Well, you've read the notes, the notes had tender scenes of emotion AND body parts, and now it is time for you to post until the tender cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IMPRIMATUR!

Good morning.

Good morning, all.
-
Your quote, Laura, makes me want to vomit on the ground.
-
I think you achieved your desired effect.
-
Long, long day ahead. Another book signing in the hill country.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Being The Great Procrastinator, I have moved laundry day to Tuesday.
-
I simply did not feel like doing laundry this morning, so Annabelle, Thatch, Stella, and I slept in.
-
Tomorrow, Fed Ex is arriving sometime between 8:00am and 6:00pm to pick up these two cartons of signed books for my Facebook friend. With that indefinite time frame, I cannot leave the apartment to do the laundry.
-
Today is Leonard's Gotcha Day. He was a hungry kitten crying on the patio. We found him after we got home from the hospital when my grandson was born.
-
Annabelle has discovered a new favorite food: butter; I only let her have a few iicks a day.
-
Today is Leonard's Gotcha Day. He was a hungry kitten crying on the patio. We found him after we got home from the hospital when my grandson was born.
Happy Gotcha Day, Leonard!
-
He ate dry food before I was able to catch him with a feather wand and set him in my lap. After I brought him in the house, he ate two cans of wet food.
-
DR Laura, yesterday's birthday party sounds like a MAGA nightmare. I am so happy!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Not many people know this, but I studied puns in college.

It was a sighchology major.

After "That Old Black Magic," YouTube served me up Robert Goulet performing Billy Bigelow - "If I Loved You."

Interesting...

Shouldn't someone tell this lying scumbag that Biden was not president on Jan. 6?

Yesterday I watched, kind of at random, but it was part of my travels through some early Twilight Time releases, Journey to the Center of the Earth. I hadn't seen it since that second Blu-ray of theirs was released some ten years ago. After watching, I sampled bits of the isolated score track, which sounds fabulous.
That got me in the mood, so I pulled out BK's soundtrack release on Varese, loaded the PDF of Bernard Herrmann's score into the iPad, turned it up on the Big Speakers, and listened to it all the way through while following along. I'd downloaded a number of those scores back when there were a couple of sites where they could be easily found (at the moment I don't know of ANY such sites that are still functioning), but aside from checking out a few favorite things, I'd never sat down and carefully listened to one while reading it. I'd sort of done it a couple of times while playing a movie, but you've really got to hear JUST the score, whether an isolated track on a DVD or Blu-ray or on a separate recording, to appreciate it like this.
-
Notes harrumphed. Gallumphed.
-
Which brings me to a Sunday ASK BK:
Would the tracks of that Varese CD be the same recordings as the "isolated" tracks on the Blu-ray? It would be quite the exercise trying to compare the two, so I'm just wondering what you remember about all of this. My guess is they'd have to be the same. They certainly wouldn't have recorded the score more than once, right?
The BD includes the voice of a producer or engineer before and after each cue. Did CD producers have the same tracks at their disposal, trimming that stuff as necessary?
-
In a little while I have to run out to the supermarket for just a couple of things. I'm sure the coming storm's Panic Shopping has been going on yesterday and today, but I don't need the usual things (bread, milk, etc.) that people run out for. I'll still have to endure the crowds, though.
The storm isn't supposed to be too bad where we are. It's going to impact the coast much more. But it's going to be a good 24-hour one, which is just wearying. I'll be very glad when it's passed.
-
Nice geography lesson from DR singdaw.
-
Signing vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
Yesterday's viewing:
On HBO MAX....a 5 part series ON THE SET.....about the troubles on the sets of several Nickelodeon shows....all parts interesting except the last.
On TUBI a documentary about Robert Opel - the man who streaked the Oscar ceremony in 1974 by his nephew Robert Oppel. Very strange.
And then on HBO a 2011 movie titled SHAME from director Sir Steve McQueen. It's about a man who is a sex addict - Michael Fassbinder and his sister and his sister Carey Mulligan. She is a singer in a piano bar and sings New York, New York using a very interesting piano arrangement.
-
DR Jrand75 reminds me:
In my continuing award-winning series of Things I've Been Falling Asleep To On TCM, last night's pleasures were the second half of Sweet Smell of Success and the first half of New York Confidential.
-
Hitchcock alert:
They're showing Notorious at 8 p.m. and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) at 10 p.m. eastern tonight.
-
There is a later scene in which Fassbinder takes a female co-worker out to dinner and the actor playing the waiter does such an on point performance that I am still thinking about it. His backstory that he created for himself must have been worked on for days.
Carey:

