Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the coughing and blowing routine continuously, and now it is time for you to post until the coughing and blowing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INDEFATIGABLE!
-
George, I really was fascinated by the Forward-slash vs. Back-slash implications. I almost never actually type either; they usually come along in things I cut-and-paste.

There's a new episode, episode 5, of HEATED RIVALRY today. I'm hoping the series will somehow make some sense of that total detour in tone they took in episode 3.
Nothing I've found online seems to explain why they'd risk the momentum they had coming off episodes 1 and 2, which were fun and unique and a bit trashy and quite wild, vs. episode 3, which was something rather ordinary and tasteful. I think we as an audience like TV series to be reliable in tone at least from episode to episode,

Good morning, all!
-
I slept well. Annabelle is currently resting on the tea cart beside me; I think last weekend's cold spell has given her the sniffles. Thatch has recently returned to the cat tree, after an absence of several years, and both he and Stella seem healthy (knock wood!).
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
So's your old man!

I have nothing to report, ad I will be absent a bit because of the deadlines for the Encores! work. I have to rethink my schedule for the next week since I have eight numbers from the show to finish by Dec. 27, when Joshie is back from family in Vermont, and I have little time between then and Jan. 2 to work on the other numbers. The orchestra reading is Jan. 9, a week later, and the copyists need time to enter adjustments and print new orchestra parts by Jan. 8.

BK, did you post anything about the Christmas Carol ballet? Did I miss it? Christopher Gable was the Artistic Director of Northern Ballet until his death in 1998.

Friday.
And here it is, our closing weekend. Tonight and tomorrow night, and that'll be all she wrote.
These are the last two performances of Wreck the Halls for the foreseeable future. It has enjoyed six successful runs, one every other year starting in 2015. Our composer/lyricist/director is retiring from local directing after this one, and the show will be retired for a while as well so he can give the materials the loving attention they need for future licensing.

TOD
I almost had to say nothing, again, but on the spur of the moment last night I watched my heretofore ignored Criterion DVD of The Spirit of the Beehive - or, if you prefer, El espíritu de la colmena. I never saw it at any time, any place, but I've had the Criterion for YEARS, and it had been on my mind recently to ketchup with it. So ketchup I did, taking in the film and all the supplements. It's had an incredible following since its birth in 1973, and here I am, over 50 years later, finally paying attention. I'm glad I took the plunge, and I shall look forward to returning to it in the coming months and years.

DR Jrand75's wind and rain just arrived!
It warmed up all through the night, from the 30s to nearly 60 degrees, and now we'll have this off and on all day. Tonight the temperature will drop back to below freezing, so black ice will be a concern, depending on how wet or dry things are by then. Just what we needed.
-
Temperatures in the high 50's this afternoon!
-
Not sure if I'm bad at sleeping or just really, really good at thinking.

ROTFLMAO!

RE: The Kennedy Center's new name: the only buildings worthy of having the name TRUMP attached to them are toilets and whorehouses, since he's turned the entire current administration into hius personal brothel.

Last night I watched two episodes of the 2014 BBC remake of Mapp and Lucia, which cannot hold a candle to the wonderful 1985 BBC series of the high-camp E.F. Benson novels. Anna Chancellor, whom I loved as the pathetically ridiculous Miss Bingley in the 1995 BBC version of Pride & Prejudice, lacks the beauty or comic timing of Geraldine McEwen, and poor Miranda Richardson, whom I generally love, seems to be attempting - and failing at - a Prunella Scales impersonation. Scales' characterizations of Mapp and Mrs Fawlty of Fawlty Towers are two of the great BBC harridans.

Feel better vibes for MR BK.
-
LOL DR singdaw.....
-
Thanks for the Penny related photos DR GEORGE.
-
We got a dusting of snow....but higher temps tomorrow should get rid of all of it.
-
Does anyone else remember seeing a movie titled THIS HAPPY FEELING with Debbie Reynolds, Curt Jergens, John Saxon, and Alexis Smith + Troy Donahue.
Produced by Ross Hunter and released in 1958 by U-I. I like it a lot. I had the VHS but I don't think it has been released on DVD. I shall have to investigate.
According to this reviewer, it is available on DVD - but she didn't like it at all.

