Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a lot of sound and fury signifying sound and fury, and now it is time for you to post until the perfect cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROGRESS!
-
Yesterday DR Jane asked "Do you agree with most singers?" about being able to sing Don't Think Twice, It's Alright better than Dylan. Yes, I do, if they're good singers, like the Indigo Girls version. But I should probably listen to a few more versions to be sure.
-
So much fun hearing about the concert last night, John G!
-
Legal advice is quite a marvelous perk in a benefits package, singdaw!
-
Larry, I noticed your label Joy Machine is also doing Jack Viertel's show LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL, which Laura saw in Phoenix this past summer, with its pre-Broadway concept CD. Maybe the two CDs could do some joint publicity for both.
-
George, congratulations on how well your J&H closing weekend is going!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I got a lotta sleep last night. I have oner clock to adjust today, and after kitty cleanup I have no plans for the day.

I don't consider Joy Machine my label! They are now releasing it, but there have been way too many plot twists since it was recorded in April 2017. I've wanted it released in hopes that it will stir up interest in performing the show, and I may make some money off productions. I'm really bummed that the photos of my dad's family that went into the recording booklet may never be seen unless there's a commercial CD release. Maybe the booklet is available as a download? I have too much anger over the bungling of what should have been a simple release eight years ago.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Strange dreams, but I did sleep all the way through the night.
-
Fun reading BK's thoughts on The Sound of Music.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Why do I feel as if I lost an hour’s sleep?

Today is my sister Annaliese’s birthday.

Today is my sister Annaliese’s birthday.
Happy birthday, Annaliese!
-
Congrats to MR BK on his millstone.
-
I think former DR PANNI wrote that tv movie about Amelia Earhart that featured Susan Clark.
-
Happy Birthday to the sister of DR JOHN G.
-
Closing day vibes to DR GEORGE & Co.

DR LAURA may I suggest a couple of Connie Francis songs and of course The Bolero.

Good morning, all.
-
The clock said something other than what I'm used to this morning, but I still felt like I needed hours more sleep.
-
Notes beamed. Teamed.

We saw THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the Circle Theatre in Indy (I think).....it may have been the Loew's Theatre......
I was wrong. It was at the Lyric Theatre. MY FAIR LADY was at the CIRCLE and WHAT'S NEW, PUSSYCAT was at the Loew's.
Betty Hutton was onstage at the Avondale Playhouse in MARY, MARY.
-
Thanks, Newspapers.com
-
There was a shooting in a bar in downtown Indy last night and FOX59 reports one man was shot in the fracas.
-
Anatomy book, please.
-
Page Two.....I guess a dictionary is more appropriate.
-
The fracas is the part of the chicken they use to make chicken fracasee.
-
I am very sad to read about Anna. Last we communicated, in 2019, she was happily living in San Diego near Rachel and her grandchildren. She had also been acting again.
-
DR John, I'm glad you found your energy and had a great evening.
-

Thank you for responding. No that I am surprised by your opinion. I personally have not compared them.

Today is my sister Annaliese’s birthday.
Happy birthday to Annaliese!
-
Congratulations, BK, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the DS of DR John G.!!!
-
Thanks DR RODZINSKI.

Happy Sunday with an extra hour of sleep.... on the new episode Broadway Radio Show, I chat with author & podcast host Kristin Stultz Pressley (aka Dr Broadway) about her new book Pulitzer Prize-Winning Musicals. A deep dive into the 10 musicals that have won the coveted award, the book is part of the new Essential Musicals series from Bloomsbury Publishing. Kristin and I have a fun, informative conversation about the history of the Pulitzer Prize and then a closer look at 3 of the winning musicals... check it out!

I think former DR PANNI wrote that tv movie about Amelia Earhart that featured Susan Clark.
My favorite movie of hers was Miss Rose White with Kyra Sedgwick, Maximilian Schell, and Amanda Plummer. I saw this in 1992 when it first aired.

Thanks DR FREDDIE.
Oh her Earhart movie starred Diane Keaton.....
-
Good choice DR JANE.

There was an attempted breakout at a prison and a newspaper reported that a deputy was shot in the excitement.
-
Spent some time finishing The Reivers. Faulkner should have written more comedies. This was as delightful as As I Lay Dying was acerbic. Both are two of my favorites of his.
-
Next up is We’ll Prescribe You Another Cat, a sequel to book I really enjoyed.
-
Oh.....As I Lay Dying......I read it in one sitting......oh my.....still one of the best TITLES in the history of books.

An oatmeal pie is in the oven. It needed a regular crust. I used deep dish. It kinda looks like it’s hiding. I guess whipped cream will help.

I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep, and yet only seven and a half hours of sleep, apparently. I had no idea clocks were going backwards today.
-
No wonder I'm hungry.
-
Must order food. Was interested in pastrami sandwich but thirty bucks plus fees and tip - too damn much money.

