I slept rather well until 4:30 or so. After I checked the clock and realized I had 90 minutes before the aarm rang, I spent the time dozing and cuddling with Thatch and Annabelle. At one point, Thatch wandered off to the litter box, the kibble boel, whatever, but after a loud scream and some hissing from Stella, he ran back to bed.

Alarming moments with cats who love each other do happen. I remember a couple of times with my first two girls, Muffin and Taffy, sisters. If one just happens to alarm the other at a weird moment, it's like one suddenly doesn't know who the other one is, and goes into defense mode. One time happened when Muffin was intently watching the squirrels or birds out the window and Taffy suddenly poked her the wrong way. This, I remember after 30 years? Yep.

I wonder what that could have been in the Jersey Mike's sandwich with just cold cuts. Doesn't matter, of course, since once you're grossed out, you're grossed out.

Couple of years ago I was put off by a piece of gristle in a Marie Callender's chicken pot pie. It so grossed me out that I discontinued getting the chicken ones completely.

There was even time before breakfast for Keith to cover my healing wounds after I cleaned them and put the antibiotic ointment on them.

The one on my arm from the surgery, that needed the stitched removed that did not disolve, is looking much much better and not so ugly.

The one on my hand that had the double spray to zap what is probably skin cancer is beginning to look better.

Fortunately I treated them before they became infected.

Laura, regarding this quote:
"So you want to wash your hands? Or, like me, I want to wash my hair. I lather up. And I turn that … there's no water. The water's, drip. They call it. They put a restrictor on. I won't mention the third item in the bathroom because I always get criticized. I used to mention that but I don't mention it anymore, because you know what I … I think you do. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you shouldn't be owning a McDonald's franchise. You wouldn't do well even with a McDonald's franchise."

I assume the third item in that bathroom is the toilet.  Or am I wrong?

As to rules about when to let the author see a rehearsal - the only time I keep them away is when I'm blocking and working with the actors. That is OUR time - to play, to experiment, to try things and throw them out, and not be inhibited by people sitting there watching that process. Once we're past that, which we will be after tonight, hopefully, he can come watch as much as he likes.

I really loved Hamnet. It was a pandemic novel that came out during the pandemic. Some of it was truly brutal and beautiful at the same time. The scene where a body is prepared for burial had me tear up.

Yes I think DR LAURA's post was from a very stable genius who is now negotiating a big peace agreement now that will make the world a better place.

The Noel Coward recording just used was written about 10 years after the setting of the movie. And though he’s singing, the song, I’m Old Fashioned, was written by Jerome Kern. Nitpicking, to be sure.

The Queen of Versailles is closing.

The last performance is January 4. This is why I wanted to see all these shows in November soon after opening. Of the three musicals I saw, this was the clear candidate to close the earliest.

:) But what is the third item in that bathroom that he's been so careful about not mentioning?  He said "I won't mention the third item in the bathroom because I always get criticized."

Does he mean the toilet?

I had a fun book discussion with my group this evening.  All but one liked the book which was nice since I picked it.  We read The Secret Book Society by Madeline Martin.

I was too tired to pick a book and chose it since it was the next book in my library queue and I like the author ;D  While I liked it, I prefer other books I have read by her.
