Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the filet of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the filet of cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GARNER!

I knew I wouldn't repeat a 2-fer Wordle anytime soon...if ever. ::)
;D

So, the concert last night was fairly full, but not completely sold out. Leif Ove Andsnes is an incredible pianist. Here is the cover of the program:
-
They have a digital copy of the program (without the articles or the cover, just the artists' sections) here:
https://issuu.com/meanycenterfortheperformingarts/docs/meany-center-encore-january-2026 (https://issuu.com/meanycenterfortheperformingarts/docs/meany-center-encore-january-2026)
Leif's section is on pages 9-12. I'm not specifically a classical pianist fan but we did enjoy ourselves...and David got the tickets for free, so that helped.
-
Before the concert, he also bought us dinner at Jollibee (https://www.jollibeefoods.com/), which neither Shelly nor I had heard of. It's a fried chicken place comparable to KFC or Popeye's. I had the Aloha Chicken Sandwich (https://www.jollibeefoods.com/products/aloha-chicken-sandwich) and mashed potatoes and a diet Pepsi. We all enjoyed what we got.
-
After the concert, David drove us around Seattle and gave us a bit of a tour. We couldn't see much but all the lights were really nice.
-
We did drive through and see Pike Place Market (it was, of course, closed):
-
And also the big Ferris wheel (I forget its official name):
-
I almost forgot! Here's the stage where Leif performed (before the show started):
-
And here he is during his bows:
-
AND when we got home, these were waiting for me in the mailbox:
-
;D
-
Good morning, all!
-
I would like one day -just one! - in which Donald Trump is neither mentioned nor responsible for something his shitty administration is pulling. I read something recently where a doctor made a comment thast he suspected Trump has maybe six monthsd left to live. nWell, I hope it's true; I'd rather see him dead than wait for hios crimes to send him to prison.
And I hate the fact that he is responsible for maybe 99% of the panic attacks I have these days are his responsibility. I don't think I've been this frightened since the nuclear threats sixty years ago when I was in college.
And I apologize to you DRs that my hatred for him manˆfests itself too often on this site.
-
DR George, thanks for the photos of your epic night out in Seattle.
-
My ballet colleague Doug is coming to visit this morning, so I must get busy tidying up. Keeping up with the mayhem of three cats is a losing proposition.
-
George, thanks for those photos and the enjoyable posts about your night out!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Pulled a late one last night and am plenty groggy this morning. Got back to Empire of the Sun, watched it all the way through from the beginning, and for my taste it’s one of Spielberg’s great ones.
-
I don’t know how I’ve lived all of these years in such total ignorance of this, but I was floored to learn that the choral piece “Exsultate Justi” was composed by John Williams for this movie. Shame the living HELL on me and my sorry ASS. And maybe even the horse I rode in on.
-
Today I have to fill a couple of gas cans, and we need to make sure the snow blower and the supplies of sand and salt are accessible. Tomorrow’s the storm. All day. Monday’s the cleanup. All day. We’re looking at 10 to 16 inches or something like that. And single digit temps. Not looking forward to it at all.
-
Filet mignon is my favorite steak....although a T-bone now and then ends up on my plate.
-
Great photos from DR GEORGE last night - and it was nice hearing about the piano concert!
But as one of the characters in my play My Hand Is Not My Heart says: "Playing piano can't be that hard. I seen Bugs Bunny do it once with his feet!"
-
It is 4 degrees here with a feels like of 2 degrees.
Snow is supposed to start about 2 p.m.
-
The SINNERS movie is on HBO Max and BURGONIA is on Peacock so I may give them a watch today.
-
Since the redo - the notes of the day come up for me and I don't have to click to get on the right day!
-
I am watching COZI TV....Columbo is on....
-
Lots of nice cars and Martin Milner and Jack Cassidy.
-

-
Good morning.
-
Hoping everyone gets through this storm all right. No rain here overnight.
-
Saturday morning greetings! I have no excuse - good or bad - for being absent for 2 weeks. We are hunkered down, waiting for the snowpocalypse.
-
Good morning, everyone.
-
Weather vibes for all.
-
Larry, I totally agree. In my heart, I hear his name and want to ask: Is he dead yet?
I don’t want to be that person.
-
Eating steak at a fine restaurant can be a luxurious experience. But I prefer regular, not prime, New York strips or ribeyes that I grill myself with Montreal seasoning.
-
But as one of the characters in my play My Hand Is Not My Heart says: "Playing piano can't be that hard. I seen Bugs Bunny do it once with his feet!"
:D
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Thanks for all the posts and photos last night, DR George.
-
Funnily enough, it is called simply The Seattle Great Wheel.
-

