				Well, you've read the notes, the notes took note of an Echo, and now it is time for you to post until the echoing cows come home.

-
				And the word of the day is: GRIMOIRE!

-
				Just did an experiment. For the very first time I microwaved a hot dog. I had no idea you could do such a thing and I was very surprised to see it worked perfectly and was just as good as the broiler and a lot faster. You split the dog a bit with a knife, wrap it in a moist paper towel and put that on a microwave plate and cook for forty-five seconds to a minute. I did a minute and I'd go to a minute-ten because I really like it quite well done. I put it on a bun with some red cabbage and cheese and it was great.

-
				Notes fulfilled. Fathomed.

-
				I think a hot dog was the first thing we ever microwaved when my family got our first microwave.

-
				Cannot imagine the production difficulties and expense for the makers of Echo. Who published it?

-
				The founder of the Village Voice, apparently.

 Here’s we can find what was on all 4 issues, from Steve Allen to Salvador Dali.

				Good morning, all!

-
				I slept poorly: apartment too warm, leg pains, and other issues. I had a lot of dreams, none of which I now remember.

-
				I do not know from ONE magazine but of course now I am intrigued.

-
				I know I said this earlier in the week - but actually today MUST be a getting day.....I have not gone in two weeks....and the cupboards are bare.

 You may now kiss the choirboys.....

 Uh....You may now kiss.  The choirboys will now sing Ava Maria.....
-
				Today of course the veil is thinnest between the physical and spiritual worlds and so communication sought and otherwise may be in the air.

 Be open.
-
				I hope DR singdaw's appt. is going well this morning.

-
				Leaving in about ten minutes....and it is still DARK.

-
				The pair of keets were confused about being uncovered in the "middle of the night."

-
				Last night I watched Burn, Witch, Burn. I hadn't seen it in several years, but I wanted to watch something for Halloween. Peter Wyngarde may have been the ove of Alan Bates, but I found him a rather ugly leading man.

-
				I have two important telephonic calls today. I look forward to neither.

-
				I love Nuggie!

				Good morning, all.

-
				Good morning, all.

-
				Back at work. Tuesday I have to be here by 6. That’s a.m.

-
				A happy Halloween to the lot o' ye!

-
				Trick or Treat, and all that jazz!

-
				I hope DR singdaw's appt. is going well this morning.

 More lab tests vibes for singdaw.
-
				I, too, watched Burn, Witch, Burn last night, on TCM. Sadly, I didn't stay awake through all of it. I'd watched Curse of the Demon before that, and prior to that I DVR'd Nightmare, a 1964 movie I can't say I've ever seen, so I look forward to having a look at that one soon.

 I so wish Jacques Tourneur had had his way with not showing that damned demon. What a beautiful film, otherwise.
-
				I, too, have to do a bit of getting today - just a few things at the grocery store and a prescription at Walmart.

-
				I have two important telephonic calls today. I look forward to neither.

 Hoping the calls go better than you expect!

 Sounds so interesting!  Thanks for the link.

				This is the first I've heard of that ECHO magazine. What a discovery! I would have been all over seeking those out if I'd known about them before now. I shan't go for it at this point, but I'm glad BK will have the set and I look forward to hearing more about them.

 I'm familiar with that type of format, but I believe the only things I ever had along those lines were the three National Geographic issues with the tear-out record pages. I have mint copies of those, and I believe I still have a smaller book-like one they issued with one of their earlier books on birds.

 Anyway, that was a known thing to do back in the late 50s, early 60s, very likely some of it for advertising purposes, and now I gotta wonder how many such examples of it there are. I just know ECHO would have been right up my alley. What a wonderful period artifact.

				Halloween morning greetings!  We’re in Chicagoland for grandson George’s baptism on Sunday.  We came early enough to help get ready for the festivities and to enjoy trick or treat tonight with Charlotte and Hannah.

-
				For this visit we’re staying in a hotel a couple of miles from the kids’ house.  The other grandparents arrived last night and an aunt & uncle will also be here and they’re all staying with them.

 Have a great time and congratulations, Ginny!
-
				Good morning, friends.

-
				And others.

-
				My doctor didn't yell at me.

-
				There is a lot of room for improvement, but things are moving in the right direction.

-
				What fun, DR Ginny! Enjoy your family time.

