Well, you've read the notes, the notes were bastardized, and now it is time for you to post until the bastardized cows come home.

And the word is: ALCHEMY!

Well, this is really cool:
These Criterion Blu-rays Secretly Include Entire Extra Movies… (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kT1iOz3JB9o)
Some Criterion Collection releases include a complete second feature film hidden away in the supplements — and a lot of collectors don’t even know they own them. In this video, I’m going through the editions that quietly deliver double the value: a full bonus movie that isn’t the main attraction on the cover.
:)

Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, but the cats, most especially Annabelle, were restless.
-
I have much to accomplish this morning. Around 11:00 my friend Chris, who's one of the producers on the current revival of Ragtime, is coming by. We haven't visited in over a year, so I'm looking forward to the visit. I'm going to give him a copy of Annabelle & Thatch, snd he's going to deliver another copy of the book to Keanu Reeves, who is currently starring in Waiting for Godot on Broadway.
-
Before then, I have a bit of tidying up, as well as a trip to the basement.

Yesterday, Criterion emailed me their December releases, and I noticed that the rerlease of His Girl Friday inclues the earlier film version of The Front Page.

That's so interesting to realize that this RAGTIME has other commercial producers besides Lincoln Center Theater, letting them do such a full production and have a financial Broadway success, it seems.
Great news about getting your book circulated in such great circles, Larry!
-
George, thanks for that "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" video you linked last night!

How did I never hear this Joan Rivers gossip?
From The Howard Stern Show in 2012 -
Joan Rivers Had a One-Night Stand With Robert Mitchum

I watched both recently. I love Criterion.

Good morning, friends.

And others.
-
I have nothing to report.
-
Interesting links from DR George. Thank you!
-
BK, you didn't say in the Notes, but I'm hoping your banking issues was resolved successfully.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm back from rehearsal #1. In a couple of hours I'll be returning for rehearsals #2 and #3. And then I'll be returning for the concert this evening.
-
Thank you for the link to that video, DR George.
I LOVE extra features on DVDs/Blu-rays, and have always enjoyed acquiring such releases. I mean, as long as the movies are anything I care enough about to own in the first place. I will watch that video in just a bit to see if there's anything I haven't already known about.
-
That's excellent news on the book recipients, DR Elmore.
-
Thank God the irritating Giving Tuesdays is over. I received over 250 emails yesterday, all wanting money.
-
250!!???
And I bitch about it when I get a dozen...
-
The extra features feature is great, but be sure to check the comments. In addition to those ten releases, people have identified other Criterions that he doesn't talk about in the video.
-
I'm getting a lot of posts about the near-nudity in the gay hockey drama HEATED RIVALRY - so maybe "Ass Wednesday" is under way.
:)
-
I can't figure out what day of the week a new episode of Heated Rivalry drops....so I'll keep looking.
Ass Wednesday would be a good day.
-
As I have written elsewhere on the internet - the producers of the new revival of Death of a Salesman starring Nathan Lane & Laurie Metcalfe as Willie & Linda have asked the Miller estate if they can include a new final line.
Linda: He's fine. He sends his love.
-
Having an organized assistant is crucial for a director.
I can only guess that the folks who are driving their feet have never directed a show.

When I was younger - MANY years ago.....banks were not allowed to have branches outside their county boundaries.
The in the late 1970's that law was changed. A few big banks tried to take over the industry EVERYWHERE.
For myself, since high school I have banked with Citizens Bank and have had a couple of problems but for the most part we've done all right.
-
Having an organized assistant is crucial for a director.
Either the best stage manager around or the best assistant around. Preferably both, but take your pick. It's incredible that those folks are so out of touch or simply blind to this.
-
Good morning.
-
Bruce, I'm sorry the show has become so stressful and difficult.
-
DR George, Bruce, anyone with issues,
Taking one of these every morning might help.

WTF? I suppose Scott Rudin feels he knows more than the playwright.
"He's fine. He sends his Love" is Laurie Metcalf's line at the end of this moment from ROSEANNE.

Thanks DR FJL I thought it was common knowledge.....no it isn't a true fact about the new production of the play.

I had a nice visit with my friend Chris. He has a very short bio in the Ragtime Playbill.

That sounds lovely. I hope it is.

I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep, up at eleven-thirty.
-
Food arrived at that time.
-
Ate and have been catching up ever since and now rehearsal is in thirty minutes.
-
I survived day two. The elementary kids were sweet. I had lunchroom duty, which was loud but mostly fun. I had to peel a lot of really green bananas for the first graders.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! Just got home from spending the afternoon in Springboro with my friend Sue. We ate at Heather’s and shopped at a couple of the cute places on Main Street.

Having an organized assistant is crucial for a director.
Director’s assistant was my favorite community theatre job when DR Elmore was the director.

Santa, I ain’t asking for much.

-
Well, I am off to play a short choral concert.
-
Is "short" music to your ears?
-
Or is music short to your ears?
-
Well, in any case...
-
Glad you survived lunch duty, DR John G.
-
I would hope that first graders would be sweeter (and not yet as jaded) as middle schoolers.
-
Most people don't know that the first draft of "Peel Me a Grape" was "Peel Me a Green Banana."
-
I survived day two. The elementary kids were sweet. I had lunchroom duty, which was loud but mostly fun. I had to peel a lot of really green bananas for the first graders.
Sweet. Did you teach them the upside down trick to peel the bananas?

Kritzerland rehearsal was lots of fun.

Now to relax but NOT fall asleep until I leave in two hours.

Today my wonderful rheumatologist sent a message that she will be leaving the practice in February :(
-
I originally had a referral to a different doctor, one that I requested and that my primary likes, and made an appointment with him today to establish myself as his patient.
-
I figure best to do it now before he gets too busy for new patients.
-
I will still see my current doctor next week.

I have a friend, a retired defense lawyer, who begins reading the news at 4:30am every morning. By 7:30 she posts a very intellengent opinion on Facebook, often crediting other sourcesI am familiar with. I also enjoy reading her calm debates with those that don't agree with her opinions.
Today she had this to say in addition to her longer post.
"And why are people upset that Trump keeps falling asleep in meetings. I’m upset that he keeps waking up."
;D

That was how I peeled them. But some were so green, there was a middle peel.

You’re supposed to peel from the bottom.

Watching Crazy Stupid Love for the first time since it came out. It’s really better than I remember.

I hate it when that happens...and it's happened to me twice this year! :P

First, my first PA at the medical center that I go to, and now my (fairly new, but still) dermatologist is leaving.
