I just did about thirty, including a couple of new cast albums, lots of classical and soundtracks - new and older. Who knew?

The nephew's father, Montgomery's brother, Brooks, recorded on tape every telephone call he had with Monty. Kept every letter and clipping....and had extensive correspondence with folks who wanted to write about Monty. the nephew plays some of the recordings and has gone through an entire room of letters, etc.

My favorite part was when the nephew talked to Jack Larson who told a very funny story about himself, Monty, and Merv Griffin.

I have written about this before. I pay Apple a $10/month fee. Then, each month, when the record review magazines arrive, I can add any new releases of interest to my Apple Music library for "free." And all the new cast albums, as well.

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to the Bedford Playhouse to see the silent Beau Geste (1926) which Robert Harris will be presenting in his new 4K reconstruction and restoration. It has a newly recorded score by The Mont Alto Orchestra, which is excellent news, and "will be presented as it was in 1926 – with an intermission." Looking forward to that.

I discovered her on the Tube of You about six years ago and she instantly became a favorite and I got the couple of CDs of her music that was available at the time. I had no idea Chandos had done more volumes of her wonderful music, and wonderful it is. Very English and tonal in the musical language I love - think Vaughn Williams and that sort of thing, but with her own voice. This new thing I downloaded is an instant favorite.

I read the Bosworth bio and one other years ago, and felt that between them, I got about half an idea of the man. There’s also a good European doc from 1983 on YouTube that Brooks was part of.

They are basically known for one huge hit in the U.S. (“Take On Me”), but around the world they had much greater lasting success.

They did the theme from the Bond film “The Living Daylights” and do not paint a great picture of working with Barry, who they squabbled with.

Amazing trove of new information and audio. Delves into the weirdness of why Clift’s brother recorded so much. He is known for mixing comedy and with his scary, but the family at the center of this movie is so stupid, it's like watching The Three Stooges. Hard to invest. And yet, it's considered the best monster movie of the 2000s and some think it's one of the best of all time.
