Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very, very, very sleepy, and now it is time for you to post until the very, very, very sleepy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: QUIDDITY!

Topic of the Day:
Bad movie I liked: At Long Last Love
Good movie I didn't like: way too many to think of one ::)
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is a bit of a crazy week. Today I am bein g visited by a home healthcare assessor for another 2.5 hour interview. I do not look forward to it, but I hope this time I will be approved for home healthcare. The one advantage is that this time the interview is not a Zoom but a live interview.
-
Tomorrow I have a Zoom meeting about the new ballet, and Friday is the 2nd half of the assessment, on Zoom. My ballet colleague Doug is in town this week, and at some point he and his partner Richard will come to visit.
-
DR John G, I did not find a question from you on Facebook, but I dud find a link you sent me. I am not a fan of the condctor. Luckily, I do not have to deal with anyone but Joshie.
-
I hate to sy it, BK, but I want to read this pan you received. I'm sorry that the show got it, but I suspect, from the rave quote, there will be some good ones, and I'd like to read them all.
-
The two Broadway productions I saw and loved that got panned and closed immediately were Rags abd Isacc Bashevis Singer's Tiebele and Her Demon.
On the other side, I cannot imagine why a god-awful piece of poorly-written shit like Moulin Rouge is still running.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I could hardly be more beat, following a weekend of sn*w management.
(I passed Sn*w Management 101, but only barely.)
Today should mostly be a day of rest ... AFTER I go out in a couple of hours to meet with someone about some Valentine's program music.
-
So you've got to see a man about a horse?
-
Or something like that.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Back to work today.
-
Thanks for the mac & cheese recipe, DR Jane!
-
And the "concept" of a recipe, DR John G. :D
-
DR John G, I found your qu.estion. Yes, Jeremy Clayton is the fantastic reed player who is Joshie's brother and the wonderful illustrator of Annabelle & Thatch.

TOD:
Recalling the very dismissive first review in the Times of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
https://www.nytimes.com/1970/09/21/archives/tv-review-tim-conway-presents-own-show-on-cbs.html
"... Mary Tyler Moore, appearing at 9:30 on Saturdays, is in much worse difficulties. She is caught in a ridiculous item with one set of bizarre happenings at a TV station's newsroom and another in her living accommodations.
At the station, the editor is a happy sot who hires Miss Moore as she walks in and the station's news anchor man cannot pronounce the word “Chicago.” At home, Miss Moore disposes of a dilatory suitor, gets rid of her wandering new boss and starts a running gag with the neighbors."
-
DR elmore3003, thanks for highlighting Britten's Paul Bunyan. Haven't listened to it in ages. Didn't realize until now that there is another commercial recording besides the Brunelle - from Richard Hickox on Chandos.
-
DR Jrand75 - congratulations on your state team's win!
-
Which sport, I couldn't say, but I know they won!
-
That is the extend of my knowledge of sport.
-
Thank you DR singdaw.
Yes indeed as DR RODZINSKI wrote last night - IU is the National College Football Champion.
-
I'll have to think about the TOD.
Following up on another RODZINSKI post last night:
Sometimes if I am watching a movie I haven't seen.....I have to check the credits to see if I am looking at Hugh Marlowe OR Richard Carlson.
-
I was going to get a haircut today, but temperatures are supposed to be about 20 degrees warmer tomorrow - so tomorrow it is.
-
Let's move on.

Good morning, all.

Something I ate yesterday didn’t agree with me in the middle of the night. Not fun.

New York, New York
Stage:

The Gospel at Colonus
Big Deal

I can't imagine the Royal Opera version is better than the Minneapolis-Brunelle recording, which is so wonderful. I loved the City Opera producyion, but the broadcvast was so poor in concept.
-
Movies that I can’t understand why they are hits are too numerous to mention, but a couple are Farewell, My Concubine and, as Elmore aptly pointed out, Moulin Rouge (on screen and stage), plus all those superhero movies.
Stage: much of Andrew Lloyd Webber
-
DR John G, I found your qu.estion. Yes, Jeremy Clayton is the fantastic reed player who is Joshie's brother and the wonderful illustrator of Annabelle & Thatch.
I thought it was a way to plug the book to a new audience.
-
Good luck on your interview today, Larry. I hope you get the help you need.

