My new iPad’s keyboard tends to add periods in the middle of sentences.

That shouldn't happen!  How new is it?  Can you get it fixed or replaced?

I stupidly bought it one week before Black Friday.

A lot of places will refund the difference of the price you paid and the sale price if you buy items within (usually) 30 days of a sale.
