And on that note (Page 12 B-flat Dance), I'm outta here. ;)

Until later!

DR Ben (part deux) - I happened to walk by Pita Joe this afternoon, and I would have gone if the line wasn't thirty people deep! Good for them!

*However, I did think it was sort of strange that they were closing for a private function at 4:00 today - the day of their Grand Opening.

Adara is too cute.

Does your brother have a Dachshund?  Next to him you don't look adopted, but everyone else. ;D

Yes, they have two dachsunds, Bailey and Betsy. They are sweet dogs, both getting old, one is 15 and one is 13. No one took pictures of them so I can't post their adorable faces.

I thought it might be mobbed (Pita Joe's that is) once people found out they were giving away food. I was lucky to get there just after they opened at noon.

In other news, I finally brokedown and bought another portable, external hard drive to finally(!) back-up my laptop. -All the various models seemed to be on sale this week at Circuit City. Thankfully, since I don't have that much data, I just bought the smallest one: 160Gig! -I swear it wasn't that long ago when ONE Gig was HUGE!?!?!

So, for the past couple of hours, I've been copying and transferring lots and lots of files. Thankfully, I am able to browse, read and post via my iPhone.

I could not get over how lame the audio commentaries were for NIXON! Stone has done two of them but there are long, long gaps between his talking. Why on earth didn't they simply edit the two tracks into one since it's Stone on both. Really ridiculous and frustrating.

I watched all of the bonus features on the second disc in the set. There's a new documentary on Nixon's presidency and legacy. Then there are the older bonuses from the last DVD edition of NIXON: deleted scenes (many of which are now back in the director's cut so they're deleted no more), his hour long appearance on THE CHARLIE ROSE SHOW (always interesting), and the trailer.

Then, I watched NCIS. It was from this season, and it was one I had seen (aired near the end of the season). Still, I watched it anyway since it was a good mystery, and I didn't even remember who the guilty party was.

Then, I flipped over the TNT-HD and they were rerunning in HD the angry bride episode from last season, so I watched the first segment of it before coming upstairs to finish my review.

I guess this was the Flynn/Provenza show from last season? They are such a fun pair !

Today in the mail I got the review copy for the new issue of KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN (the original film). This is the SD version rather than the Blu-ray. I'll be watching it tomorrow. It's a 2-disc set.

It's much earlier than usual, but I think I'll tidy up a few computer items and then head down to bed.

Good night!

And Gus's Pickles too!

Did you know that Gus's is just a few blocks from The Doughnut Plant, Kossar's Bialys, The Essex Street Market, Russ & Daughters, Economy Candy...

:)

You pointed it out on our first Walking and Eating tour..I believe they were closed for a holiday

I have so  much to do before I go in the morning, but I can't seem to get myself to stop watching the Olympics. Guess I won't be sleeping much tonight!

I'm in the same boat too.  -Which is why I booked my bus trip down to DC tomorrow for 11:30am instead of 7:30am.  -However, that will also make it possible to meet my brother in DC when he gets off of work so that I'll have a ride out to Fairfax.

How come the good Olympic stuff doesn't come on here until past my bedtime?

Perhaps the network gurus think showing all those near naked bodies would be too much strain on those of a certain age and delicate constitution :D

160Gig! -I swear it wasn't that long ago when ONE Gig was HUGE!?!?!

I remember my boss turning down my request to upgrade my computer from a 20Meg to a 40 Meg with the comment that never in the whole wide world would I ever need more than 20 Meg. Before I left the job I was regularly working with DataBase files in excess of 10 Megs each. Soon thereafter I was simulataneouly working with about a dozen political data base files of about 180Mbytes each.