I’m kinda getting tired of everything in a red velvet format. But I would eat those if someone gave them to me.

I spent nearly 45 minutes passed from one to another person at Amazing Home Care before I was told, Someone will call you back. I am not amused.

I happened to look out the window at 10:25 a.m. and the windows on the car were clear of ice.
So I texted Great Clips for an appt. Twenty minutes....so I got dressed and drove over. I was home with a nifty hairs cut by 11:10 a.m.

DR Kevin, thank for the great last night, and good for you on your Wordle.

From DR Rodzinski,
Indiana is indeed your college football national champion. A statement as absurd as anything. Completely unbelievable even a year ago. But it’s true.
Congratulations!

FromRodzinski,
My youngsters won’t touch the stuff. One of them eats Annie’s, the organic brand.

Removing red food coloring in about the only thing I agree with what Kennedy Jr. has to say.
-
Back from breakfast with R. Yacko and then mail place - not that much for not going there for over a week - but one small thirty buck residual - then Gelson's - now home and ready to start writing.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
It's really never occurred to me to ask to read negative reviews of shows or books or anything that people I know are involved in, so elmore's request was actually a first.
-
Wrote five new pages. Will definitely try for five more or maybe even seven or eight more.
-
Taking a brief break, then will continue.
-
Thanks DR JANE that makes since.

Good evening.

Went to a nice dinner with a friend. It’s Restaurant Weeks. Had a really good chicken cordon bleu with a red and golden beet salad. Tiramisu made for a lovely dessert.
-
I read about a Bing cherry-amaretto tiramisu the other day. I need to make that.
-
Five!
-
Had the phone call from Muse Margaret, about which more in the notes. And thus far, I've done over ten new pages - the best writing day I've had in terms of page output, and I'm sure I'll do another five.

And when I do the other five, I hope we're not still ON page five.

~~~SUPER-STRENGTH HEALING VIBES~~~ for DR Jane!
I’m 776 on the waiting list for Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Cobin’s Gone Before Goodbye.
-
Glad I have the Polish whodunnit with the cheery title of Drive Your Plows Over the Bones of the Dead.
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
The Merrily DVD will be released on March 3.
-
Good night, all.
-
Gosh, I’ll do my best to get us onto page 6.
-
If G doesn’t show up, I’ll do it by my lonesome.
-
Not to curry favor with the host, but when you read online reviews of The Creature Wasn’t Nice, some people don’t get it. Invariably they are looking at the wrong things. They’re missing out on the fun interplay of a great ensemble while they focus on the fact that it is a whole different brand of comedy than Naked Gun or whatever.
-
I was surprised to watch an old Siskel Ebert and see that both loved The Wiz. I assumed it was roundly dismissed.
-
I remember certain Leonard Maltin reviews like where he said the ending of All That Jazz left a bad taste for the whole film. I happen to think the ending is magnificent.
-
What else can I tell ya?
-
I was going to say I don’t think I saw a movie this year with humans (non-animated) in it.
-
But I remembered I saw Minecraft which had a partially human cast.
-
Although everyone behaved like cartoon characters.
-
Non movie theater: On a plane I saw Mickey 17 or whatever number. That was a headache.
-
Sinners, I did see. Good acting by the one guy. Not like, particularly great movie.
-
The one guy who played two guys, that is.
-
I’m out of touch, as Hall and Oates sang.
-
We’re still scrambling to find better work options before Mrs R’s gig dries up at the end of March.
-
My gig is fine, I’m doing things in the print and digital space, but it alone can’t sustain us.
-
And now…. Page Styx.
Rockin’ the Paradise.
