Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of both Christmas Day and the Darling Daughter, and now it is time to post until the Christmas Day cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JOCULARITY!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Thanks to John G and vixmom for the Millstone congratulations in last night's posts!
-
Last night, vixmom wrote:
"Freddie i believe Skip taught me thd cooking method for the roast, 15 minutes at 500 then 10minutes per lb at 325
It was perfect, please thank him for me"
vixmom, I'll make sure to tell him!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Since I am ahead of myself on the Encores! work, I stayed up till 9:00 and slept in until 6:00 this morning. It was lovely. Around 4:30, just after a bathroom break, both Thatch and Annabelle wanted under the blankets to get warm. It was18 degrees F at 6:30 this morning. Stella crawled in bed earlier with me, but I think she prefers to sleep on the floor next to the bed.
-
Last night I watched on Amazon Prime a 2014 film Getting to the Nutcracker, about the students - aged 3-18 - of the Los Angeles Marat Daukayev School of Ballet preparing their annual performance of The Nutcracker. I wanted to l;ove it, but I couldn't hear it! The musical excerpts were very loud, but all of the interviews and other spoken sections were so soft and low that I could hear maybe one word out of ten with the volume at its highest level. I finally just settled back and enjoyed the visuals while I wondered what the fat hell people were saying.
-
DR vixmom, I'm happy you and your family had a nice day. I wish you;d come and be my caregiver.
-
BK, what was the book on classical music recordings you got?
-
It sounds like all the DRs had a wonderful day. I'm very happy for all of you.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good to see DRs Jeanne and vixmom here.
-
I am still in my second cold of December, but definitely on the upswing.
-
This is a fun Price Is Right clip.

Good morning.
-
I put Leonard's heated cat bed on the sofa beside me, and he's curled up in it. Like it's cold or something.
-
Good morning, all
-
Dancing today. Maybe a movie tonight.
-
DR FREDDIE that was pretty funny.
-
I enjoyed reading about MR BK's day and all of the posts about food from HHW'ers yesterday.
-
Very overcast today.
But that's okay.
-
I have to keep reminding myself it is FRIDAY and not SATURDAY.
-
Galileo says it is 68 degrees in my house.
-
Yes DR VIXMOM I think a trip to Arkansas is in order.
-
Bruce, I'm glad your rain took a break yesterday.
-
DR vixmom - did you know about this?
-
DR MichaelG, your Christmas sounds like a nice family day.
-
From DR Rodzinski,
It’s a basketball?
(My dad’s standard joke back in the day)
:)
-
From DR Jeanne,
Bruce, what did your doctors say about weight loss?
Are you losing weight? Too much or are you pleased?
-
TWO!

From DR Jeanne,
Did I mention that bk and I have the same neurologist? I saw him for the first time recently, after a 5-6 month wait. I told him I know Bruce. He asked how we met. I told him we met as teens. Then I thought he asked if I’d followed his career—at least I thought that’s what he asked. I said that we lost touch for a while, that I was working long hours and not watching TV. Later I realized that he might not know about Bruce’s career and my response would have made no sense. ☺️
LOL regarding your response. I say strange things to people in response to what I thought I heard vs what they said. I know this because Keith tells me after we leave the conversation ;D
I did not know you were seeing the same neurologist. I hope he has been able to help you.
-
From DR John,
To get in, you had to donate to the food bank. Reports say 30,000 pounds of food was donated, which Fluffy said should feed 19,000 people.
Wow!
-
DR Vixmom, I like how you made Christmas special, and gave your brother a much needed break.
-
Bruce, no hand cramping vibes while you are writing your book.
-
I put Leonard's heated cat bed on the sofa beside me, and he's curled up in it. Like it's cold or something.
Sweet.

Yes, quite enjoyable!

What does Boxing Day mean to you all, traditionally? We never had a tradition or anything. Was just the day after Christmas, a day to enjoy your presents.
In Canada, it’s a bigger deal. Their Black Friday. People go shopping for big discounts. Seems odd to me.
-
Boxing Day was an English thing, not something we did here. I don't remember Black Friday until I was an adult. Sure, there were sales the day after Christmas but I didn't have a name for the day.
-
I think the original concept of Boxing Day, giving gifts to those that need them, is much nicer than what it is today.
-
I feel like “Black Friday” became a thing like it is only in the last 20-30 years.
-
Not that I’ve ever done anything on Black Friday.
-
Bob Barker at his most masterful in that clip.
-
The only years I did anything were the years in Pennyslvania where I went with my girlfriend to one special store to shop for half off Christmas items for the following year.
-
This morning we went to the Hardware store next to our gym to pick up a few things. I didn't see anything on sale. If the Christmas cards were on sale I might have purchased a few boxes for next year. I did put on my calendar for next year to shop there for cards instead of Fred Meyer as the selection was rather bad the last couple of years.
-
The most cringe-ridden game show in history is the Richard Dawson-hosted Family Feud. Could not get away with it today and he is beyond smarmy doing it.
-
Marshall came by and picked up his coat.
-
Had some tuna pasta salad and took pills.
-
Don't think I want any other pasta with sauce today.
-
Isn't it time to get to page 3? What is this, the day after a holiday or something?
-
Good afternoon.
-
A bit of blue sky just before dark.
-
PAGE THREE!
-
I spent Boxing Day putting the Christmas tree back in its box.
-
PAGE THREE!
LOL, you delayed too long before moving on to page three ;)
-
I spent Boxing Day putting the Christmas tree back in its box.
We only had one little tree sitting on our front door bench. Keith grabbed it on our way out this morning and put it in our storage unit :(
-
I still have a couple of decorations sitting out with cards. I'll see how long I can keep them out before he complains ;D
-
Here’s a lovely version of You Must Meet My Wife with Len Cariou 52 years after the first production. There are a few lyric fumfers, but he and Melissa Errico have a great rapport.

