Well, you've read the notes, you know it's now 2026, and now it is time for you to post until the 2026 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CLEANSING!
-
The 2026 calendar is hung up and the 2025 calendar recycled.

The 2026 calendar is hung up and the 2025 calendar recycled.
What kind do you get, Michael? Every year I get the Futurama calendar. I've been getting them since they were first produced in 2000, and I still have every one! :D
-
I've seen some listed for sale on eBay and other online places for as much as $300! :o
-
Good night, all.
Good night to you, too!

-
Good morning, all!
-
Wishing you all . . .
-
I was in bed by 8:30. Last year, I slept through the midnight madness. Last night, I awoke to the sounds of explosions and twelve tiny cat feet bolting over my body as they ran for cover. don't believe they all were out of hiding until maybe 4:00.
Annabelle was the first to show up to cuddle with me, then, when I got up for a bathroom break. I stepped on Stella, who now prefers to sleep on top of my bedroom slippers next to the bed. Finally, scaredy-cat Thatch showed up, and the natural order of 202 West 82 was restored.
-
I have kitty cleanup followed by a trip to thye basement and the mailboxes to pick up the mail from the past three days. I will then work on the "Go Into Your Trance" dance until 1:00 or so, when I start thinking about my dinner and the cats'.
-
Now that the vile Fat Orange Mental Case is controlling CBS, I need a new morning show.
-
Good morning and Happy New Year.
-
I was in bed by 8 last night.
-
The fireworks were earlier than usual. I think new people moved into the house that used to set them off all night long.
-
When Aunt Sassy is ready, we'll go get some chilaquiles for breakfast. It's a tradition. We are starting it today.

New Year’s Day greetings! We celebrated last night with Olive Garden takeout and a college football double header. And we did manage to see the ball drop, but just barely.
-
Best wishes to all for 2026!
-
Good morning, all.
-
By 12:30 or so, I was crapped out and went to bed and I think I was out like a light. I'm told the zoom partay went on till 3:30 and everyone had a great time.
-
And we have a white New Year's. First time in many years, I think. Looks like about three inches. We'll have no choice but to go out and do some cleanup. LATER.
-
Good morning, all.

Sleep eluded me too much last night.

I doubt I will get much of a nap today.

This one is for DR ChasSmith:
What has two butts and kills people?
-
An ASS-ASS-in.
-
Lovely pic, DR Jane.
-
All settled in to watch the Tournament of Roses parade!
A great reminder, DR Ginny!
-
Last night I was a couch potato.
-
:)
-
DR John G.: the New York Times has this one for you to try:
-
I like MR BK's "I have a key response".....most entertaining.
-
I watched "You're A Big Boy Now" again last night to enjoy especially the performances of Geraldine Page and Julie Harris and Rip Torn.
And introducing: Karen Black.
-
Today my brother and his wife are on the way to Kentucky with one of his sons to visit another of his sons and his wife and children and new great grandchild.
And my sister and her husband and daughter are on the way home from Maryland.
-
So my family is adding to the traffic congestion on many highways and byways.
-
Last night I was a couch potato.
:)
That's terrific!
-
DR FREDDIE I think I have seen a discussion or read one on the lack of pants on Donald and Porky.....but I don't remember the details.

-
Today I have a visit scheduled with my youngest sister and then more movie and tv watching.
Of course today Indiana University plays Alabama in the Rose Bowl at 4 p.m. I think it is something like the World Series or the Super Bowl.
-
DR FREDDIE I think I have seen a discussion or read one on the lack of pants on Donald and Porky.....but I don't remember the details.
Jrand - George mentioned in a post last night that Donald Duck, who never wore pants, also wears swim trunks when he goes swimming! :)

Good question.
I used to save all of my calendars but now I only keep a couple of years back, just in case I transferred information incorrectly to my new calendar.
-
I don't have much space for my wall calendars here and now get mini-calendars. I buy cat calendars done by an artist. Last year the artist was Lesley Anne Ivory. This year, as in the majority of years, it is Lowell Herrero's 39th edition.
-
I've seen some listed for sale on eBay and other online places for as much as $300! :o
Wow! I'm guessing you don't write in them.

THREE!

