5.0 out of 5 stars Richard Sherman through adoring eyes

Having grown up in the wonderful world of Disney, I too fell madly in love with the Sherman Brothers’ beautiful lyrics and heartfelt music at an early age. That love affair continued/continues throughout my life any time I hear one of their melodies.
It was pure joy to read Richard and Me by Bruce Kimmel. Through his 25 year friendship, Kimmel shared the innermost workings of a creative, sensitive, loving human being with a delightful sense of humor. Well-chosen prose brought out the giant that Richard Sherman truly was.
Thank you Mr. Kimmel for sharing your love, your feelings, your friendship with us. The story ended much too soon.

Regarding the TOD question, it's hard to think of Lawrence O'Donnell as not being in it for the money when there are stories like this saying he'd been pushing for a $25-million annual salary.

Good morning, all!

I slept late - to 6:00! - this morning. It was nice. There were several dreams, none of which I remember.

I didn't know until recently that before the famous version of "Native New Yorker" sung by Odyssey

If I were in Tramp's crosshairs for my comments about him, I'd want a lot of money, too, so I could hire the best possible attorneys to fight the Fat Orange Slug.

I finally heard back from HRA around 2:30 yesterday. The lady was very helpful and filed a complaint from me stating that my documents - due by Sept. 15 and not posted until Sept. 26 - should have arrived on time and sat on someone's desk at HRA until the person got to them. I probably won;t get a response until 2026.

We used to have a pee can in the car - but it could have served double duty in a pinch.

Regarding JRand’s can: You wouldn’t want it serving double duty simultaneously, of course.

Mrs Rodz is in San Diego for work, but returning today. One more trip this week then I think we’re done with travel till November.
-
Yesterday afternoon I watched What Really Happened To Baby Jane?
A spoof of the well known film by the GGRC aka The Gay Girls Riding Club a group of cross dressers and/or homosexuals in LA in the early to mid sixties.
It was actually Five of their movies....Always On Sunday, the title film, Agent 0069, The Roman Springs On Mrs Stone, and All About Alice.
Very amateur-ish but at some places amusing.....the only one I didn't like and went on WAY TOO LONG was the James Bond spoof....however I did get my new drag name from the credits in that one.....yes, I am now Fonda Peters.
Nearly three hours long in total - you know if you would be interested in it.
Signed F.P.
-
True DR RODZINSKI.
-
I recorded a podcast yesterday for our Funeral Service Insider show. I was the guest recently, but yesterday I sat in to interview Tui Snider, a delightful Texan who writes books about cemeteries around the world.
-
I watched a movie yesterday, said to be one of the worst ever made. Manos: The Hands of Fate. It’s as bad as they say without being all that interesting. Like, everything about it is wrong, sometimes hilariously so, but it’s also a chore to sit through.
-
Thanks for the vibes, y’all.
-
TOD:
I don’t watch TV. But I have enjoyed the few moments I have seen of Maddow, O’Donnell and Psaki.

"We're all out of cornflakes. F.P." Took me three hours to figure out F.P. was Fonda Peters.

LOL
-
And of course DR RODZINSKI - Manos is the Spanish word for Hands.....so it is Hands: The Hands of Fate.
-
I think it was the first MST3K episode I saw.
-
A Pee Pan in the Car - that's the title of my next novel.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep. Trying to send files in but the PDF of the book is 5 mgs too large - I used to be able to use We Transfer but I think these companies like to make everything as difficult as possible. Trying to figure out a solution but no one is responding.
-
I just caught a bit of the insufferable Pam Bondi's rude, smug, sneering, disrespectful appearance before one of the Senate committees. She's so crooked they'll bury this POS in a corkscrew shaped coffin.

I haven't kept up with it lately, but when I got into genealogy several years back, I was visiting some cemeteries and photographing gravesites of our family members and for a few other people on Find-a-Grave. I sometimes got help from the office folks, which is like finding gold when they have something of interest in their files. I have one book here, "Your Guide to Cemetery Research" by Sharon DeBartolo Carmack. I've only flipped through it, but I'll dig in when I jump back into these activities again. I completely understand the fascination with it.

We have gone to many family gravesites. My best trip was our English tour, especially finding my grandmother's grave. Of course Keith did all the research online first.

Speaking of Keith's research abilities, I have never been more grateful for them than I am right now. He is much more helpful than the doctor.

BK, have you ever heard of an LA blaxploitation film called The Candy Tangerine Man? It says a Doug Haverty is in the cast.
-
I have not heard of such a thing - I'd doubt it was our Doug, but let me check.
-
Well, well, well - I found the movie on the Tube of You - and it IS Doug Haverty playing an undercover cop dressed as a hooker. Blackmail forthcoming. Released in the year we made Nudie Musical and when Doug was working at A&M Records.
-
Whoa! He never mentioned this masterpiece?
-
I just added another missing piece of my George Segal viewing puzzle. The 1969 Irwin Kirshner film, “Loving” with Eva Marie Saint. Beautifully shot downer with George as a complete d-bag. Lot of good actors including Sterling Hayden and Roy Scheider in a scene.
-
And here it is.
