Well, you've read the notes, the notes were better, and now it is time for you to post until the better cows come home.

And the word of the day is: HOMOLOGATE!

From last night:
~~~Injection (and No Adverse Reaction) Vibes for Jane!!~~~
~~~New Medication Vibes for BK!!~~~
Congrats to Keith's 3-fer Wordle!

And speaking of chiming clocks (BK mentioned something about that last night), my mom has a few clocks that she doesn't want anymore, so I took one home. I don't yet know where to hang it, but I'll find a place. And here it is:
-
It has separate winder gears and keys for the time versus the chime. I don't see a lever or knob or anything (yet?) to turn off the chimes, so I expect that I'll need to run the clock and let the chimes run out and only wind up the clock part. My place is too small to not hear the chimes everywhere...it might be loud enough for the neighbors to hear it. :o I don't know how loud the chimes are. We didn't get home until after 9:00 or so, so that already was to late to test the volume.
-
FYI: it's not very old and was made in Korea...but it's nice enough for me. :)
-
George, those were fun bathroom photos in last night's posts.
-
BK, vibes the new medications work well.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. No dreams that I remember.
-
After my grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes, around 1960, she had to learn how to self-inject her daily insulin. This has been my only knowledge of the procedure, but since that was over sixty years ago, I'd guess the procedure isno longer the same.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
And a fine Tuesday it is, too.
-
A Toosday, as it were.
-
I still don't have a Blueberry Pie with a Crumble Topping.
-
I am bereft.
-
Rain expected today.
-
But not as much rain as Jamaica.
-
Where's Ricardo Montalban when you need him?
-
I need to get hopping.
-
~~~CONTINUED HEALTH VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!
-
singdaw, did you know that the first "Grantchester" vicar James Norton has a leading role in the relatively new streaming series "House of Guinness"?
I guess one might call it "Succession" with beer.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
I have had to give myself weekly injections for my diabetes. Everything is already set up in the pin, which looks like a tube. I place the tube on my stomach, unlock it, hit a button and several seconds later (about 5 or 6), it’s done. I don’t have to measure anything. I don’t have to deal with air bubbles.
-
Slept okay. Had work dreams.
-
I have a zoom meeting with my financial advisor this morning.
-
Then I hope to see Blue Moon.
-
Page turn!
-
Two!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I've never had to self-inject.
(I learned how to administer subcutaneous fluids to a cat, my only claim to being able to use a needle.) :)
-
Like DR CHAS SMITH I have never had to self inject.
And I hope to escape it life goes on.
-
And I hope DR JOHN G liked the extended edition of THAT THING YOU DO! last night.
-
And I hope DR JOHN G liked the extended edition of THAT THING YOU DO! last night.
I only got an hour into it. 90 minutes to go.
-
And, yes, I am enjoying it.
-
They’re screwing around with the Internet connection here. Irritating.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD: I have to self-inject for my psoriatic arthritis and it's super easy, similar to what DR John G described.
-
Tonight I go to see Suffs on its national tour. I'm looking forward to it!
-
Listening to some hurricane coverage. Someone recommended https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qitHKtkqN_w but I'm sure there are plenty of sites or channels covering it.
I cannot even begin to imagine a CAT-5, 180-200-mph hurricane.
-
I will be interested to hear DR MICHAELG's theeder repor on SUFFS.
-
MichaelG - if you see the cast, say hi to Jenna Lea Rosen - she grew up with Kritzerland - did her first show for us at eleven, back in 2011.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Then I hope to see Blue Moon.
I'm so jealous!
-
Enjoy.
-
I got the recording of John Cassavettes’ Opening Night, which should be Rufus Wainwright’s Opening Night, from the library.
-
From DR John:
It was a Paloma. The grapefruit came from a can. The lime wasn’t good. The tequila was mild. They probably used agave nectar. There was something sweet in there.
It sounds terrible, even if you substituted something else instead of grapefruit which I dislike.
-
DR Singdaw, thank you for the health vibes.
-
From Bruce:
I don't know if a neurologist would know about clear lungs. But thankfully, today was a much better day.
I figured being a doctor, yes. I guess that means you weren't checked. I'm glad you are much better today.
-
George, nice photos of your bathroom.
-
DR George, I like your new masks, and how you have hung up your mugs.
-
The masks look prettier in the second photo.