-
I am going to the movies later, some Telegu or Bollywood flick called Champion.
-
It’s 5:30 here. The sun hasn’t quite set and I can feel the days getting just a little longer.
-
I remember a few people were interested in seeing Song Sung Blue. Has anyone actually seen it? Our neighbors invited us to join them yesterday afternoon and we passed. They liked it and said we should see it.

Hmm, I'll have to pay attention to when the sun sets tonight.
-
I’m tired and I had a nap today.
-
It got up to 81 today. Monday’s high will be 57. Then back to the upper 70s.
-
I’m confused.
-
Happy Boxing Day!

Right now 57 degrees would make me happy.
-
Congrats, DR Freddie, on your milestone!

I’m confused.
;D
-
Got some individually wrapped Swedish Fish. They’re pretty good for something so totally artificial.

Wordle: 4/6

PAGE THREE!
LOL, you delayed too long before moving on to page three ;)
Just 21 seconds too long. :)

I'll see it as soon as it starts streaming.

Congrats, DR Freddie, on your milestone!
Thanks, Kevin!

It rained - about thirty minutes.
-
Taking a snack break from the Dick Van Dyke documentary.

Wordle: 4/6
Very good.

SN*Wing here. And fast. By the end of the first hour we had a good four inches. By the middle of the night we'll have eight to twelve ... or who knows. Not looking forward to going out there in the morning.
-
Good luck.
-
Once again, only person in the theater.
-
Ooh, four people just showed up.
-
Once again, only person in the theater.

-
Ooh, four people just showed up.
I would prefer that to being the only person.
-
Unless they sit next to me.

Unless they sit next to me.
:)
-
I have nothing to report.
-
Barely on page four.
-
Good night, friends.

Intermission time. Here was the highlight of the first half.

This movie has it all. Soccer, fights, romance. The best nonsinging moment was when the champion takes a machine gun to the bad guys and his stunning hair seems to flow with his movements. Brilliant.
-
Who could ask for anything more?
-
We're back home from Baltimore. I watched Stand By Me on the flight, which I'd never seen before.
-
DR vixmom - did you know about this?
I did NOT know about this!
-
Well, three hours of Telugu movie magic is over. It became a really violent war movie before it was over. And yet the pacing was superb. I never once lost interest in the movie, even when it strained credulity.
-
And we’re still on four.
-
What a bore.
-
Je t’adore.
-
French no more.
-
Let’s even the score.
-
With Eric Blore.
-
What’s at the core?
-
Of Telugu lore?
-
My feet are sore.
-
I may start to snore.
-
Five!
-
Page five still?
-
Finishing up Elmore Leonard’s Bandits. Fun.
-
Good night, all.

It's been a couple of days, hasn't it? :)
-
First, a few comments from yesterday's posts...
-
Congrats, Freddie, on your new posting plateau!!
-
Larry, that was very sweet of Ann to bring you all that food!
-
Congrats to Keith for his Wordle 3-fer!
-
Today, I got it in three guesses! :D
-
And Congrats, BK, on the winning lottery scratcher!
-
Yesterday, we all went to my sister's house for the family and friends get-together.
-
Here are just some of the family and friends:
-
The TV is showing a four-hour YouTube video of a fireplace burning, with Christmas music playing. :)
-
Here's most of the spread that was mostly prepared my sister:
-
There were a plethora of desserts:
-
Shelly made the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting that's right at the corner of the counter.
-
She also made peppermint brownies:
-
And here from Christmas Eve is me opening my gift certificate from my sister for a local Mexican restaurant that I go to fairly often:
-
Jane, it's for Plaza Jalisco where we met that last time you came up to this area. :)
-
My friend David came down from Seattle yesterday and partook of the Christmas Day festivities and stayed overnight on the couch.
-
After Shelly went to her room for the night, David and I watched Scrooged, starring Bill Murray.
-
We both enjoyed it very much.
-
I didn't love it as much as Scrooged with Albert Finney, though. I do love that one.
-
Today, after everyone was up, the three of us met up with Margo (she knows David, also) for lunch at a local coffee place called Samayra Coffee (https://www.samayracoffee.com/menu) that has a few breakfast items.
-
I had the Breakfast Burrito and it was pretty darned good.
-
After dining, we went to the mall and visited with Margo's youngest daughter, who owns and works at a boba tea place in the mall...and she's only 26 years old!
-
We then walked around the mall and it was pretty busy.
-
It's been about a year and a half since I'd been there (not since TAO was kicked out of our performance space ::) ).
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
There were some empty storefronts, but a lot of the mall spaces were filled and it was not a quiet place.
-
After we walked the mall, Margo went to her home, then Shelly, David, and I came back to my place.
-
David packed up his stuff, we said our goodbyes, then he headed back north to
Alaska Seattle.
-
Shelly went up to her room, and I took a nap on the couch before we headed to my mom's to play our regular Friday game of Phase 10.
-
We played one game before Shelly and my niece left, then Dee (not my sister DeeDee) decided that she wasn't feeling well, so she left.
-
My mom and I played a couple more games with just the two of us, and she won both games.
-
Good for her. ::)
-
;)
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I really did.
-
I wouldn't kid.
-
They shall be read.
