Well, you've read the notes, the notes were easy and listened, and now it is time for you to post until the easy listening cows come home.

DR ChasSmith, yes, the North Carolina School of the Arts under the John Mauceri reign of terror prodced that wonderful Oklahoma! restoration. The production's Curly, Kyle Guglielmo, played one of the Collegians on my recording of Roberta. He's now married with children and living in Canada, I believe. We emailed a couple of months ago. He's one of the best.

The ballet meeting went well. Doug and I have to deliver our full score and orchestra parts to North Carolina by Dec. 1, 2026. My initial request was for 14 players: string quintet (5), woodwind quartet (4), trumpet, trombone, horn (3), harp, and percussion.

If the ballet performances - ours is one item on the program - are tied in with the school's orchestra concert, then we could increase the number of strings from five to 21 (6 Violin 1, 4 Violin 2, 4 Viola, 4 Celli, 3 Basses), giving us a total of 30 musicians.

Today, I must speak to the dreadful homecare folk and see if we can resolve this mess. I also want to cook Italian sausages with onions and pepper, and I need to look over the orchestra scores from my new student Ben for our session tomorrow.

Speaking of homecare, I was in the kitchen cleaning up the cats' breakfast dishes when my right knee gave out and I suddenly fell to my right. I ended up lying on top of a collapsing rolling cart holding the coffee supplies and wedged between the sink and the door that closes off my pullman kitchen. To My right arm was useless since it was wedged in the sink. While all this was going on, I was trying to find either some way to either stop the slide down or to clear space so I would not be injured if I fell into the small space between my walker and my cane that was hanging off the stove. I succeeded and landed on my knees on the floor. I then had to crawl to the living area where I could raise myself back up to a standing position. Then, I very shakily changed clothes since I was soaking wet.

Some days I really hate my existence.

While all this was going on, Annabelle kept screaming, and I was afraid she'd been injured in the mess. She wasn't, and I now think she was panicking because of my screams for help.

We are currently half way through the excellent four part series Death by Lightening.

:...dramatizes the stranger-than-fiction true story of 20th U.S. President James Garfield, and admirer Charles Guiteau, who assassinated him."

That does sound interesting!

I just had to schedule four WEEKS of an IV drip for this new thing my neurologist wants me to try. I did but what a pain in the ASS it is. Supposed to start next week, however, after reading the possible side effects, I'm gonna have to have a conversation with the doctor and maybe not start this until after The Altruist opens.

Bruce, will the doctor do the infusions in the office or send you to an infusion center (I gather at Cedars)?

I had infusions in Ashland at a nice little location where I was the only person in the room.  When we moved here I was surprised to find that the infusions were in a large room with mostly cancer patients.

Information you might want before your first infusion to know what to expect.

Just saw this post on Facebook from Jimmy Webb:

On November 11, 1978 - 47 years ago today - Donna Summer’s version of MacArthur Park reached #1, giving both Donna and composer Jimmy Webb a #1 song on the American pop charts (Billboard Hot 100)

The single, Donna's vinyl disco version of the song, from Donna's album Live & More had had become a multi-million selling chart topper. It stayed at #1 for 3 weeks and earned Donna her first nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. She became the first female artist of the modern era to have the number one single and album simultaneously on the Billboard pop charts.

Malted milk shakes figure quite prominently in a key plot turn in the first episodes of the series ALL HER FAULT.

So far (we're though episode 3), there are enough twists and turns to make it interesting and even support a possible claim for whiplash - enough to really want to know what happens, but we weren't tempted to binge-watch.

Rehearsal was good and I blocked the entire sixteen-page ending of the show, but not the four songs - happily, I have blocked those already and have a video of what we did. We have to make some track adjustments, too, to accommodate the staging. That's a big chunk and we'll definitely get all the songs done for that sequence and I think we'll even have time to drill it several times.

I wrote a poor eBay idiot a scathing response earlier. He's been messaging me about the last of the Kiki's cels and I was super nice and obliging as he kept asking question after question, asking for more photos, wanting to be sure it was real, did I have this, did I have that - I wasted a ton of time with him giving him everything he asked for or at least answering his endless questions. He asked me if anyone had made an offer yet and I said no, but that eight people had it in their cart - that wasn't correct, it was a mistaken assumption when it was just that eight people were interested potential buyers - same exact thing, really. He then accused me of lying and that there were only five interested buyers and no one had it in their cart and the only way I could see these things was the way everyone else could, by going to the item page.
Title: Re: EASY LISTENING
Post by: bk on November 11, 2025, 11:27:44 PM
Total BS. I have a seller page in which I can see everything - how many views, how many interested buyers, all of it. I wrote him back and told him I found his tone offensive, that I'd been nothing but gracious with him. He'd gone on and on how there were similar cels for the same price. I said show 'em to me. Of course, he can't. I mentioned the Heritage Auction prices and he said Heritage was a sham.I then realize I'm having a discussion with someone who clearly has a chunk of their brain missing.
Title: Re: EASY LISTENING
Post by: bk on November 11, 2025, 11:30:14 PM
I told him to go buy one of the other ones for what I'm charging even though they don't exist. Yes, there are some cels at that price, but none like mine. The ones like mine are going from 5 to 10K. He said he was still sort of interested and that he'd think about it more. I told him that under no circumstances would I sell it to him and to go and bother someone else.