COLD & COUGH BE GONE VIBES FOR BRUCE!
-
i think that since The Big Fool loves putting his name of things, we should start calling them the Trump-Epstein Files.
-
Good morning.
-
I walked to the bank to pay the credit card bill. It's a nice day out. We have possible rain on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
-
I am still eating salad.
-
DR John, nine years ago today we were freezing in Austin.
It’s sunny and nice today.
-
I am still eating salad.
Of course you are. Big Ass Salad.
-
Having lunch at a birriaria in the neighborhood. It’s delicious, but it’s so hot, it’s scorching my fingertips or tongue. Imagine food microwaved with metal on it.
-
And the water mug is Mexican pottery. Beautiful.
-
Here it is.
-
The broth is still too hot.
-
Vibes for BK.
-
Finally finished the broth.
-
Now let’s finish this page.
-
I want ice cream.
-
I always want ice cream.
-
Three!
-
I baked some pork chops and baby potatoes.
All I could think of is that I would like to have some Big Ass Salad to go with them.
-
DR FREDDIE the new episode of HEATED RIVALRY is very good - very emotional.
And I sort of figured that we got that third episode so that something like this could happen.

I always want ice cream.

Great to hear! Looking forward to watching it tonight!
-
How is this episode on the near-porn scale?
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of often interrupted sleep to eep in the ool, cough, and blow nose. As of this moment, feeling lousy, but it's mostly the nose and cough and my stomach muscles are really sore from all the coughing.
-
Turkey sandwich on its way along with some onion rings.
-
elmore, I watched the first fifteen minutes of the ballet and will finish over the weekend. It's enjoyable save for not a single shot of geography and way too many close-ups.

You like hot food so it must be super hot. That is probably how I feel about food at your normal level of heat.

Lovely.

Yes, very pretty.

DR FREDDIE I would say 0 of 10.
-
THIS HAPPY FEELING seems to be available only in forms not compatible with US systems.
I guess only DR JANE remembers it.
-
DR FREDDIE I would say 0 of 10.
Is that on a scale where episodes 1 and 2 were very close to 10 out of 10?
-
George, I really was fascinated by the Forward-slash vs. Back-slash implications. I almost never actually type either; they usually come along in things I cut-and-paste.
What's weird to me is that I would think that more people would use the forward slash than the back slash, so why hide that one??

PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
Now, I just need to figure out today's Wordle word! I've made three guesses and have four letters, but none are in the right place. HOWEVER, I have not been able to even guess any other word that comes close to having the four letters that are in the word! :o
-
i think that since The Big Fool loves putting his name of things, we should start calling them the Trump-Epstein Files.
Absolutely!!
-
George, good luck with Wordle.
-
I am still eating salad.
It'll keep you regular! ;)

George, good luck with Wordle.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to need some time. ::)

Has Keith gotten the word yet?

DR FREDDIE yes.....no kissing or buttocks.....

Keith just started doing it. I told him you are struggling and he said it is supposed to be a tough one. He has finished one line. He didn't say how well he did with the one line ;D
-
Has Keith gotten the word yet?
Funny, I answered you before I saw your question.
-
Wordle in three. Tough word, it took him 20 minutes.
First line one yellow.
Second line the yellow changed to green.
It is not a common word, and possibly difficult to spell.
-
I knew what the Wordle word was. I just couldn't remember how to spell it.
-
FINALLY!!
Wordle 1,644 5/6
⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜
⬜🟨⬜⬜🟩
🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜
🟩⬜🟩🟩🟨
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
I was making wrong guesses for a couple of hours before I just decided to guess a word that I knew had wrong letters, but I needed to try something. Then, I was able to just fit the other letters where they went! WHEW!!
-
Thank goodness you got it in five. Well done.
-
I knew what the Wordle word was. I just couldn't remember how to spell it.

Jane -- Yes. Every day.
-
Please share your scores with us. It is fun. Then you weren't joking about the spelling. Keith had trouble with that.
-
DR Vixmom has not shared her Wordle score with us today. I saw it on Facebook and it is impressive.

When you know, you know.

Or don't know, in this case.

It has hovered around 2 degrees here today.

My DH and I had our usual disagreement today. He wants to turn on the furnace. It was 77 degrees here today.

Watching a Cecil B DeMille epic called Union Pacific. Great cast including Barbara Stanwyck, Joel McCrea, Robert Preston and every extra on the lot. A very young Anthony Quinn is a card shark and killer.

I tend to run cold and can understand how he feels. I find fleece warm. Even though I am cold right now (inside temp is 71) I am wearing shorts. I should have left my vest over my sweatshirt. I love vets for the extra layer they offer.

I felt so disgusting that at two I just plopped down in bed and went back to sleep and four hours later, here I am, and I may just try for more, then get up, shave, shower, do notes, post, and back to bed.

Drinking some water, which I don't care for but that I know I must do.
-
It is helping the muscle contractions, which have been less lately. And lately less.

Turkey sandwich was fine, but now I need a break after three in a row. Onion rings were okay but are not sitting well in the tummy.

No movies tonight.

Preston is the bad guy in that? If I’m thinking of the right one, there’s some good montage moments of him laughing like a supervillain.