Question for you. Do you pinch the skin on your stomach first or just leave it flat against your skin before pressing?
I started my first injection on my thigh and pinching the skin is not to be done with this injectable. It doesn't clearly state how to do the stomach and I have read mixed things about that. I think I shouldn't pinch.
Bruce, I suggest you find videos of the medication you will be using and watching a few.
-
I enjoyed seeing the photos of DR GEORGE's updated Day-core.
That's another new musical that I haven't heard much from. Hope you enjoy it, Michael!
MichaelG - if you see the cast, say hi to Jenna Lea Rosen - she grew up with Kritzerland - did her first show for us at eleven, back in 2011.
Very cool!
-
And isn't she also in one of Steffan Findle's (sp?) Outside the Box videos? ;D
-
George, nice photos of your bathroom.
Thanks, Jane!
-
It is going to take a little getting used to, though. ::)
-
DR George, I like your new masks, and how you have hung up your mugs.
Thanks, again!
The wood carving is simple and not very detailed, but I really like it.
I enjoyed seeing the photos of DR GEORGE's updated Day-core.
Thanks, Jrand!
-
Topic of the Day: I was prescribed liraglutide (Victoza) instead of metformin. It's a daily injection, unlike Ozempic, which is a weekly injection. I shoot up in my belly with a big pinch.
I looked up the injection pen and it is more like the Foreto, which also needed a pinch, I did for two years.
-
The injection pen DR John is using sounds more like my pen for the Tyenne.
Back from breakfast and many errands and whatnot.
How is the shortness of breath situation today, BK?
Flat, like DR John G.
-
MichaelG - if you see the cast, say hi to Jenna Lea Rosen - she grew up with Kritzerland - did her first show for us at eleven, back in 2011.
I won't be sticking around after the show since it's a long drive back, but I'll look out for her on stage. So cool to know the connection!
-
I got the recording of John Cassavettes’ Opening Night, which should be Rufus Wainwright’s Opening Night, from the library.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts! But it's very much also Ivo van Hove's Opening Night, perhaps even more than Wainwright's. He did the book (based on his play) as well as the over-the-top direction.
-
TOD: I have to self-inject for my psoriatic arthritis and it's super easy, similar to what DR John G described.
Do you pinch your skin first or just press it flat?
Flat, like DR John G.
Thank you. It just feels like I should pinch that area. It helps to know others do not.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I enjoyed Suffs.
-
Good.
-
We might as well get to Page Four.
-
PAGE FOUR!
-
Shortness of breath is present but not horrible.
-
Shortness of breath is present but not horrible.
Sending more healing vibes.
-
Blue Moon was good, but not great. It’s a far, far better movie than It’s De-Lovely. It’s not a musical, though it’s about music and music runs through it.
-
Ethan Hawke is brilliant. There’s an oh such a hungry yearning burning inside of him that you sometimes have to look away. And that may also be its fatal weakness. That much hurt is hard to watch, too hard to watch.
-
The Easter eggs are fun.
-
The production and design are great.
-
I remember that DR LAURA had good things to say about SUFFS.
-
DR JOOHN G I thought you were seeing it at the theeder.
-
DR JOOHN G I thought you were seeing it at the theeder.
Jrand - John G's reply #63 says "No one else in the theater."
-
It is going to take a little getting used to, though. ::)
Oh. Do you not like it as much as you did before?
It's just a lot of "stuff" that wasn't there before. ;)
Is this part of making room for Shelly?
Yup. She decorated the bathrooms.
-
Are you sharing the bathrooms or each having your own?
-
When is Shelly's move in date?
-
Keith got Wordle in five.
-
Are you sharing the bathrooms or each having your own?
Sharing. The downstairs is just a powder room...just a toilet and sink.
-
When is Shelly's move in date?
She moved in already. Now, we're finally just finishing up decluttering and other decorating.
-
Keith got Wordle in five.
Good for Keith!
-
So, I have no power. It went out about three and a half hours ago. Don't know what happened yet.
-
One street over from me has power, but the street on the other side of me, does not have power. The Olympia Airport is also on that non-powered side.
-
Here's the current outage area around me:
-
Fortunately, the other side of the
tracks freeway has power, so I was able to get a few things at Fred Meyer.
-
Now, I'm at home, my phone hooked up to a power bank, playing games on said phone.
-
Lots of changes.
When is Shelly's move in date?
