Congrats to MR BK and DR JANE on their HHW millstones.

I believe the snow has stopped and just looking outside I would guess we got between six and eight inches of the stuff.
-
Congratulations, BK, on your fabulous new Millstone!

It is 9 degrees with a feels like of 1 degree.....and chances of more sn*w the rest of the day.

Governor Mike Braun has issued a statewide emergency order....similar to the one many of us voters issued when he was elected.

About 2 inches of white stuff on the ground thus far, expecting up to 15 by late tonight.

DR JOHN G Food Glorious Food is indeed the opening number to the musical.....maybe it was different in the film....although sources say FGF was the first number in the film as well.....

Not to pick a nit, but Emma Samms was an actress on General Hospital, and I was hoping she’d gotten a shot at a big film.

We did dip below freezing overnight and have a light dusting of ice, but relatively mild weather this winter, comparatively.

bk, interesting to hear that your Saturday night audiences are on the quiet side too. It used to be that Saturday night was our liveliest house and the Sunday matinees were pretty sleepy. Now, besides being the biggest houses, the Sunday matinees are also the liveliest.

Congratulations on more work, DR elmore!

Today I'm off to a lieder recital by one of my favorite local singers. The concert series is run by one of my 3rd cousins on my Mom's side. She's from the London family that we never would have discovered without Ancestry.DNA testing.

Thanks, DR Jane. Yes, I know you can do laundry in cold water. And, at this point in time, there is ZERO dirty laundry. We'll see how long that lasts. :)

~~~CONTINUED STORM VIBES~~~ for all affected
Just spoke to my mom in mid-New Jersey. She thinks they've had at last 8 or 9 inches so far, and possibly now changing to freezing rain. Ir's very cold, also - around 10.
They will be fine so long as the power doesn't go out.
I just realized I meant Emma Stone....did I say Emma Samms?
-
Yes yes I did.
Emma Samms was also on Dynasty I think.
Finishing up The Homemade God, by Rachel Joyce. It’s a sad novel of the disintegration of a family. And yet it casts its spell.
On a recent Columbo episode, Samantha Eggar had a supporting role.
I think I will watch the original version, which lost some 17 minutes after opening.
Craig guessed about 4 inches for him, but then he hadn't been out yet. He did mention the light freezing rain all day. Though it wasn't official at the time (it is now) he said he wouldn't be working tomorrow.
Back from an excellent matinee, pretty full house, fun Q&A, and then dinner at the Coral Cafe.
-
I'd written two pages before leaving, maybe three now that I think about it, so another seven would suit me just fine.
-
Tricky end of chapter and I surprised even myself with the direction I went in. Unexpected but fun and still could go any number of ways.
-
Back from the lieder recital, which was excellent - Schumann Op. 39 and a great selection of Brahms. I hadn't been to Old First Church for a concert in almost 30 years, back when the opera used to have their Schwabacher debut recital series there. It was as excellent a space for a vocal recital as I had remembered.
-
Part of the fun of scanning in the old concert programs and entering them into my online calendar is that I can wonder, "how long ago was I at Old First for a concert?" and get the answer right away.
-
Plus clearing out a lot of space in my room.
-
Nice show and writing news, bk!
-
Good night, friends.
-
I decided to watch the rerelease of Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday after watching all of the extras. He added a Jaws joke that was pretty silly, which is most welcome tonight.
-
Seeing him destroy a room while wearing spurs and bearing a riding crop is hilarious.
-
What a waste of an evening.
-
My hand started cramping at the end of dinner. By the time I got home it was still bad
-
Could not type.
-
dozed for a bit, woke up, and it was worse
-
And it's still bad.
-
All of the above was typed with one hand
-
So damn frustrating to not be able to do the new pages I need to do.
-
Finally! The cramps subsided and I wrote several new pages, finished a chapter and began a new one. Eleven pages in all.
-
Onward
-
Six!
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They are there.
-
Lighter than air.
-
Laid bare.
-
Read 'em from a chair.
-
On a dare.
-
From your lair.
-
With the old gray mare.
-
Look and stare.
-
Then share.
-
No matter where.
-
On a tear.
-
Medium rare.
-
At the fair.
