Seriously, my eye, or rather under my eye started draining yesterday.  It still looks like crap, but it relieved a lot of the pressure.

While I was waiting at the hospital for my friend to come out of surgery Thursday evening; one of the nurses asked me if I had been treated by a doctor, and if so, why the doctor hadn't lanced it.... Thank you very much!  Where was she when I was fighting with the doctor?

Thank goodness your eyes feels better, may it also look better soon.

Did you ever speak to your regular doctor regarding the reason it wasn't lanced?

DR Jane - As for your Facebook inquiry...

If you're talking about your Facebook Chat log, well... The Chat function normally keeps all of your "conversation(s)" until you clear it.  However, I think there may have been a purge of sorts over the past day or two when they made the permanent switch to the "New Facebook".

Now, if you're talking about messages you've sent back and forth, well, those should still be in your Inbox.

And if you happen to be talking about something else, well... ??? ??? ???

My regular doctor's first day back from vacation is Monday.  I am tempted to go see him to complain about being dismissed by the other doctor regarding the MRSA.  But if my eye looks better, I will probably just skip it.

TCB, maybe the doctor didn't want to admit he wasn't capable of lancing your eye, if so best he didn't.

DR Cillaliz - I'm glad you were able to make it into DC to visit the WWII Memorial, as well as The Jefferson.

*I have to say, the GW Parkway always scared me.  Too many curves, no lights at night, everchanging speed zones(!), and the exits don't "match" up on either side.  There were still times in the recent past where I found myself trying to get off at one exit, only to realize that that exit only existed on the other-bound side of the Parkway.  -Then I would have to turn around in the CIA parking lot... :-\

I do hope you will have a discussion about it at some point.  Is the other doctor always the back-up in the office?

DR TCB, you do have a photo of how your eye looked, you could always take that with you to your doctor

DR TCB - Regardless, I think you should just go see your doctor just to make sure everything is still on a healing course, and also to keep him up-to-date.

It wouldn't have been my eye, but the sac of fluid under the eye.  Every time I have had MRSA, the first thing the doctor has done was to lance the sac to remove the poison.

DR Cillaliz - I also hope your stomach settles down sooner rather than later.

*And the late summer/early fall allergy season in DC always did me in.  I never had a problem in the Spring, just the Fall.  Remember: D.C. was built on a swamp. ;)

Is that at the "George Bush Center for Intelligence" or however it's worded? I had to laugh at that sign.  I haven't driven the GW Parkway at night and can see that it would be very confusing.  I made one wrong turn and it took me a little driving around to get back in the right place.  The exits not matching up isn't a problem for me because I don't have any idea what any of the exits are, but I could see that they are different.

There are about ten doctors in the Clinic.  The one I saw is not my favorite, but the way I was feeling that day, I would have booked an appointment with Sweeney Todd!

And HE would have lanced it!

Dinner is here - another day, another adventure

Well, hopefully, you won't have an "adventure" come morning - or a few hours from now.

It was a one-two punch coupled with the school not being what I thought it would be so I didn't feel a need to tough it out. I felt much better after the Claritin kicked in. I normally take it when I travel but I forgot it this time.

I have to admit I'm enjoying lounging around the room, I'm going to make some chamomile tea and take a nice hot shower before I go to bed.  There's a National Triathalon here tomorrow so I need to check on road closures in the morning when I need to go

I think I'll be fine in the morning.  I do have to change planes in Milwaukee this time, but it's a nice airport, fairly small with classical music etc.  I'll be curious to see if we get chocolate chip cookies this time.

As for the Topic of the Day...

My mom would make a "Chinese Pot Roast" from time to time.  I believe the recipe came from Better Homes & Gardens.  It was basically a pot roast that was cooked with soy sauce and star anise.  As much as I liked the beef, my favorite part of the meal were the carrots and potatoes that cooked along with the meat.

*I also learned NOT to eat the star anise pods - or at least chew them... YEOW!!!!

True, but close enough to the eye if the guy didn't know what he was doing.

Have you read about a controversy regarding lancing or leaving it alone?