She moved in already. Now, we're finally just finishing up decluttering and other decorating.
I thought all of this was being done before she moved in. I hope you are both adjusting well.
Darn. Did you buy cold or frozen food at Fred Meyer?
-
Crazy.
-
Lazy.
-
Hazy.
-
But I'm up now.
-
For breakfast, had a bacon and cheese omelette.
-
Just ordered a Jersey Mike's Eyetalian sandwich. Regular size. 14 bucks. As opposed to 18 for the similar Subway - and let me tell you, Jersey Mike's is always fresher.
-
I wonder if I'll find a movie for this evening.
-
One I can stay awake through.
-
I think I'm finally done adjusting lyrics for the play.
-
I sure would like to find a leading lady.
-
I sure would.
-
And two boys for the ensemble.
-
So we have a full cast for November 3.
-
So, I have no power. It went out about three and a half hours ago. Don't know what happened yet.
Just some milk that I quickly put in the fridge after getting a bowl of cereal to eat.
Still without power. My sister invited us over, or we could get hot dogs at Costco...or their new Combo Calzone! I've had that and it is good!
Six minutes to sandwich according to Grubhub driver. Grubhub, which we get through Prime, is much better about notifications and letting you know what's what.
-
And they don't seem to send their drivers on crazy routes delivering four other orders before yours.
-
I'm hungry.
Page six.
I'm hungry.
Is there an echo in here?
-
Or a Necco?
-
Or Al Checco?
-
Just ordered more paper for printing - I'm down to the last twenty sheets.
-
I hate when that happens.
Communication is good.
Today's temperature was ninety.
No eBay action today.
Guess I'll check out the movie situation.
Thanks, Jane and Freddie!
singdaw, did you know that the first "Grantchester" vicar James Norton has a leading role in the relatively new streaming series "House of Guinness"?
I did not. I think he is a very good actor.
DR Singdaw, thank you for the health vibes.
You are most welcome!
Exhausted. It was very busy at work today, and my boss was out, so the buck stopped with me.
PAGE SEVEN
-
The last of our new hires starts tomorrow.
-
We refer to each other by first/last initials, but the person joining has the same initials as someone already on the team, so not sure what we're going to do about that.
-
It's nice and cool here. I have the window cracked.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Simon Winchester, John Irving, Margaret Atwood and Salman Rushdie all have books out this fall. Happy.
-
Watching more of That Thing. I hope I can stay awake to finish it. I am enjoying it, but it’s been a long, been a long day.
-
Howie Long was game.
-
I am fading.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
I got through a movie without falling asleep.
-
I count that as a win.
-
One for the Gipper.
-
A C-movie from producers who must have churned five or six of these out a year, maybe more, mostly directed by Edward L. Cahn. This one starred Cameron Mitchell. Nothing we haven't seen before, but some fun shots of 1960 LA.
-
MichaelG - if you see the cast, say hi to Jenna Lea Rosen - she grew up with Kritzerland - did her first show for us at eleven, back in 2011.
She was excellent in the show! She had a couple of male roles in the ensemble, Major Sylvester and Senator Burn. Senator Burn is the one who casts the deciding vote for the 19th amendment, so that "Aye" is an awfully important line.
-
I really enjoyed the show. Maya Keleher was particularly good as Alice Paul, but the whole cast was strong.
-
Jenna also stands by for the lead, Alice. She went on for the first time the other day.
-
Midnight approacheth.
-
Mere minutes away.
-
Minutes, I tell you.
-
What?
-
Could be. Who knows.
-
Guess I'll take the last of the Ny-Quil, then shower, then bed.
-
Gratuitous Post #206!
-
That is the order of things.
-
The time is nigh.
-
We're getting close to Page Eight!
-
It is nigh time.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
Next year is the twentieth anniversary of The Brain from Planet X.
-
Hard to believe.
-
Moments.
-
Twenty YEARS!
-
We did do a ten-year anniversary concert. That was fun.
-
Loads of lovely fun.
-
Fun-plus.
-
Next year is the twentieth anniversary of The Brain from Planet X.
Very cool!
-
I'm gonna put up something very special tomorrow. Someone might want to grab it.
-
Someone just might.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Jenna also stands by for the lead, Alice. She went on for the first time the other day.
That must have been an amazing experience for her! According to her bio, that would be her first lead performance on a national tour. The program book says she also understudies Doris.