John, I'm waiting for the photo after it is baked.
That was the baked version. Yes, very low in a deep-dish crust. I’m going to use whipped cream to fill it. Chocolate ganache would also be good.
-
Watching the end if The Beat That My Heart Skipped. Silly me to get so invested in this character when it can’t help but end badly.
-
Well, the movie didn’t end the way I thought. It’s even more devastating. By the way, the movie is a loose remake of James Toback’s Fingers, which I have always wanted to see.
-
I guess whipped cream will help.
Truer words... :)
-
DR JOHN G I have never heard of EITHER of those movies. I am obviously a heathen.

My favorite addition by Ernest Lehmen to THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
Elsa: Why didn't you tell me.

Had an Eyetalian submarine sandwich from a legendary Burbank jernt, Giamela's. First time - fantastic sandwich and boy does a real one of these put Subway and Jersey Mike's and all fast-food sub places to shame. It was also HUGE. Photo coming in the notes.

I enjoyed the notes about The Sound of Music, BK. I saw it at my local movie theater a few weeks ago for its 60th Anniversary. I hadn't seen it in quite a few years and really loved it.
-
Today I saw Back to the Future (40th Anniversary!) on the IMAX screen. It was fun to see it again.
-

I did as well.

Today I saw Back to the Future (40th Anniversary!) on the IMAX screen. It was fun to see it again.
A nice way to see it :)
-
I've never seen a stage version of The Sound of Music. When my sister gave me the album for Christmas the year it was released I wasn't excited about it, until I began listening to it. When the movie came out I was excited to see it, yet I never imagined how absolutely wonderful it would be.
-
I haven't seen the staged version. A couple local groups have done it recently but both were during opera runs where we don't have much time or energy to see other shows.
-
We watched it again a few years ago with my cousins on Thanksgiving and I really liked it. Before that I hand't seen it since it came out. It was everything that bk said in the notes, except this was an old transfer, maybe even a DVD, so not as glorious visually.
-
Glad to hear that everything is ready for week one of rehearsals!
-
We just got back from a long weekend in Dry Creek Valley wine country which was great fun.
-
It sounds like you had a lovely long weekend.
-
And now, I need to get ready for the final performance and strike! A few of us are going out after strike, so that'll be fun. :D
Until later!
It's done...and "a few of us" didn't go out, which is fine.
-
Pill two taken at five.
-
It doesn't seem like seven o'clock. It seems like eight o'clock.
-
We struck the set, and I helped mostly with the props.
-
Then I helped with the set, which was just scaffolding with a lot of lights and Henry's chair and lab, which were both on wagons.
-
Easy-peasy.
-
Then, people just scattered to the winds and I hied myself to the Centralia Quiznos, where I had a large Baja sandwich on their rosemary-parmesan bread. Delish!
-
I just finished half of it and will save the other half for a late dinner after I get home.
-
I think I have seen Sound of Music on stage more than a dozen times. Maybe even more than 20. Almost all have been community productions, some good, some lazy.
-
My friends Shelly and Margo saw the show today, as well as my mom and Dee, this woman who plays Phase 10 with us on Fridays.
-
Done with dancing tonight.
-
Did they enjoy it, George?
-
Paid $2.21 for gas tonight.
-

I've only seen it once on stage when I was going to Centralia College. I barely remember anything about it.
-
Tomorrow morning, I usher for a performance of Black Violin for students. Should be fun.
-
I used to review theater.
-
Did they enjoy it, George?
Shelly and Margo did. My mom and Dee left without coming to the concessions area to see us after the show. I don't know why.

I don't want to list this on eBay for various reasons, but I will offer it here. When Harvey Schmidt was in the midst of doing the cover painting for Benjamin Kritzer, I was salivating daily to see something. He sent me a rendering of the marquee that appears in the final painting. Pure Harvey and of course it was signed by him - not a Xerox signature - he signed it personally. I used that in one of the Indiegogo campaigns. This one was sent by Dan Shaheen, who runs Harvey's estate - it's also hand-signed and framed and I think Harvey kept it as a backup. There were only ever two of these. If you love it, private message me an offer. I'm thinking the Indiegogo one went for around three hundred and I'm pretty sure that wasn't framed, actually. Can't remember, though.
-
I bought the other on Indiegogo. I don’t remember the price, but it wasn’t framed. It is now and is on display in my home.
-
Beautiful.
-
Good night, all.
-
I knew someone here had gotten it.
-
Was watching a movie after watching a documentary - but I think I'll finish the movie anon.
-
I have to shave and shower and I want to be up by ten to go do banking and stuff.
-
Had some won ton soup and a side of fried rice and pill three is done. Just the right snack. The little side of fried rice at 3.20 is the bargain of all time.

I'm very happy with Harvey's 12 Red "Ds" and all the alternate Colette Collage cover artwork. I do wish the original version was part of the set. I assume that Harvey's estate has that.