Any of the scene with the waiter cuts most of him out.....too bad.

It's a wonderful Sunday... On the new Broadway Radio Show, I chat with delightful vocalist Juliet Ewing about her love of great show tunes and standards, which are beautifully performed on her new album Simply S'Wonderful: The Magic of Gershwin. It's a fun conversation with lots of great music!

I am back from the supermarket, which was busy but not bad at all, except ...
Since I was picking up exactly one (1) item, I went to the self-checkout thingie to pay for it using cash. It took the dollar bills but rejected the coins. The machine froze there and signaled the Help Person to come over. Help Person was juggling three of us, so that took a couple of minutes, then the machine would not cooperate when he was trying to free it up. He had to pound on it, open it up to do something, and pound on it some more. Finally, he got it reset and was able to feed my coins in and complete the purchase.
I had chosen the self-thingie (which I don't often do - I don't like doing things that eventually put people out of work) in the first place BECAUSE it was one item and I only wanted to get in and out. So with that machine hiccuping like it did, what do you suppose I, and the store, saved in time, efficiency, and money? Eh? Eh???

DR Rodzinski, keeping the children home from school for Thanksgiving is a good idea, soon they won't be able to skip school as easily.

As opposed to "the food is terrible, and such small portions" from the ANNIE HALL screenplay.

I recall someone on Facebook telling a story he claimed was true, about Katharine Hepburn walking next door to Sondheim's house where some sort of group dalliance was apparently going in, and telling her chef (or someone on her staff) to come home immediately.
That would have been before cell phones and emails, of course.
-
Google's AI has nothing I could find on the above story, but does report this:
"Katharine Hepburn and Stephen Sondheim: The legendary actress and composer lived next door to each other for years in the exclusive Turtle Bay Gardens on Manhattan's East Side. However, they were not on good terms. Hepburn, known for her privacy, reportedly complained about noise from Sondheim's piano playing. Some anecdotal accounts suggest their feuding inspired the song "It's the Witch from Next Door" in Sondheim's musical Into the Woods."

DR JOHN G that is a fair precis of SHAME.
So DR RODZINSKI hide the movie from the kidz.

I'm up, I'm up - over ten hours of consecutive sleep - hoo and ray.
-
Went the steak route and that is broiling now.
-
After that, a baked potato.
-
After that, a movie.
-
Later I'll be having a leftover steak which I'll very gently reheat, a baked potato which I'll microwave, and the last of some cole slaw - a very nice dry-ish one, must see from whence it came.

I just read that a rough-but-works formula to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit is:
Celsius x 2 +30 = Fahrenheit (roughly)

I saw the Steve Martin program but according to what I could find he didn't attend that college - then again, the Internet is a cesspool of misinformation.
-
Steak was good not great - less than half the price of Gelson's - but a world of quality difference. I broiled it, then finished it in the frying pan in sizzling butter.
-
Baked potato was fine but too filling.
-
Guess I'll try to find something to watch.

This morning I opened a can of tuna for Leonard's celebration. It was tuna packed in oil, which I bought by mistake. He didn't like it. The outside feral cats sure did.

I was surprised how expensive it was. My DH does the grocery shopping, so I've not kept up on prices.

