I had quoted and replied to your comment about the pronunciation of Hvorostovsky's last name, but when I "posted" BK had already locked things down.

My best guess: VOR-OH-STOF'-SKI. The "H" is likely silent, but they may do a quick, audible exhalation when pronouncing the "VOR...".

In my DVR no longer: three episodes of "Kyle XY" that I just finished watching.

I now have only two more episodes, then I'm finished with this season...as short as it is.

Also in my DVR to be watched either Saturday before our final show or Sunday, when I'm totally and finally Side Show-free: several episodes each of "Reaper," "Eli Stone," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," and some other shows that I can't remember right now.

In my DVD player: "Enchanted." I almost bought the Blu-Ray DVD at Costco (even though I don't have a Blu-Ray DVD player, yet

), but I bought the standard DVD used at a local video rental place for only $9.99. It's good enough for me.

I did order my very first Blu-Ray title, yesterday:

I wanted to get something very special and I think that this might be. I can't think of any feature film that is "special" enough to be my first Blu-Ray DVD purchase. My sister bought the standard DVD and on her high-def TV, it looks great. I think that this (when I get a high-def TV and a Blu-Ray DVD player

), will be in-freakin'-credible!!

Last night we watched A Love to Hide, a French film about the treatment of homosexuals during the last years of WWII. It was harrowing and disturbing and very well done. But a definite downer, and not for the faint of heart!

DVD is a BBC DANCE TO THE MUSIC of TIME, based on the Anthony Powell novel series;It got good reviews when it came out(mid 90's)but for some reason never showed up on my local PBS or A&E; It covers the same social set as in BRIDESHEAD, but over a longer time frame.Instead of'1920-40, It covers pre WW I up to the swinging sixties, so the Tv version has a lot more ground to cover.People pop up in one scene only to commit suicide in the very next; Still it's enjoyable, with James Purefoy(ROME) as the hero.iCar DVD had Miss McKechnie's concert, the next installment of that bargain complete Mozart.Interrupted my reading of Hist of Eng speaking people since 1910, to focus on one person, Miss Julie Andrews-A very well done book, informative and enjoyable

God morning, all! DRtomovoz, is today April Fool's Day in Oz?

I've got orchestra parts to finish up today, and perhaps I'll see a movie with DR Jose. Yesterday afternoon I had an enjoyable lunch with a friend from Canton, OH, whom I met through friends with theRodgers & Hammerstein Organization. we talked musical theatre, library archives, problems in locating musical materials, and library archive accessibility; it was a mix of erudition and complete absurdity. And a great deal of fun.

Speaking of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, everyone must be bouncing off the walls today after all the raves for SOUTH PACIFIC. Good for them! I am so happy, and I cannot wait to see it.

I have been presented with a project that must be completed in about 2 weeks. Since I'm the expert on this information all my time will be taken up by this so I won't be around much. It's like Sing's Cranberry project.