-
				Travel and visit vibes for DR GINNY.

-
				Thanks for the ECHO link DR RODZINSKI.

-
				Glad to hear that DR singdaw didn't get yelled at by Doc Adams....or whoever it is.

-
				Things gotten and extra things gotten as well.

 I did buy a small bag of treats in case I get some ghosts and goblins this evening.

 If not I will have to force myself to eat them as time goes by.
-
				Now I want a copy of a BK-produced CD featuring Lauren Bacall.

-
				BURN WITCH BURN is interesting.....but I am concerned and annoyed that Janet Blair wears her broaches on the right side of her dresses.

 NIGHTMARE was okay and worth a look.
-
				I watched IT! last night. And I thought Roddy McDowell actually did a good job. He annoys me in a lot of movies....and there were two very nice looking English gentlemen playing a policeman and a museum manager from the US.

 And there was a golem....which is always interesting to see.
-
				Echo sounds intriguing.

-
				~~~IMPORTANT ENVELOPE VIBES~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!
				Looks like producer Scott Rudin had returned to Broadway in triumph.
 https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/30/theater/little-bear-ridge-road-review-metcalf.html
 CRITIC’S PICK
 "Laurie Metcalf Is Riveting in ‘Little Bear Ridge Road’
 The playwright Samuel D. Hunter makes his Broadway debut with an addition to his Idaho oeuvre, set during the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath."
 From the Times review:
 "Its transfer declares the Broadway resurrection of the exiled-for-a-while producer Scott Rudin. (Allegations of bullying in 2021 led to widespread denunciations.) And honestly? Everything about this impeccable production, presented by Rudin and the media mogul Barry Diller, exudes the nearly flawless taste that Rudin is famous for."
-
				BK had success microwaving a hot dog. That's good to know, because I wouldn't have thought of doing it. I'll try it and see how it goes.
 Maybe I posted this, but I did recently add baked potatoes in the microwave to my bag of tricks, and I love them. They are positively delicious, and we're talking a ten-minute job here.
-
				DR Ginny, I will always love Chicagoland.
 If you told us, I forget which area(s) your activities are centered around there.
-
				My haunts were the northwest suburbs (I lived in Schaumburg) and West Chicago and St. Charles out at the Fox River, but I explored the central part of the city and more in my all too short stay there. Loved it all.
 It was really worth sticking around for the outtakes on the end of that video!
-
				I'm getting close to 13,000 posts.
-
				Can I time it with a page 3 page turn?
-
				Could be!
-
				13,000!
 Hoping someone can preserve it.
				DR ChasSmith, we are in Wheaton, not far from the areas you mentioned.  It’s becoming quite familiar to us, now that the kids have been here for almost 6 years.
-
				I love Chicago itself, but haven’t been into the city since the 2017 American Library Association conference in 2017.
-
				Here it is!
-
				Oh, I definitely remember Wheaton, and any number of those towns!
-
				DR Kevin, thanks for the congrats to Keith and good getting a five.
-
				From DR George:
 And the jar is made of glass!
 Not only is glass better for recycling, I don't think things taste as good in plastic.
-
				I think a hot dog was the first thing we ever microwaved when my family got our first microwave.
 ;D
 Awww.  Monday should be easier for them.
 Thank you so much for preserving that, Chas!
 Baked potatoes is one item I never care for in a microwave.
 Congratulations DR Freddie!
-
				DR Vixmom said to please give her apologies to the HHW folks that she has been absent.  Her mother is not doing well and will be returning home on Saturday.  Her brother will be staying with her mother to take care of her :(
 Yes, DR Jane.  It’s more comfortable, but pretty costly.
-
				Sending hugs and good vibes to DR Vixmom and her family.
-
				I'm very sorry to hear of Vixmom's mom's difficulties. That's not the news we want to hear. HUGE VIBES going her way.
 Congratulations DR Freddie!
-
				Congrats to DR FREDDIE on his millstone.  :D
-
				I always broil my dogs - but for the leftovers - a bit of time in the microwave and it's like they just jumped out of the oven.
-
				I got a cherry pie on the yellow sticker rack.
 I shall be having some later today. I have Cool Whip - so at last my pie is complete.
-
				There was a lot of sturm und drang at Steppenwolf with Laurie championing that scumbag and many people who did not want him anywhere near the place. Quite a behind the scenes battle.
-
				Massive early posting numbers today.
-
				I dressed as Jinu from K-Pop Demon Hunters to accompany my daughter, as “Rimi,” to school.