We ended up getting about 2.5 inches of rain at my house today. Unbelievable. We've had our whole year's worth of rain in about two weeks.

Struggling a bit today - shortness of breath - not sure what it's about other than allergies - began happening about six days ago. Sometimes it gets better. Today is not the day.

Watched The Girl in Cabin 10 tonight on Netflix. The second half of the film is markedly different from the book.

Last night at about 12:15am, my DH says that I cried out and then crashed out of bed. I woke up on the floor. And our mattress is very high, so it was a long way down.
-
I do not remember the dream.
-
But tonight, I am starting to ache in places I shouldn't be. So I guess I did a bit of minor damage.
-
I must get to bed, as tomorrow we have to be at the airport around 7:00am.

And I haven't packed yet.

Did Jubilee and Porgy and Bess premiere on the same night?

“I deserve more Champagne, don’t you think?”
-
Excellent dialogue in Hitting a New High.

Here’s the milestone post!
-
Congratulations on the new millstone, DR John G!

Sunday matinee went great, and now we have some production photos online. For DR elmore and others wondering about the finale:

Thank you, MichaelG.

The production photos are wonderful. Any reviews yet?
-
Good night, all.
-
Watched a motion picture I've never seen.
-
Made an Instacart order due to running low on Pepcid - it was supposed to be here by nine. I'll be lucky if it's here by eleven. Apparently, they have this guy doing multiple orders.
-
Nuts.
-
Those are nice photographs. I feel the resemble how I'm feeling.
-

We have our regular photographer back for this production, which is great. No reviews yet, they usually start appearing a couple days after the first weekend.
-

Like the roof is caving in? Oh dear, feel better soon. Shortness of breath may be something other than allergies.
-
The child in the top photograph is the son of one of our usual choristers (but not this production) and one of our former choristers who is focusing more on rock for his performances these days. So he sure has the stage genes, and has been hearing opera since before he was born. I'm the one to give him his two movement cues after this initial entrance, and he hits his marks every time, and looks at the principals with great feeling.
-
Bacchus would be most pleased!
-
I wrote this: "I feel the resemble how I'm feeling."
I feel this is not a correct sentence.
-
I feel I wrote in a a feverish, short of breath, hallucination.
-
Actually, I feel that I resemble that sentence. Incoherent.
-
I think I meant that the photos represented how I'm feeling.
-
Had a snack and am about to have a small chocolate chip muffin.
-
Sometimes one must.
-
It's just done.
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
But at least we got to this damn page.
-
But I do not care for this page.
-
This page raises my ire.
-
It sets my ire on fire.
-
But I'm not a cryer.
-
Nor do I get stuck in the muck and mire.
-
Let's build a funeral pyre?
-
This page is like a flat tire.
-
Like walking a tightrope wire.
-
Or preaching to the choir.
-
It's dire.
-
This page is for hire.
-
Like a spire.
-
Well, today will be the J&H cue-to-cue! And I'm sure it'll be a long day...but fun!
Have a great and productive time!
Thanks, Freddie! It was very productive.

Today is Leonard's Gotcha Day. He was a hungry kitten crying on the patio. We found him after we got home from the hospital when my grandson was born.
Happy Gotch Day to Leonard!
Gotcha!
SPOO!! ...Gotcha Day!

New notes are up.
-
Google's AI has nothing I could find on the above story, but does report this:
"Katharine Hepburn and Stephen Sondheim: The legendary actress and composer lived next door to each other for years in the exclusive Turtle Bay Gardens on Manhattan's East Side. However, they were not on good terms. Hepburn, known for her privacy, reportedly complained about noise from Sondheim's piano playing. Some anecdotal accounts suggest their feuding inspired the song "It's the Witch from Next Door" in Sondheim's musical Into the Woods."
:o
:))
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
Gratuitous Post #203!!
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They're quite readable.
-
I'm up, I'm up - over ten hours of consecutive sleep - hoo and ray.
Very good!
