Another thing that's happened over the last few weeks is that my friend Shelly is no longer just my friend Shelly. She's now my housemate Shelly (don't worry, it's strictly platonic)! The condo that she was renting was sold because the owner and his wife want to move out of state. They didn't make the decision quickly, but they finally sold and moved. Some of the remodeling that I did last year was just in case this might happen, but now it's officially official.
Thank you DR ELMORE.
I am off in a tick to The Appointment - as opposed to The Apartment.
Should get my lab results later today.
Appt. went well. Follow up details are good.
And I am home from the getting place.
I bought a box of Chiken 'N A Bisket crackers and a bag of pretzels.

Oh my, I didn’t mean to be away so long. Terrible internet connectivity issues threw me into mental disarray at a time when I was hosting an industry webinar for work. Telecom people had to come and rewire my house, essentially. And never really figured out the problem. But the work computers are now connected directly to to modem, so wifi issues shouldn’t affect work anymore.
And when I found a store selling Little Debbie Jelly Creme Pies (formerly known as Choc-O-Jels), a staple of my college diet, I did track them down. Sometimes you just gotta get these things out of your system.

Thank you. Yes, I ended up hosting this live webinar with three female titans of the industry with me sitting on the floor in front of a chair trying to look like I was in an office. (Our webinar software of choice doesn’t allow for fake backgrounds). But I made it work.
I asked my 4 sisters to say something at my wedding reception. They could have read a poem, anything. Found out later they got in such a fight about what to do, none of them were speaking leading up to my wedding.
The happy ending is they sang an amazing customized rendition of The Partridge Family’s “I Think I Love You” together that wowed everyone.
I just wish I’d never heard the behind-the-scenes backstory!
It's on paper view.

Glad you are able to help Shelly out, DR George.

Jrand, that's such a beautiful birthday tribute to you on Facebook from your sister Myrna!
I figure she won't mind that I quote it here:
"Myrna Cooke
Happy, Happy Birthday to Jackrandall Earles!!! My brother, my friend, my mentor, and one of the most positive influences in my life.
Not only for me, but for all of the people for whom you have always been a safe place, sounding board, and sympathetic advisor. You have changed lives, you have touched so many souls, and healed so many broken and lost people. The ripple effect of your loving guidance has changed the course of many lives for the better.
You opened up a world of knowledge and a love of music, film, and writing that has captured the imaginations of your siblings, their children, and into the next generation. Because of you, this world is better. Because of you, this world is expanded to include all the beauty in life that most people miss.
Thank you for everything and my only hope is that your blessings for all you do come back to you one hundredfold. I love you and Happiest of Birthdays to you, dear brother."

But once I bought a box of Boo Berry cereal because I’d never had it. Got that outta my system.

LOL! Here's my brother's tribute to me, presumably written with the help of his lawyer who was trying to disqualify me as executor.
"Fred Landau is a Harvard Educated attorney, who has never practiced law. His training has equipped him with skills that enable him to twist any situation to fit his chosen narrative, reconfiguring reality to suit his purpose."
:)
I'm looking forward to watching the World Origami Championship.
It's on paper view.
Millstone Alert, George! Closing in on a big one: 150,000!

Wow. I didn't realize you had a second bedroom. Vibes this works out great for both of you.
Tuesday afternoon greetings! I’m almost ready to leave for my semiannual dermatology check and some errands.

There's a potential for euphemism there that I wouldn't dare detail on a family site.
My A1C is a bit high.
I think I'll sell.

Choc-O-Jels, on the other hand, sound like those jelly candies we consumed at Passover, in the old observant days.

My minister has a thing for vanilla pudding pies. I don't think I ever ate one. But online he found a grocery store in Pasadena that had pudding pies. They didn't have vanilla pudding pies, but they had other flavors. He brought about three dozen of them back home on the plane when we went for a meeting. The TSA agent was pretty confused when he opened the rolling bag and the bag was completely stuffed with them.
My A1C is a bit high.
I think I'll sell.
I'm donating blood later today. The Red Cross perk this month is a free A1C test.

I think the test result may be because I did not take my metformin before the appt. - because I didn't also want to eat a banana and break my fast.
Laura, I just noticed the quote you're referencing "A lot of people are saying maybe we'd like a dictator." -

JRand, hopefully you can take care of that by removing unnecessary carbs from your diet.
