghis Cohen. I remember a wonderful dinner there after we opened The Brain from Planet X.
It is sad when favorite places go downhill. We have invested so much time and love on them.

I wish the show well, too, but again, I say this as someone who's always cared deeply about you, Larry - be very careful in trusting that friendship with Jack. Recall your relationship with him before "New Yorkers" - I truly believe from experience that if he ever decides you're not of use to him, the friendship will no longer be trustworthy.
-
I wish I had another hour of sleep. Oh well.
-
Sunday.
-
Happy Sunday to one and all! On the Broadway Radio Show, talented singer & songwriter D.C. Anderson returns to play his 12 Favorite Show Tunes. Tune in for a fun collection of songs from Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, and more!

Good morning, all.
-
Sunday.
Have to agree.
-
I’ve never seen The Daydreamer.
-
I suppose I'm up.
-
Four and a half hours of sleep.
-
Up at eight.
-
Really irritating.
-
Did some proofing and frankly I'm ready to just give up with this proofing. From eight to now, ten, I did four pages. That is just NUTS. We'll see how far I get today.
-
From DR Laura:
That's more than I saw all day.
I thought you needed to see some butterflies, even if they weren't real ;)
-
I have not grown tired of watching the planes take off and land, but then our windows insulate most of the sound. We can hear the military jets but that is it.
-
From Bruce:
They're looking for a new location - where they are now is just for delivery and takeout - but the issues began at the restaurant - my last three visits there were all disappointing for every single dish.
That's a shame. I guess you need to take a break from there and try them again once they have settled into their new location.
-
From George:
Oh, my goodness! :o
I’ve just had the craziest job interview of my life
Oh my. The women was impressive. Maybe that video will get her a good interview.

Same here. This is my kind of cat, as in I love the coloring and markings.

BK, I'm sorry to hear about Genghis Cohen. I remember a wonderful dinner there after we opened The Brain from Planet X.

My mother used to say, No good deed goes unpunished.

BK, is a package that says it's on its way from Amy E. the book from Kritzerland?
-
;)
-
BK, is a package that says it's on its way from Amy E. the book from Kritzerland?
Yep.
-
Yea, or Nay?
-
I hadn't realized that a regular letter through the post office went up to 78 cents not that long ago.
Those rolls of "Forever" stamps are looking like they were a good buy.
-
BK, is a package that says it's on its way from Amy E. the book from Kritzerland?
Yep.
Great!
-
Made a millionaire pie. It’s in the freezer chilling down.
-
Starting s movie called The Karamazovs.
-
Instead of the brothers, this version has sisters.
-
It’s short. And I may not get through it.
-
Compressing 900 pages into an 86-minute film, with way too much exposition, might not work as well as the director thought.
-
It was only supposed to get up to 90 today. It’s 95 and could be climbing.
-
I’m displeased.
-

I had to look that up. It sounds like a good summer pie.

OK ;D

Groan. Our expected high is 93, however, it is currently only 87.
-
Our walk, mostly in the shade, was comfortable even without a breeze.
-
Keith got Wordle in three :)
-
DR singdaw that's a nay from me.
I don't even understand how that is supposed to work.
-
Nay from me as I prefer the center pieces of brownies.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I enjoyed Let the Good Times Roll. It was short on plot, but it showcases New Orleans and the culture very well.
-
I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I’ve tried to get back here many times, but so much gets in the way.
-
Mucho kudos to all who have published recently!
BK, of course, Elmore, John G, Freddie: to all of you, well done!
-
I’m pleased to see Annabelle and Thatch now in print after hearing about their (and Stella’s) antics for so many years. Jeremy Clayton’s illustrations are perfect! I’ve ordered a copy for myself and am thinking about others as gifts.
-
Hugs for John G. Losing someone is always hard. It seems to get harder as we get older, too.
-
Oh, and Elmore, is there a way to obtain a signed copy? Maybe a signed bookplate that could be sent through the mail, then glued in?
-
Hi DR Jeanne.
-
I’m curious as to what happens at a cremation conference. DR Rodz, can you spill the beans?
No free samples, I imagine. 😉

DR Jeanne, if you are playing catch-up you might notice that I finally am trying those plugs for my eyes. So far I am not screaming to get them removed ;)
I'm actually kind of getting used to them though, as usual, my right eye is more sensitive. Time will tell if they work.

Keith's popping corn so I had better go.

The condo saga continues. In our last episode we were at a stalemate. The seller refused to pay buyer’s commission, about $13k, and I wasn’t about to pay it on top on an already high sales price.
Then the tenants gave notice. Suddenly, the seller wanted to sell. He’s now willing to pay buyer’s commission, but he’s hiked up the sales price by $5k. Gawd!
I requested a second walk-through, which happened last Thursday. Quite helpful. I didn’t spot anything that could give me leverage on pricing, but we learned that what we thought was a built-out in the bedroom and which I’d planned to demolish isn’t a build-out at all. It’s cement and structural. I have a couple ideas on how to handle it, though.
I’m trying to make this work.

~~~ULTIMATE-STRENGTH CONDO VIBES~~~ for DR Jeanne!!!!!
-
Los Angeles, 1971
Jane, have you watched any of the series HOSTAGE, about the female British Prime Minister and the female French President. We got hooked on it, and saw all five episodes in one night.
It's only a total of about 3-1/2 hours, though; 5 episodes 40-45 minutes each - not much longer than a long movie.
-
Has anyone been watching Ludwig on BritBox or Amazon Prime? I love, love, love ❤️ this show! An unlikely detective. I love it when geeks triumph.
Good night, Jane.
Is that your family?
Great photo!
Must decide on dinner. It won’t be Genghis Cohen.
-
Vibes to all.
And a good week ahead.
TTFN.
-
I’m home from dancing.
-
Eating some leftovers.
-
The millionaire pie was delicious.
-
But only with pineapple and pecans.
-
The maraschino cherries were too sweet.
-
The coconut might be okay missed in, but I had it as an optional topping. It didn’t integrate well.
-
Millstone alert - John G, you're getting close to an impressive 103,000!
-
Easy pie. I can see why people have made it all these years.
-
If I can blather for 19 more posts, Freddie.
And I can blather.
-
If I can blather for 19 more posts, Freddie.
:)
-
It’ll also help get us off this page.
-
So here goes.
-
Up on your toes.
-
As Larry Hart knows.
-
In his musical shows.
-
Poetry, not prose.
-
Anything Goes.
-
I suppose
-
Shall I propose?
-
Or dance on my nose?
-
Is that your family?
'Tis, indeed.
-
Wear support hose?
-
Five!
-
Slogging through the rest of The Karamazovs.
-
When 86 minutes feels longer than 900 pages.
-
A burglar broke into our house last night.
-
I’m worn out.
-
I didn't shoot him; I just focused the red laser dot on his forehead.
-
A burglar broke into our house last night.
Yikes!
-
Our 3 cats did the rest.
-
Good kitties.
-
I guess I should have done that all in one post.
-
103,000!
There is a documentary on Netflix about DEVO.
I don't know anything about DEVO.
Liza Minnelli has a memoir coming out next spring?
-
Good night, friends.
And others.
-
Sorry to miss you, Jeanne. Hope you’re doing well.
-
Now watching a melodrama from the early days of sound, The Sin of Madelon Claudet.
-
Helen Hayes won her first Oscar for it.
-
It’s got a good cast. A very young Robert Young, Lewis Stone, Alan Hale and more.
-
Are we ready to move on?
-
Only two posts.
-
Onward!
-
Six!
