Well, you've read the notes, the notes had good vibes, and now it is time for you to post until the good vibes cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: UTOPIA!

I was just about to post this last night, but the day got locked. Anyway, here it is:
I haven’t decided what Diane Keaton movie to watch next.
Former DR Edisaurus posted on FB a song that Diane Keaton sang on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. This video is the whole interview. Jump to about 13:10 to see the song:

She was only 26 years old in this clip!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a very restless night. I drove Thatch so crazy thazt he abandoned me to sleep on my computer chair. Annabelle stayed with me and we xuddled the last hour until the alarm rang.
-
Stella has begun licking my books. I don't know if it's the glue or she's trying to educate herself by osmosis. For whatever reason, it seems to be her current obsession.
-
The procrastination continues. Laundry tomorrow, garbage and recyclables today.
-
TOD
I love the gong (tam-tam) although it's used very sparingly.
Tuned percussion: bells, chimes, marimba, vibes
Untuned: bell (mark) tree, temple blocks, maracas
-
Here's a trivia question: what was the first broadway show to use vibes? Who was the orchestrator?

DR Elmore's list works for me! But I'll add xylophone, and (wait for it) -- cowbell.

Terrific clip! Thanks for posting it, George!
-
I guess the quality of her singing makes a lot of sense in terms of the start of her career. She was in HAIR on Broadway before she was famous.
-
Here's a trivia question: what was the first broadway show to use vibes? Who was the orchestrator?
The one guess that comes to mind is West Side Story, but I won't be shocked when you say the first was way earlier than that.

That brought up other singing performances by Diane Keaton. Here she is performing "You Made Me Love You" at 17:05 into this video

Notes booked. Licked.
-
Continued audition vibes for MR BK.
-
I have ordered the extended version of THAT THING YOU DO!
-
I like all percussion instruments.
I especially like the glock here.

-
If that's what it is.
-
I’d be curious to see more of That Thing You Do. I think I’ve seen outtakes, like you learn the manager has a relationship with Howie Long.
-
Discovered Ramses Shaffy recently. Here he performs with a young Liesbeth List, “in Oktober.”

Good morning, all.
-
Another night of weird dreams. I was selling things owned by celebrities that were weirdly being paired off. People wanted to buy things from, say, Sondheim, but they were somehow being pressured to pay $4 more for something from, say, Jose Ferrer. If they didn’t know what to do with the Ferrer item, I would tell them to throw it away. Apparently we had people taking that item out of the trash and reselling it.
-
Bongos, baby, bongos.
-
Sounds lucrative DR JOHN G.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
Were there vibes in Wonderful Town?
-
Oh, and finally - RAIN.
-
Have no idea where my umbrella might be.

That could feel like a nice dream if you're the seller.
-
Oh, and finally - RAIN.
Did someone leave a cake out in the rain, though?
-
Were there vibes in Wonderful Town?
I'm guessing maybe in Swing! or the Dance at the Village Vortex. I don't have a score to check.
-
Thank you twice DR George.
-
George, thanks for the Wordle congrats.

I watched that wonderful clip.
-
Good morning.
-
Not a cloud in the sky today. Cool. But humid. I think we're done with rain for a while. We need to let that water soak into the ground.
-
Grandson got a bike for his birthday. So today Grandpa and I are going out to buy a helmet.
-
Lionel Hampton was a musical contributor to the Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman 1939 Broadway Shakespeare jazz flop, Swingin’ the Dream, so from this we might guess that the show had a vibraphone.

I saw Lionel Hampton once in concert. It was a fundraiser for a small theater in upstate New York. There was a storm beforehand and double rainbows in the sky. Everyone was outside to see the rainbows. Everyone including Hampton. Great day.
-
That’s really cool.
-
Kenny Burrell, an extraordinary jazz guitarist, was on the board of the theater and got Hampton to play.
Trivia: Before he was known, Burrell played in the jazz band in The Nervous Set.
-
Kenny has a really good Christmas LP.
-
Grandson got a bike for his birthday. So today Grandpa and I are going out to buy a helmet.
Great gift. Does he know how to ride a bike or will he be learning once he has a helmet?
-
Back from a nice breakfast and then some errands.
-
Lovely day today weather wise.
-
Stirring from a nap.
-
But almost too hot to move.
-
But not too hot to move us on.
-
A friend gave me a bag of DVDs today.
-
Some titles are good.
-
Others are horror and things like a Mortal Kombat movie.
-
I need to go through them.
-
I also want to make a green grape pie.
-
I have many variations on the recipe.
-
So. Which will it be?
-
Page turn!
-
Three!
-
Back to The Missiles of October. Tense drama, even if the outcome is known.
-
And what a great cast: Howard DeSilva, Harris Yulin, Keene Curtis, Ralph Bellamy, Andrew Duggan, Michael Lerner and so many more.