				Good morning.
-
				It's not quite noon here yet.
-
				I told the preacher this morning that the best way to tell neighbors about church is to wear earbuds and carry a bag of orange lights.
-
				I brought home my strings of orange lights we used at the Trunk or Treat. They seemed to be quite interesting to neighbors.
-
				Plus, earbuds seem to make people want to talk to you.
				I think my first microwaving was just "warming things up", not necessarily "cooking" anything. But I then tried a few simple recipes from those early microwave cookbooks. Couldn't tell you now what they were. But I liked them.
 Very funny!
-
				Back at work. Tuesday I have to be here by 6. That’s a.m.
 Yikes! :o
-
				And believe it or not, when I said the orange lights were from Trunk or Treat last weekend, they asked what kind of church it was. I didn't bring it up. So I was able to give a brief synopsis.
-
				Our T/T times tonight are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
 Or as I will do it 5 p.m. until the candy runs out.  8)
-
				So Dale Carnegie should have used earbuds and orange lights.
-
				I have my monkey costume out and will put it on about 4:50 p.m.
-
				I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of good sleep.
-
				The good thing about the records in Echo are you don't tear them out.
-
				Last year I tucked a few potatoes among the candy, and I was surprised that kids were excited to choose a potato.
-
				I think it was a bit TOO unique for the public at that time.
-
				So my DH picked up 15 pounds of potatoes yesterday. They are really huge ones. So not as many as you'd think.
-
				Had two chili, cheese, and onion microwaved dogs - great they were.
-
				When I regularly made my macaroni & cheese I would bake half that night and put the other half in a corning ware dish, without the top layer of cheese, and freeze it.  The morning I wanted the second half I would take it out of the freezer to thaw, top with cheese in the evening and bake it.
-
				Plus I put out stuff that my Grandson has outgrown. I gave away all the baby board books at Trunk or Treat last week. But I do have a number of little construction vehicles. And sidewalk chalk. And some Beanie Babies. And such as.
-
				The Tommy's chili is a bit spicy but good.
-
				One time I forgot to take it out of the freezer and mentioned the fact to a neighbor.  She said to take it to her house to partially cook it in her microwave.
-
				A few days later I purchased my first microwave oven.  That was probably about 43 years ago.
-
				As soon as I got up I had to call PayPal. I got a notice last night after midnight saying a case had been decided in favor of the buyer because I hadn't responded.
-
				Responded to WHAT? Never got anything about it or of course I would have responded. I get lots of PayPal sales notices five days late. But they will never admit it's them.
-
				And believe it or not, when I said the orange lights were from Trunk or Treat last weekend, they asked what kind of church it was. I didn't bring it up. So I was able to give a brief synopsis.
 You really did get the results you wanted :)
-
				I called them and told them I'd never received it and he said it showed that not only had I received it, I'd opened it. Well, no. I don't nuke anything ever from PayPal and there was nothing from them about this.
-
				I have my monkey costume out and will put it on about 4:50 p.m.
 Fun.
 Clever idea for Halloween.
 :(
-
				Anyway, he said while the money had been taken from my account it was still on hold. So, I provided him with all the tracking info - overseas order, currently sitting in customs in France for the past twenty days. I think we all know what THAT is about. Nothing we can do about it, certainly. Anyway, he instantly appealed, the appeal was granted and money is back in my account.
-
				So, that's done. One of the boys we cast turned us down - too long a drive. Well, idiot boy, why did you DO the drive and audition? Maybe he thought there was pay even though it was stated clearly there wasn't.
-
				Time for pills.
-
				The good thing about the records in Echo are you don't tear them out.
 Right!
 But I agree, probably too unique, in spite of records being the world's daily fare.
-
				Pills taken.
-
				Two more to go.
-
				The Tommy's chili was definitely the spiciest I ever had. It made a cheeseburger spicy even when you didn't have them add one of their very hot chili peppers, whatever kind they were.
 (I made that mistake one of my first times at Tommy's. I was ON FIRE, and I didn't know that drinking a lot of Pepsi was not the way to put it out. Not that there was anything else available. It was rather alarming for a few minutes.)
