Well, you've read the notes, the notes got my drift, and now it is time for you to post until the drifting cows come home.

And the word of the day is: CONQUER!

And now - Dino at the piano.

Maybe the guacamole wasn't such a good idea.

In the meantime, go to 16:00 in this video - an episode of The Girl With Something Extra, starring Sally Field and John Davidson. I did this as a favor to Bob Claver and the other Partridge Family folks - they'd just call me and tell me I had a part and when to show up. One day, in and out in an hour. I just remember Sally trying to watch what I was doing because everyone was laughing. She was very sweet. So was John. But this episode is loaded with one scene actors who are very well known.

Good morning, all!

Another night of so-so sleep. That damned heating pad is doing nothing to help that pinched nerve.
-
Doug is anxious to dive intro that Kay Swift ballet, so I must spend a bit of time today on that.

In 1970-71, I was one of the four graduate assistants in the theatre dept. The other three were Pam Hollenbeck, Tim Waters, and Joe Haggard. After June 1971, we parted ways: Pam and her husband Paul headed off to Ithaca, NY, and Cornell, where Paul finished his degree as an architect, Joe and his wife Linda off to divorce, and I never knew what became of Tim. I learned much later trhat he was an AIDS casualty, but he never finished his M.A. degree, and I have no idea where he might be. When I returned to Ohio in Sept. 1972, Linda Haggard had reverted to her maiden name, and I never saw Joe again.

This is all prologue to this post. Several years ago, I reconnected with Joe, who nowe lives in Austin, TX. We sorta keep in touch, maybe once a year. This morning I received this email:
I enjoyed your book so much, you brought your characters to life and have a gift with words and putting them together.
Somewhere between the journey to the center of the earth and the caroling, I realized that I had two new friends, a pair of delightful kitties named Annabelle and Thatch. I do wish I could really meet them, but it sounds like we’re both old and creaky enough that travel is out of the question. At least I can thank you for my introducing me to my wonderful new friends, ask you to give them big hugs from “Uncle Joe”, and urge you to take care of yourself and keep on writing.
I hope this not the last I hear about my new friends.

When we were grad students, Joe and I spent a lot of time assembling the plot of an operetta; he would write the text and I the music. It had something to do with a Mexican dictator and a taco vendor, but I remember no more now.

Good morning, all.

RIP - Robert Redford, 89

That's an amazing story and note, DR Elmore.

Very cool, BK!

Are you asking these far-flung friends how they heard about your book?
-
Fun clip, BK.

I just saw that. :(

Lovely post DR ELMORE. Thanks for sharing.
-
Funny clip MR BK.
So strange to see Sally with dark hair and John as a blond.
-
Goodbye Page One.
-
Hello you, two!
-
Haven't slept much yet - maybe ninety minutes. No more guacamole at night. Ridic.
-
Sorry to hear about Mr. Redford - one of my favorite screen actors.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Nice story, Elmore.
-
Fun clip, BK.

I have been to the basement, mail boxes, and back. Before that I spent 30 minutes in the bathroom being sick. I am so sick of this.
-
Good morning.
-
Leonard decided I should get up at 4 a.m.
-
One of my favorite Redford performances was his turn as Death on Twilight Zone.

That's a lovely story, Elmore.