This looks interesting:
This Little-Known Appeal Could Force Your Insurer to Pay for Lifesaving Care. Here’s How to File It. (https://www.propublica.org/article/health-insurance-denial-external-review)
When a health insurer refuses to pay for your treatment, you may have the right to have the denial reviewed — and potentially overturned — by an independent provider. Here are six steps experts suggest to help you through the external appeal process.

Thank you twice DR George.
George, thanks for the Wordle congrats.
You're welcome twice, Jane. :)

Good afternoon.

Helmet delivered.

:)
-
Page THREE???
-
The holiday is over.
-
Must get off this damn page.
-
Dozed off for about twenty minutes.
-
In forty-five minutes, I shall be on my way to our second night of auditions.
-
My plan, should people show up, is to audition.
-
I find that is a good thing to do at auditions.
-
I tried something new tonight: green grape pie
-
I don’t want to wait to cut into it.
-
But I must.
-
I’m a half hour into The Tourist. I can see why it flopped, but I like little parts here and there. Angelina Jolie has the worst accent.
-
My copy of THAT THING YOU DO@ Extended Version is in the mail.
-
Today I was also thinking about a crazy movie called Invasion....AKA Top Of the Food Chain which made me laugh from beginning to end.
I think I shall see if it's on a streaming service so I can watch it again.
-
At midnight EST on TCM I shall probably watch WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? which also always makes me laugh.
"Well if you run everything, what will I do?" Asks Rita Marlowe [Jayne Mansfield]
"I will handle the day to day operations of Rita Marlowe, Inc - but you will be the titular head of the company!"
You can imagine Jayne's vocal reaction.
-
Tomorrow is getting day.
-
I hope MR BK is having lots of good people auditioning and auditions.
-
So to speak.
-
Not much happening here....or there.
-
But we may be ready for a page turn.
-
YUP!

I had a doctor’s appointment today. Annual checkup. All seems to be okay.

That's great news!
-
I have started a book with a very long title: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out a Window and Disappeared.
So far, it’s not the droll romp one review said it was, but it’s charming.
-
Famous.....although it looks like an obit picture.

Congratulations on being honored on Sunday!
The photo is really nice!
-
JRand a most deserving honoree!
-
Congratulations, JRand.
-
No pie tonight. It’s still too hot.
-
I started Henry & June, which is not quite what I remembered it being.
-
Too hot for pie!
-
John G, is Texas where you are originally from?
-
In the movie I watched yesterday, “Didn’t You Hear?” there was a scene in a little grocery and there were several boxes of forgotten Nabisco products on the shelf (alongside Ritz and Chicken-in-a-Biskit).
Anyone recall Nabisco Triangles? I vaguely recall those.
Nabisco Chippers?
Nabisco Twigs?
Shapies?
Sip n Chips
Flings
Ry Crisps (discontinued in 2015)
-
One I didn’t see was Sociables, which were a family fave.
-
Back from auditions - not many folks, but we saw two I really like but both are in the show before us and wouldn't be available for a single rehearsal until they open on 11/21 - which means, I basically only have them for two weeks before we do the big two week vacation in December - not sure how that's supposed to work. But they sure were good.
-
Stopped at the Coral Cafe and got a tri-salad to go.
-
Eating that now.
-

It's time to get off this page.
-
I managed to get quite a few dishes washed.
-
And I am ready to study my inner eyelids.
-
But we need to get off this page first.
-
But I have nothing to say.
-
Never stopped me before, I know.
-
Blah, blah, blah
-
Page turn!
-
Five!
-
I actually have something to say: I'm glad the Supreme Court let the ruling against Alex Jones stand.
-
We'll see how much he actually pays.
-
Good night, all.
-
If we're talking about things we loved that we remember, snack-wise - bring back Cherry Newtons.
-
Now.
-
Guess I'll write some damn notes.
-
But first, may I just say - page FIVE???
-
Get me off this page.
-
Tri-salad was good - a bit too much, but good.
-
Of course, I finished it.
-
I just pulled a bunch of items for eBay, which I'll put up tomorrow. You will want to check them out - there might just be something that winks at you.
-
Not a cloud in the sky today. Cool. But humid. I think we're done with rain for a while. We need to let that water soak into the ground.
This reminds me of a song that John Bucchino wrote called, "Not a Cloud in the Sky. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GN4A38Y4J9Y)
-
The last line is, "Not a single, f*cking cloud in the sky today."
-
It's not a funny song, though, and has nothing to do with actual weather. But it's a great song.
-
Grandson got a bike for his birthday. So today Grandpa and I are going out to buy a helmet.
Happy (belated) Birthday to Laura's Grandson!

Darn. >:(

It's called "delayed gratification."

Darn. Hopefully, it all works out, BK!
-
Oh, look! It's Page Six!!
-
I actually have something to say: I'm glad the Supreme Court let the ruling against Alex Jones stand.
DITTO!!
-
This is barely page six.
-
This isn't enough of page six to merit mention.
-
It does create tension.
-
It warrants a pension.
-
And ascention.
-
And convention.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.

I wrote them.

Yay