-
Last night I finished my last book of the year at 11:45 and then immediately went to sleep.
-
From DR Chas,
Wait. Excuse me. Black walls?
That also caught my attention.
-
In our first Michigan home the son's room was painted black. It was rather depressing.
-
From DR Jeanne,
Yes. A large wall in the living room, a large wall in the bedroom, a wall in the kitchen, and a small wall under the kitchen counter (could be used for dining). It actually went quite well with the tenants’ sort of Asian decor. But not with my decor.
I can see how that would work.
-
DR Jeanne, vibes all goes well with the painting and you are pleased with the results.
-
Bruce have you ever had your knives professionally sharpened? It might be less than replacing them.
-
From Bruce,
Jane is Evelyn Wood tonight, rushing to finish her book.
;D
I rarely read like that anymore.
-
From DR Singdaw,
Vasilopita sounds like it should be a type of dinosaur.
It does ;D
-
I've finished my work and I now wait for Joshie to deliver more.
-

I get art calendars. Both this year's and last year's are Kandinsky calendars, but a different set of paintings. The wall calendar just reminds me of the date and holidays; I put appointments in my online calendar.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about eight and a half hours of sleep - up a few times during the evening - but it was probably closer to nine hours. Shortly, I shall start writing.

Enjoy, ChasSmith!! We haven't had a white Christmas or New Year's around these parts in years!

Finished futzing and finessing the ten pages I'd already written - smoothed out a lot of stuff, changed a few things, and then wrote two new pages. The important thing is that I liked it and it held my interest.
-
I'll try to write another three or four pages before shaving and showering.
-
Nice calendars George.

Nice calendars. I have birthdays and anniversaries on my wall calendar. I also have an online calendar and I use my day cat desk, page by page, calendar to keep important dates in it. I don't trust the internet won't go out.
-
Seven new pages so far, so taking a break. I'll definitely do four or five more at some point and probably get to the end of the first chapter - thankfully, I know exactly how that ends.

DR Laura do you have a favorite place you go for them?
-
Thanks DR JANE my guess is that both parties have reached their destinations by now.
-
Happy New Year, Gang!
I fell asleep watching Australian Legomasters with the kids, so I missed out on the fun here.
-
Our local dinner was very good, then we came home and celebrated the NY ball drop. Then I crashed.
-
Rooting for the ne’er-do-well Indiana Hoosiers to defeat the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide.

Happy New Year, Gang!

Spending New Year's evening with the little ones is fun. I much preferred it to going out.
-
Later my alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs, take on the school I went to for freshman year, the Ole Miss Rebels.
-
I root for Indiana because I’m a Hoosier by birth, and my eldest sister went there.

6333 West 3rd. Street.....MR BK that is the address of the only Ollie's Bargain Center that I can find in LA.
Here's a website that has a store locator link and some samples of their products. It might be worth ONE visit just to see.
-
Never know what you’ll find at an Ollie’s.
-
DR RODZINSKI the Hoosiers are ahead right now in the middle of the second quarter.
-
Yep, listening on radio, old school, JRand.
-
For those unfamiliar, Indiana vs Alabama, historically speaking, is like a gnat vs a 747 jet plane. Just uncharted territory for IU.

A gnat with Curt Cignetti as coach and a Heismann-winning quarterback is a whole new animal - Go, Hoosiers!
-
Michigan ended up nabbing a good coach, so things looking up for next year in Ann Arbor!

You should feel lucky.
-
I wish I didn’t know it existed.
-
Because it’s like a kitchen sink combo of horrors. In a pie crust.
-
I also saw a horrific variation on Luby’s lime congealed salad. So many evil changes. The Midwest version uses Miracle Whip instead of mayo. Then it adds pimentos and horseradish sauce. I’m still reeling over both additions.

So many possibilities.

I don’t think Sondheim had congealed salad in mind when he wrote that lyric.

-
Well, an hour later and haven't written a single word due to my hand cramping for two hours now.
-
I'm so sick of this
-
Not the way I wanted to start 2026.
-
I managed to do three more pages before the hand locked up again.
-
I'll try to do three or four more later should my hand finally stop this crap.
-
If not, notes may be VERY short.
-
Cramps begone!
-
Short notes are ok. Dont sweat it.
-
Did another half page. Difficult, especially as I'm having fun doing the actual writing. Maybe another two after the notes and a hot shower.
-
Got through the notes.
-
Boy, everyone sure disappeared after 7:00.
-
Everyone Rodzinski.
-
Must have been a busy evening or perhaps everyone was in bed by seven.
-
I did have to take a small break from the notes to scream at the top of my lungs that I have HAD it with this hand cramping crap and for the universe to knock it the HELL off. Or whatever greater power has seen fit to do this.
-
I mean, at the TOP of my lungs. I do believe they call that going berserk, but the pain of the cramping was unbearable.