I *think* that's true for me, too! Let's hope...
-
From DR John,
I thought you’d like that.
I quite enjoyed it.
:)
-
From DR Singdaw,
Today was a difficult day.
A work action was called to send a message: ICE OUT of Minnesota.
All were encouraged not to work, spend, or do anything else.
That's great.
-
From Singdaw,
Instead of our usual crew of 15, we had 4.
Wow.
I understand your not participating.
-
Congrats Bruce on a good show.

Sorry and Ditto regarding the storm.

That was true for me until this morning when I had to "reload" to see today's notes.

ICE has murdered another Minnesotan.
-
They are killing adults and kidnapping children - as young as aged 2 and 5 - from their streets and their homes.
-
They are deporting people they have been ordered by Federal judges NOT to deport.
-
And WE are paying for all of this with our tax dollars.
-
Or more accurately, through incurring debt from money our country does not have.
-
DR singdaw that is all so awful.
And people are just starting to accept it as they way it should be.
Some things can't happen SOON ENOUGH for me.
-
No snow here yet.
I went outside and brought my snow shovel in so that I don't have to walk through 8-10 inches of snow to retrieve it when I need it.
-
Page Three.
-
MR BK's dinner with the Pearls sounds wonderful.
-
DR JOHN G mentioned something I forgot.....ribeye!
I like a good bacon-wrapped ribeye.....no calories or cholesterol I'm sure.

Now they are saying the sn*w will start about 5 p.m.
Dry air in the atmosphere is keeping it from falling right now.
THEY say.
-
DR Singdaw, thank you! Your post about the recent shooting sent me to Huffington Post to learn more. It sounds as if, lke the Renee Good murder, there will be two different accounts: the facts from witnesses and lies from the Feds.

My guests just left. Thatch hid until they were gone. Annabelle and Stella did everything possible to make them comfortable. I think they're ready to relocate to Seattle.
-
ICE has murdered another Minnesotan.
I just saw that when I opened my computer. I came to ask where your co-workers protested.
-
No snow here yet.
I went outside and brought my snow shovel in so that I don't have to walk through 8-10 inches of snow to retrieve it when I need it.
Smart move. I always hated when I didn't have a shovel handy.

DR JOHN G shocking.

DR John, I'm reading about power outages in Texas. I gather you are just fine.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Up at noon, food had just been delivered, so I ate that and it was good.
-
Then answered bunches of e-mails and now must futz and finesse and write.

F & F vibes for MR BK.

DR John, I'm reading about power outages in Texas. I gather you are just fine.
So far, so good..
-
It's raining and 35 outside. It will surely turn into ice overnight. I am staying home.
-
Ice is not good. Fingers crossed it melts quickly.
-
It's really depressing outside. So. I am watching a film set in a depressing winter of ice and rain. The evil little girl is trudging along in the muck and mire.
And I am not even four hours in yet.
-
It reminds me of when I had a horrible case of the flu at Christmas and all I had to watch was a two-film set of The Lower Depths. Two films with the cheery message that, yes, no matter how awful things are, they can get worse.
-
Oy.
-
Gratuitous post 99!

Happy post 100!

In more happy news, Jane, you're just 12 away from your 149,000-posting Millstone!

I don't eat beef often, but when I do, I love me a good filet mignon. With horseradish sauce.

We rented Fackham Hall on Amazon Prime for $9.99.

It's a bit crude and not for everyone, but we laughed a bit.
-
Lots of slapstick and sight-gags.
-
I'm trying to figure something out.
-
Looking at a 2026 calendar and trying to figure out a mystery.
Why there are FOUR months with 5 Sundays, but only TWO months with 5 Fridays. Isn't that strange?

The extended tango scene in Satantango

Do your feet hurt if you step on a Lego?

Futzed and finessed.

Wrote one page.

Dozed off for two hours.

So much for a full day of writing.
-
I'll try for another page or two right now, then shower, mosey on over to the theater, say hey to anyone I know, see how the audience is, then maybe leave at intermission.

We are going to miss the big storm at home
