Well, you've read the notes, the notes were khachy, and now it is time for you to post until the khachy cows come home.

So, I just found out from the "Wacky Dust" video that I posted last night that the music was written by Oscar Levant! Yes, that Oscar Levant! :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
The alarm rang at 5:15, and I turned it off to cuddle with Annabelle & Thatch. We all dozed for an hour and now my usual mornig schedule is screwed up.
-
Where is DR vixmom these days?
-
My original plan was to do the laundry this morning, but I'm putting that on toorrow's schedule.
-
Doug and I finished the Kay Swift ballet yesterday, and he and his partner are off to Amsterdam.
-
Last night I watched episodes 3 & 4 of The House of Guinness, which were most entertaining. Arthur Guinness, the oldest of the four Guinness siblings, was gay, and episode 3 dealt in part with his sister and aunt looking for a bride. The "contract" scene between Arthur and the chosen fiancee was outrageously frank and very funny.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Billy Wilder did very nicely with the aforementioned "Sabre Dance" in One, Two, Three (1961). That might even have been my first exposure to a classical piece used in a movie. One of the earliest, certainly. (I'd seen Fantasia earlier, but that doesn't count.)
-
Sabre Dance? What about the Dance of the Seven Veils?
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Today at work, I continue with my interview-a-thon. 16 in 3 days.
-
The interviews themselves are fun. Writing them and scoring them is more of a chore.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Late already. And I am tired.
-
TOD:
The first that comes to mind is another Lubrick film, his use of Bartok and Bach in The Shining.
-
Notes teed. Driven.
-
Sabre? I barely know ‘er!
-
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.
Vibes that the appt. can get scheduled in a reasonable fashion.
-
Opening night vibes for DR MICHAEL G.....or is that tomorrow night?

We used to do an annual Christmas Play at the Phoenix Theatre that included some audience participation.
One of the events was The Drag Race. Three actors rolled out shopping carts full of women's clothing. The three audience members had one minute to dress their own actor in the clothing and then the audience voted on the best result. ;D
I was the AD and ran the sound. The director asked me to choose a song to play during the event....and of course I chose The Sabre Dance.... :D
-
What kind of book drama is going on?
crazy!
-
Today I got my 18th 5-star Amazon review. I think I know who wrote it, but I am embarrassed by its run-on sentences and pathetic grammar. You'd think the sentences in Annabelle & Thatch were no more difficult than "Look, Dick! See Sally jump rope."
-
BK, I saw this and thought of you!
-
We are but a fading twinkle in the memory of Vixmom….

The NxNW cropduster scene takes place near the town I grew up in Indiana, but it was filmed in California.
-
BK, I saw this and thought of you!
That's pretty great!
-
Thank you DR John.
-
John, your just about perfect galette looks good.
-
Thank you DR Singdaw. I slept until 5:00 this morning. The first thing I thought about was the fact they screwed up my urgent test order.
-
Bruce, I'm glad you found a couple of people you can use.
-
Thanks George.
-
And, again, thank you George.
-
DR George, thank you for capturing, plus one, my post.

BRUCE!
Prednisone is a serious medication and you do not want to accidentally take extra. Amazon & Etsy have loads of pill containers for sale if you can't find something you like in the store.
I don't use one. For now, just line up the number of containers (dishes, old pill bottles, anything) that you need for the day and drop the pills in one of those for each dosage time. Label them if needed, and then put the dish/container away as you take your medication.

LOL DR ELMORE.

DR RODZINSKI it's like when Mr BIG filmed The Beginning of the End in the mountains of Illinois.

lol JRand can I tell you how sad I was when I learned One Day At a Time wasn’t filmed in Indy?
-
I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep, awakened by a phone call from my gal at the publisher.
-
Always best to go to the top of the food chain.
-
My gal was actually ORDERED not to call me by her "manager." Well, said manager is being informed that is NEVER to happen again. This same manager will purportedly be discussing the content with me tomorrow. I've already written the higher-ups about this and how ridiculous it is and I'm hoping they have a chat with her before I do. Bottom line, author is not changing a name, period. She's happy to sign an indemnification clause - the only people who'll be reading this book are her friends - she's not publicizing it. The publisher is not the author nor the copyright holder - they are a vessel to print the book and not responsible for the content. It's like a commentary track on a Blu-ray and the disclaimer the studio uses that the opinions expressed are of the people speaking and not the studio.
The entire point of me shepherding this is that they treat it like one of my books, i.e. easy and none of this BS. In Album Produced by I don't change the name of the jerk who was a back stabbing a-hole. It's there on every page in that section and I do not spare him.
-
We are but a fading twinkle in the memory of Vixmom….
vixmom says things have been crazy. Her mom fell, broke a couple of ribs and her sternum; to please give her apologies, she'll be back when she can.

For quick reference to that chapter, could you say what chapter that story is in?
-
It's pretty much the last third of the book.
-
Opening night vibes for DR MICHAEL G.....or is that tomorrow night?
Thanks, DR Jrand75! It's tomorrow night.
-
Tonight we're back in film class, where we're scheduled to see The Eagle and the Hawk as an example of topicality in disguise.
-
The chorus part of the orgy scene is pretty mild. The really sexy parts are left to the dancers.
-
It's pretty much the last third of the book.
Are you referring to B.M. who became a Broadway producer?
-
We had a lot of people at the pantry this morning.
-
We may have to added to the number we can help.
-
Three!
-
Up from a nap.
-
Finishing up Joyce’s Ulysses for the first time in decades. I worshipped the book when I was younger. I still find it monumental, but I also find it overwritten, exhausting and the work of an overlibininous schoolboy. Still funny, still superb, but … not quite so brilliant now that I am older.
-
Yes, B.M. He "produced" ONE flop show. Not a B'way producer in my book. He was working with Tom McCoy out here but don't know if that's still the case.
-
He also had every reference on Google to the lawsuit he lost with you know who - a million bucks. How can he do that?
-
I'll mosey on over to the bloodwork place in thirty five minutes.
-

Guess I'll mosey on over to the bloodwork place, then the mail place - painting has arrived.

Exciting.

Poor vixmomsmom! And poor Vixmom!
-
One of my in laws falls every few weeks. Somehow haven’t broken bones yet, thank goodness.
-
Back from bloodwork and mail place.
-
The poor people who were waiting when I arrived had been there for two HOURS. No appointment. Why? It took me five seconds to make the appointment and while they were a little late getting to me, it was only five minutes or so and I was in and out VERY quickly. Never felt the needle go in, so that was good.
-
Painting arrived - haven't opened the package yet.
-
Ordered a chopped Eyetalian salad from CPK - hopefully here soon before I faint.

I wish we celebrated early like Canada does. The weather would be nicer and it wouldn't be so darn close to Christmas.

Salad was good, friend's book is finally up on Amazon - no content issues there - but he had to re-upload the cover - as soon as that propagates, I'll link to the book.

LOL!
-
Trying to figure out the snack. Could make eggs on an English muffin but am not really feeling it. Could make scrambled eggs and onions with cream cheese but am not really feeling it. No pasta or anything huge, just a reasonable snack of some sort. Maybe Taco Bell.

I remember the back of the Marathon wrapper had a ruler on it so you could see it was a foot long.
-
Just added to my George Segal mental film collection by watching the African adventure, “The Southern Star” with Ursula Andress and Orson Welles and Harry Andrews. Lots of sticker footage of African wildlife interrupting a B-grade adventure based on a Jules Verne tale. Kinda fun though.
-
Ian Hendry played the main villain. Welles did his best to create a character for himself.
-
Hey guys, sorry but things have been crazy
-
The short story is Mom fell broke a couple of ribs and her sternum.
The longer story involves the fact that I had her at the ER twice in a week and it was seven days between the visits and it was the second visit when they actually realized that the original ct scan was misread and she had all these broken bones
-
She is finally in a rehab
-
The story of the past few weeks would fill many pages but I do not have the physical or emotional stamina to share.
-
Miss you guys
-
I hav3 four books here much in need of reading

I apologize

Or Del Taco.
I like Del Taco.
-
The only one in the area that I know about is in Lacey, literally just up the street from where my mom lives.
-
Today, I had a Fish Soft Taco (https://tacotimenw.com/menu/soft-taco-fish/#menu_wrap) (but really, it's a burrito) from the local Taco Time (https://tacotimenw.com/). It was pretty darned good.
A soft flour tortilla filled with lightly battered Alaskan Cod fillets, tangy white sauce, an assortment of diced vegetables and mild salsa.
-
I got it in a meal with a diet Coke and their available-only-for-a-limited-time Spicy Tater Fries: (https://tacotimenw.com/menu/spicy-tater-fries/#menu_wrap)
Crisp potato rounds, deep-fried and topped with a bold blend of spicy seasonings.
-
The Spicy Tater Fries were pretty darned spicy.
-
I'd never had them before (them being new, and all), but I should've gotten the small order of Tater
Tots Fries...but they were pretty good.
-
Tonight's J&H rehearsal went pretty well.
-
We mainly just worked and ran the big group numbers.
-
Some we sang through first with the music before running onstage, and that helped.
-
Starting at 3:00 on Sunday (the beginning of Hell Week!), we have the cue-to-cue.
-
The director (who is also the lighting designer...and can also play piano pretty well) said that it might just end up being a full run, but with any tech week, "it'll be what it'll be."
-
My husband asked me if I could clear the dining room table.
I had to get a running start, but I made it.

That reminded me of this quote (that I literally just learned was an Erma Bombeck quote!):
